No. 19 Texas takes down No. 7 Ole Miss, and the full 3rd & Longhorn squad breaks down offense, defense and special teams. Nick Shuley is joined by Jeremy Hills, Fozzy Whittaker, Rod Babers, Derrick Johnson, Alex Okafor and Mark Higgins to recap a win that kept the season on the rails.

On offense, the crew digs into Arch Manning playing loose and having fun again, Sark simplifying the game with the quick game and dialed-up deep shots, and a commitment to the run that produced 40-plus rushing attempts and over 200 yards. Raleek Brown’s cutback running gets its due, along with Arch using his legs early and the late-game drive of six straight runs that grabbed the momentum back.

On defense, the guys break down how Will Muschamp held one of the best quarterbacks in the country, Trinidad Chambliss, under 50 percent passing with three interceptions, using a three-high safety package and creative pressure without Colin Simmons. They also go deep on the improvised coverage behind Rasheem Biles’ interception before halftime and give Juice his flowers for playing every snap.

Texas is back in the win column. Jeremy Hills, Nick Shuley, and Mark Higgins recap the #19 Longhorns knocking off #7 Ole Miss 34-27 in a game that came down to the very last snap.

With Hollywood Smothers out, Raleek Brown put the offense on his back with a breakout night: 23 carries, 157 yards, the most by a Longhorn since 2024. After getting just 5 and 8 carries in the losses to Oklahoma and Florida, Brown and the run game finally showed up, as Texas piled up 207 rushing yards at 4.9 per carry.

Arch Manning answered a week of noise with 212 passing yards and three total touchdowns, two on the ground, including a Peyton-esque naked bootleg that put Texas up 31-24 with 8:04 left. It wasn’t clean, with three turnovers, but he made the plays when it mattered.

Texas built a 24-3 halftime lead, then had to sweat it out. Ole Miss recovered an onside kick and drove to the Texas 24 with six seconds left before Jelani McDonald picked off the Hail Mary as time expired.

We also get into the injury concerns, with Trevor Goosby going down in the first quarter and Cam Coleman leaving in the third with an apparent shoulder injury, on top of Collin Simmons already being out.

For the first time ever, 3rd & Longhorn sat down with someone from the other side of the Red River. Yes, Brian Bosworth is a Sooner. Yes, we let him on stage anyway. And Texas fans are going to want to hear this one.

The Boz grew up in Irving surrounded by Longhorn fans, including a high school coach who played “The Eyes of Texas” outside his locker all week. He tells us how that fueled a lifelong grudge, why he promised his grandfather he’d play at Oklahoma when he was 9 years old, how Barry Switzer unlocked the personality behind one of college football’s original trendsetters, and what it felt like to dominate Texas in 1985.

He also breaks down what a great defense has to do to win games when the offense isn’t holding up its end, and why he still thinks Texas-OU is the best rivalry in college football.

The #1 Texas Longhorns go down in Dallas. Oklahoma wins the Red River Rivalry 27-24 on Tate Sandell’s 47-yard field goal as time expired, and we’re LIVE breaking down all of it.

Texas held Oklahoma to 238 total yards, forced seven three-and-outs, and gave up just one offensive touchdown, and still lost. The guys go through how that happened:

Offense: Arch Manning throws for 260 yards and 3 TDs, including a 41-yard strike to Cam Coleman and the game-tying score to Jermaine Bishop Jr., but no first downs on the first four drives and two costly interceptions
Defense: a dominant day against John Mateer and the Sooners’ offense, until two completions to Isaiah Sategna in the final 19 seconds

Number one Texas escapes Knoxville with a 20-17 win over Tennessee and the whole crew is in the room to break it all down. Texas Longhorns tight end Spencer Shannon joins 3rd & Longhorn for a conversation that covers everything from his unexpected path to the position to what it means to carry on one of the most impressive tight end traditions in college football.
