How a Believer Responds to Financial Hardship | PODCAST | Sh. Ahmed Umar #AMAU
Show notes
A man told the Sheikh he had $240,000 available on credit cards. After losing his job, he returned with $40,000 in debt. But what if you always pay your card off on time? Why does the Sheikh still warn against it?
In Episode 2 of The Believer's Response, Sheikh Ahmed Umar joins Brother Shahid Hassan to discuss the money decisions facing Muslim households: buying a home, paying for university and finding better ways to earn without relying on Riba.
They examine the Prophet's ﷺ guidance on the best ways to earn wealth, overlooked means of increasing rizq, and why helping others matters even when you are struggling yourself.
The discussion also asks why financial relief may be delayed despite your du'a, and how to start putting things right if your finances already involve riba.

You Promised Allah You Would Change. Did You Mean It? | #4 Stories of Golden Generations of Islam
Show notes
"This time, I'll change." We say it after a reminder, after a mistake, or when we wish we could begin again. But what happens when we have to follow through?
Anas ibn an-Nadr made a promise after missing the Battle of Badr. A Bedouin refused to let wealth distract him from the reason he had followed the Prophet ﷺ. And a prisoner returned knowing he was due to be executed.
In Episode 4 of Stories from the Golden Generations of Islam, Sheikh Muhammad Tim Humble examines truthfulness in our intentions, promises and actions through these three accounts. Their commitments faced extraordinary tests. What do they reveal about the changes we keep promising to make?

What Made Scholars Like Ibn Taymiyyah So Great? | #2 Falling in Love With Reading #AMAU
Show notes
An expert in accounting once learned about his own field from Ibn Taymiyyah. His knowledge reached so far beyond the subjects he is best known for that he was described as a library that could speak. How did the great scholars of Islam reach such a level?
In Episode 2 of How to Fall in Love with Reading, Sheikh Muhammad Huzaifah discusses Islam's emphasis on reading and seeking knowledge, alongside accounts of the scholars' eagerness to learn.
The discussion also turns to Ibn al-Jawzi's warning about a student who becomes impressed with his own opinions, and what this does to his ability to learn from others.

The First of Muslims Who Travelled for Knowledge | #2 Travelling in Pursuit of Knowledge #AMAU
Show notes
Who travelled in search of knowledge before the scholars of Hadith? The answer takes us back to the Prophets. An early scholar was also asked whether Allah had mentioned the people of Hadith in the Qur'an. He answered yes, pointing to an ayah. What was it?
In Episode 2 of Travelling in Pursuit of Knowledge, Sheikh Muhammad Huzaifah traces these foundations in the Qur'an and Sunnah before beginning Al-Khatib Al-Baghdadi's Rihlah fi Talab Al-Hadith.
The discussion also turns to the Salaf's intentions: why they set out to seek knowledge, what they hoped to gain, and what their journeys teach us about our own reasons for studying Islam.

Surah Yunus on Finding Your Way Back | #5 Tadabbur Series | Sheikh Mohamed Eid Almuhairi #AMAU
Show notes
A person memorises the Qur'an. He reminds others of Allah. Then one day, people hear that he has walked away from it all.
How does someone who once seemed so firm lose his way?
In Episode 5 of the Tadabbur series, Sheikh Mohamed Eid Almuhairi continues through Surah Yunus, where the verses move from people who notice Allah's signs in the smallest things to people who remain heedless even when the signs are all around them.
Then the questions become harder. Can your own actions put your guidance at risk? Why do you ask Allah for the straight path every day when you are already Muslim? And what does it say about a person who begs Allah through a hardship, only to forget Him as soon as it ends?
Surah Yunus asks you to look at what happened to those before you. Then it asks what you are doing with the guidance you have now.

What Will You Say When Allah Asks About Your Knowledge? | #13 Ta'iyyah Abu Ishaq al-Ilbiri
Show notes
In a blackout, the person holding the light becomes easy to notice. Knowledge can place you in a similar position: people begin to look at you, praise you and assume they know what you are worth.
But the people praising you may neither truly know you nor understand what knowledge really is. And their praise will mean very little when you stand before Allah and are asked what you did with everything you learnt.
In Episode 13 of the Ta'iyyah of Abi Ishaq al-Ilbiri, Sheikh Muhammad Tim Humble explores the responsibility that comes with knowledge and the test that can begin once a person becomes recognised for it.
You may know how much you have studied. Other people may know how knowledgeable you appear. But what will you say when Allah asks about your knowledge?

You Can Be Shown the Truth and Still Reject It | #12 Al-Hadi | Allah's Names & Attributes #AMAU
Show notes
You can know what is right, see the proof clearly, and still choose not to follow it. Abu Talib heard the call to Islam directly from the Prophet ﷺ. He understood the message and knew the language, yet died without accepting Islam.
His story reveals a distinction we cannot afford to overlook: being shown the right path is not the same as being granted the success to follow it.
Allah is Al-Hadi, The Guide. His guidance reaches every living creature. He shows people the truth through revelation and His messengers. But it is Allah alone who grants the Tawfeeq to accept that truth, act upon it, and remain steadfast.
In Episode 12 of Allah's Names and Attributes, Sheikh Muhammad Tim Humble explains the different forms of Allah's guidance, the consequences of turning away from the truth, and why even practising Muslims must continue asking Allah to guide them.
What are we really asking for every time we recite, "Guide us to the straight path"?

Can We Trust Hadith? | Hadith Preservation LIVE Webinar | Sheikh Muhammad Huzaifah
Show notes
You've probably seen it on Reddit, Instagram, X or TikTok. People questioning whether Hadith have really been preserved. Challenging why Muslims should follow the Sunnah. Claiming the Qur'an should be enough on its own.
And perhaps some of those arguments have made you stop and think. But how much do we actually know about what happened to Hadith after the Prophet ﷺ?
Were his words simply passed from person to person until someone finally wrote them down centuries later? Or is there an entire history of transmission and preservation that these arguments leave out?
Why does the Sunnah have authority in the first place? How did scholars decide whether a narrator could be trusted? What could expose a mistake buried inside a chain? And when fabrications appeared, how could anyone tell?
The deeper you go, the more interesting the story becomes.
In this live webinar, Sheikh Muhammad Huzaifah will put some of the biggest arguments against Hadith under scrutiny and follow the evidence wherever it leads.
No slogans. No "just believe". Come and investigate the claims for yourself.

Why You're Wasting Your Life | #2 How to be a Productive Muslim | Sheikh Muhammad Tim Humble
Show notes
You could read a thousand books trying to be more productive and still overlook a life-changing lesson found in just a few verses of the Qur'an. We all want to make better use of our time. Yet how often do we gain knowledge without acting upon it, put off good deeds until tomorrow, or spend hours doing things that benefit neither our Dunya nor our Akhirah?
But the danger goes beyond simply wasting a few hours. The Qur'an warns us about a far greater loss, one that no amount of worldly success can make up for. Yet it also tells us that some people will escape this loss. What makes them different?
In Episode 2 of *How to Be a Productive Muslim*, Sheikh Muhammad Tim Humble examines a short Surah through the lens of productivity, revealing a remarkable framework for making the most of our limited time.
What separates those who truly make the most of their lives from those who ultimately lose out, both in this world and the Hereafter?

NEW SERIES: How to Be From the People of the Qur'an | #1 Adab Before 'Ilm | Sheikh Muhammad Huzaifah
Show notes
What does it really take to be from the people of the Qur'an? Is it to memorise it in full? Recite it with beautiful Tajweed? Know the Tafseer of its Aayaat? Is that enough, or is there something more?
Here begins a new series in which Sheikh Abu Seereen Muhammad Huzaifah takes us through Mukhtasar Akhlaq Hamalat al-Qur'an, based on the work of Imam al-Ajurri, exploring the character, conduct and way of life that should accompany a Muslim's relationship with the Qur'an.
And this is not only for Huffadh.
It is for the student learning the Qur'an, the parent teaching it at home, the teacher passing it on, the student of knowledge - and every Muslim who wants a stronger relationship with the Speech of Allah.
Episode 1 begins with a principle the Salaf took seriously: Adab comes before seeking knowledge.
Because gaining knowledge is one thing. But what should that knowledge actually produce in you, and what if it is not changing the person carrying it?

Can't Go to a Muslim Country to Seek Knowledge? | #5 Majalis Ilmiyyah | Sh Abdullahi & Sh Tim Humble
Show notes
Ten years can pass while you are still telling yourself: "One day, I'll properly seek knowledge." You blame the lack of time. Your job. Your family. Where you live. The fact that you cannot travel. Maybe even your weak memorisation.
But then you meet or hear about students with those same responsibilities who somehow learnt Arabic, progressed through the Islamic sciences, and reached the point of teaching others!
So what are they doing differently?
In this Majalis Ilmiyyah episode, Sheikh Muhammad Tim Humble and Sheikh Abdullahi Abdisalam speak directly to students seeking knowledge in the West and other non-Muslim countries, and confront some of the habits and misunderstandings that can quietly leave a student stuck for years.
Why can thirty focused minutes sometimes take you further than hours of scattered study? Why do some students keep jumping from one programme to another without progressing? And what should you do when memorisation becomes so difficult that it starts blocking you from moving forward?
The path may be far more open than you think. But are you approaching it the right way?

NEW SERIES! How Far Would You Go for Knowledge? | Rihlah fi Talab Al-Hadith by Al-Khatib Al-Baghdadi
Show notes
There was a time when seeking Islamic knowledge meant leaving home without knowing when you would return. The Salaf crossed cities, countries and deserts. They endured hunger, thirst, loneliness and months on the road - sometimes to hear a single Hadith, and sometimes simply to verify one they had already received.
Our brand-new series, Travelling in Pursuit of Knowledge, follows those journeys.
With Sheikh Muhammad Huzaifah, we will accompany the Salaf through the paths they travelled, the scholars they sought, the hardships they endured and the moments that reveal just how highly they valued knowledge and the Sunnah.
These are not stories to admire and move past. They are stories of patience, worship, manners and aspirations that force us to reconsider our own relationship with knowledge.
But before we follow them on the road, we need to understand the road itself.
Why did travelling become such a defining feature of seeking Islamic knowledge?
And what could make a man travel for weeks… for just one Hadith?

Do You Feel Like You Have No One to Turn To? | As-Samad | #11 Allah's Names & Attributes #AMAU
Show notes
What happens when the thing you desperately need cannot be bought, planned for, or solved by anyone around you? When every ordinary means reaches its limit, where does the heart turn next? There is a reason people say, "There are no atheists on a sinking ship." Desperation has a way of exposing something we can easily forget when life feels under control.
Have you ever thought about why the heart turns to Allah when every other option disappears? And what does that reveal about how much we have always needed Him, even before things went wrong?
Your Du'a. Your Tawakkul. Where you seek refuge. Who you rely upon when you realise you cannot carry something yourself.
In Episode 11 of Allah's Names & Attributes, Sheikh Muhammad Tim Humble explains Allah's Name As-Samad - and why understanding it changes how you see both Allah's perfection and your own desperate need of Him.

6 Ayat. One Hidden Connection. | Surah Yunus - Tadabbur Series | Sheikh Mohamed Eid Almuhairi #AMAU
Show notes
When reading the Quran, you may understand the meaning of every Ayah you pass through, and still miss what the Surah is showing you as a whole. Why does Surah Yunus move from the challenge of the Qur'an, to the mission of the Messenger ﷺ, to Allah governing every affair, then suddenly to resurrection, punishment, the sun and the moon?
These are not disconnected ideas.
In this episode of the Tadabbur series, Sheikh Mohamed Eid Almuhairi begins Surah Yunus and shows how seemingly separate verses start building towards something much bigger.
Along the way, he examines "Qadama Sidqin" through the words of the Salaf, why no one can intercede except with Allah's permission, the terrifying levels of punishment in the Hellfire, and why two people can look at the same creation while only one truly benefits from its signs.

What Ruins a Student of Knowledge | #12 Ta'iyyah Abu Ishaq al-Ilbiri | Sheikh Muhammad Tim Humble
Show notes
You know the truth. You know what Allah wants from you. And you know the path you must take to find success. So why do desires still win? And what if the thing pulling you away is not even Haram? The Dunya. Wealth. Comfort. Marriage. Status. Things that look harmless - even good - can slowly take a place in your heart they were never meant to have.
But for a student of knowledge, the danger goes even further.
What happens when knowledge itself gives you standing, trust and influence among people? And what happens when Fitnah comes looking beautiful?
In this episode of the explanation of the great poem Ta'iyyah of Abu Ishaq al-Ilbiri, Sheikh Muhammad Tim Humble explains why knowing the path is not enough, how Ibn al-Qayyim taught us to overcome competing desires, and why a student of knowledge must sometimes guard himself more carefully than everyone else.
Because some people only recognise a Fitnah after it has already passed.

NEW SERIES! Falling in Love With Reading: The Forgotten Habit of Scholars | Sheikh Muhammad Huzaifah
Show notes
When was the last time you opened a beneficial book, and enjoyed reading it so much that didn't want to put it down? Some of us may wonder if that's even possible, right? We have never had more Islamic content within reach. Lectures. Clips. Podcasts. Posts. Endless information.
Yet somewhere in all of it, many of us have lost something the great scholars of this Ummah considered indispensable: a genuine love for reading.
In Falling in Love With Reading, Sheikh Muhammad Huzaifah takes us through the lives of scholars whose relationship with books was completely different. They read and reread. Copied books by hand. Taught them repeatedly. Travelled with them. Books did not merely occupy their shelves - they became among their closest companions.
This series is not simply about encouraging Muslims to read more. It is about rebuilding a relationship with reading that nurtures your Iman, deepens your understanding, raises your ambition, and helps you become a serious student of knowledge.
And Episode 1 confronts us with a striking thought:
If Ibn al-Jawzi was already warning about declining ambition more than 800 years ago, what would he say about an age of constant notifications, social media, endless entertainment and short-form content?
