Unlocking India’s Blue Bioeconomy
Season 1, Episode 1987
Show notes
In this episode of All Things Policy, Aditi Palo and Shambhavi Naik explore the untapped potential of seaweed cultivation in India’s Blue Bioeconomy. While recent enabling statutory reforms and marine biotechnology policies in Karnataka and Gujarat mark a significant shift toward high-value biomanufacturing, critical bottlenecks remain. The policies currently fail to resolve the sector’s core issues: a lack of comprehensive ocean resource mapping, the absence of secure, bankable property rights for farmers, and an industrial setup for value addition to seaweed. Aditi and Shambhavi discuss how Takshashila’s proposed Seaweed Ocean Lease (SOL) framework offers a viable institutional solution to drive seaweed cultivation growth further.

Green Cards, Leverage, Alliances
Season 1, Episode 1981
Show notes
On 8th October, the US Labour Secretary, with Vice President JD Vance beside him, suspended eight companies from PERM. This is the first step towards an employer-sponsored green card. Four of the eight are India's largest IT firms. Microsoft and Adobe are on the list too. The same day, a US admiral ended a six-day visit to Delhi after major joint military exercises.
Join Arindam Goswami and Brigadier Anil Raman in this episode of All Things Policy as they argue why it is time India stopped playing nice and why India should use its leverage in defence cooperation and other areas. In today’s episode, we will look at the geopolitical underpinnings and impact of these sorts of decisions. We will also test the main argument of the op-ed written by Anil on this issue. We will examine how the US midterms on 3rd November and China have probably had a bearing on this. And we will ask what the economic evidence says about the effect of such curbs on American innovation and wages.

In this episode of America Votes, Takshashila speaks to Professor Jim King about presidential popularity and its influence on congressional elections. We examine how national political sentiment translates into seats, and what losing control of Congress would mean for Trump. Senior Care: Where Do The Markets Stand?
Season 1, Episode 1977
Show notes
Malathi Renati is in conversation with Asheesh Gupta, co-founder of Samarth, one of India’s leading eldercare organisations, about how India is building, staffing and paying for care for its senior citizens.
Fact: India has close to 16 crore people aged 60 and above, and that number is expected to reach about 35 crore by 2050. From a senior citizen demographic of 7-10% currently to 20-25%.
More of their care is now bought: home attendants, nurses, care managers. Much of it sits outside any clear regulation. We must act now and establish policies to address these gaps.

America Votes | What Are We Watching?
Season 1, Episode 1974
Show notes
In this second episode of America Votes, the All Things Policy series on the 2026 US midterm elections, Brig. Raman speaks with Professor Ryan Williamson of the University of Wyoming about what the 3 November vote may reveal. The conversation focuses on President Trump's push to nationalise his party's campaign, the Republican tilt of the Senate map, strategic retirements and the growing weight of primaries. It also flags the races worth watching, from Maine and Texas to Alaska, Kansas and Iowa. The episode closes on three election night indicators. These are the uniformity of the swing, the gap between candidates and their party, and the seats each party wins per vote. The larger question is whether American elections still reward candidates or simply parties.

In this episode of All Things Policy, Dr Y. How China Makes Policy
Season 1, Episode 1971
Show notes
China is often seen as a highly centralised system where policy is decided at the top and simply implemented by the bureaucracy. But is Chinese policymaking really that straightforward? In this episode, Shreya Ramakrishnan speaks with Shobhankita Reddy about how policymaking actually works in China. They explore the iterative nature of the policymaking process, the different stakeholders who shape it, and how these dynamics are reflected in China’s approach to AI. A New Congress, A New Challenge for India-US Ties?
Season 1, Episode 1970
Show notes
In this episode of All Things Policy, Aditi Palo speaks with Abhishek Kadiyala about the impacts of an altered US Congress composition on India-US ties. In the past, the US Congress has proven to be a relatively consistent element in India-US ties and a reliable institution in times of political uncertainty. But early trends in the midterm elections indicate a shift towards a more ideologically divided composition of Congress, which could potentially erode this very reliability. Aditi and Abhishek unpack the uncertainties a fragmented Congress would bring in, and delve into the measures India could take to preserve the institutional foundations of this relationship.

America Votes | Why should India care?
Season 1, Episode 1969
Show notes
In this inaugural episode of 'America Votes', All Things Policy's series covering the US mid-terms, Brigadier Anil Raman and Abhishek Kadiyala cover the early trends in November elections. They discuss the process, the politics and its relevance for India. It frames the midterms as a contest for Congress, whose powers over war, tariffs and aid outlast any executive action. Tracing the President's record-low approval and Republican fears, the episode shows how American domestic politics now sets the cost and tone of ties with India. It argues that India remains strategically essential but politically disposable, and that a Democratic House will not undo American protectionism. Ultimately, it asks whether New Delhi must stop treating Congress as insurance against the executive and build constituencies on Capitol Hill.
