Will Submissive Peeing Go Away On Its Own? | Ep. 259
Episode 259
Show notes
“Excite” pee, “happy” pee, “affection” pee — these are all versions of submissive pee. It can be somewhat endearing when they’re young — they’re just so happy to see you that they can’t contain themselves!
But this “cute” puppy trait can quickly turn into a major messy habit and get worse as they get older, if it’s not addressed correctly and consistently early on.

Potty Accidents: Should Your Puppy Signal You? | Ep. 256
Episode 256
Show notes
Barking, whining, ringing a bell, scratching at the back door — shouldn’t your puppy be able to tell you when they need to potty?
That would be wonderful for many of us, but the truth is most pups do not give a natural cue to alert you that they need to go.
As they grow you may start to pick up on their “signs”, or even begin to teach them a signal for you BUT there’s other things we would recommend first to get control of those potty accidents at home and get them potty trained quick!

How Many Times A Day Should You Train Your Puppy? | Ep. 252
Episode 252
Show notes
Technically…whether you like to hear this or not, you are training your puppy ALL day everyday. Every moment is a learning moment, even when they are just resting.
But focused obedience training times are a bit different. When teaching your puppy a new command or building on one they know, usually puppies have a short attention span of 10-15 minutes. Knowing this, how many seasons each day should you do with your puppy?

Does Your Puppy Bite You When You Pet Them? | Ep. 245
Episode 245
Show notes
Ahhh the dream of relaxing on your couch with your puppy and petting them as you chill together…
Be honest: it doesn’t QUITE work out that well does it?!
Oh the idea is SO good, but there’s some problems here — puppies are excitable, they often don’t want to rest long (and haven’t learned to settle on command yet) and they get overstimulated very quickly. So when you pet them (and perhaps for a tiny bit too long) they usually start biting — and HARD!

Episode 244
Show notes
