Season 5 of Better Call Saul is really good, and we’re still surprised that the DVD features are… also good? They decided to start making them informative! We also read your responses to Season 5, and get ready for the final season.

Season 5 wraps up with a bang as Kim gives the finger guns and completes her transformation into Slippin’ Kimmy… set on staying with Jimmy and ruining Howard’s life. Speaking of ruined lives, uh oh Nacho! And Lalo’s not doing great either.

The cash is in the bag, and the bag is in the courthouse. Lalo walks free and Jimmy gives him a made-up story about what happened in the desert. But the desert follows Jimmy home as he struggles to process the carnage he saw, and Lalo outsmarts Gus’s entire operation before making it Jimmy and Kim’s problem. The uninterrupted 16 minute final scene is one of the tensest stretches of this show, so come listen to us gush about it.

With a little help from Mike, Jimmy has managed to do the impossible: get bail release for Lalo “Jorge de Guzman” Salamanca after the grisly murder of Fred Whalen. One hitch in the plan is that the $7 million dollars in cash needs a ride, and that results in some… complications. Does this pseudo-bottle episode keep working after its spectacle wears off?

This episode is a very strong argument for having initials that can’t be twisted around to make a motto that will haunt you for the rest of your days. The Jimmy and cartel plot lines collide as Lalo enlists him to arrange for bond, so he can escape being imprisoned for the murder of Fred Whalen. The problem is? He has to pick up the money.

This standout episode of season five sees the culmination of Jimmy and Kim’s plot against Kevin Wachtell… even if Kim tried to pull the plug at the last minute. This leads to a blow up with a very unpredictable outcome that gives us a lot to chew on.

Mike did a whoopsie and nearly got himself killed, so Gus kidnapped him to Mexico to heal him or make a very important point. Meanwhile, Kim and Jimmy start putting together a plan to save Mr. Acker's land.

When Howard sweeps in to give Jimmy the job offer he's waited more than a decade for, Jimmy has a... paradoxical reaction. Meanwhile Kim, Kim enlists his help with the Acker situation, and Gus sacrifices a lot of money to get the DEA off his back. Also, we argue over whether or not Mike was trying to commit suicide by dude.

Someone call Powerman 5000 because we’ve found out what it’s like when worlds collide. Following a cartoonish affair last episode, Jimmy’s plot and the cartel plot run straight into each other as Lalo reaches out to Jimmy to help clean up the mess with Krazy-8’s arrest.

What harm could deep deep discounts cause? There’s no way they could set off a chain reaction that leads directly or indirectly to the creation of a Heisenberg, right?

Season five begins with the (legal) creation of Saul Goodman, an alter ego Jimmy creates for his new law practice that lets him finally step out of his brother’s shadow. But Kim isn’t very happy with this, or Jimmy’s more brazen scheming. Meanwhile, Gus and Mike deal with the aftermath of Werner Ziegler’s escape, and Lalo’s new suspicion about their plans.

In this episode we say auf wiedersehen to season 4 by talking about the scant special features and deleted scenes on the DVDs, and we read your responses.

Whether or not Jimmy actually misses Chuck, or feels bad about what happened between them, is all up for debate. What’s not up for debate is that Jimmy has to put on a big sad smile and stage the biggest display of grief ever. And speaking of grief: we lose Werner Ziegler too soon.

We hope you’re ready for some really big emotions! Kim and Jimmy’s inability to talk to each other blows up in their faces as Jimmy gets rejected for his BAR reinstatement. Meanwhile, we’ve got Lalos about, poking into Gus’s business, which is a big problem because Werner’s gonna make a break for it.

If Jimmy wants to be a lawyer again, he needs Huell to not go to jail for lightly sandwiching a cop. Therefore, we need to commit some mail fraud. Meanwhile Werner Ziegler seals his fate, and Nacho has gone full Party Jesse mode.

Jimmy gets jealous over Kim's office, Mike tries to solve a workplace dispute, Gus is pleased with Hector's progress and ends his treatment.

Mike deals his outburst at therapy, Kim loses interest in her Mesa Verde work, Jimmy gets into the party decorating business.

Jimmy starts a side hustle. Kim is loving pro bono work. Mike starts his new life... under the ground.

Jimmy is really good at selling cell phones, Gus has Victor make some moves, Mike calls out a fake at his support group.
