  1. Brief Talk Podcast — Budgy Cub: Big Collections, Bold Colors & Body Confidence

    Show notes

Hey guys! This week on the Brief Talk Podcast, I’m heading Down Under—at least through the microphone—to chat with Budgy Cub. If you’ve seen his photos, you know the colorful swim briefs, the big smile, and the fact that this boy looks like he’s having a damn good time. Naturally, I had to get him on the show.

We talk about a swimwear collection that’s somewhere around 150 pairs, how he found the confidence to wear budgies in public, and a partner who happily joins in—and sometimes has the nerve to wear his spare pair better than he does. Rude. Very rude.

Of course, we get into underwear, too: micro briefs, thongs, bold Japanese designs, and why finding a comfortable pair can take a little experimenting. We also talk about something I could get on my soapbox about all day: body diversity. If we want brands to show more kinds of guys, we need to support those guys and the brands that include them.

You don’t need abs to enjoy amazing underwear or swimwear. You need something you love, a little room to build your confidence, and permission to have fun. And yes, I fully support adding another pair to the collection.

    Episode Highlights

Meet Budgy Cub: The Australian digital creative behind the colorful swimwear photos, and how a move from Sydney to Brisbane helped inspire his online name.

About 150 pairs—and counting: Favorite swim briefs, Pride colors, and why “budgie smugglers” means more than one particular brand in Australia.

Taking that first step: How a beach trip with his partner and best friend helped him get comfortable wearing swim briefs in public.

A partner who gets it: Gifting swimwear, sharing spare pairs, and a little friendly competition at the beach.

The great drawer divide: His color-sorted collection and file-folding technique meet my much less organized approach. Everything brings me joy. I’m keeping it.

Micro briefs, thongs, and finding the right fit: Early experiments with aussieBum, discovering more comfortable styles, and why one disappointing pair doesn’t mean a whole style is wrong for you.

Bring on the color: Japanese underwear designs, bold patterns, and the frustration of loving a design that doesn’t come in your size.

Representation needs follow-through: Why likes, comments, follows, and purchases matter when we ask brands to embrace more body types.

The people who inspire us: How Stevie, Undies Cub, helped Budgy Cub see himself in thongs—and why seeing different bodies wearing great gear matters.

Confidence at your own pace: Open shirts, shorts over swim briefs, a friend’s pool, and finding a setting where you feel comfortable

    enough to start.

  2. Brief Tale: Jeff on Swim Briefs, Confidence, and Being Yourself

    Show notes

Brief Tales: Jeff on Swim Briefs, Confidence, and Being Yourself

What starts with a love of underwear can become a much bigger conversation about identity, confidence, and living openly. In this Brief Tales episode, Tim welcomes Jeff, a Vancouver-based music industry professional, to share his journey from baggy boxers to briefs, bikinis, and embracing swim briefs in public.

Jeff opens up about body image, comparing yourself to other men, and learning that you don’t need a particular body type to wear what makes you feel good. Tim and Jeff also explore expectations around masculinity, differences in beach culture between North America and Europe, and the freedom that comes with letting go of other people’s opinions.

Working in artist management, including the country music world, Jeff explains why being authentic matters professionally as well as personally. He shares how a lack of representation held him back early in his career—and why he now wants others to see that they can succeed while being themselves.

    In this episode:

    • Jeff’s early interest in underwear and his progression toward smaller styles.
    • Finding the confidence to wear swim briefs without waiting for a “perfect” body.
    • Challenging shame and narrow expectations of masculinity.
    • Bringing your authentic self to work and social media.
    • Building lasting connections through community and shared interests.
    • Supporting each other’s self-expression in a relationship.
    • Making room for creativity, including Jeff’s interest in drawing.

    Show notes

Brief Talk Podcast — Frank: Speedos, Thongs & Finding Your Confidence

You don’t need a perfect body to wear the swimwear you love.

This week, UNB Tim welcomes Frank, known on Instagram as @speedosandthongscub, for a conversation about body confidence, swim briefs, thongs, and finding your community. Frank shares how he went from keeping his swimwear photos private to creating an Instagram page—and how taking that chance opened doors he never expected.

They discuss Frank’s first visit to Thongers Weekend in Fort Lauderdale, the welcoming mix of body types, and why being around guys who share your interests can make such a difference. Frank also recounts a rare negative comment in public, his frustrations with Instagram restrictions, and his approach to poolside outfit changes. Bringing a backpack full of swimwear? Absolutely. Remembering water? That’s another story.

Frank explains how his graphic design experience led to creating the Winged Leopard print for NoRudos. He also shares his favorite swimwear makers, his love of superhero spandex, and a preview of another design collaboration.

The message throughout: wear what makes you feel good, find people who support you, and stop waiting for the “perfect” body to enjoy yourself.

    IN THIS EPISODE

    • Building confidence to wear swim briefs and thongs publicly.
    • Moving from private photos to sharing on Instagram.
    • Finding a welcoming community at Thongers Weekend.
    • Packing multiple suits and planning poolside changes.
    • Favorite swimwear makers, including NoRudos, Disney Stitcher, and RAZE.

  5. Brief Talk Podcast – Jocks, Geeks & Building Sweaty Johnson

    Show notes

This week on the Brief Talk Podcast, UNB Tim sits down with Scott, founder of Sweaty Johnson, a jockstrap brand that combines classic inspiration, premium fabrics, comfort, humor, and a whole lot of personality.

Scott shares the unexpected story behind starting Sweaty Johnson after working long hours in the oil industry, stepping away to run a nonprofit, and eventually deciding he wanted to build something of his own. Even the name has a family connection—Scott’s last name is Johnson, and his dad was the one who suggested “Sweaty Johnson.”

From there, Tim and Scott get deep into jockstraps.

Scott explains why Sweaty Johnson doesn’t simply put its logo on an existing product. The brand develops its own pouches and focuses heavily on fabrics, construction, waistband proportions, comfort, and fit. The lineup includes classic cotton jocks, incredibly soft micromodal options, and performance styles designed to provide more support for guys wearing them through workouts, dancing, events, or long nights out.

Tim immediately gravitates toward the Icon jock, with its striped waistband and unmistakable old-school athletic-jock inspiration. The two talk about what made vintage jocks so memorable, why the pouch is such an important part of the design, and how a modern jock can still capture that classic look without sacrificing comfort.

They also talk thongs, whale tails, limited-edition gear, and Sweaty Johnson’s wildly successful 24-hour releases. Scott shares how one of the brand’s May the Fourth-inspired drops sold close to 10,000 jocks in just 24 hours.

Another major part of Sweaty Johnson is the photography. Rather than relying only on the traditional six-pack underwear model, Scott uses friends of different body types, ages, and backgrounds. The result is a brand that feels much more like real guys having fun in underwear.

Scott and Tim also compare notes from behind the scenes of underwear photo shoots: finding photographers, organizing models, preparing every look in advance, dealing with locations, keeping everyone comfortable, and why a great photographer is worth every penny.

Of course, running an underwear company isn’t all jocks and photo shoots. Scott and Tim somehow end up bonding over one of the least glamorous parts of owning a business—sales tax.

Scott also hints that Sweaty Johnson has much more coming, including expansion of the jock collection and products beyond jockstraps.

If you love classic athletic jocks, modern pouch design, premium fabrics, independent underwear brands, or just hearing how a brand actually gets built, this is a fun conversation with one of the more memorable names in men’s underwear.

  6. Brief Talk Podcast — Spandex, Confidence & Himbo Life with Shannon

    Show notes

This week on the Brief Talk Podcast, UNB Tim sits down with Shannon, known online as Himbo Bright, for a fun, candid conversation about spandex, skimpy underwear, and finding the confidence to wear what makes you feel good.

Shannon traces his love of tight-fitting gear back to superheroes, gymnastics, and the styles that caught his attention growing up. From bodybuilding magazines and Undergear catalogs to thongs, singlets, and colorful gym looks, he shares how those interests became part of his personal style.

Tim and Shannon also tackle the double standards around men wearing revealing clothing, the pressure to fit traditional ideas of masculinity, and how exploring a persona can help build confidence in everyday life. Shannon explains what being a himbo means to him: kindness, playfulness, self-expression, and a little less pressure to take everything so seriously.

Plus, get to know Shannon’s brand, Himbo Stuff, and his vision for combining cheeky humor, bright colors, and gear that helps people feel comfortable being themselves.

The takeaway? You don’t need a perfect body—or someone else’s permission—to enjoy what you wear.

  7. Brief Talk Podcast – The Crimson Ginger: The Reality Behind Posting Underwear Pics

    Show notes

Chris, better known online as the Crimson Ginger, returns to Brief Talk for a one-on-one conversation with UNB Tim about something that looks easy from the outside but takes a surprising amount of work: consistently posting underwear pics online.

Chris has been sharing his underwear pics for about six years, but even he admits that what looks like a perfectly consistent posting schedule isn’t always what it seems. He and Tim talk about creating a backlog of photos, posting pictures days—or even weeks—after they’re taken, and why delaying posts can be a smart move for both privacy and personal safety.

From there, they get into the actual process behind Chris’s pictures. Chris shares how he uses his iPhone, Apple Watch, a Bluetooth remote, a ring light, and the three-second timer to get his shots. Surprisingly, he doesn’t take hundreds of photos looking for the perfect one. Usually, it’s a simple front, side, and back—and he’s done.

But taking the picture is only part of it.

Tim and Chris discuss the pressure that can come when people start expecting daily content. Followers asking, What are you wearing? Why didn’t you post today? Where’s today’s picture? can quickly turn something fun into another job. Chris talks about trying to keep posting enjoyable even when work, relationships, and everyday life get in the way.

They also get into something that doesn’t get discussed enough: boundaries.

Chris is comfortable showing off, but he still respects the boundaries he and his partner have established around what gets posted on certain platforms. It’s a great example of why communication matters when you’re in a relationship and sharing underwear, swimwear, gear, or more revealing content online.

Plus, Tim and Chris talk about being your own worst critic, finding poses that work for you, losing social accounts, keeping years of photos on your phone, social media privacy, and one very important rule:

Never casually swipe through someone else’s camera roll. You have been warned.

It’s a fun and candid conversation about what really happens behind those underwear pics we scroll past every day—and a reminder that there’s an actual person with a life behind every account.

  8. Brief Talk Podcast – The Roof Cowboy: Confidence, Thongs, and Wearing What You Love

    Show notes

Brian, better known online as the Roof Cowboy, joins UNB Tim for a fun and honest conversation about swimwear, thongs, confidence, and stepping outside your comfort zone.

Brian shares how his background as a competitive swimmer made Speedos familiar—but wearing a thong publicly required an entirely different kind of confidence. He recounts trying his first thong at the Hard Rock, walking to the bar alone, and discovering that most people were far more supportive than he expected.

The conversation explores Brian’s journey from roofing and storm chasing to modeling and content creation, including his work with Skinzwear. Brian explains why his content has become less about making money and more about helping other men feel confident, comfortable, and accepted in whatever they choose to wear.

Brian and Tim also discuss the assumptions people make about men in thongs and swim briefs, navigating reactions from partners, the double standards surrounding men’s swimwear, and why representation matters. Plus, Brian talks about bold prints, favorite brands, sharing extra thongs with curious guys, his book-cover modeling, and the humorous Skinzwear reels that have made him a favorite on social media.

At its heart, this episode is about trying something new, owning what makes you feel good, and realizing that confidence grows every time you step beyond what feels comfortable.

  9. Brief Talk Podcast – Underwear, Authenticity, and Unsolicited Opinions

    Show notes

Eric, better known as The Jocker Room, returns to Brief Talk for an honest conversation about body image, social media, personal boundaries, and the assumptions people make when someone posts photos in underwear.

The conversation begins with an unexpected DM asking Eric whether he was using a weight-loss medication. Although the message was intended as a compliment, it raised a larger question: Why do people feel entitled to comment on someone else’s weight or speculate about what they’re doing with their body?

Tim and Eric explore how unsolicited feedback can go in both directions—from pressure to lose weight and build muscle to fetishizing weight gain. They also discuss how apps and social media can strip the humanity from interactions, turning real people into bodies to evaluate, sexualize, or make demands of.

But social media isn’t entirely negative. Eric shares how posting underwear photos has helped him build confidence, connect with others, and develop genuine friendships within the underwear community. He also explains why he turned off replies to his Instagram Stories—and how that decision resulted in fewer empty reactions and more meaningful conversations.

Along the way, Tim and Eric discuss giving better compliments, setting realistic personal goals, the rising price of underwear, and why underwear can be such a personal and vulnerable form of self-expression for gay men.

This episode is a reminder that there is always a real person behind the photo—and that a thoughtful conversation means far more than another fire emoji.

    • Unsolicited comments about weight and weight-loss medication
    • How compliments can reinforce harmful body standards
    • Fetishizing weight loss and weight gain
    • Establishing boundaries in DMs and on social media
    • Why posting underwear doesn’t imply consent or sexual availability
    • The difference between thirst traps and community building

    • Finding confidence through posting photos
    • Why underwear can be connected to identity, sexuality, and vulnerability

  10. Brief Talk Podcast – Dating, Kinks, and Communication: When to Be Honest with Dr Ty

    Show notes

One of the biggest questions we hear from listeners is:

“When do I tell someone I’m into underwear?”

Whether your passion is briefs, bikinis, thongs, jocks, lingerie, spandex, or another fetish, talking about it with a partner can feel intimidating. Should you bring it up on the first date? Wait until you’re in a relationship? What if you’ve been together for years and have never said anything?

This week, UNB Tim sits down with clinical sexologist and sex therapist Dr. Ty to answer those questions and many more.

Together they explore how to communicate openly about kinks, why honesty builds stronger relationships, and why shame has no place in healthy sexuality.

This conversation isn’t just about underwear—it’s about authenticity, communication, and finding partners who accept you for who you really are.

    In This Episode

    • Why the timing of sharing your kink depends on how important it is to your sexuality
    • The difference between a casual interest, a fetish, and a primary kink
    • Why honesty early in dating can actually save relationships
    • How hiding a major kink can unintentionally feel like a “bait and switch”
    • The “Share-Check” method for introducing fantasies and kinks gradually
    • Ways to test the waters before having a deeper conversation
    • Why trying new things together can strengthen long-term relationships
    • How couples discover new turn-ons through curiosity and communication
    • Why underwear is often much less “extreme” than people imagine
    • Breaking down shame around kinks and sexual interests
    • The importance of consent, communication, and mutual respect
    • Why you don’t owe everyone an explanation of your sexuality
    • Finding community if you feel like you’re the only one

    Key Takeaways

    • Honest communication builds healthier relationships.
    • Your partner can’t support something they don’t know about.
    • Curiosity is healthier than shame.
    • Not every partner will share your kink—and that’s okay.
    • Being authentic helps you find people who truly accept you.
    • There is no “right” kink as long as it’s safe, consensual, and legal.
    • You are far from alone.

The conversation also highlights the continuing stigma many men face when wearing thongs, lace, jocks, or other non-traditional styles, particularly among straight and bi men who often face additional scrutiny from partners, friends, and society.

Whether you’re a longtime thong wearer or simply curious about trying something new, this episode encourages listeners to wear what makes them feel good and stop worrying so much about what others think.

  14. Brief Talk Podcast – Fear, Confidence & Being Yourself with Travis Kent

    Show notes

This week on the Brief Talk Podcast, Tim sits down with Travis Kent for one of the most honest and thoughtful conversations we’ve had in a while. What starts as a discussion about thongs, body positivity, and feeling comfortable in your own skin quickly turns into a deeper conversation about confidence, fear, consent, authenticity, anxiety, and what it really means to show up as yourself.

Travis talks about growing up in a very heteronormative environment where underwear choices were limited to what society deemed “acceptable” for men. As he became more comfortable with who he was, he began exploring different styles of underwear and swimwear as forms of comfort and self-expression. For him, wearing thongs isn’t about showing off — it’s about feeling present in his body and embracing what makes him feel good.

One of the biggest topics of the episode centers around a reel Travis posted discussing the difference between body positivity and sexual solicitation. He explains how many people mistake confidence, comfort, or minimal clothing as an invitation for sexual attention or inappropriate behavior. The conversation expands into how often consent is ignored in gay spaces and why it’s important for the LGBTQ community to continue challenging normalized behaviors around touching, harassment, and personal boundaries.

Tim and Travis also dive into the pressures many gay men feel in their twenties to fit into certain expectations and personas before eventually learning to embrace who they truly are. Travis shares how he stopped curating himself for the approval of others and began showing up more authentically online and in life.

Another major takeaway from the episode is Travis’ perspective on fear and confidence. He shares the idea that confidence doesn’t have to come first in order to try something new. Sometimes growth comes from challenging fear directly instead of waiting to feel ready. It’s a message that applies to everything from wearing a Speedo for the first time to speaking up for yourself in uncomfortable situations.

The episode also touches on anxiety, mental health, and Travis’ love of crochet and fiber arts. He explains how crochet has become both an artistic outlet and a calming practice that helps regulate anxiety and quiet the mind through repetitive movement and creative focus.

This episode is thoughtful, vulnerable, funny, and full of moments that will probably make you stop and think about your own experiences with confidence, fear, authenticity, and community.

What started with seeing go-go dancers at a club turned into a full love of bold swimwear, thong culture, and building confidence through self-expression.

Joey shares how he first experimented with thongs, the brands he loves, and how travel helped him become more comfortable wearing them publicly. From Punta Cana and Hawaii to Palm Springs and Hollywood Beach in Chicago, the conversation dives into the freedom and confidence that comes from finding the right gear and the right community.

The guys also discuss thong tan lines versus Speedo tan lines, favorite brands like Hunk, Grand Axis, N2N, MCE, and Glute God, and why bold prints and daring cuts make swimwear even more fun. Joey opens up about encouraging his boyfriend and even straight friends to try thongs for the first time — and how many end up loving them once they give them a chance.

There’s also a bigger conversation about community. Tim and Joey talk about the importance of creating spaces where guys can feel comfortable wearing what they love without judgment. From Thongers Weekend to future Free the Bulge travel ideas, this episode is all about confidence, friendship, and building a supportive community around self-expression.

If you’ve ever been curious about trying a thong, wearing a Speedo publicly, or just embracing more confidence in your own skin, this episode is for you.

  16. Brief Talk Podcast – White Briefs, Retro Ads & Australian Underwear Culture with Thomas

    Show notes

White Briefs, Retro Ads & Australian Underwear Culture with Thomas

This week on the Brief Talk Podcast, UNB Tim sits down with Thomas from Melbourne, Australia for a fun and unexpectedly nostalgic conversation about white briefs, retro underwear ads, Australian underwear culture, and discovering your style through movies, media, and vintage aesthetics. What starts as a chat about classic white briefs quickly turns into a deep dive into growing up influenced by American media, collecting vintage underwear advertisements, and why traditional white briefs still hold a special place for gear lovers today.

Thomas shares how movies like 13 Going on 30, The Little Rascals, and even The Jungle Book helped shape his fascination with white briefs growing up in Australia, where they’ve never been quite as mainstream as they were in the United States. The two compare the differences between American and Australian underwear culture, from department store shopping to the struggle of finding classic full-cut briefs in today’s boxer brief dominated world.

The conversation also covers Thomas’s journey through brands like Calvin Klein, Jockey, Stafford, Fruit of the Loom, Hanes, and Australian labels including Holeproof, Bonds, and Max. There’s plenty of talk about retro styling, why Stafford briefs have become legendary among white brief fans, and how vintage-inspired underwear still resonates today.

One of the highlights of the episode is hearing about Thomas’s collection of framed vintage underwear advertisements decorating his home — including classic Fruit of the Loom ads, PlayStation campaigns featuring guys in white briefs, and 1950s family-themed underwear artwork. Tim and Thomas bond over their shared love of retro underwear advertising and preserving pieces of underwear history that many people overlook as art.

The two also dive into Speedos, short shorts, retro masculinity, gay nostalgia, underwear representation in books and media, and why gear lovers deserve better representation in romance stories. Tim even teases his upcoming gay romance novel centered around underwear culture, vintage-inspired briefs, and gear-loving characters who actually understand that sometimes the underwear should stay on.

If you love white briefs, retro underwear ads, classic menswear aesthetics, Speedos, or hearing two gear enthusiasts nerd out over vintage underwear culture, this is an episode you won’t want to miss.

  17. Brief Talk Podcast – Sweet Inspiration: The Story Behind Pan Dulce Papis Swimwear

    Show notes

    pan dolce

In this episode of the Brief Talk Podcast, UNB Tim sits down with Jesse Pellegrin, the founder of Pan Dulce Papis, a new swimwear brand designed specifically for thicker, beefier guys who want more than the same old boring black swim briefs.

The idea for the brand started at a gay pool party in Las Vegas, where Jesse noticed a familiar pattern: muscular guys had access to all the fun, colorful swimwear, while thicker men were often left with limited and uninspiring options. That moment sparked the idea to create something different — swimwear that celebrates bigger bodies with bold designs, culture, and personality.

Drawing inspiration from his Mexican heritage, Jesse created designs influenced by pan dulce (Mexican sweet bread), playful imagery, and vibrant colors that bring culture and humor into swimwear. The result is a brand that blends confidence, authenticity, and representation for guys who rarely see themselves reflected in swimwear marketing.

Jesse also shares the behind-the-scenes realities of launching a brand solo — from designing patterns and ordering prototypes to building the website and even stepping in as the model when the original shoot fell through.

What started as a fun idea has become a growing brand with new designs already on the way, including a limited Pride edition swim brief inspired by colorful Santa Monica sunsets.

Most importantly, Jesse wants his brand to help people feel comfortable in their bodies and confident wearing swim briefs — whether at a pool party, the beach, or anywhere else.

As Tim says in the episode: thick boys look amazing in Speedos — and it’s time the industry caught up.

  18. Brief Talk Podcast – Neurospicy Minds: ADHD, Autism, and Finding Confidence in What You Love

    Show notes

    Episode Title:

Neurospicy Minds: ADHD, Autism, and Finding Confidence in What You Love

    ⸻

    Show Notes

This week on the Brief Talk Podcast, UNB Tim is joined once again by Andrew—along with his wife—for a conversation that goes deeper than our usual underwear talk. But trust us… it still comes back to underwear.

In this episode, the discussion explores mental health, neurodivergence, and self-understanding—including ADHD, autism spectrum traits, dyslexia, and how these experiences shape the way we interact with the world.

Andrew shares his journey of discovering he had ADHD inattentive type, the struggles he faced growing up in school, and how learning more about neurodivergence later in life opened the door to deeper conversations about identity, relationships, and personal interests. The conversation eventually led to a surprising realization that he may also fall somewhere on the autism spectrum—something that helped explain patterns in communication, emotional connection, and even his passion for underwear.

Tim also opens up about his own experiences with dyslexia, ADHD traits, hyperfocus, and the process of finally seeking a diagnosis as an adult. The conversation touches on the frustrations many neurodivergent people face when trying to find testing, support, and understanding later in life.

Along the way, the discussion dives into:

    • ADHD inattentive vs. hyperactive types
    • Executive function struggles and how they affect daily life
    • The challenges of adult diagnosis
    • Autism spectrum traits and relationships
    • “Special interests” and how they shape passions
    • Why underwear can be more than just clothing
    • Masculinity, identity, and wearing what makes you feel confident
    • The overlap between ADHD, autism, and OCD traits
    • Giving yourself grace for how your brain works

One of the most powerful takeaways from this episode is the idea that there’s nothing wrong with liking what you like. Whether it’s underwear, sports, art, or something else entirely—our interests are part of who we are.

As Andrew puts it, understanding how your brain works can give you the tools to live with more confidence, self-acceptance, and clarity.

If you’ve ever wondered why your brain works the way it does—or why you’re drawn to certain passions—this episode may resonate with you more than you expect.

And yes… we still talk underwear.

  19. Brief Talk Podcast – Editor’s Note

    Show notes

In this special Editor’s Note episode, UNB Tim opens up about what’s been happening behind the scenes with the podcast, the blog, and life in general. From a major website hosting disaster to balancing two jobs, school, and mental health, this episode is a candid and honest look at the challenges of running an independent podcast and community.

Tim talks about why some episodes have been delayed, what’s coming next for the podcast, and how listeners can help support the show moving forward.

    ⸻

    Topics Covered

    Website Hosting Disaster

Tim shares the story of trying to move the UNB site to a new hosting provider — and how things went very wrong.

    • Attempted migration to a new hosting service

    • Account login issues caused by “Sign in with Apple” hiding the email

    • Paying for a professional migration service

    • Website suddenly going down with a 403 error

    • Logging into the server to discover all site files missing

    • Hours spent troubleshooting and dealing with support

    • Ultimately restoring the site from a backup

Lesson learned: Always have backups of your website.

    ⸻

Why Podcast Episodes Have Been Delayed

Tim explains why the usual podcast schedule has been disrupted.

    Current responsibilities include:

    • Working two jobs

    • Attending school

    • Studying for cybersecurity midterms

    • Managing the blog and podcast

    • Handling technical issues

Because of this, episodes may not always come out on the usual schedule.

    However:

    • Recorded episodes will still be released

    • The podcast is not going anywhere

    ⸻

    Mental Health & Burnout

The hosting issue was the moment that pushed everything over the edge after months of stress.

    Tim discusses:

    • Financial pressure

    • Exhaustion from balancing work, school, and content creation

    • Feeling overwhelmed and burned out

He also talks about beginning the process of getting official testing for learning differences, including:

    • ADHD

    • Dyslexia

    • Dysgraphia

Growing up, Tim often felt something was different about how he processed information but struggled to get help. Now he’s finally taking steps to better understand how his brain works and develop better coping strategies.

    ⸻

    Studying With Dyslexia & Acronyms

Tim shares one of the biggest challenges in his cybersecurity program: acronyms.

Cybersecurity fields are filled with acronyms, which can be especially difficult for people with dyslexia.

To help study and understand the material, Tim often:

    • Uses tools like ChatGPT to break down concepts

    • Studies late at night after work

    • Builds structured notes and binders to keep things organized

    ⸻

The Cost of Running the Podcast

Running the podcast costs about $175 per month, including:

    • Podcast hosting

    • Riverside recording software

    • Canva

    • Audio processing tools

    • Other production services

    Currently:

    • Patreon brings in about $130 per month

    • That leaves roughly $40 short each month

The goal is to grow Patreon support so the podcast can continue and expand.

    ⸻

    Patreon Updates

Patreon will now include a free membership tier that acts as a newsletter.

    Plans include:

    • Weekly or bi-weekly updates

    • Podcast announcements

    • Behind-the-scenes content

    • Community updates

Support tiers help cover podcast costs and allow Tim to invest more into improving the show.

    ⸻

    Merch Ideas Wanted

Tim is also exploring new merch options and wants listener feedback.

    Current merch includes:

    • Podcast logo shirts

    • Coffee mugs

    • Mousepads

    • Hats (including the popular Thong Slut hats)

    Possible future ideas include:

    • Minimal logo merch

    • Bold statement pieces

    • New hats

    • Community-driven designs

Listeners are encouraged to share ideas.

    • Bikini Club – a fun new concept launching on the blog

    • A State of the Industry podcast

    • Results from the last two reader surveys

    • A completely redesigned community-focused reader survey

Future surveys will focus more on:

    • Podcast listeners

    • Community engagement

    • Connecting directly with readers and listeners

    ⸻

One of Tim’s main goals this year is to connect more directly with listeners.

    Ideas include:

  20. Brief Talk Podcast – Thong Show Couples Edition with Stevie and Fred

    Show notes

    The Thong Show: Couple Edition

On this episode of the Brief Talk Podcast, I’m joined by returning guest Stevie (UndiesCub) and his partner Fred for a fun, candid conversation about relationships, underwear confidence, and of course… thongs.

If you’ve followed Stevie over the years, you already know he’s one of the biggest advocates for confidence, body positivity, and living your best thong life. Now Fred has joined the journey, and the two of them are embracing underwear freedom together.

We talk about everything from rediscovering thongs as a couple, traveling to Puerto Vallarta for Beef Dip, underwear shopping adventures, and how the right pair of underwear can completely change how you feel.

This episode is part relationship conversation, part underwear talk, and a lot of laughs along the way.

    ⸻

    What We Talk About

    Rediscovering Thongs

Fred shares how he used to wear thongs years ago but stopped because previous partners weren’t into them. After trying some of Stevie’s pairs again, he realized something:

“I looked in the mirror and thought… that’s sexy. I like the way my butt looks.”

And just like that, the thong revival began.

    ⸻

    How Stevie & Fred Met

The two met during Bear Week in Provincetown, where Stevie was confidently rocking a thong swimsuit at the Boatslip pool.

Fred had already noticed him earlier walking down Commercial Street and thought:

“He’s hot… I want to talk to him.”

A pool conversation later—and the rest is history.

    ⸻

    Puerto Vallarta & Beef Dip

The couple recently returned from Beef Dip in Puerto Vallarta, which has become a thong-friendly destination for a lot of guys.

Stevie talked about how years ago he was often one of the only guys wearing a thong at events like this.

    Now?

    It’s almost half the crowd.

    Confidence spreads.

    ⸻

    Shopping for Underwear Together

One of the fun parts of the episode is hearing about their underwear shopping trips, including shopping in Mexico City where Fred tried on several new pairs.

He discovered new favorites including Breedwell mesh thongs, which he says feel like wearing nothing at all.

Stevie also admits he enjoys shopping for his partner:

“I feel like I’m playing with my Ken doll over here.”

    ⸻

Confidence & Wearing What You Love

One of the biggest themes of the episode is something I always talk about on the podcast:

Wear what makes you feel sexy.

Fred talks about how Stevie helped him feel more comfortable wearing thongs in public at beaches and pool parties.

Because confidence is the real secret.
