  2. POST-GAME REPLAY: Browns Get Humbled in Week 8 Loss to Steelers

    Episode 1845

    Show notes

Jake, Brad, and Anthony react to yet another lopsided loss in Pittsburgh. The Browns lost two early fumbles, committed penalties, missed tackles and were beaten up front. Jake points to three turning points: Jaylen Warren’s 51-yard draw on third-and-13, a 27-yard run before halftime that set up a touchdown for a 20-6 lead, and a fourth-quarter stall at the 2-yard line. Watson was sacked eight times, Pittsburgh out-pressured Cleveland 27-4, and Warren ran for 149 yards against what is now the league’s worst run defense. The guys question the game plans on both sides, the offense’s lack of quick answers, and how they respond from here. They also discuss injury concerns for key players like Carson Schwesinger and Tyson Campbell, more.

  4. Final Week 8 Updates From Berea, Key Matchup Notes Against the Steelers, and Week 9 CFB Picks

    Episode 1843

    Show notes

Jake and Brad preview the trip to Pittsburgh. Tytus Howard missed practice and looks unlikely to play, which would leave Dawand Jones against T.J. Watt. The Steelers’ banged-up receiver room points to a heavy 12-personnel, run-first plan, so the guys say stopping the run and forcing passing downs into man coverage is the key. On offense, Cleveland needs a fast start and an early passing game to loosen up a stout Pittsburgh run defense. They also preview the rest of the NFL slate and the league’s trade boom, then make their college picks with Brad now leading.

  9. Victory Monday Edition: Recapping the Browns 27-24 Win Over the Titans

    Episode 1838

    Show notes

The Browns are 5-2 after a 27-24 win in Tennessee, and we have the replay of the post-game where the crew breaks down a game featuring the offense carrying the team for the first time this season.

Brad opens with KC Concepcion’s breakout day, 129 receiving yards plus 23 on the ground. The panel agrees this was Deshaun Watson’s best game of the year: clean processing, smart throwaways, and a poised final drive into a blitz that set up Andre Szmyt’s game-winner. Anthony points out that the young skill core of Concepcion, Harold Fannin Jr., Quinshon Judkins, and Denzel Boston combined for 343 yards, which is exactly what the front office drafted them for. The guys dig into the 491-yard offensive output, the run game’s efficiency by personnel grouping, Spencer Fano’s clean day in pass protection, and the counter bash concepts that kept gashing Tennessee.

On defense, they cover a rare off day: Tony Pollard’s 130 rushing yards, late coverage busts, and the fourth-and-1 goal-line stop and Denzel Ward interception that kept the game within reach. The episode closes with the big question of whether this 5-2 start is sustainable or another 2023-style mirage, the case for Watson’s future in Cleveland, and game balls.

    Episode 1835

The conversation begins with the Titans’ disappointing 1-5 start, the challenges facing second-year quarterback Cam Ward, and an offense struggling with consistency despite improvements along the offensive line and at wide receiver. They examine Tennessee’s predictable rushing attack and the difficulties it could face against Cleveland’s aggressive defense. The discussion then shifts to Robert Saleh’s defensive scheme, its heavy use of Cover 4 and Cover 6, and the secondary’s growing comfort within the system. Jake and Justin highlight key defenders, including Jeffery Simmons, rookie Anthony Hill, Cordale Flott and Amani Hooker, while discussing Alontae Taylor’s surprising benching. They close with Tennessee’s injury situation, rookie edge rusher Keldric Faulk’s development, and an early look at the 2027 NFL Draft, including Cleveland’s two first-round picks.

  13. Browns Vibing at 4-2: Watson’s Party, Jeudy’s Future, the Looming Dilemma at QB & the Path Forward

    Episode 1834

    Show notes

Brad Ward and Anthony Moeglin return for the Thursday edition of Browns Film Breakdown as Cleveland prepares to face the Tennessee Titans at 4-2. The guys open with the Browns entering a game as betting favorites for the first time this season, the unusually low point total, and the challenges of three consecutive road games. They also examine an unusual scheduling stretch that will eventually keep Cleveland at home for nearly six weeks.

The conversation moves to roster transactions, the Browns' punting situation, and the importance of hidden yardage for a team relying heavily on its defense. Brad and Anthony examine the latest injury reports for Cleveland and Tennessee, including the potential returns of Mason Graham, Quinshon Judkins, and Dylan Sampson. They also discuss the running back rotation and why Jaleel McLaughlin deserves more opportunities after injecting some life into Cleveland's struggling ground game.

Attention turns to Tennessee's struggles and the uncertain future of rookie quarterback Cam Ward before the conversation expands into a fascinating debate about the 2027 NFL Draft quarterback class. Drew Mestemaker, Austin Simmons, Darian Mensah, CJ Carr, Dante Moore, Trinidad Chambliss, and Arch Manning all enter the discussion. Brad and Anthony disagree on certain prospects, discuss whether the Browns should package their first-round picks to move up for a franchise quarterback, and explore the alternative of targeting an experienced NFL quarterback.

Following the break, the guys react to controversial comments from Jay Crawford suggesting Cleveland's unexpected victories could ultimately hurt its draft position. Brad and Anthony push back on the idea of meaningless wins for a 4-2 team, emphasizing the development of the young roster, the importance of establishing a winning culture, and when the Browns should legitimately enter the playoff conversation.

The discussion shifts to the increasingly positive atmosphere surrounding the team, from players dancing at practice to Deshaun Watson hosting a team-wide celebration at his house. The guys examine the genuine chemistry developing inside the locker room and why those experiences could have lasting benefits for Cleveland's young players.

Finally, Brad and Anthony react to Jerry Jeudy's comments regarding trade speculation, his changing role in the offense, and the value he continues to provide despite fewer opportunities. They explain why keeping Jeudy could prove important if Cleveland remains in contention. The show wraps up with some Guardians and Cavaliers conversation before turning the focus toward Sunday's matchup in Tennessee.
