Season 1

  1. Return Policy

    Episode 1

    Show notes

The recently deceased Chip Clearly and Bonita von Wangencamp adjust to their afterlife – as proprietors of “The Bootique” in the town of Curdle Holler. Chip and Bonita need more fright power to reimburse their customers, or Sheriff Bones Malone will throw them in monster jail. While seeking help, they’ll meet kooky Holler residents like: Rotchester, the skulking store manager; Pumpkin, an anthropomorphic pumpkin, Minerva, a skilled inventor with “brains”; the urbane and mysterious Old Coot; and the surly skeleton sheriff.

As the sheriff’s deadline draws near, our newest Curdle Holler residents will also learn about an upcoming election (between Caretaker Belfry Batsinger and challenger Albert Ghost), and begin to ponder their true purpose in this strange new town.

Life is hard, it seems, even when you’re dead.

The sheriff delivers at-risk youth to The Bootique, and Bonita uncovers a crisis while checking Instagrim: the troubled teens have released dancing flowers throughout Curdle Holler, mesmerizing its residents with an inane, cheerful song. Now, Chip and Bonita must recruit allies – including Pastor Munch, the teens and the Old Coot – to track down all the flowers before Halloween is ruined.

With the store “unattended,” Count Fangula and Pumpkin investigate a haunted mirror.

Meanwhile, power fluctuations plague the town, and it sure seems like Batsinger and the sheriff are up to no good.

Caretaker Batsinger, a professed lover of antiquities, purchases a mysterious old tea set from The Bootique, but Chip is arrested when he can’t locate the missing spoon. At the jail, Sheriff Malone tries to terrify Chip with his “completely unscripted” tour, in which they encounter the town’s most fearsome prisoner: a towering golem named “Rocky.”

Back at the shop, Chip’s friends search for the spoon, and Bonita joins the Albert Ghost campaign to strike back at the odious Batsinger.

Later, after Chip and Bonita overhear a distressing phone call, Albert sheds some light on the power fluctuations and all the strange behavior from Batsinger and the sheriff. His discovery reveals a grave threat to this world – and the world of the living.

Chip and Bonita must improvise when the plan runs into some unexpected complications.

Candidate Albert Ghost hopes that Chip and Bonita will pull through and deliver their evidence, unaware that the Bootique owners are trapped in the catacombs beneath the mausoleum.

Season 2

  1. Whistling Past the Graveyard

    Episode 1

    Show notes

It’s hard to believe Chip and Bonita died only a year ago, because they’ve been plenty busy since then (saving the town and everything – no big deal). Yet there’s no rest for the dead.

After a quick Halloween binding ritual, Chip and Bonita agree to deliver a mysterious package to The Collector. And since they now have access to some beastly wheels – courtesy of Chip’s new car lot – they decide to run a few errands first. Okay, several errands.

As they reckon with all the new changes around town, “complications” arise.

Meanwhile, residents report a haunting melody throughout the holler …

  2. Dust to Dust

    Episode 2

    Show notes

The whole town turns out for a rare Curdle Holler funeral – to mourn the actual death of a long-time friend and resident. But, since funerals are so uncommon in the afterlife, everyone struggles with the format.

Pastor Munch tries his best to juggle duties as sheriff and spiritual leader, while Chip and Bonita help collect signatures for the funeral guestbook. To get all the signatures – and open the church doors – Team Bootique will need to mend the broken threads of friendship between two members of the Weaving Circle.

During this time of crisis and confusion, an old spirit also returns, and the murder case gets murkier.

  4. Parts Unknown

    Episode 4

    Show notes

With Fez investigators on the case, everyone takes a moment to unwind.

For Curdle Holler’s rowdy denizens, who lost their football stadium in last year’s portacalypse, that means channeling their natural aggression into a charming beauty pageant. Albert hopes these same maniacs will remember to vote for his etherweb proposal, which – of course – is scheduled on the same day.

Back at the Bootique, it’s business as usual. Chip takes a promising new delivery order, and Bonita questions the reliability of their transportation.

Everything seems normal. A little … too normal.

Elsewhere, Ms. Weaver hosts a viewing party for the Real Housewives of Curdle Holler reunion special, but unexpected guests threaten to ruin her evening of class and elegance.

With no time to spare, Chip and Bonita race to the studio to stop the broadcast, while Curdle Holler’s great minds devise a way to install last-minute security patches inside the etherweb.

During a climactic showdown with the music box murderer, new loyalties will be tested, familiar voices will be truly heard, and the noise of battle will shake loose old rhythms in this weird and ancient Halloween town.

  7. A Curdle Holler Valentine's Special

    Show notes

The pulse quickens, your mind goes numb, sweat pools upon the back of your neck. This is the terrifying condition … called love.

To celebrate this unsettling feeling, Curdle Holler prepares for its annual downtown Paper Hearts Festival. Leading up to the event, Ms. Weaver spins relationship advice on BooTube, while Chip and Nita take care of some unfinished business from last Halloween. Meanwhile, Pumpkin expands the Pumpkin’s Store (TM) brand to collect donations “for a good cause.”

But not all goes according to plan. Like all paranormal activity, love is unpredictable, and this year’s Paper Hearts will be full of surprises – and maybe, also, a little Halloween mystery.

Come, then. Don’t be afraid. Celebrate love this year in Curdle Holler. All you must do … is give up your heart.
