Cyclops is Waiting for Me - An X-Men: The Animated Series Weekly Recap

Back on the Marvel Anime train, JC and Rod hop in on Wolverine which is done by the same studio as our previously covered Marvel's X-Men. For some reason, this one follows the same design as Marvel's Iron Man with a very skinny Logan voiced by Peter Petrelli from Heroes. This is our first time watching so no spoilers please.

As quickly as it came, Season 2 of X-Men '97 ended with lot of our favorite "big ole' fight" scenes as the X-Men defend Gambit from both X-Force and X-Factor. We say it a lot here but we mean it, we can't believe it is already over. Share your thoughts with us as we discuss the episode, the season as a whole and mentally prep ourselves for the wait for season 3. Two of the most moral characters in X-Men history must weigh in on the fate of Graydon Creed and his crimes against mutants (since humanity *shockingly* didn't hold him accountable). So the episode name was pretty obvious that Danger was going to be a big issue for the X-Men in this episode but what we didn't expect was for Polaris to steal the show with an awesome new take on her character compared to the more generic version from the original Animated series.

Logan hasn't always been the greatest guy. He is the best at what he does and (in this case) he's the best at putting the lives of people he doesn't really like that much, with one exception, at risk. JC and Rod dive into this horror and easter egg filled episode as the halfway point of Season 2 as Morph, Sabretooth, Lady Deathstrike and Maverick head to the Weapon X facility for two big surprises.

It wouldn't be a true X-Men series if we didn't get some classic Cyclops trauma moments (caused by Jean's death). With 2 episodes left, it was time to escalate and we have an electric kaiju and see this Wolverine go FULL berserker. And it's pretty damn entertaining.

In this mini bonus episode with less than a month before X-Men '97 season 2 debuts, JC walks Rod through the gap filling Season 2 prequel comic. While JC wasn't as high on the original Season 1 comic, this one felt like the team had a much stronger perspective on the tone of the show they were tying into.
