Dean Delray's LET THERE BE TALK

Today on Let There Be Talk, my good friend Chuck Billy of Testament returns to the show. Chuck is one of the true legends of thrash metal, and I've always loved sitting down and talking with him.

Today we're getting into his brand-new book, Holding My Breath. We dive into the stories behind the music, the road he's traveled, Surviving Cancer and what is next for Testement.

Chuck has lived one hell of a life, both on and off the stage, He is definitely a Soldier of Metal.

I'm excited to have him back. Let's get into it.

Chuck Billy, right here on Let There Be Talk!

Today on Let There Be Talk, we're diving into three things I could talk about all day: stand-up comedy, the magic of songwriting, and the nine greatest albums of all time.

First, we're talking about what it really means to go all in when you choose stand-up comedy. This isn't something you can halfway commit to. It takes years of work, a lot of sacrifice, and the willingness to get out there and fail until you figure it out.

Then we're getting into songwriting. How does somebody come up with a melody, a lyric, or a riff that sticks with you for the rest of your life? There's something pretty incredible about how music can connect with you on a level that nothing else can.

I am currently hooked on 4 new songs. Queens OF the Stone Age "Insignificant Other" Kacey Musgraves "Dry Spell" Kings Of Leon "My Whole World" and Kurt Vile " Chance To Bleed"

And finally, we're tackling a question every music lover has an opinion on: What are your nine greatest albums of all time? Not just the records you love, but the ones that changed your life and helped shape who you are.

All that and a whole lot more today on Let There Be Talk. Let's get into it!

Today on Let There Be Talk, I'm sitting down with a true thrash metal legend, the one and only Dave Mustaine of Megadeth.

Dave has lived one hell of a life, from helping shape the sound of heavy metal to surviving some serious battles along the way. Today, we're getting into his new book,"In My Darkest Hour" his fight with cancer, the guitars and amps that have shaped his sound, and the history of thrash metal.

If you know anything about me you know I think that "Peace Sells" is one of the greatest Thrash Metal records of all time so I was really fired up to have him on the show after 13 years of trying.

This is a great conversation with one of the most influential guitar players and songwriters in metal history.

Dave Mustaine, today on Let There Be Talk.

Thank You

Welcome back to another episode of Let There Be Talk!

Today I'm covering a little bit of everything. I'm talking about my recent stand-up comedy experience in Lawrence, Kansas, I'm also digging into the new album from The Temperance Movement, Which I absolutely love and can't recommend enough.

I also Dive into some big news out of the metal world, with Ian Hill retiring from Judas Priest after decades of holding down the low end for one of the greatest heavy metal bands of all time.

And then we're getting into something that's always fascinated me: people who collect antiques and spend their lives accumulating things they believe are valuable, only to find out that nobody really wants them.

Enjoy this one my friends and thank you.

Today on another episode of Let There Be Talk, I'm flying solo and getting into a few things that have been rattling around in my head.

First off, I finally got to meet the legendary Steven Wright. If you know comedy, you know how important this guy is. One of the most original comedians to ever step on a stage. His brain works on a completely different frequency, and getting the chance to meet him was pretty damn cool.

I also want to talk about Metallica playing the Sphere in Las Vegas. Think about that for a second. Metallica, one of the biggest bands in the history of rock, taking on one of the most insane venues ever built. I love seeing this band go higher and higher this deep into their career.

And then we're getting into one of my all-time favorite records, The White Stripes' White Blood Cells. Man, what a fucking record. Jack White is one of those artists who just gets it. The songwriting, the sounds, the attitude, the creativity. I've been a huge fan of everything that guy touches.

Thanks for tuning in my friends and I hope to see you out on the road.

We get into songwriting, guitars, recording, and what it's like to be the lead singer on this record.

Scott is really an amazing musician and friend, and I always enjoy hearing how he approaches music and where his head is at creatively.

So sit back and enjoy my conversation with Scott Holiday, today on Let There Be Talk.

Today on another episode of Let There Be Talk, I'm sitting down with an old friend I haven't seen in about 20 years — Shane Russeck, owner of True North Watch Company.

It's always crazy when you reconnect with somebody after that much time and realize you can just pick right back up where you left off. Shane and I went deep on watches, motorcycles, cars, comedy, and a whole lot of stories from back in the day.

We talk about the world of watches and what it takes to build a company around something you're genuinely passionate about, but this conversation goes way beyond watches. We get into our absolute love of Design.

This one really felt like two old friends sitting down and catching up — no bullshit, just a great conversation.

So here we go.

Today on another episode of Let There Be Talk, my guest is comedian Matt Fulchiron.

Matt is a really unique comedian. He's got his own voice, his own perspective, and a style that I really enjoy.

He's here today to talk about his brand-new comedy special, "Altar'd Reality," which is out now on YouTube. And Matt definitely goes into some interesting territory with this one — religion, atheism, Jesus, and just the craziness of life in general.

We talk about the new special, his career in comedy, how he developed his style, and what it takes to keep doing this business and still have something to say.

I've known Matt for a while, and it's always great sitting down with another comedian and talk about the craft, the road, and everything that comes with it.

So here we go — Matt Fulchiron, right here on Let There Be Talk.

Today on another episode of Let There Be Talk, I'm sitting down with a guy who has one of the coolest jobs in Los Angeles — Mark Rosenthal, owner of the legendary Sunset Marquis.

For decades, the Sunset Marquis has been much more than a hotel. It's been a home away from home for rock stars, musicians, actors, comedians, producers, and some of the most interesting characters to ever pass through Los Angeles. The walls of that place have seen some serious history.

Today Mark takes us deep into the story of the Sunset Marquis — how it became one of the most legendary rock 'n' roll hotels in the world, the people who have stayed there, the stories that have unfolded behind those walls, and what makes the place so special after all these years.

We also talk about the brand-new documentary If These Walls Could Rock, which digs into the incredible history and mythology surrounding this iconic hotel.

I love the history of Los Angeles, I love rock 'n' roll, and when you put those two things together, you get one hell of a conversation.

So let's get into it. Mark Rosenthal, owner of the Sunset Marquis, right here on Let There Be Talk.

Today on another episode of Let There Be Talk, I'm sitting down with Amelia Davis, curator of the incredible Jim Marshall Photography Archives.

If you're a fan of rock 'n' roll history, this is a special one. Today we're talking about a brand-new book documenting one of the most legendary moments in music history — The Beatles' final concert, which took place right in San Francisco at Candlestick Park on August 29th, 1966.

Jim Marshall was there with his cameras, capturing The Beatles at a moment when nobody knew they were witnessing the end of an era. These photographs give us a front-row seat to what turned out to be the final paid concert The Beatles ever played together.

Amelia and I dive deep into Jim Marshall's relationship with The Beatles, the story behind these incredible photographs, the chaos surrounding that final show, and what it was really like to document some of the biggest moments in rock history through Jim's lens.

This is a great conversation about The Beatles, San Francisco, Jim Marshall, photography, and the end of an incredible chapter in rock 'n' roll history.

Let's get into it. Amelia Davis is my guest today on Let There Be Talk.

Today on Let There Be Talk, I'm sitting down with a true guitar legend — Brad Gillis.

Brad is one of those players whose sound you know the second you hear it. He helped define the sound of Night Ranger with those killer dual-guitar harmonies, and he also stepped into some pretty massive shoes when he joined Ozzy Osbourne's band following the passing of Randy Rhoads.

We're talking about the early days, Night Ranger, Ozzy, Randy Rhoads, the legendary Speak of the Devil record, life on the road, and what it was like being one of the guitar players at the center of some of the biggest moments in rock history.

Brad Gillis is a killer guitar player, a Rock n Roller and a huge part of the history of American hard rock.

Let's get into it. This is Brad Gillis — right here on Let There Be Talk.

My guests today are the directors of the brand-new Sunset Marquis documentary If These Walls Could Rock, Tyler Measom and Craig A. Williams.

The Sunset Marquis wasn't just a hotel — it became a home away from home for rock stars. It's a place where records were written, friendships were made, parties happened, and some serious rock 'n' roll history went down.

Tyler and Craig take us deep inside the story of this legendary hotel and the musicians, bands, producers, and characters who have passed through its doors over the decades.

We're talking rock 'n' roll history, Hollywood, music, and the incredible stories that made the Sunset Marquis so much more than just a place to stay.

This is a great one. Let's get into it.

Today on Let There Be Talk, I'm very excited to have two incredible people joining me who are doing something really important for the comedy community — Zoe Friedman and Amber J. Lawson, the co-founders of Comedy Gives Back.

Comedy is supposed to make people laugh, but behind the scenes, comedians are dealing with many of the same struggles everybody else faces — mental health, addiction, financial problems, and just the pressures of trying to make a living in this business. Zoe and Amber saw that there was a real need for comedians to have somewhere to turn, and they built Comedy Gives Back to provide support, resources, and a safety net for people in the comedy community when they need it most.

Today we're going to talk about how Comedy Gives Back started, why this organization is so important, what they're seeing within the comedy world right now, and what comedians can do if they're struggling or simply need some help.

This is a really meaningful conversation, and I'm honored to have them here. Zoe Friedman and Amber J. Lawson, the co-founders of Comedy Gives Back — right now on Let There Be Talk.

Today on Let There Be Talk I sit down with one of the true survivors of rock 'n' roll, Phil Lewis, the unmistakable voice of L.A. Guns.

From the wild days of the Sunset Strip to today, Phil has lived it all. We dive into the band's incredible legacy, the making of classic records like L.A. Guns and Cocked & Loaded, the chemistry between Phil and Tracii Guns, and how the band has found a creative second wind over the last several years with a string of killer new albums and relentless touring. We also talk about the brand-new live release, Live From The Guild Theatre, why L.A. Guns is still firing on all cylinders, and what keeps him inspired after decades on the road.

This is a conversation about longevity, songwriting, surviving the music business, and what it really takes to keep a rock 'n' roll band alive. Phil is brutally honest, and full of incredible stories from one of the greatest eras in rock history.

If you love hard rock, the Sunset Strip, and hearing it straight from someone who lived every minute of it, you're going to love this episode.
