Pinball Expo 2026 is in the books, and WOW, do we have a lot to talk about!

This episode kicks off with the incredible Mountain Dew pinball machine Stern built for Barstool Sports. But after seeing it, I have one big question: Why can’t WE buy one?

I make my case for Stern to take the Mountain Dew concept and turn it into a real production game available to the public. The theme, colors, artwork and pure ridiculous fun of Mountain Dew seem absolutely PERFECT for pinball. Stern — make the game and take my money!

Then things get paranormal…

I’ve officially asked Barrels of Fun for a knocker kit for Winchester Mystery House — but not just for replay knocks. I want to use the knocker to communicate with the spirit realm! 👻 Could the machine actually knock back at you as part of the experience? Winchester Mystery House seems like the perfect game to try it.

I also get into a bigger discussion about THEME INTEGRATION in pinball. I compare Stern, Spooky Pinball and Barrels of Fun to Disney, Universal and Six Flags and look at the very different ways each approaches immersing you in a theme.

Is it enough to put a great license on a great pinball machine, or should playing the game actually make you feel like you've stepped inside that world?

Does the machine capture the strange, violent, retro-futuristic world of Fallout? Did Stern deliver something worthy of one of the biggest video game franchises of all time—or did the hype get ahead of the final product?

This has been the strangest week in pinball. What is going on? Everyone is angry, accusing each other of leaking this, or trashing that. We got 3 new pinball releases this week and we all need some time to process.

No one is making you buy anything. Let's just breathe and play some games. There's bigger issues out there than this.

It's an appeal to sanity everybody! Myself included.

What a stellar release week we've had! Some very polarizing choices. I will be clear that every game will be fun to play and locations should get them, maybe. But at these prices I think we should demand more.
