Down Under The Mat Podcast

Reece and Dan sit down in Madison Square Garage (close enough) to review the actually pretty good Saturday Nights Main Event from MSG in NY!

We discuss everything from #WWE for the week that led up to the show, including the huge stipulation for the Tag Match and the probability of a Gunther v Aldis match - that HHH has now given us for SummerSlam!

We also talk Danhausen and the Minihausen's, is this Bayley's last WWE match, and did we fall asleep during Jalen Brunson's entrance?

Rowdy Daddy Reecey and Danhausen Danielson break down a surprisingly good Night of Champions PLE headlined by a HUGE and probably SHOCKING victory of Sami Zayn!

Did he deserve it? Absolutely. Was it a shock? Definitely. What will WWE do next? Who knows...

We also talk all the other results including Oba and Iyo being crowned as King and Queen, Seth finally (PLEASE) being done with the vision and the US titles being on a PLE!

This week in MSG we invite Danhausen to come join us to talk all things wrestling! (He's probably too busy with Jimmy Fallon and the Knicks...)

We also discuss the winners of the King and Queen of the Ring qualifiers and how they title shots at SummerSlam could play out... and if we now actually want Jey Uso v Sami Zayn?!

We chat about TNA releasing some backstage talent and their shake up of creative - will it help at all, or will TNA just TNA?

And in Australian Wrestling, we chat about the debut show of ACW - Australian Championship Wrestling - which had a STACKED local card but was TERRIBLY booked and failed to deliver. Or did it?

Come and join our FREE discord to chat, links below. Or throw us a like and a comment! Love ya!

YEET or NO YEET for King of the Ring?!

This week Dan and Reecey remote pod to talk about all the happenings from this week in WWE and AEW, especially their concurrent tournaments and who looks to be the winners. Are we getting Oba Femi a crown as the ruler, or is Jey Uso going to YEET his way to Cody?

We also talk the poor booking (again) of the Women's divisions and how much the Rhea injury could hurt them. And we ask if Chad Gable is now the biggest babyface in WWE?!

From AEW we wonder if Ospreay and Mercedes can win the titles at All In, and we DO NOT WANT a Mark Briscoe title run. MJF has to beat him again, right? RIGHT?

Come and chat to us in the comments on our discord, because we all love professional wrestling!

On this episode, Dan and Reece predict their winners of the KING and QUEEN of the RING tournaments, as well as the OWEN HART cups - so many tournaments and so many title chances!

We also talk about how JACKED CM Punk is now, and if it's as "Straight Edge" as some might think? We also talk NJPW sale, Lucha Underground and all the results from RAW and SMACKDOWN!

Let us know in the comments your thoughts!

Love you!

This week in Madison Square Garage, SURPRISE it's Reece and Dan under the masks!

We sit down to discuss Clash in Italy and AAA Noche de Los Grandes - was the PLE any good, and was the mask v mask match a potential for Match of The Year!?

We also talk all the storylines coming out of Italy and book our own brackets and winners of the King of the Ring and Queen of the Ring tournaments!

This week, Reece and Dan are back in MSG to discuss a fairly underwhelming SNME show with all retentions and not a lot of surprises. Was this a show that should have been an email?

In more exciting news, we discuss the TRIBAL COMBAT stipulation for Clash in Italy, the possibility of Zilla Fatu joining the story, and the mammoth return (and un-retirement?) of Brock Lesnar! Add to that the drama in AAA of the El Grande Americanos and if that is impacted by the arrest of Ludwig Kaiser - we have plenty to talk about!

Come chat wrestling with us in our Discord - we'd love your opinions!

Dan and Reece are back inside Madison Square Garage this week to talk all things wrestling - and of main interest (or not interest) is that SmackDown is now... boring? Was this just a bad episode on Friday night or is it poor booking and stories and a declining show from #WWE ? Let us know in the comments!

We also discuss the Ronda Rousey "fight" (HAHAHA) on Netflix, the bad luck of Chelsea Green, the World Series Wrestling shows in Australia and predict who will win the Owen Hart Tournament in AEW and wrestle at #AllInLondon this year!

Huge show, please like and subscribe and share with your friends! And come chat on our discord - we'd love to over book storylines with you!

On a REMOTE episode (which we streamed live on Twitch!) Dan and Reece sit down to discuss the PLE that was Backlash 2026 - was it better in ring than WrestleMania? We also ponder if this was Asuka's farewell match with

WWE, what happens next in the Bloodline story, and how we re-acted to the surprise of the Mini-Hausen tag partner! We also try to work out how the new John Cena classic will work, and to be honest, still aren't sure - so if you have thoughts on that let us know in the comments or on discord! Links below.

Enjoy!

On this episode, Dan and Reece sit down in MSG to talk about another round of releases - including the SHOCK parting of ways of the NEW DAY, Kofi and Woods. We also discuss the new faces in NXT, one being very EVIL, and the use of AI in the Zaria promo. Plus all the main roster booking from the Ricky Saints debut, to the Roman and Jacob re-igniting of the Bloodline, to the Brand Split (LOL) and Gunther showing up to take out Cody!

Let us know your thoughts in the comments or our discord - and let us know where you'd love to see Kofi and Woods show up in 90 days time!

It's properly WrestleMania SZN now and it's time for Reece and Dan to put up their PREDICTIONS for who will win on the Grandest Stage of them ALL!

We go through match by match on the winners, the stories and what we would book coming out of WM 42 in Vegas - including some crazy theories for Orton and McAfee, Rhea and even some NXT call ups!

Let us know in the comments your thoughts on our picks and Mania in general, and come by our FREE discord to talk all things wrestling this weekend! We'd love to hear from you!

What even was this SmackDown? Why is a 14 time world champion asking a podcaster (yes we know the irony) to help him "save the business" of professional wrestling?

Why are we getting Seth v Gunther? Why do they keep teasing us with Oba v Brock? Why is Danhousen the best thing on WWE TV lately? Are you more or less excited about WrestleMania after this week?

Come let Reece and Dan know in the comments or our FREE to join discord! 2 weeks to go! ... Also, Jericho is back as the "cornerstone" of AEW. Should he have gone to WWE instead, or would TKO have just fumbled that too?

This week Rowdy Daddy Reecey and Dan-housen Daniel-son chat all things professional wrestling from MSG! We discuss the two MAIN EVENTS of WrestleMania and which one has the most momentum now - is it "Old Man" Punk and "Oiled and Jizzed" Roman Reigns, or "Tweener" Randy Orton and "Everyone's over" Cody Rhodes?

We also pitch some fantastic plans for the women's IC and US titles for post WrestleMania (spoiler, it's probably Sol Ruca) and give Jelly Roll his flowers for really taking to Smackdown like a champion!

Let us know your thoughts on the shows this week, and come pitch us the rest of your Mania card either in the comments, or on our FREE to join discord! Links below!

WE ARE BACK! After a couple of weeks off for Rowdy Daddy Reecey to introduce his son to the world, we are back in Madison Square Garage to talk wrestling and boy oh boy has a lot changed in the last few weeks! Cody is champ, Randy is heel. Seth likes dancing in hoodies with strange men. Punk and Roman has gotten mid. WWE has forgotten how to book Women properly. Rhea and Jade suuuuuucks (so far). Jelly Roll is back to have a Mania match and make @MrSantiZap oil up? And from not WWE news, Lena Kross is an AEW champion, Hangman can't challenge for the #AEW title again, Ospreay is back and Ricochet is still a douche on twitter! Soooooo much to talk about so please give us a like and subscribe and come chat on our discord if you also love professional wrestling! And, come congratulate Reecey on becoming a Dad! ----more--------more----

Dan and Reece are in MSG today to break down the Elimination Chamber PLE and all it's... matches?... and... returns.... and.... ads? Was this a mid PLE? Where the winners "too obvious" for all the matches? Was the surprise from the crate very disappointing and very mid, and not very nice and very evil?! Let us know your thoughts in the comments and on our discord!

Reece and Dan are in MSG this week to talk ALL THINGS professional wrestling, but specifically the world title scenes on #Smackdown and #AEW and why they are pretty similar at the moment? We also go through the Wrestling Observer Newsletter awards for 2025, who faces Jade Cargill at Wrestlemania, why the Elimination Chambers have been booked so SHOCKINGLY already (Gunther lost?!!?) and of course... WHAT'S IN THE CRATE?

On this interview special, Dan and Reece invite the Sniper of the Skies, TMDK's own ROBBIE EAGLES into Madison Square Garage to talk all things professional wrestling! We discuss his local career through @ProWrestlingAustralia and @slamproleague including his upcoming Championship match in SLAM, and the massive Colosseum event for PWA.

We ask about his challenge to MJF and if the AEW Champion has the stones to face Robbie, and if he won't, what other dream matches does Robbie still have in the tank?

We chat venues, NJPW, some TMDK history and much more!

Reece and Dan discuss all things wrestling this week including that INCREDIBLE CM Punk and Roman Reigns promo from RAW that could feed millions. Is it Mania already because get us to that match! We also talk AEW coming to Sydney for Grand Slam, including MJF being squashed by Brody King and if the booking of Andrade and Ciampa are direct shots back at WWE?

We also talk more on the AJ Styles retirement, and give Ricochet more credit than he deserves for his stupid twitter rants.

Dan and Reece review the 2026 Royal Rumble PLE - was it good, was it disappointing, where was Chris Jericho and Paige?! Sami fell short in Saudi again, Gunther kills another career and the predicted favourites in Roman and Liv win their respective Rumble matches. So was the show good? Where does this lead us for Elimination Chamber and then WrestleMania?? Let us know in the comments or our FREE to join Discord!
