Electric Gold: A Nashville SC Supporter Podcast
Electric Gold is three guys sharing their unsolicited opinions about Nashville Soccer Club. We chat weekly about the highs and lows of the team, and we often get off on tangents about the city of Nashville, music, movies, television and all sorts of pop culture. Sometimes, we even compare Nashville SC to historical events like the Siege of Vienna in 1683. We share hot takes, chat about life as a Nashville SC supporter and preview upcoming games. And in every podcast, we drink lots of beer.

November 2, 2026: We'll Never Give Up On You
Season 3, Episode 29
Show notes
In this episode, the boys try to wrap their brains around an absolute insane victory over the Red Bulls of New York that featured everything you could want in a soccer game. Rainy weather, cool temps, an early deficit, and an absolutely raucous crows lifting the team up to come back for the stoppage time victory. The boys throw out all the segments and just talk about what this team and specifically this game means to them. And don't say they didn't warn you, because Evan was making predictions about what this team could achieve all the way back at the beginning of the season, and they're bringing receipts! They're also bringing the top five most impenetrable castles, and you might be familiar with at least one of them. After that, the boys look ahead to one more fight with FC Cincinnati, featuring some really bold predictions about the last game of the regular season. And they drink beer.

October 25, 2026: The Best Damn Team is in Tennessee
Season 3, Episode 28
Show notes
It's victory lap time for the boys as they celebrate Nashville SC winning the 2026 Supporters Shield. It has been a long road to reach this mountaintop, and in this episode, the boys wax poetic about the journey for the team and its fans to get here, and what winning this accolade means for the dedicated supporters of the boys in gold. And of course, the team wouldn't get here without some contributions from so many different folks, whether its our brave captain, Hany Mukhtar, our leading scorer Sam Surridge, the incredible backline and interior midfielders, the team executives and ownership, and one man who had the vision for this team at its inception so many years ago. The boys review it all, and they also give a listen to local favorites Luna Halo. After some close inspection of FC Cincinnati and Orlando, the boys gaze into their crystal balls to make some predictions for the last two home games of the regular season, and more records are bound to fall. Keep sayin it - come on you boys in gold! And they drink beer.

October 18, 2026: Build the Damn Statue
Season 3, Episode 27
Show notes
In this episode, the boys review a really terrific week for Nashville SC as the team inches ever closer to winning hardware. After commanding victories against Austin FC and St Louis City, Nashville didn't quite clinch the Supporter's Shield (yet), but they did wrap up the Eastern Conference and ensure home field advantage throughout the playoffs. The boys debate which trophy belongs to the true champion of the season - is it the Shield or the MLS Cup? All of this would be resolved if the MLS just split into two leagues anyway. And will it really matter when Nashville SC wins them both? In the meantime, the boys gush over how phenomenal Hany Mukhtar is playing, and they demand the statue be erected ASAP. The boys also pose a question - is Super Sam Surridge playing out of position, or playing for the team (or both)? After a quick analysis of CF Montreal and St. Louis City, the boys make some predictions for the upcoming match against Montreal, and spoiler alert, the future includes lifting trophies! And they drink beer.

September 27, 2026: Joe Says No Once Mo'
Season 3, Episode 26
Show notes
They boys are hyped after Nashville SC exacted some revenge on FC Toronto for their surprising win a couple weeks ago, and the big excitement of this game was the opportunity to see Joe Willis in goal once more. It might be the last time the crowd gets to chant "Joe Says No", and that's got the boys feeling quite nostalgic, so they're listening to Chris Stapleton wax poetic about their favorite city. Let's not forget how magical the night was, between fans dressed like their favorite Harry Potter characters or Hany Mukhtar casting spells on the field, it was a wonder to behold. And while no one may be able to explain why Sam Surridge keeps sailing his shots high, one thing everyone can agree on is that Reed Baker-Whiting is coming into his own. Forget Miami, Vancouver and Cincinnati - they boys say Nashville's real enemy is FIFA, who insists on disrupting play every time Nashville starts to get some real momentum going. At least the team isn't owned by some Middle Eastern magnate who wants to cheat to win like the owners of Manchester City. No, Nashville SC can win straight up, and they're doing it this season as they are coasting to a possible Supporters Shield trophy. But first, they'll have to take care of business at Austin and against Kansas City, so the boys look ahead past the international break at these matchups and make some predictions about the final stretch of the MLS season. And they drink beer.

September 20, 2026: Once in a Lifetime
Season 3, Episode 25
Show notes
In this episode, the boys show some gratitude for the wonderful Nashville SC season that they're being treated to, and they bring along a thesaurus because they are seriously running out of superlatives for this tremendous team. After watching a professional and mature destruction of Chicago, the boys review all the club records the team has eclipsed, and hey, we've already clinched a playoff spot as well! Cristian Espinoza deserves some extra love after putting on a master class versus Chicago, and Maxwell Woledzi once again showed why he's the best defender and the best hype man in the MLS. The whole thing has the boys comparing the team to the Great Australian Emu War of 1932, and this team are running the rest of the MLS as ragged as the Australian artillery. Now, just because the team is flying doesn't mean there isn't danger on the horizon. Philadelphia has recently turned around their season and may be the hottest team in the league, and St. Louis City are dark horse candidates to come out of the western conference, but really, is there any team in the MLS as complete and as talented as Nashville SC? No way! So to relax and enjoy this victory, the boys put on some smooth beats from Jensen Sportag and relish this feeling on top of the soccer world. Next week, it's time for revenge against Toronto, and the boys make some ambitious predictions about what to expect in the upcoming match, which will be full of Hogwarts magic. And they drink beer.

September 12, 2026: This is an Emergency!
Season 3, Episode 24
Show notes
The boys couldn't wait to jump on the mics to record this emergency podcast with absolutely no preparation or planning right after the big showdown between Nashville SC and Inter Miami. What looked like a defeat for Nashville through much of the second half flipped on its head in the final moments when Super Sam Surridge saved the day. And the boys are here for it. But they aren't happy about the favoritism that Miami enjoys or the kid gloves that Lionel Messi is officiated with. And they REALLY aren't happy with Luis Suarez, who might be the biggest crybaby in soccer. But they're really happy with Super Sam and Brian Schwake and the whole Nashville team for never giving up in this one. The bench players in particular shined bright in this one, and their fresh legs made the difference. We've already forgotten about Toronto! The boys are going to keep saying it until you listen - this team and this season are magic and you better be watching, because we are coming for some hardware. And up next is Chicago, who are visiting Geodis Park next weekend, so the boys make some very bold predictions. And they drink beer.

September 6, 2026: He's In Your Head
Season 3, Episode 23
Show notes
In this episode, the boys catch up on the last couple of weeks of Nashville SC action. They remain overjoyed at the wipeout of FC Cincinnati, and after a draw against NYCFC, they are mostly just hopeful the team never has to play at Yankee Stadium ever again. There's plenty to be excited about, though, as the team continues their record-setting pace. The boys can't get over what an incredible defense this team features, and the leader of that backline is especially incredible. The young keeper Brian Schwake just set a club record for clean sheets, and should he be considered in the MLS MVP conversation? With the Four Horsemen up front and the Cerberus in the back, this team is destined for mythical, legendary status. But also, Super Sam is great and all, but he needs to shoot his shot when he gets the chance. The boys jam out to Stone Deep like it's 1992, but they're also keeping a close eye on Toronto, Chicago and of course, the pink warriors of Inter Miami. In fact, it's a busy week coming up with a lot of frequent flyer miles for the boys in gold, but we aren't worried and expect Coach Callaghan to have the team ready. The boys made some predictions about those games and keep their spirits high. And they drink beer.

August 24, 2026: Magic Is In the Air
Season 3, Episode 22
Show notes
In this episode, the boys celebrate the comeback of all comebacks! Two, in fact! It was a wild week for Nashville SC, and the boys sort through all the magic that this team is experiencing. The backline are the heroes this week, with game winners from Max Woledzi and Andy Najar, and major contributions from Jeisson Palacios and Reed Baker-Whiting. Plus, we think we've figured out what this team is doing strategically that is so special. The boys also name off some of the greatest comebacks in human history - shout out to Admiral Yi Sun-sin. And the reality of being in the conversation for the greatest MLS team of all time is setting in. But before they get too ahead of themselves, there are still other MLS teams to consider, like the Houston Dynamo, if you can believe that. And the boys look ahead to a major showdown with the most despicable team of all, FC Cincinnati. And they drink beer.

August 16, 2026: The One Where We Beat Miami's Ass
Season 3, Episode 21
Show notes
In this episode, it's all love and joy as the boys celebrate an incredible beatdown of Inter Miami at the hands of Hany Mukhtar and company. There's so many positives to discuss, the boys can't even squeeze them all in, but they are certainly excited by what they've seen from newcomer Elias Saad, who might just be the final piece of the puzzle that Nashville needed for a championship run. Captain Hany Mukhtar is being the leader that we'd always hoped, and youngsters Matthew Corcoran and Reed Baker-Whiting are seizing the moment as well. Everyone is feeling confident as they look ahead to the rest of the season, and the boys even suggest that the MLS can go ahead and engrave the Supporter's Shield right now. They've also got some suggestions for Messi's next career once he is done with soccer (which might be very soon). And when they're not jamming out to the Black Keys, the boys are paying close attention to the Columbus Crew and Vancouver Whitecaps; one is an upcoming opponent, and the other might just be who Nashville meets in the playoffs. But for now, the boys make some optimistic predictions for the upcoming games this week as they keep on cheering on the team and bleeding blue and gold. And they drink beer.

August 2, 2026: Vote Jon for FIFA President
Season 3, Episode 20
Show notes
In this episode, the boys aren't amused by the recent string of play by Nashville SC. Whether it's the injury bug, a lack of effort or focus or just a World Cup hangover, the boys insist that this team needs to get their heads right and start playing like the Nashville we know and love. And while Hany Mukhtar is trying to do his part as captain, there's concern over his injury in the DC United game now, and Ahmed Qasem is not going to save the day. But we'll tell you who does continue to save the day - Brian Schwake, who is making a case for that ever-so-rare goalkeeper MVP. The boys soothe their pain listening to Circles by Nashville local rocker Pujol, which might turn out to be a great campaign song for Jon, who is officially throwing his hat into the ring for FIFA President. He couldn't do any worse than the current leadership! The boys do everything they can to get excited about the Leagues Cup (and they fail), but they still predict a pretty successful tournament for Warren Madrigal. And they drink beer.

July 18, 2026: We Now Return You to Your Regularly Scheduled Programming
Season 3, Episode 19
Show notes
In this episode, the boys celebrate the return to the pitch for Nashville SC, who faced off against Atlanta United in a sloppy mess of a game after nearly two months off, but the boys in gold still found a way to collect the three points thanks to the heroic efforts of youngster Shak Mohammed. And the boys also have some praise for the Chaos Commander, Alex Muyl, and the Greatest American Goalkeeper, Brian Schwake. But even with victory secure, what was with all the injuries? And now that we’re wrapping up the World Cup, is it time to finally figure out what the heck is England’s problem? Jon and Ryan’s lifetime friendship might be falling apart over Taco Bell, but hopefully having the boys in gold back will help mend fences. The team has a busy week ahead, so the boys break down the upcoming opponents of Montreal and Orlando before making some bold (and perhaps outlandish) predictions for those games as well as the World Cup finale. And they drink beer.

July 12, 2026: Nashville SC Returns & Electric Gold Sings!
Season 3, Episode 18
Show notes
In this very special musical episode of Electric Gold, the boys put all their takes and opinions to music. First, they unconvincingly suggest that they didn't even care about the World Cup anyway, especially in light of the US team's terrible flame-out. And as they try to forget all about that debacle and pretend they aren't watching the rest of the tournament (which they totally are), they start getting excited about the upcoming resumption of the MLS season, particularly a return to form for Nashville SC. With the suffering that the team has gone through over the past several years, one could even liken the journey to the types of struggles and soul-searching one might find in an epic 19th-century Russian novel. They boys are definitely looking forward to getting back to Geodis Park, but if we're going to do another cup for national pride, should we send state-level teams instead of national teams? Tennessee could totally kick Mississippi's ass, by the way. Regardless, as long as Jenny Taft is announcing, the boys will be tuning in. But all that's for another day, because right now, it's time for the boys and NSC to focus on Atlanta United, Nashville's first foe coming out of the break. Evan serves up a tremendous prediction for what that game has in store, as well as how he thinks the rest of the World Cup will play out. Bring your dancing shoes for this one! And they drink beer (with music). #worldcup #usa #usmnt #nashvillesc #coybig #electricgoldnsc #nsc #mls #podcastmusical

July 4, 2026: America Has Arrived
Season 3, Episode 17
Show notes
In this episode, the boys feel the US Men's National Team gaining momentum after a commanding victory over Bosnia & Herzogovina in the Round of 32 knockout round in the World Cup. And the entire World Cup has been so entertaining and full of drama, especially the last week. Cape Verde?! Paraguay?! Egypt?!! Morocco!! It's been a whirlwind of excitement, and the boys have loved every second of it. They've especially loved the performance of the American players, specifically Malik Tillman and Flo Balogun. And yet, Balogun was wronged with a terrible red card call in this last game, but at least we all love VAR, right? On this 250th birthday of America, this journey for the US team reminds the boys of the country's efforts to establish its identity through the Revolution, and also some of the players remind them of some of the greatest American bands we've ever heard. The hot takes are also here, and no surprise, the boys have some bold claims about how far this team can go. But first, they'll have to overcome some tough opponents like Spain and England. But first comes a game against Belgium, and you better believe we're bringing all the guns like it's Yorktown all over again. The boys make their predictions and gear up for the big battle. And they drink beer. #worldcup #worldcup2026 #usmnt #usa #electricgoldnsc #mls #nashvillesc #soccer #everyonen

June 21, 2026: Here's to the Dads
Season 3, Episode 16
Show notes
In this very special Father's Day episode, the boys are bursting with American pride and lots of praise for the US team after another convincing win in the World Cup. The recent victory over Australia only stoked the flames of excitement for the potential that this USA team could reach in the tournament, and they're already going where no American team has gone before. It's hard to pick a more exciting moment - Flo Balogun's pressure that resulted in an own goal, or Alex Freeman out-leaping everyone for a header to take total control of the game. But one thing is for sure, the Socceroos were pretty nasty there at the end. And tell us again why it is necessary for the US to play this meaningless game versus a disappointing Turkiye? The boys take a moment to look back at this day in World Cup history in both 2002 and 1994, both of which offer some incredible historical moments for international soccer. And in honor of Father's Day, the boys break out their Mount Rushmore for fictional father figures, and maybe share some life lessons of their own along the way. Turning back to soccer, we have a recommendation - MORE teams in the World Cup please! And while we are keeping our eyes on you, Canada, our immediate attention is now on Bosnia & Herzogovina or Qatar, one of which will likely be the US opponent in the Round of 32. Finally, the boys break out the crystal balls for some meaningless predictions for a meaningless upcoming game. And they drink beer.

June 14, 2026: America! F&%$ Yeah!
Season 3, Episode 15
Show notes
In this episode, the boys celebrate a historic and convincing victory by Team USA over Paraguay in their opening World Cup match, including much praise for potential golden boot candidate Flo Balogun. And how about Captain America making Jon eat his words? The team looks poised to make an impressive run in the tournament, and the boys think that the USA is already a big-time soccer nation. Thank goodness we didn't have the same referee that Mexico did in their match. The boys share some great moment in World Cup history, including one incredible day in 1970, and they also take a peek at other formidable opponents in the Cup, like Mexico and upcoming opponents Australia and Turkiye. They've got some bold predictions for the upcoming match versus Australia, and it's a great excuse for day drinking and Tailgate pizza. June 7, 2026: The Electric Gold Super-Spectacular All-American World Cup Preview!
Season 3, Episode 14
Show notes
In this episode - it's time for the World Cup! After a brief recap of Nashville's game versus NYCFC, the boys turn their attention fully to the World Cup tournament descending on America this week. The excitement is palpable, and the boys can barely contain themselves. The boys reflect on how different the world is now versus the last time the World Cup was in the States back in 1994. They wonder who will be the superstars to emerge during the tournament - does Messi have one more push left? Will Mbappe finally deliver? Is it finally time for Yamal to dominate? Will an underdog surprise us all? We're looking at you, Curacao! The boys stroll down memory lane to present their Mount Rushmore of US soccer players, and of course they have a lot of questions about this current US Men's National Team (as do we all). As always, the boys bring some hot chicken takes before digging into a long list of World Cup superlatives that get increasingly ridiculous, and let's just say no one likes Neymar or Rodrigo De Paul. Finally, the boys look into their crystal balls to make predictions for the US's first match against Paraguay - let the games begin! And they drink beer.

May 18, 2026: Keeping it 100!
Season 3, Episode 13
Show notes
In this episode, the boys celebrate another incredible week for Nashville Soccer Club. They highlight how the team notched their 100th victory, and Hany Mukhtar - in the middle of a hat trick versus LAFC - scored his 100th goal for the team. They also show much love for maybe America's greatest goalkeeper, Brian Schwake, as well as unexpected deep bench hero, Brian Acosta. And while the boys are certainly not fans of parking tickets, they aren't afraid - just like the boys in gold, who haven't feared any opponent in 2026. Cue Fleming & John from 1994! While they're doling out praise, the boys might as well shout out BJ Callaghan as the best coach in the MLS. But they aren't so sure that they love the World Cup being in the United States because it could disrupt Nashville's momentum. No worries, though, because there is still plenty of optimism as they look ahead to the upcoming match versus NYCFC. Let's just hope they don't start an OnlyFans. And they drink beer.

May 3, 2026: Expert-Level Sudoku
Season 3, Episode 12
Show notes
In this episode, the boys are astonished by Coach BJ Callaghan's ability to continue fielding competent soccer teams despite a hectic schedule that has the boys in gold flying all over North America every other day. Even though they dropped the first leg of their semifinal against Tigres and only mustered a draw on the road versus Philly, Nashville SC has a lot to be proud of and they STILL sit at the top of the Eastern Conference. Brian Schwake might just be the best goalkeeper in the MLS, and Maxwell Woledzi might just be a little TOO crazy (but we still love him). Who we don't love - the MLS owners who are contemplating allowing the move of the Vancouver Whitecaps to Las Vegas - #savethecaps. But the boys are excited about some free World Cup watch parties at Geodis Park this summer. They aren't too excited about Sam Surridge missing games with an undisclosed injury, though, and it's starting to make them concerned. But at least Miami's defense stinks and no other eastern conference team seems to have the total package that Nashville does. In the end, the boys look ahead and make some predictions for what might be the greatest test the team has ever faced this week in Monterrey. And they drink beer.

April 26, 2026: Keep Electric Gold Weird
Season 3, Episode 11
Show notes
In this episode, the boys harken back to their roots by being weirdos. They certainly reflect on another great win by Nashville SC, this time versus a talented Charlotte team. And how about ol' Hany Mukhtar, who continues to be an incredible leader for the team and maybe one of the greatest MLS players ever. Sam Surridge made an incredible return to the pitch as well, and the boys are here for it. They also manage to compare the team's success this season to early19th-century Spanish health logistics, which is obvious of course. Speaking of weird, isn't time the weirdest? And maybe it doesn't even exist? Or maybe Andy Najar is the most fun soccer player to watch on the entire planet. There's also plenty of evidence that the eastern conference is pretty abysmal this year. The boys look forward to an action-packed week featuring matches versus Tigres and a struggling Philadelphia Union, and - no surprise - they predict a lot of success for the boys in gold. And they drink beer.

Season 3, Episode 10
Show notes
In this episode, the boys run out of words to express their joy over Nashville SC's run of success this season. They gush over the historic victory for the boys in gold down in Estadio Azteca, and they also bask in the glow of a victory down in Atlanta as well. They hand out a mega-sized Aw Hell Yeah to our brave captain, Hany Mukhtar, who made all the right moves this past week. And how about a special shout-out to an emotional Shaw Mohammed after his first MLS goal? But really, all of this good fortune began when BJ Callaghan agreed to become the Nashville head coach, and we haven't looked back since. Jon thinks Nashville SC is on a collision course with LAFC, and not just for CONCACAF. Evan believes the Southern Championship Belt is already being fitted with rhinestones. Everyone knows this team is destined for greatness, and they can't wait to welcome Charlotte FC to town this weekend. For sure, the boys offer some bold predictions for that match, too. And they drink beer.
