  1. Rendlesham: The Memo, the Tape, and the Lights

    Episode 4

    Show notes

In December 1980, American airmen entered an English forest to investigate unusual lights. Their reports—and a senior officer’s recording—became the foundation of one of Britain’s most famous UFO cases.

In “Rendlesham: The Memo, the Tape, and the Lights,” Investigative Journalist and Host Lew Austin Hastings examines early witness statements, Charles Halt’s memo and recording, police records, and explanations involving a meteor, a lighthouse and stars.

Evidentiary’s independent research includes a review of 297 archived pages, a reconstruction of the night sky and responses to our records requests.

    EVIDENTIARY CONCLUSION
The records establish that military personnel reported unusual lights. Ordinary explanations have supporting evidence for parts of the case. The material examined does not establish a landed nonhuman craft, an extraordinary radiation source or verified radar confirmation. Questions remain.

    RESEARCH LIMITS
Later accounts preserved in government files are not automatically corroborated. Our sky calculation supports broad star positions, not a definitive identification. The original BAA meteor report remains unexamined by Evidentiary. MOD and Suffolk responses concern present records holdings; public redacted copies are pending.

Three UAP hearings. What does the public evidence establish?

Lew Austin Hastings examines the 2023–2025 UAP hearings: firsthand observations, source accounts and checkable records.

  3. Episode 2: The Nimitz Encounter

    Episode 2

    Show notes

In November 2004, U.S. Navy aviators operating off the coast of Southern California encountered something they could not readily identify.

Commander David Fravor and Lieutenant Commander Alex Dietrich described an unusual white object over the Pacific Ocean. Personnel aboard the USS Princeton also reported extraordinary radar observations. Years later, the encounter became central to the national conversation about unidentified anomalous phenomena.

But what does the evidence actually establish?

In Episode 2 of Evidentiary, host Lew Austin Hastings investigates the Nimitz encounter, examining firsthand testimony, the Navy's publicly released video, the reported radar observations, and later accounts—including material from Jay Stratton's 2026 book.

We separate firsthand observations from later recollections, distinguish documented facts from unverified claims, and explore the questions that remain unanswered.

The central question isn't simply what the witnesses saw. It's what the available evidence can prove.

  4. The Standard

    Episode 1

    Show notes

What does it mean to follow the evidence when the subject is UAP?

In Evidentiary’s debut episode, host Lew Austin Hastings introduces the show’s mission and the standard that will guide each investigation: examine the sources, distinguish observations from interpretations, and make clear what the evidence supports—and what remains unknown.

We explore why an unexplained observation does not automatically establish an extraordinary conclusion, and why documentation, corroboration, and context matter.
