  1. Does a point at Villa Park prove Arbeloa's Fulham have turned the corner?

    Show notes

After a torrid time in the cup midweek and a torrid start at Villa Park, you'd be forgiven for fearing the worst this weekend.

But John McGinn's penalty miss, Zion Suzuki going from hero to zero and a team performance that grew into some sustained dominance in the second half saw Alvaro Arbeloa's men win a hard earned point in the Midlands.

So does our 1-1 draw against Aston Villa show that Fulham have officially turned the corner?

Should we be excited by our overall play or in despair at our lacklustre finishing?

And what does it all mean headed into a Craven Cottage meeting with Newcastle United next up?

Join Kish, Dylan and Producer Don as they discuss all that and more on this latest edition of Fulham Focus.

Hosted on Acast. See https://acast.com/privacy for more information.

  3. How convinced should we be after Fulham tamed the Tigers?

    Show notes

Fulham have won a Premier League game!

Yes it was 1-0. And yes our opponents were tame Tigers rather than being capable of much mauling. But was it more convincing than it might seem on paper?

Join Kish, Sarge and Morgs as they try to work whether we should all be Arbeloa In after a Fulham win

How good were King, Charles, Berge and Bassey?

How on earth did King, Iwobi and Garcia miss?

Did our dominance in the stats suggest this game was genuinely a turning point?

Did Alvaro Arbeloa clapping the Hammy End mark something important?

And with 'Frank Lampard's Coventry' next up, should the Fulham faithful be confident we'll pull ourselves out of early season relegation panic stations

All that and more on this edition of Fulham Focus

Hosted on Acast. See https://acast.com/privacy for more information.

  4. Could Arbeloa survive anything other than a win against Hull?

    Show notes

It's been less than 100 days since Alvaro Arbeloa succeeded Marco Silva as Fulham manager, but after a capitulation at Ipswich we find ourselves bottom of the Premier League

Is it too early for fans to have made up their mind about his leadership?

Were the subs really to blame for our passive surrendering of the lead on Saturday?

Should he lead us into our next two relegation 6 pointers against Hull and Coventry?

And how much of the blame for our current mess is on squad building rather than tactical and game management?

Join Kish, Sam and Stuart as they pick over the bones of another painful weekend and look ahead to a massive one on the horizon in this (worryingly alarming 6 games into the season!) edition of Fulham Focus

Hosted on Acast. See https://acast.com/privacy for more information.

  5. One point gained, or two points lost?

    Show notes

If you'd told most Fulham fans after the shambles of Palace that we'd get a point from Liverpool and Man Utd we might well of taken it

But after Matheus Cunha offered the latest dagger at the death for the visitors at Craven Cottage that game almost felt like a loss

So why did Fulham sit off and invited United into the game after going ahead?

Were the subs and switch to 5 at the back to blame?

Did bright attacking moments from King and Iwobi show that they were there for the taking?

And have we seen enough to truly believe the Whites can get their season up and running with three massive fixtures when we return from the international break

Join Dylan, James and Kish as they cheer heroics from Leno and Bassey, boo Lisandro Martinez and salute the Hammersmith End squirrel on this edition of Fulham Focus

Hosted on Acast. See https://acast.com/privacy for more information.

  6. Can a 0-0 draw at Anfield be the turning point in Fulham's season?

    Show notes

We all feared the worst, but just when you think you're out, Fulham find a way to pull you back in again!

Join Kish, Sarge and Dylan as they reflect on a 0-0 draw at Anfield that seemed like so much more and answer key questions like:

Is David Affengruber the answer to our prayers at RCB?

Will we be able to hide how good Shea Charles is to keep him all to ourselves?

Is Dominik Szoboszlai still sliding after being sent to the shops by Josh King?

Did Alvaro Arbeloa show he has the pragmatism required to thrive in the Premier League?

And will this be a turning point in our season, with two games this week to try and build on that performance in?

All that and more on the latest episode of Fulham Focus

  7. Is it too early to totally panic about Fulham's dire defending?

    Show notes

What the ***ing hell was that?!

On and off the pitch Fulham's 3-2 loss to Palace was pretty panic inducing

Whether it's poor defensive structure and individual errors, or the Hammersmith End boo-ing off the players, everything seems a little chaotic for just 3 games into the season

So what went wrong? And can Alvaro Arebloa fix it with ominous fixtures against Liverpool and Man Utd next up?

Join Kish, Sarge and Dylan as they discuss all that and look for some reasons to be cheerful after a dismal defeat (mainly Josh King tbh) on this edition of Fulham Focus

Hosted on Acast. See https://acast.com/privacy for more information.

  8. After surrendering at the Stadium of Light are Fulham entering a season defining week?

    Show notes

The buzzword this summer at Fulham was 'change'. Change of manager, change of system, change of players. Yet didn't Sunderland away feel remarkably similar to away day frustrations in recent years?

Where was the much vaunted press and personality hinted at in Alvaro Arbeloa's first outings as manager?

Why are we still so blunt in attack, failing even to get a shot on target here?

How are we still reliant on players struggling to deal with physical requirements of this system and the Premier League?

And what on earth can we do about it this week, before the transfer window closes and fellow early season strugglers Crystal Palace come to the Cottage next weekend?

Join Kish, Wiggo and Morgan as they share their coping strategies for the boredom and despair associated with our showing at the Stadium of Light and discuss whether there is any light at the end of the tunnel after our drab showing in this edition of Fulham Focus

Hosted on Acast. See https://acast.com/privacy for more information.

  9. Derby defeat, but were there enough reasons to be cheerful about Arbeloa's Fulham?

    Show notes

An inauspicious start to the Alvaro Arbeloa era at Craven Cottage had us all fearing the worst, but after Fulham dug in to keep things competitive against Chelsea how are we all now feeling about the season ahead?

Join Kish, Baldo and Producer Don as they relive a chaotic West London Derby and take the temperature ahead of games against Wimbledon and Fulham

Was this Josh King's coming of age moment?

How worried should we be about our wide open defence?

Can Berge and Iwobi reliably hold down the midfield against PL opposition?

And in Gonzalo Garcia have Fulham finally found their long term starting striker?

All that and some much needed Enzo Fernandez slander on this edition of Fulham Focus

Hosted on Acast. See https://acast.com/privacy for more information.

  10. The 2026-27 Season Preview: Should we be excited or worried?

    Show notes

After 4 years of Premier League continuity, Fulham enter the 2026-27 Premier League season as one of the league's biggest question marks

Is Alvaro Arbeloa the Real deal?

Can you win anything (or avoid relegation/qualify for Europe) with kids?

Who will step up to replace the goal scoring exploits of Raul Jimenez and Harry Wilson?

What has been our biggest off season upgrade? (spoiler: it's probably the Hammersmith End toilets)

    Who remains our biggest weakness?

And will our possession and press make up for some defensive frailties in pre-season?

Join Kish, Wiggo and Dylan as they share their hopes and fears ahead of a new campaign and preview our Monday night season opener in the West London Derby vs Chelsea

  11. Arbeloa, Garcia y Palacios: Viva el Fulham?

    Show notes

New season, new manager, new Fulham?

After being let down by a different team in white bottling it this summer, your Focus faves were ready to be left waiting until late this transfer window for excitement in the form of transfers or kit releases...

Only for Fulham to surprise us all by getting two of each done relatively early by their standards!

So after we've finished drooling over that away kit, what do we make of the Spanish revolution Alvaro Arbeloa is bringing to the banks of the Thames?

Join Kish, Sarge and a returning Matt Baldwin as they try to work out if going all in on young Spanish lads is going to fire us to glory or leave us vulnerable to disaster

Hosted on Acast. See https://acast.com/privacy for more information.

  12. Marco's gone, but who should take over?

    Show notes

We knew it was coming but it doesn't mean it won't still hurt!

Join Sam and Kish as they enlist the help of the entire Fulham Focus family to look back on Marco Silva's 5 year reign at Fulham Football Club

Is it the right time to part ways? Does the manner and destination of his departure sour things slightly? What were the most memorable moments? And where does he rank in the pantheon of Fulham managers?

They then (42:27) get the latest murmurings from the managerial rumour mill as Focus contributors past and present try to work out who should be next in the SW6 dugout

Is Kieran McKenna the right man or too much of a risk? Are names like Slot, Glasner and Amorim a total waste of time? Could we wait for Poch after the World Cup? And are links to some former villains in Frank and, well, Frank simply taking the piss?

All that and more on an extended emergency edition of Fulham Focus

Hosted on Acast. See https://acast.com/privacy for more information.

  13. Preview Pod: Time to say goodbye?

    Show notes

We said goodbye to Europe last week, goodbye to goals long ago and finally it is time to say goodbye to a 2025/26 season that has been consistent in its inconsistency

But are we saying more goodbyes too?

To a Benfica bound Marco Silva?

To Harry Wilson and Raul Jimenez?

And to an era of Fulham Football Club filled with newfound stability, glorious moments, but a familiar ceiling being hit at this time of year?

Join Kish and Sarge as they discuss faltering form, summer rebuilds, who is and isn't on the plane to the World Cup, oh and this Sunday's match too with Newcastle fan and YouTube analyst @CoachMeron

And be sure to subscribe and leave us a review wherever you get your pods to make sure you get our End of Season Review and End of Season Quiz as soon as they are out this summer!

  14. Season over. But should Marco Silva's era at Fulham be over too?

    Show notes

    Misery loves company right?

After a disastrous performance saw Fulham throw away any remaining hope of Europe even as results all over the Premier League tried to help it out, Fulham season is over.

But is Marco Silva's era in charge of the club over too? And should it be?

Join Kish as he hears from three of our own who endured Molineux on Sunday for a combination of personal and professional reasons: Tristan, Dylan and Sam

Together they try to answer some big questions about Fulham's future, decide which non existent attacker is making them most angry and wonder whether Sander Berge will ever win a header

All that and more on this quite sweary and fed up edition of Fulham Focus

Hosted on Acast. See https://acast.com/privacy for more information.

  15. Preview Pod: Do Fulham need to be mindful of 'doing a Wolves' next season?

    Show notes

If Bournemouth last week marked the end of Fulham's season - and quite possibly the end of the Marco Silva era - how should we feel about Wolves away on Sunday?

Is it a total waste of time featuring two teams with little to play for in a game destined to finish 0-0?

Is it a chance to look to the future and field exciting young talent like Josh King, who could drive us forward next season?

Or is it actually a reminder of how fragile Premier League status can be with clubs on the cusp of Europe quickly finding themselves in relegation battles when they get things wrong?

Join Sam and Kish as they discuss Wolves' miserable season with Gully AKA @MolineuxMusings and try to find reasons to be deeply invested in this end-of-season clash.

And stick around for a lively part two in which they ponder whether Fulham should stick or twist with Marco Silva.

  16. Preview Pod: Is victory this weekend Fulham's last chance for Europe?

    Show notes

Ah how must it feel to be unbeaten for months, scoring goals for fun and safe in the knowledge that whilst your beloved manager is off, the club have a successor already in place?

Bournemouth rock up to the Cottage full of confidence and in a coveted 6th place which *could* be enough for Champions League football next season.

But despite the clash in vibes and in styles of play on the pitch - a win for Fulham would put us right in the mix for European football too

So will it happen? Can our patient passing finally unlock some goals? And do we have the solidity and physicality to deal with a dynamic Bournemouth attack?

Join Sam and Kish as they discuss this key clash at the Cottage with Cherries fan and friend of the pod James Musselwhite

Hosted on Acast. See https://acast.com/privacy for more information.

  17. How alarmed should we be by Fulham's dire defending at Arsenal?

    Show notes

What a gutless capitulation of a performance from a team who seemed utterly unaware of how important this weekend could end up being when the season comes to an end...

But enough about Villa's sorry performance against Tottenham, we've got a soft Fulham defeat at the Emirates to discuss!

So join Kish and Dylan as they reluctantly interrupt your Bank Holiday weekend to ponder what Fulham's shambolic first half against Arsenal means for our run in

Will Jedi ever recapture the force?

Was Andersen quite simply the perfect opponent for Gyokeres?

Should we have just left ESR at the Emirates?

Can Fulham tighten up before a crunch European qualification 6-pointer against Bournemouth next weekend?

And what on earth do we have left to try when it comes to fixing our lack of goals?

All that and more on your Fulham Focus match review podcast

  18. Preview Pod: Could Fulham gun down Arsenal's title hopes again?

    Show notes

Let's take a trip down memory lane to 2023-24. Bobby De Cordova-Reid is playing anywhere and everywhere and still popping up with goals. Andreas Pereira is a relentless nuisance. And Joao Palhinha is as deadly in the box as he is in the tackle.

The upshot is four points from our two games against an Arsenal side, who ended up losing out on the Premier League title to Manchester City by just two points

So could Fulham shoot down the Gunners again when we go to the Emirates on Saturday evening?

Join Sam and Kish as they discuss such a prospect with Arsenal fan and friend of the pod, Archie Gaskin.

    • Are our opponents really bottling it?
    • Has Mikel Arteta's 'pragmatic' football helped or hindered the hosts?
    • Will being sandwiched between Champions League semi-finals against Diego Simeone's Atletico Madrid help our cause?
    • And who are the Arsenal dangermen who could yet step up to hurt us?

All that and more in this Fulham Focus Preview.

  19. Against all odds, is Europe back on?

    Show notes

Deflate the armbands, put the pina colada away and get that sunscreen back in the drawer. Because this Saturday in the Cottage sun, Fulham proved they aren't on the beach just yet!

So join Kish and Sarge as they reflect on Sess breaking our duck and Fulham breaking their losing streak against Villa to keep the season very much alive

    They'll answer questions like:

    • Was that Timothy Castagne's best game all season?
    • Is our Left Back genuinely the most predatory finisher at the club?
    • Have Fulham fans finally made peace with the Berge-Lukic partnership?
    • Is Marco Silva right to be a bit irritated at suggestions this season has been underwhelming?
    • And most importantly... does the run in mean we may well still all be going on a European tour?

All that, your weekly mini moan about VAR and with Kish in charge, lots of tactical chat about Fulham's improved pressing in this edition of Fulham Focus

Hosted on Acast. See https://acast.com/privacy for more information.

    1 hr 2 min
  20. Preview Pod: Will Fulham finally score a goal this weekend?

    Show notes

Make no mistake, it's been pretty drab lately.

Fulham haven't scored in five of the last six games, and the only teams that we have netted against since the start of March are relegation fodder like Burnley and Tottenham.

So, after the uneventful 0-0 draw at Brentford, what better than another Saturday lunchtime clash against Champions League-chasing Aston Villa?

Join Sam and Kish as they try to work out who in this Fulham squad could possibly get us firing in front of goal again, let alone winning.

They also discuss Villa's season, Unai Emery's reputation, and whether Morgan Rogers can continue to mug off xG with Dan Lambert from the Villa Park Podcast.

And as silly season approaches, they reflect on the managerial merry-go-round and which of a former Brentford boss (Frank) and a former Chelsea boss (Rosenior) would be more welcome in the Craven Cottage dugout next season if there were to be a vacancy.

All that and more in your home to Aston Villa preview.
