    Show notes

Led by Boozer's 18 points, seven other Grizzlies players scored in double figures to overwhelm the Trail Blazers and help overcome Ty Jerome's difficult shooting night.

This episode discusses Cam Boozer's big performance, Cedric Coward leveling up, and the total team attack that has made the Grizzlies the surprise team of the season.

    Show notes

  4. The Grizzlies are 3-0, Ty Jerome is a problem

    Show notes

The Grizzlies defeated the Warriors and Kings on the road to extend to a 3-0 start to the season, and Ty Jerome is the leading scorer in the NBA. This hot start to the year from Jerome has to some degree overshadowed the performance of Cam Boozer, who was able to secure double-doubles in each of the two road wins.

This episode discusses the perfect start, Ty Jerome's heater, the precocious play of Cam Boozer, the impact of Zach Edey, Jaylen Wells delivering in the Bay Area and more.

Cam Boozer overcame a slow shooting night to post a historic plus-minus and the Grizzlies built on many of the positives of the preseason to come away with a strong showing and start the year with a victory.

  6. Walter Clayton Jr and Micah Peavy are cut

    Show notes

The Grizzlies finalized their opening night roster by cutting Walter Clayton Jr and Micah Peavy. Clayton, the 18th pick in the 2025 draft, was unable to overcome the crowded backcourt which made him expendable. Peavy was picked 40th last season, but did not play in the preseason after being acquired from the Pelicans in the summer.

This episode discusses these cuts, the final roster and depth chart, and looks ahead to the opening of the season.

  7. The Grizzlies beat the Hornets, the roster cut down looms

    Show notes

The Grizzlies wrapped up their preseason with a home win over the Hornets, where we again got extended looks at Cam Boozer, Zach Edey and Ty Jerome. Plus, there was an unexpected starting lineup shift as Kris Murray got a chance to play with the starters.

Perhaps this was a key information gathering opportunity for the team, as they have until 4pm today to decide which two players they get rid of as they cut down to 15 contracts.

This episode discusses the Grizzlies' encouraging preseason, the win over the Hornets, and the looming decision with the roster crunch.

  8. Cam Boozer looks incredible, is it for real? (Guest: Chris Herrington)

    Show notes

The Grizzlies were able to beat the Chicago Bulls in their thrid preseason game, which was the second straight game that Memphis was able to deploy their fully-healthy starting lineup, While Zach Edey's involvement and availability is a big story, the bigger story might be just how elite rookie Cam Boozer and Ty Jerome have looked.

Is three games enough to consider Cam Boozer the frontrunner for Rookie of the Year? And is late career breakout for Ty Jerome something to consider?

To discuss these topics and also cover the entire preseason for the Grizzlies, including roster battles, Chris Herrington joins the show.

  9. Zach Edey plays, and Cam Boozer plays center

    Show notes

The Grizzlies debuted their healthy starting lineup in the second preseason game, with Zach Edey returning to the court for the first time since surgery in March. They may have come up just short against the Magic and Desmond Bane, but the debut of Edey and the continued positive display from Cam Boozer made this another encouraging game.

This episode discusses Edey's performance, Cam Boozer's play and the lineups that featured him at the 5, the "point per minute" offense of Ty Jerome and GG Jackson, plus goes every player that got minutes.

Also: Keith takes a close look at the rotation and the clues it gives to the final roster cutdown.

  13. A healthy squad, and other Media Day takeaways

    Show notes

The update from Grizzlies' media day was that Zach Edey is a full-go (mostly) and there were no other major injuries to report, which is a pleasant change from previous years. That means, however, that training camp in Nashville will be a fierce competition as the team must cut several guaranteed deals to get down to 15 by opening night.

But the players are excited and ready for the opportunity, as they told the media in Memphis on Monday. They talked about their season goals, their thoughts on rebuilding, defying expectations, and what they've seen already from Cam Boozer.

This episode goes over the most important takeaways from what the players, Zach Kleiman and Tuomas Iisalo said at Media Day, plus discusses the training camp roster, including Carson Cooper finally getting officially signed.

  16. The Grizzlies acquire Jordan Hawkins, Micah Peavy and picks for Taj GIbson and AJ Johnson

    Show notes

The Grizzlies picked up a 2nd round pick and a 2nd round pick swap from the New Pelicans in exchange for taking on the contracts of Jordan Hawkins and Micah Peavy. To match the salary, the Grizzlies included Taj Gibson and AJ Johnson, two players who were unlikely to make their opening night roster.

This move clears the way for the Pelicans to complete their signing of Bennedict Mathurin, and provides the Grizzlies some draft capital for taking on money. It also possibly further compounds the Grizzlies roster crunch ahead of training camp and a final cutdown to 15 guaranteed deals.

On this episode, Keith reacts to the trade, explains the details and looks at the updated depth chart and the seven players currently fighting for three roster spots.

  17. Do the Grizzlies have the worst best player in the NBA? (Guest: Chris Herrington)

    Show notes

What are reasonable expectations for a team that doesn't have anyone projected to come anywhere close to the All-Star game? Of all the teams in the NBA, do the Grizzlies actually have the worst best player?

To answer this question, Chris Herrington joins this episode. He and Keith also discuss potential training camp battles, assumptions about the Grizzlies that might be wrong, the number of games Zach Edey can be hoped to play, GG Jackson's ceiling, and a lot more.

  19. Who leads the Grizzlies in scoring, and is Richie Saunders going back to college?

    Show notes

The Grizzlies may have a relatively deep squad, but are considered to have very little top end NBA talent. They will be depending a lot on Cam Boozer, Cedric Coward and Zach Edey to lead the way.

Is one of those frontcourt players most likely to lead the team in scoring this season? Or could it be veterans Ty Jerome or Jerami Grant? Or perhaps someone else?

This episode tries to figure out which player is most likely to lead the Grizzlies in points per game this season, plus takes an in-depth look at what the rotation could look like when every player is healthy.

Also covered on this episode: could Richie Saunders spurn the Grizzleis and go back to college?
