Are you tired of feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, and stuck in mommy survival mode? Maybe you know what would help, but you struggle to stay consistent long enough to see any results. Do you feel guilty when you prioritize yourself instead of maintaining everyone else's expectations?

You're not alone.

Welcome to Habit Stacking Mom, the podcast that helps overwhelmed moms create consistency and confidence by organizing their habits, routines, and responsibilities more intentionally.

Hi, I'm Jess, a wife, stay-at-home mom of three girls, and creator of the Habit Stacked Life.

For years I lived in a cycle of burnout, frustration, and constantly feeling behind. I wasted time, struggled to follow through on routines, carried the mental load alone, and felt like I was always reacting to life instead of leading it.

Everything changed when I stopped trying to fix everything at once and started focusing on consistently stacking simple habits together each day. Because small habits repeated consistently create bigger results than big plans that never get implemented.

This podcast will help you create simple routines, build consistency in the areas that matter most, prioritize your health and well-being, reduce overwhelm, manage your home more intentionally, and create systems that balance the life you actually want to live.

Each week you'll learn practical strategies, habit-stacking experiments, simple planning systems, and realistic routines designed specifically for busy moms.

The goal isn't perfection. It's creating habits that help you show up with more energy, more balance, more confidence, and more consistency in the areas that matter most.

So grab your earbuds and let's get stacking.

  1. Ep 236 // Messy Kitchen Again? 3 Ways to Simplify Your Cleaning Routine

    Show notes

Momma, does it feel like no matter how many times you clean your kitchen, the mess just keeps coming back? Between breakfast dishes, afternoon snacks, and dinner cleanup, keeping up with it all can feel like a never-ending chore.

But what if your messy kitchen isn't actually a cleaning problem? What if something about your daily routine is making it harder than it needs to be?

In today's episode, we're looking at three ways to simplify your kitchen cleaning routine by identifying where things start falling apart, making your space work better for your family, and rethinking how everyday tasks fit into your schedule. Because sometimes the solution isn't cleaning more. It's changing how we approach the things we're already doing.

Remember, Momma, motherhood will change the plan, but learning to stack will keep you moving forward. ❤️

    Show notes

Does laundry seem to pile up faster than you can keep up with it? Between washing, drying, folding, and putting everything away, it's easy to keep putting it off until those overflowing baskets become one more overwhelming thing on your to-do list.

But what if the reason you're procrastinating on laundry has less to do with motivation and more to do with how you're managing it? Sometimes it's the little things we overlook that make everyday household responsibilities feel harder than they need to be.

In today's episode, we're taking a closer look at why laundry routines break down and how a few simple adjustments can make it easier to stay on top of this never-ending chore. Because managing your home shouldn't require constantly reminding yourself of everything that needs to get done!

Motherhood will change the plan, but learning to stack will help you keep moving forward.

    Hey Momma!

You know what you want to accomplish. You've made the plan. You might even have the motivation to get started. So why does following through feel so difficult when motherhood gets busy?

    Momma, I GET IT!

After having my babies, I struggled to find myself in the middle of motherhood. With every child, I felt further away from the woman I used to be, and taking care of myself always seemed less urgent than everything happening around me.

  7. Ep 230 // Struggling to Stay Organized?? Your Daily Habits are the Missing Routine

    Show notes

How many times have you said, "I just need to get organized!"?

We spend hours decluttering our homes, planning our schedules, and trying to get our lives back in order. But somehow, a week later, we're right back where we started. So what are we missing?

Momma, getting organized and STAYING organized are two completely different things!

Today, I'm sharing a recent experience with my bonus room that reminded me why organization isn't just about creating order. It's about building the daily habits that help us maintain it.

Whether you're trying to organize your home, improve your health, or get control of your schedule, there are three important pieces to making lasting progress: awareness, planning, and maintenance.

Because the goal isn't to create a life that never gets messy. It's to build routines that help you get back on track when life happens.

  8. Ep 229 // Start Habit Stacking Self Care Into Your Daily Routines

    Show notes

Have you ever looked around at another load of laundry, another sink full of dishes, another day of taking care of everyone else and wondered… when is there going to be room for me again?

Motherhood may not suddenly get less demanding. The responsibilities aren't going anywhere. But that doesn't mean you have to keep waiting for life to make room for you.

In this episode, I'm sharing how I started habit stacking small acts of self-care into my daily routines long before I had the capacity for bigger changes. What started with one incredibly simple health habit eventually became the foundation for taking better care of myself and making room for the woman I am outside of motherhood.

You don't have to change your entire life to start getting yourself back. You just need somewhere small enough to begin.

Plus, I'm sharing how you can take this work even deeper with me inside my upcoming Organize Your Health workshop.

Motherhood will change the plan, but learning to stack will help you keep moving forward.

  9. Ep 228 // It’s Time To Organize Your Health Goals Even As A Busy Mom

    Show notes

I know you've heard of organizing your home...

But have you ever considered that the reason you keep struggling to prioritize your health might actually be an organization problem?

    Think about it.

You know you need to take care of yourself. You probably even know some of the things you want to change.

So why does your health keep getting pushed to the bottom of the list???

As moms, we spend so much time organizing everything around us—the house, the schedules, the routines, the appointments, the kids—that it's incredibly easy to leave the woman responsible for holding all of it together completely off the plan.

Today, I want to change that.

We're kicking off a brand-new conversation about your health, your capacity and what happens when we take the same planning and Habit Stacking principles I've been teaching you and apply them directly to YOU.

And I'm officially opening the doors to my brand-new Organize Your Health Workshop!

This isn't about giving you another list of healthy things you should be doing. It's about taking the health goal that's been sitting on your heart and learning how to actually make room for it inside the life you're already living.

Because knowing what you want to do and knowing how to consistently make room to do it are two very different things.

    And that second part?

    That's my lane.

  10. Ep 227 // Time Management For Busy Moms: Stop Guessing How Long Routines Take

    Show notes

How long does it actually take your family to get out the door?

What about making dinner, resetting the kitchen, getting through bedtime—or completing that "45-minute" workout?

You probably have an answer. But is it accurate?

As moms, we're constantly building our schedules around how long we THINK things should take. Then we're frustrated when we're rushing, running late, or can't fit in the habits we said we wanted to prioritize.

Today we're going to stop planning with imaginary minutes.

I'll show you a simple way to figure out what your routines and habits actually cost so you can start building plans around your real life—not the version of your life that somehow always runs perfectly on time.

Motherhood will change the plan, but learning to stack will keep you moving forward.

  11. Ep 226 // Struggle With Consistency? It's Because Your Habits Cost Minutes

    Show notes

What if the reason you struggle to stay consistent isn't because you need more discipline but because you keep trying to add habits without making room for them?

    Every habit costs something: minutes.

And when your days already feel full, starting a new habit means those minutes have to come from somewhere.

In today's episode, we're changing the way you think about building habits by looking at what you're actually willing to trade for them. Because you don't need to magically find more time, you need to decide which habits are worth making room for.

If you've been setting goals, starting strong, and then wondering why you can't keep up with them, this episode will help you see consistency very differently.

Motherhood will change the plan, but learning to stack will keep you moving forward.

    Show notes

Have you ever set the exact same goal three months in a row and still not gotten any closer to it?

It's not that you want it any less. Wanting was never the missing piece.

On Monday, we talked about why your goals need an actual place on your calendar, not just a place in your head. Today we're taking that a step further and walking through exactly how to find that place, together.

Because closing what I call "the goal gap" isn't about more willpower, more motivation, or trying harder next week.

It's about seeing your real week, finding the fifteen minutes already hiding in it, and giving your one goal a specific time and place to happen.

Your goal doesn't need you to want it more. Your goal needs a place on your calendar it can actually call home.

    Show notes

Have you ever wondered why stepping away from your family, even for a few days, requires so much work before you ever leave?

After traveling to Florida for a five-day business conference, I came home realizing just how much information is constantly running underneath our everyday family routines. My husband did an amazing job with our girls, but being away made it incredibly obvious how much of what keeps our household moving normally lives inside my head.

In today's episode, we're talking about the connection between family routines and intentional communication and why a routine that looks like it's no longer working may not actually be a routine problem at all.

We'll talk about the invisible information moms are constantly collecting, why other people can't automatically anticipate what we know, and how missed communication can show up as rushing, forgotten tasks, frustration and routines that suddenly seem to fall apart.

  16. Ep 221 // How Moms Can Prioritize Which Routines Need To Be Rebuilt First

    Show notes

When several routines in your life feel like they aren't working, it can be tempting to sit down and try to reorganize everything at once.

Your morning routine. Dinner. Laundry. Workouts. Bedtime. The kids' responsibilities.

But everything might need attention without everything needing to be the priority.

In today's episode, I'm showing you how to identify which routine is creating the most friction in your life right now so you know where to start.

You'll learn how to use a simple Impact Score to evaluate the stress, frequency, and impact of a struggling routine, why transition windows are often where the biggest friction shows up, and how looking one stack earlier can help you uncover what's actually creating the problem.

Instead of rebuilding your entire routine, you'll choose one small change to practice this week so you can create more predictability without adding more pressure.

  17. Ep 220 // Why Routines That Worked Before Motherhood Don't Work Anymore

    Show notes

Motherhood changes more than your schedule... It changes how predictable your life is.

The routines that once felt easy to maintain can suddenly feel impossible when you're managing school mornings, activities, meals, changing schedules, interruptions, and everyone else's needs alongside your own.

In today's episode, we're talking about why that loss of predictability creates so much mental pressure, how constantly “recalculating” increases your cognitive load, and why even small disruptions can leave you feeling rushed, reactive, and exhausted.

You'll also learn why predictable routines are so valuable for both you and your kids and why struggling with a routine doesn't mean you're inconsistent. Sometimes your life has simply changed, and your routines need time to change with it.

Your goal isn't to make motherhood perfectly predictable. It's to create enough predictable rhythm around the things you CAN anticipate so you have more capacity for the things you can't.

  18. Ep 219 // How To Plan A Busy Schedule To Reduce Stress And Pressure

    Show notes

A busy schedule doesn't always feel stressful because you have too much to do. Sometimes it's stressful because certain parts of your day leave you with very little flexibility.

School pickup. A doctor's appointment. A meeting. Practice at 5:30. The moment something has to happen at a specific time, it creates pressure around everything that has to happen before and after it.

And if you don't recognize those pressure points ahead of time, you can end up rushing, frustrated, and wondering why a day that didn't look that busy on paper felt so overwhelming.

In today's episode, we're getting practical about how to plan a busy schedule differently. You'll learn how to identify the parts of your week that require more from you, anticipate what might become harder because of them, and make small adjustments before the pressure arrives.

  19. Ep 218 // Why Managing Everyone Else's Routines Leaves Moms Overwhelmed

    Show notes

Have you ever wondered how you can remember exactly which cup your child wants, when the gymnastics leotard needs to be washed, what snack needs to be packed, and where everyone left their shoes but completely forget to eat?

Motherhood gives us thousands of opportunities to practice anticipating everyone else. We notice the hunger before the meltdown, prepare for what’s coming next, and learn all the tiny details that keep our families running smoothly. Eventually, we get so good at it that we don't even realize how much information we're carrying.

But somewhere along the way, we can lose the habit of anticipating ourselves.

In today’s episode, we’re talking about why putting yourself last may not be the conscious act of self-sacrifice we often make it out to be. It may be a pattern you've practiced so many times that your attention automatically goes outward instead of inward.

If you've been wondering why “just prioritize yourself” never seems to work, this episode will help you see the problem differently and start rebuilding the habit of noticing what you need, too.

    Show notes

Mama, what if the reason you're struggling to keep up isn't because you need a better schedule but because you don't have enough capacity for the schedule you're trying to keep?

Motherhood requires an incredible amount of physical, mental, and emotional energy. And while we spend a lot of time talking about organizing our schedules, planning our weeks, and creating better routines, there's another piece we can't ignore: the health of the person carrying the plan.

In today's episode, we're talking about four simple health habits that can help support your capacity for motherhood.

Your health isn't just another thing to squeeze onto your to-do list.

It influences how much of YOU is available for everything already on it.

Instead of trying to overhaul your health, start by choosing one small habit you can consistently support and build from there.
