Tell Them Why You’re Mad: LAFC’s Humiliating 3-1 Loss, Vasquez’s Bicycle Kick & #HealVince
Episode 349
Show notes
Travis and Darren react to a miserable 3–1 home loss for LAFC, one of the most hopeless, deflating performances we can remember despite a late Sergio Vasquez bicycle kick, so we turned this episode into a Tell Them Why You’re Mad call-in show. We also LAUNCH the VIRAL HASHTAG #HealVince, as Vince could not join us tonight while stuck in the hospital awaiting surgery after breaking his wrist playing soccer today, which is far more impressive than us breaking our hearts WATCHING soccer. At least he DID something. Anyway, LAFC is locked into 6th place for the playoffs, and they still played Bouanga at the 9, and it still didn't work. The players didn't have it tonight, but as callers suggested, between the players, coaching, and front office, there's plenty of blame to go around. The big Happy Foot for us tonight was our halftime meet up and photo with all of yout! For a Sad Foot Season, we are incredibly honored to have this Happy Foot Community. Thank you guys for building this stupid show with us. WE LOVE YOU BYEEEE!

LAFC vs Minnesota Preview + El Tráfico Controversies & Playoff Scenarios
Episode 348
Show notes
LAFC’s final home match of the regular season against Minnesota United is Sunday at BMO Stadium (with a halftime HaFoSaFo listener meetup/photo at the northeast corner!). A highly controversial El Tráfico week featured a toddler LAFC fan hit by a Galaxy supporter on an e-bike, an LAFC fan spitting on an older Galaxy supporter, and a viral “Ni hao” vs “mijo” misunderstanding involving a famous LAFC fan in a big hat. Meanwhile, the West is still a TIGHT TABLE. We look at likely playoff opponents (Dallas, St. Louis, San Jose), LAFC’s road struggles, and Minnesota as a trap game (yeah, I said it). And how we feeling about MLS Cup at this point? Any hope left?

LAFC vs Galaxy 2-2: LAFC Fans React to Another Wild El Tráfico Finish
Episode 347
Show notes
Travis, Vince, and Darren break down a chaotic 2–2 El Tráfico draw that felt like a win and a loss at the same time, with frustration over a first-half goal called back, late offside drama, and ongoing concerns about refereeing and time added on. The big takeaway is how much better LAFC looked after halftime with Sieb playing as the 9 and Bouanga back on the left, creating wave after wave of pressure and chances; Choinière’s influence off the bench also helped, while Delgado and Vasquez draw criticism for turnovers. We take your calls and try to unpack the mixed emotions of a game-winning goal at the death called back to end a playoffs-clinching El Tráfico draw.

Former LAFC Coach Marc Dos Santos Tells All - What Really Happened?
Episode 345
Show notes
Travis and Vince sit down with former LAFC coach Marc Dos Santos to discuss his years with the club, his emotions after being let go, and why pro sports is “cutthroat.” Marc shares his favorite LAFC memory—Gareth Bale’s extra-time goal in the MLS Cup Final—and behind-the-scenes details from that week. He reflects on the season’s highs and lows, including the Concacaf Champions League run, fatigue, roster and visa challenges, transfer-window instability, and officiating mistakes the league later acknowledged. Marc explains how LAFC’s desired style influenced evaluations, describing the difficulty of shifting from a transition-based identity to more possession and pressure. He addresses the “MAGA” label tied to social-media follows, and highlights unsung staff, players he admired—especially Giorgio Chiellini—and his all-time LAFC best XI.

LAFC vs NYCFC Postgame: Walta Worldie, Sonny’s Last-Kick Chance & Why This System Isn’t Working
Episode 344
Show notes
Darren and Vince react to LAFC’s frustrating draw at NYCFC, highlighted by Leo Walta’s spectacular set-piece goal, Hugo Lloris’ saves, and a last-second chance that could have stolen a win. Despite taking four points this week, the performances under Xavi aren’t improving. Players are being used out of position—especially Denis Bouanga at center forward—and there's a lack of chance creation, cohesion, and ball progression. LAFC spent long stretches without shots and looked worse against a bad opponent. For the week, the results are good enough, but for the project to be good enough to do anything in the playoffs, we're not there, and we'll see if anything changes in a big El Trafico matchup next week.

LAFC Had a Man Up and Still Didn't Win?
Episode 341
Show notes
Travis and Vince react to LAFC’s 1-1 draw at BMO Stadium against the Vancouver Whitecaps in the first match of the Xavi era. The team played most of the game up a man yet conceded first and failed to create enough big chances. They discuss the new 4-4-2 setup aimed at keeping Son and Bouanga closer, early bright spells, and why a system change can’t happen quickly with limited training and players returning from international duty. They highlight strong performances from Vazquez and Leo Walta, question decisions like starting Segura, and break down the on-field dispute between Choinière and Segura as a sign of adjustment to a more aggressive pressing approach.

Episode 338
Show notes
Travis jumps on an emergency Happy Foot Sad Foot livestream after LAFC announces it has parted ways with head coach Marc Dos Santos, reading the club’s statement and reacting to the surprising mid-season move following a frustrating loss and a poor run of form. We discuss why the club may have acted now during the international break, what it signals about urgency and accountability, and the hope a coaching change could spark a talented roster before the playoff push. Travis shares an unconfirmed rumor that assistant Andy Rose will serve as interim coach, and the chat throws out potential long-term candidates. Geoff Tock calls in to debate the timing and the value of chasing “variance;” Soccerwise’s David Gass joins to explain league-wide context, John Thorrington’s role, and possible coaching directions for LAFC moving forward; and The Counter Press' Kirk Kinsey joins to dig into the tactics.

LAFC Goal Called Back, Dallas Loss & What’s Left to Save the Season
Episode 338
Show notes
Travis, Darren, and Vince react to LAFC’s match at FC Dallas, which ends as a 1–0 loss after a would-be equalizer is called back following a controversial VAR-related decision. We talk about how the international break and missing key players tanked the quality, why moral victories don’t matter with two wins in 16, and what the remaining schedule (including Vancouver and Austin at home) means for any turnaround and playoff positioning. We highlight positives like Sergio Vasquez’s impact and other young contributors, worry briefly about Vasquez’s hamstring, and discuss roster depth, injuries, and the league’s scheduling choices. We also debate what Marc Dos Santos needs to do to keep his job with the upcoming “sprint season,” share news that Thayllon is arriving Monday, and wrap with lighter asides, super chats, and and way too much discussion on how hot the team is.

Heartbreak in the Final Minute: LAFC Fans React to Draw with a Man Down vs San Jose
Episode 336
Show notes
Travis and Darren react to a devastating late draw for LAFC in San Jose after going down a man early on a soft foul that still had to be a red once called. We break down why, despite the heartbreak, this felt like a proud, gutsy defensive performance, highlighted by huge nights from Son and Denis Bouanga (who breaks the club record for regular-season goals) and a remarkable game from Hugo Lloris. We also debate key refereeing moments involving Drew Fisher, VAR, and disallowed goals, shout out standout defending from Porteous, Tafari, and the back line, and air a few Sad Feet including Sieb struggling and late sub frustrations. LAFC vs San Jose Preview: Tight Table, Bad Vibes, and Are We MDS Out?
Episode 335
Show notes
San Jose sit fourth and we sit sixth with just one point between us, so Travis and Darren preview LAFC’s Saturday afternoon match at Levi’s Stadium and why it feels like a massive six-pointer in a brutally tight Western Conference table. With Vince “missing,” we run through LAFC’s ugly form (seven points in eight matches, no wins since July 25), the bright spot of a record number of clean sheets led by Hugo Lloris, and how close we still are to second place despite everything. We debate whether firing Marc Dos Santos with eight games left is worth the shock to the system, dig into tactical and statistical reasons for the attacking struggles, and then reset with an annual LAFC Fan Meditation.

Rock Bottom? LAFC Fans React to Embarrassing 3-1 Loss at Sporting KC
Episode 334
Show notes
Darren and Vince break down LAFC’s frustrating 3–1 loss to last-place Sporting Kansas City, debating whether this is “rock bottom” and how much blame falls on tactics, roster decisions, and player readiness. We discuss the first-half lineup choices, halftime adjustments that improved tempo and chance creation, and key moments including Bouanga’s goal, defensive mistakes on SKC’s goals, and missed opportunities that could have changed the match. We take callers, none of whom have anything optimistic to say, but it still makes us feel better.

LAFC Fans React to 2-0 Win vs RB New York: Disappointment or Progress? Or Both?
Episode 333
Show notes
At nearly 1:00 AM on the East Coast, Travis joins Vince and Darren break down LAFC’s 2-0 win over the New York Red Bulls, a crucial result albeit a frustraing performance due to poor finishing that could have made it 4-0 or 5-0 by halftime. Jude Terry’s composed strike and Sieb’s banger are bright spots amid missed chances from Bouanga and Son, whose first touch and fatigue are major concerns. We discuss how LAFC tactically exploited Red Bulls’ high line, the TIGHT TABLE in the Western Conference with nine games left, and the return of Igor Jesus after an ACL injury. We also look ahead to Kansas City and debate coaching, roster shuffling, and who’s stepping up beyond the usual scorers.

LAFC Blow Two Leads in RSL 2-2 Draw (Again) | UNFILTERED Reactions from LAFC Fans
Episode 331
Show notes
Darren hosts solo with Vince and Travis out, reacting to LAFC’s 2-2 draw at Real Salt Lake that felt like another loss after LAFC led twice and couldn’t hold it. There WERE positives, like strong Hugo Lloris saves, a new look with Shaffelburg behind Bouanga, and Bouanga and Son each posting a goal and an assist on two textbook transition goals, but defensive breakdowns, poor clearances, fatigue, and reliance on isolated individual moments rather than cohesive, creative team play all came back to bite them in the ass (again). New blood is here though, we'll see who can do what and what the homestretch brings.
