In this episode of Here’s The Thing, KevOnStage and That Chick Angel react to the viral video of a pastor introducing his second wife during a church service, announcing they are in a polygynous marriage. The duo breaks down the congregation's reaction, the theology (or lack thereof), and whether this would fly at a COGIC or Acts 2:38 church. They also discuss Airbnb's new policy change that stops hosts from forcing guests to do chores, and share their own nightmare Airbnb stories involving hidden cameras, uninvited dinner guests, and six flights of stairs with merch bags.
Next up: Ethan Klein of H3H3 cheated on his wife Hila, walked away from all their businesses, and lost a $600,000 podcast studio set built just two months ago. The crew debates whether you can walk away from that kind of money even when you're in the wrong.
The conversation takes a turn into the beauty world as Black women are reportedly ditching expensive hair salons for Ulta, and the hosts compare notes on Fantastic Sams, barber college, and the rising cost of getting your hair done. Then it is NFL prediction time, with Angel making a bold dark horse pick that nobody saw coming.
Plus: Bryson Tiller's tour, Trey Songz comeback, a goat that sings off-key, peach cobbler discourse, and Kev's hotel freedom routine.

A 3-year-old Black soccer phenom was kicked out of his youth soccer league after the league director called 911 on the child's mother for being "disruptive." KevOnStage, Angel, and Joshy Gonz break down the shocking 911 call, the racial dynamics of calling police on a Black family, and why this kid deserves a soccer academy, not a ban. Then they react to Nicki Minaj being floated as a potential White House press secretary replacement, Trump's unhinged rally comments, and a deep dive into the WNBA Finals, where Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream are fighting to stay alive against the Golden State Valkyries. Plus, a heated HomeGoods debate, GLP-1 talk, and holiday party food predictions.

This week on Here's the Thing, KevOnStage and That Chick Angel break down a Texas wedding venue refusing to refund $15,909 to a grieving bride whose fiance died seven months before the wedding -- and then counter-suing her for the remaining balance. The crew debates wedding contract ethics, airplane armrest etiquette, and whether the middle seat deserves both armrests (it does). Plus: a motorcycle club's funeral ritual goes viral, D.L. Hughley reveals he couldn't read and shares a painful Chris Rock story, Kerry Washington's Chris Rock advice for Black women in Hollywood, a Fayette County politician named Jamie West delivers the most unhinged campaign interview ever, Kevin confesses to farting on planes and stop-paying campus parking checks, and the team debates whether Sade's name is actually pronounced "Shar-day." In this episode of Here's the Thing, KevOnStage and That Chick Angel break down Angel Reese's dominant 30-point, 16-rebound performance in Game 2 of the WNBA Finals against the Golden State Valkyries, debating whether the Atlanta Dream can close it out in five and what a championship would mean for Reese's legacy after being traded from the Chicago Sky last offseason. The crew then reacts to reports that Jay-Z will headline the Super Bowl LXI halftime show in Los Angeles, revisiting Cam'ron's hilarious old clip calling out Jay-Z's "availability." They also review Cardi B's NPR Tiny Desk performance, unpack why most rappers struggle as live performers, and go on an unforgettable rant about how modern artists skip the grind -- from the mall to the fair to Summer Jam -- delivering the now-infamous "gumbo with no roux" metaphor. Plus: Kevin's terrifying meet-and-greet "auntie handcuffs" story at the Charlotte airport, a Black woman getting kicked out of Ken Paxton's Republican campaign event in Texas, Trump's "best poverty rates" comments, and a raw conversation about ADHD, autism, and whether everybody's on the spectrum.

KevOnStage and That Chick Angel break down the wildest stories of the week, starting with the viral Trash Can Girl TikTok saga, a North Carolina neighborhood trash can feud that ended in a backyard brawl and the internet taking sides. Then they debate Kelly Clarkson's "Birdgate" controversy after she called out a Brooklyn store for refusing to sell her a mechanical bird, raising the question: should celebrities use their platforms to complain about small businesses?

The crew also gives Jason Weaver his flowers after he got dragged for not knowing his own star power -- from ‘The Lion King’ to playing young Michael Jackson, his legacy runs deep. Plus, Kendrick Sampson's hot take about wanting to have babies with his homegirls without romance sparks a hilarious debate about modern relationships, and Tobey Maguire officiating his ex-wife Jennifer Meyer's wedding to a Nigerian billionaire heir leaves everyone speechless. In this episode of Here's the Thing, KevOnStage and That Chick Angel react to Shane Gillis's viral 'Saturday Night Live' monologue about women's gym attire and the double standard in comedy. They debate whether controversy only propels white male comedians forward while Black women comedians get overlooked for the same stage — and Kev names more than 20 Black women comedians who deserve an SNL slot. Plus, Ray Charles's legendary takedown of Elvis Presley resurfaces, a deep dive into Nate Bargatze making $82 million as the biggest touring comedian in the world, WNBA Finals predictions with Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream facing the Golden State Valkyries, the US government planning a public firing squad execution and what it says about America's history of spectacle violence, and Kev delivers a viral-worthy impression of an angry Trump supporter that you have to hear to believe.

Franchesca Ramsey sits down with KevOnStage and That Chick Angel to break down her 20-year career as one of the original internet content creators. From making hair tutorials on YouTube in 2009 to going viral with "Shit White Girls Say to Black Girls" in 2012, winning YouTube's NextUp competition for $35,000, and making $45,000 in a single month off one video, Franchesca shares the unfiltered truth about what happens after virality hits. She opens up about bombing her ’SNL’ audition, landing her first TV writing gig on ‘The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore,’ suffering from severe imposter syndrome in a writers' room alongside Cord Jefferson, and selling seven television shows to networks like Comedy Central, Netflix, and Nickelodeon -- none of which went to series. Franchesca also gets real about why she went back to a day job and why that's not giving up on your dream, her return to standup comedy after a 15-year hiatus, why virality is not a business model, and how turning 40 gave her the confidence to finally own who she is. Plus, she talks about her content creator masterclass, The Brand Is Strong, and why she stopped waiting for permission to make her own content. #KevOnStage #ContentCreation #YouTubeOG #ViralContent #TVWriting #Comedy #StandupComedy #CreatorEconomy

KevOnStage and That Chick Angel react to Chris Rock's string of controversial interviews -- from his "ghetto famous" comments to the story about refusing to pay for his friend's brother's legal defense after 19 years in prison. Plus: a woman survives a botched lethal injection (they're calling it "double jeopardy"), an Arizona judge allows an AI-generated video of a dead victim "forgiving" his killer in court, Angel's unhinged student loan rant, Zay Zay's hilarious TikToks, Starbucks pumpkin pie season, and a wild conversation about farting in your hand. Diarra Kilpatrick, creator, showrunner, and star of the Paramount+ series ‘Diarra From Detroit,’ sits down with KevOnStage and That Chick Angel for an unfiltered conversation about what it really takes to build a television show as a Black woman in Hollywood. Diarra shares her journey from growing up in Section 8 housing in Detroit to attending NYU Tisch during 9/11, to clawing her way through the entertainment industry with no safety net. With a brother who served as mayor of Detroit (Kwame Kilpatrick) and a father whose federal indictment dried up family resources, Diarra had to be relentless just to survive, let alone create her own show. She breaks down the stop-and-start process of getting ‘Diarra From Detroit’ made, the budget realities of independent television, casting legends like Morris Chestnut, Phylicia Rashad, Method Man, Bokeem Woodbine, and Glynn Turman when you cannot afford top-name talent, and the network battles over everything from casting to how she wears her own hair. The conversation also covers why she chose the detective genre to put Black women in spaces they rarely occupy, the mental health toll of being a creator who also has to market her own show, navigating social media negativity, her interracial marriage, and why supporting Black-created content matters now more than ever. With appearances by KevOnStage's disastrous audition tape, Angel getting cut from ‘Churchy’ twice, and a heated debate about skin tones, this episode is equal parts inspiration, industry insider knowledge, and pure comedy.

In this episode of Here's The Thing, KevOnStage and ThatChickAngel unpack the internet's most unhinged moments. Kevin puts his foot down on people using AI to insert his deceased brother into photos, glowing him up like Bruce Leroy in loafers. They discuss the even more disturbing AI video of Nolan Wells depicted as Migos rapper Takeoff, and why people need to stop playing with the dead. The conversation shifts to the Crip Mac "Kalani Bear, That's My Baby" TikTok takeover that Kevin cannot stop watching. Then they break down the Caleb Flynn murder trial, where a song the former ‘American Idol’ contestant allegedly wrote for his mistress was played in open court. Next up is the Kirk Franklin and GloRilla gospel collaboration that has the saints up in arms, and why this controversy is the exact same one Kirk has faced for 30 years. The hosts dive into the OutKast vs. Ovrkast trademark lawsuit, where a producer admitted on video to getting confused between the names. Melissa Fredericks gets a shoutout for a full Sunday soul food spread on a Monday. The episode closes with a review of the ‘A Different World’ Netflix reboot, a Life360 check on Kevin's son Joe's late night "Bible studies" across Los Angeles County, and a firm message to leave Jasmine Guy alone.
