I’m Proud of Myself, But I’m Tired | Season 4 Finale | Ep. 120
Season 4, Episode 45
Show notes
Welcome to Episode 120 of Kultivation w/ Kevie!
As we close the chapter on Season 4, I wanted this finale to be different.
Originally, I thought this episode would be another nostalgia-centered conversation. Maybe a tribute to a favorite cartoon, a beloved character, or one final trip back to some of the stories that helped shape so many of us. But the more I reflected on this season, the more I realized there was another conversation I needed to have first...
A personal one.
In this solo season finale, I'm opening up about burnout, survival mode, feeling behind, creative exhaustion, and the pressure that can come from constantly trying to build something meaningful while managing the realities of everyday life. After spending months balancing podcasting, editing, networking, travel, content creation, home projects and working night shift as a nurse, I found myself asking a simple question:
"Kevie, how are you really doing?"
This episode is about what I discovered when I finally stopped long enough to answer that question honestly.
I talk about the hidden cost of always being the strong one, the danger of tying our worth to productivity, the guilt that often comes with resting, and the realization that consistency without balance can quietly become self-neglect. I also share some of the lessons this season taught me about growth, resilience, unrealistic expectations, comparison and giving ourselves permission to release the things we were never meant to carry forever.
If you've ever felt exhausted while still being grateful, overwhelmed while still being blessed, or behind while still making progress, I hope this conversation reminds you that two things can be true at the same time.
Most importantly, I hope it reminds you that rest is not weakness.
Sometimes letting go is how we finally move forward. 🧡
Thank you for an incredible Season 4.

In this nostalgic and insightful episode of Kultivation w/ Kevie: Stories, Nostalgia and Empowerment, I sit down with legendary animation writer, producer and creator Doug Langdale for an unforgettable conversation about some of the most beloved animated series of the late '90s and early 2000s.

Along the way, we explore his work on Earthworm Jim, Darkwing Duck, Maya and the Three, Samurai Rabbit and many other animation projects that helped shape generations of viewers.
Beyond the nostalgia, Doug shares valuable insight into the craft of storytelling, animation writing and creative growth. He discusses The Cartoon Writers Room with Doug and Candie, the animation writing classes he and Candie teach for aspiring writers, and why authentic storytelling begins with putting your own experiences and emotions into your work. Whether you're an animation fan, aspiring writer or creative professional, Doug's advice is packed with wisdom and encouragement.
We also discuss one of Doug and Candie's current projects, El Wapo vs. the Narco Vampires, an adult animated series currently seeking a path to production. Doug shares how the project came together, what makes it unique and why he's excited about where it could go next.
Whether you grew up spending your weekends with Tino and the gang, laughed at the absurdity of Dave the Barbarian, or simply love hearing from the creators behind your favorite childhood shows, this conversation is packed with nostalgia, creativity, storytelling and inspiration.

The Truth About Hypnotherapy, Anxiety, and Healing Trauma with Craig Meriwether | Next Level Voices Ep. 48 Bonus
Show notes
Welcome to Episode 48 of the Next Level Voices Series on Kultivation w/ Kevie!
In today's thought-provoking episode, I sit down with certified clinical hypnotherapist Craig Meriwether to unpack the truth about hypnotherapy, subconscious healing, anxiety, trauma, confidence, and the incredible power of the human mind.
Let’s be honest — when many of us hear the word “hypnosis,” our minds immediately go to stage acts, swinging watches, or cartoon moments from shows like "Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!". But Craig helps break down the myths and explains what hypnotherapy actually is: a tool that helps people access the subconscious mind in order to create healing, release emotional pain, and transform limiting beliefs.
Throughout this conversation, we explore how anxiety can become “programmed” into the nervous system, why the subconscious mind is constantly trying to protect us, and how fear, trauma, and self-doubt can quietly shape our lives without us even realizing it. Craig also explains why hypnotherapy isn’t mind control at all — and why true healing ultimately comes from within.
One of my favorite parts of this episode was hearing Craig explain how confidence can literally be practiced and mentally wired into the brain. Whether you struggle with anxiety, self-esteem, fear of public speaking, overthinking, or simply feeling stuck emotionally, this episode offers a fascinating and empowering perspective on personal transformation.
This conversation is reflective, eye-opening, educational, and honestly… pretty mind-blowing.

Who Makes Decisions for You If Something Happens? with Maddy Roche | Next Level Voices Ep. 44 Bonus
Show notes
Welcome to Episode 44 of the Next Level Voices Series on Kultivation w/ Kevie!
In this empowering episode of Kultivation w/ Kevie, I sit down with Maddy Roche to discuss a topic that many people avoid, but all of us should think about: who will make decisions for you if an emergency happens and you no longer can. As Chief Growth Officer of Partnerships for Childfree Trust, Maddy is helping childfree and permanently childless adults protect their wishes, their assets, and their dignity through intentional planning.
During our conversation, we unpack why estate planning is about much more than death. Maddy reframes it as continuity planning, contingency planning, and emergency planning—because life can change in an instant. We also discuss why third-party fiduciary support can sometimes be the most compassionate and practical option when emotional family dynamics are involved.
We also have an honest conversation about chosen family, LGBTQ+ realities, and how some people may not want biological relatives making sensitive decisions on their behalf. This episode shines a light on the importance of being proactive, protecting yourself legally, and making sure your voice is honored no matter what happens.
If you’ve ever thought “I’ll handle that later,” this conversation is your reminder that peace of mind starts with preparation. Whether you’re childfree, partnered, single, queer, or simply trying to be responsible, this episode offers practical insight that could truly matter one day.

In this insightful episode, I sit down with the incredible Lauren Mayhew for an honest and inspiring conversation about reinvention, identity, and building a multi-hyphenate career in the entertainment industry. From starting her career at just eight years old on PBS to becoming a member of the early-2000s girl group PYT, Lauren reflects on growing up in the spotlight and navigating the pressures that come with early success.
We explore her evolution beyond music, including her work in film and television, her time as a WWE ring announcer and performer, and how each chapter challenged her to continuously reinvent herself.
