Build a Triad From Another Scale Note
Season 1, Episode 13
Show notes
Last time, we built our first triad using C, E, and G. But what happens when we start on a different note of the scale?
In Lesson 012 of Learn Music Theory, we're taking the next step in understanding triads!
Starting with D in the C major scale, we'll use our familiar take-one, skip-one pattern to build D, F, and A. Then we'll explore G major and practice finding triads from another starting note.
You'll learn how to:
- Build a triad from a different scale note.
- Follow the take-one, skip-one pattern.
- Keep track of scale degrees without changing their original numbering.
- Practice finding triad notes on your own.
