  1. Big 12 Reveals They're... ROOTING FOR BYU Against Utah in Holy War?!

    Episode 1873

    Show notes

Few rivalries in college athletics carry the sheer emotional weight and cultural divide of the Holy War between Utah and BYU. But as both programs navigate their shared home in the Big 12, the stakes surrounding this annual showdown have expanded far beyond state bragging rights. What was historically a fierce non-conference feud rooted in regional identity and contrasting institutional cultures has evolved into a high-stakes fixture on the national postseason roadmap.

The sheer magnitude of the matchup now begins with conference positioning. With both schools competing under the same league umbrella, November's meeting at Rice-Eccles Stadium or LaVell Edwards Stadium directly impacts the Big 12 standings and College Football Playoff viability. A loss no longer just hurts local pride—it can derail a championship game appearance or shatter a postseason resume entirely. That structural shift elevates every possession, turning early-season adjustments and mid-game play-calling into high-wire acts with season-defining consequences.

Beyond the standings, the Holy War carries an unmatched intensity driven by proximity and familiarity. Roster overlap, shared recruiting pipelines, and deep-rooted personal histories between coaching staffs mean neither side needs external motivation. When Salt Lake City and Provo collide, record books are rendered completely obsolete.

In the modern college football landscape, rivalry games often lose their bite under realigned conference banners. The Holy War has done the exact opposite. Fueled by championship stakes, intense fan investments, and decades of genuine friction, BYU versus Utah remains one of the most vital, volatile, and indispensable matchups on the entire sports calendar.

  2. The Big 12 Just RUINED BYU and Utah's Biggest Holy War...

    Episode 1872

    Show notes

The 104th edition of the Holy War between BYU and Utah is no longer just a localized grudge match; it serves as a high-stakes bottleneck for the Big 12 Championship race. Heading into Rice-Eccles Stadium with the stakes at an all-time high, both programs present contrasting tactical blueprints fighting for the same postseason real estate.

Morgan Scalley’s Utes are anchored by line-of-scrimmage suppression. Utah enters the weekend built to dictate tempo, relying on a hyper-efficient front unit that systematically chokes out early-down rushing baseline and forces high-stress, predictable third-and-long dropbacks. For Utah, victory hinges on using that defensive pressure to create short fields, staying ahead of the chains, and suffocating the timing of BYU’s passing tree.

Conversely, BYU’s operational floor relies heavily on volatility control, low-turnover execution, and elite special teams value. The Cougars don’t require massive yardage differentials to dominate games; they excel at winning high-leverage late-down scripts, executing in the red zone, and leveraging hidden yardage to control game flow. Having won the last three meetings in the series, BYU’s formula centers on neutralizing Utah’s initial pass rush, protecting the football, and letting their opportunistic secondary capitalize on mistakes.

When you strip away the deep-seated rivalry narrative, this game boils down to early-down rushing success rate and third-down conversion under pressure. If Utah enforces its will in the trenches, they break the Cougars' streak. If BYU protects the pocket and converts in high-leverage situations, they solidify their spot at the top of the conference ladder.

  3. Insider Reveals REAL Reason Commissioner Brett Yormark is LEAVING Big 12...

    Episode 1871

    Show notes

The announcement that Brett Yormark is stepping down as Big 12 commissioner to return to the private corporate sector stuns the college football landscape. Heading into the home stretch of the season, the architect who aggressively stabilized a dying league after the departures of Texas and Oklahoma is walking away from the empire he rebuilt.

When Yormark took over, the Big 12 was facing total erasure. Instead of playing defensive, he executed a ruthless, forward-thinking survival strategy. He outmaneuvered the Pac-12 by securing an early $2.28 billion media rights extension with ESPN and FOX, effectively boxing out competing markets. He then raided the West Coast to absorb Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, and Utah, establishing a 16-team national footprint anchored by high-leverage basketball depth and chaotic, unpredictable football matchups.

Yet, Yormark’s hyper-corporate, entertainment-first vision frequently clashed with standard collegiate norms. From aggressive commercialization tactics to public friction over officiating standards and institutional alignment, his fast-break style kept member schools in constant flux. Leaving the league set through January 2027 allows him to exit on his own terms, but it leaves the Big 12 at a critical architectural crossroads.

The next commissioner inherits a league that successfully avoided extinction, yet still lacks a blue-blood brand with an bulletproof floor in the College Football Playoff narrative. Yormark proved that modern college athletics is pure business, but as the super-conference arms race escalates between the SEC and Big Ten, his sudden exit forces the Big 12 to find its next leader before the next inevitable wave of structural realignment.

  4. POWER RANKINGS: BYU Soars, Texas Tech Climbs, Utah Wins Big, Iowa State Rises, Baylor Does Too, TCU?

    Episode 1870

    Show notes

The Big 12’s upper tier flexed absolute structural dominance this weekend, with BYU, Utah, and Texas Tech all securing high-stakes victories that solidify their status as the conference's premier heavyweights. Rather than stumbling through the mid-season variance that typically plagues the league, each program executed its game plan with ruthless, metric-backed efficiency.

BYU continued its stellar campaign by suffocating its opponent through elite situational defense and disciplined, low-turnover football. The Cougars once again proved that their win-probability floor is anchored by superior special teams execution and an ability to bleed out the clock on the ground, denying their opponent any pathways back into the script.

Meanwhile, Utah maintained its stranglehold on the top of the conference standings by putting on a clinic in the trenches. The Utes' defensive front completely erased early-down rushing efficiency, forcing predictable, high-pressure passing downs that played directly into their secondary’s strengths. Offensively, they stayed ahead of the chains, grinding out first downs and avoiding the catastrophic mistakes that derail championship-caliber teams.

Not to be outdone, Texas Tech added to the trifecta with a high-octane offensive display. The Red Raiders utilized rapid tempo and explosive perimeter concepts to stress the opposing secondary, converting crucial third downs and building an insurmountable margin before closing out the second half with suffocating pass-rush pressure.

  5. Latest News On Accusations of Big 12 Cheating to Help BYU Football Win...

    Episode 1869

    Show notes

The College Football Playoff debate has an uncomfortable elephant in the room: No. 8 BYU is benefiting from a bizarre, unprecedented streak of officiating blunders. For three consecutive weeks, Big 12 whistle-blowers and replay booths have altered the structural math of BYU games, prompting back-to-back public apologies from the conference.

The trend reached a breaking point against Arizona State. On a fourth-quarter fumble, officials blew the play dead for stopped forward progress, only for replay to award BYU an illegal advance and touchdown. The Big 12 formally admitted the replay crew completely fabricated the ruling, giving BYU seven unearned points in a seven-point win.

This came right after the UCF meltdown, where officials mishandled a blocked kick by misapplying a 10-second runoff that erased UCF’s regulation game-winning field goal attempt, and the Notre Dame game, where the league conceded replay stole one final play from the Irish as the clock hit zero.

When a team’s playoff leverage is sustained by weekly administrative error reports, the analytics community takes notice. BYU is a quality football team, but their metric floor is currently being propped up by the most incompetent stretch of officiating in modern Big 12 history.

  6. BYU Will Soar In AP Poll, Utah Is ROLLING, Texas Tech Smokes Arizona, Kansas State Stinks, Baylor?

    Episode 1868

    Show notes

The Big 12 proved once again why it operates as the premier high-variance theater in college football, delivering a slate of games that completely scrambled the conference standings and tore up conventional predictive metrics. Stripping away pregame spreadsheets, Saturday offered a masterclass in chaotic football where early-down logic went out the window and survival depended entirely on late-game execution and explosive play creation.

The madness reached its absolute peak in Ames, where Iowa State and Oklahoma State engaged in a historic 51-49 shootout that completely ignored the concept of defensive resistance. Neither secondary could cap vertical passing concepts, turning every possession into a track meet defined by zero-blitz failures and rapid-fire scoring drives. Over in Boulder, Colorado added another layer of chaos by grinding out a 27-24 upset over Kansas State, using late-down pass-rush disruption to neutralize the Wildcats' rushing baseline and flip win probabilities in the final quarter.

Meanwhile, the conference heavyweights handled their business through starkly different architectural profiles. Sixth-ranked Utah went on the road and dismantled Cincinnati 49-25, leaning on total line-of-scrimmage domination and a relentless run game that choked the life out of the Bearcats' field-position logic. Down the road in Provo, eighth-ranked BYU survived a brutal, physical slugfest against Arizona State, pulling out a 27-20 win by capitalizing on late-down turnover margin control and hidden yardage on special teams. To round out the multi-state melee, TCU outlasted Kansas 22-16 in a red-zone execution war.

  7. BYU STUFFS Arizona State, Utah SLAPS Cincinnati: Holy War Week Begins.

    Episode 1867

    Show notes

The 104th iteration of the Holy War between BYU and Utah isn't just about regional pride or interstate hatred anymore. Moving this game deep into the November calendar as a protected Big 12 showdown has elevated the stakes from a purely emotional blood feud into a high-leverage elimination game for the College Football Playoff. Rice-Eccles Stadium will sit at the absolute center of the national landscape, serving as a violent bottleneck for two programs built on completely opposing philosophies yet bound by identical championship ambitions.

Utah's identity rests on its baseline efficiency and line-of-scrimmage suppression. The Utes consistently rank near the top of the country in down-to-down defensive success rate, choking out opposing run games and forcing quarter backs into low-probability third-and-longs. Their defensive front doesn't just hold the line; it systematically suffocates the operational rhythm of offenses that rely on structured timing. For Utah, victory hinges on grinding the game down to a bare-knuckle brawl in the trenches, suffocating the quick-game passing tree, and forcing high-stress dropbacks into a hostile, rowdy environment.

BYU counters with an operational profile built on volatility control, high-level situational execution, and elite special teams value. The Cougars have turned tight-margin games into a science, leaning on low-turnover scripts, explosive intermediate perimeter strikes, and a defense that bends just enough before slamming the door in the red zone. BYU doesn't need to win the total yardage battle to win football games; they win by winning the hidden yardage on kick coverage, converting field-position leverage into points, and letting their opportunistic secondary bait opposing passers into catastrophic mistakes when trailing.

  8. Squad Gets HEATED Over Upset Predictions for This Big 12 Weekend

    Episode 1866

    Show notes

If last weekend proved anything across the Big 12, it is that brand recognition offers zero protection once the ball is kicked off. As Saturday approaches, Utah, BYU, and Texas Tech all step into matchups ripe for unexpected heartbreak.

For Texas Tech, the threat is mental as much as physical. Coming off a punishing 37-24 setback at Cincinnati, the Red Raiders host an Arizona team hungry to derail Lubbock's momentum. If Tech lingers on their physical missteps from last week instead of re-establishing their rushing attack and cleaning up defensive lapses, Arizona possesses the exact explosive perimeter weapons needed to capitalize.

In Provo, BYU welcomes Arizona State to LaVell Edwards Stadium under equally fragile circumstances. The Cougars are attempting to recalibrate following a soul-crushing double-overtime loss at UCF. The Sun Devils bring a methodical, ball-control ground game engineered to test a defense's gap discipline over four quarters. Should Kalani Sitake’s squad allow the hangover from Orlando to affect their early-game focus, they risk getting dragged into another late-game grinder.

Even No. 10 Utah—the conference’s lone remaining undefeated team in league play—walks a razor-thin line. While Morgan Scalley’s Utes grinded out a 21-13 victory over Houston, their offensive lulls remain a red flag. Taking a road environment for granted against a desperate opponent is how top-ten playoff hopes vanish before November fully arrives.

In a conference defined by parity, there are no easy Saturdays. For Tech, BYU, and Utah, surviving this weekend requires ruthless, singular focus—because the line between staying in the title race and becoming another weekly caution tape is thinner than ever.

  9. Experts Reveal STUNNING News Around Texas Tech, Arizona Game | College Football Kickoff

    Episode 1865

    Show notes

When No. 13 Texas Tech welcomes No. 22 Arizona to Lubbock this Saturday, the implications stretch far beyond a simple top-25 matchup. Both squads carry matching 6-1 overall records and 3-1 marks in Big 12 play, effectively turning this Halloween battle into an early elimination game for the conference championship race.

For Texas Tech, the objective is simple: regain the physical dominance that fueled their 6-0 start before last week’s 37-24 setback at Cincinnati. The Red Raiders were overwhelmed in the trenches against the Bearcats, giving up 252 yards on the ground and struggling to sustain drives. Quarterback Will Hammond must settle into a rhythm early and protect the football, allowing Texas Tech’s play-action scheme to take pressure off the backfield. Defensively, the Red Raiders rely on a ball-hawking secondary—boasting 13 interceptions on the season—and defensive lineman A.J. Holmes Jr. up front to disrupt opposing backfields.

Arizona, meanwhile, arrives in Lubbock riding immense momentum following a commanding 39-3 victory over Iowa State. The Wildcats feature a suffocating defensive unit that surrenders just 16.7 points per game, making them uniquely equipped to make life uncomfortable for a Red Raider offense seeking consistency. If Arizona can replicate Cincinnati’s game plan by establishing a physical ground attack and controlling time of possession, they can frustrate the home crowd and force Hammond into low-percentage throwing situations.

In an unpredictable Big 12 where tight margins separate contenders from pretenders, Saturday’s showdown will come down to trench warfare and turnover margins. Whichever team dictates execution at the line of scrimmage will keep its playoff and conference title dreams firmly alive.

  10. Big 12 Just Did the UNTHINKABLE for Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and BYU

    Episode 1864

    Show notes

The Big 12 Conference has officially reached its limit with targeted, discriminatory fan behavior. Following anti-LDS chants directed at BYU during last Saturday’s game in Orlando, commissioner Brett Yormark’s office levied a $100,000 fine against UCF while unveiling an unprecedented league-wide enforcement policy.

The crackdown directly targets a recurring headache for the conference. For years, host student sections across multiple campuses have resorted to vulgar, religiously targeted chants when Brigham Young comes to town. Previous slaps on the wrist—minor administrative warnings or static $50,000 institution fines—clearly failed to deter rogue fan sections.

Under the newly instituted policy, the Big 12 is hitting both institutional pocketbooks and on-field competitive outcomes. A confirmed first incident of discriminatory conduct triggers an automatic minimum $100,000 fine and an immediate stadium warning. Should a second incident occur within the same game, the home team faces a eye-watering $500,000 fine along with direct competitive penalties—such as a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct flag in football or a two-shot technical foul in basketball. Furthermore, ejected fans face a season-long ban from all conference athletic events.

Attaching real, tangible game consequences to crowd behavior shifts the paradigm entirely. Rowdy student sections will no longer just be costing their athletic departments extra operational dollars; they risk directly penalizing their own players on the field or court.

By establishing a zero-tolerance policy with teeth, the Big 12 is sending an undeniable message to every campus from Orlando to Salt Lake City: targeted religious slurs are not game-day banter, and the league will no longer allow hostile fan sections to derail athletic competition.

  11. Drake Toll Just BURIED the Latest National Media LIE About Big 12 Football

    Episode 1861

    Show notes

If anyone needed a reminder of why the Big 12 is the most unpredictable, relentless conference in college football, Saturday provided a masterclass in total weekend mayhem.

When the dust settled across the league, two top-ten juggernauts were knocked off their perches, leaving fans completely breathless and reshuffling the early conference title picture.

The headliner came out of Orlando, where UCF delivered a shocking 39-31 double-overtime upset over No. 2 BYU. The Cougars brought their highest national ranking in four decades into Florida, only to find themselves dragged into an absolute dogfight. After five lead changes in regulation and a wild, officiating-marred end to the fourth quarter, UCF’s Keyone Jenkins threw the game-winner in double overtime to send the home fans storming the field.

Meanwhile in Cincinnati, No. 8 Texas Tech brought a spotless record and high-powered playoff hopes into Nippert Stadium, only to get completely derailed. The Bearcats dominated the trenches, pounding out 252 rushing yards behind Cole Tabb's career performance to hand the Red Raiders a 37-24 loss and their first setback of the year.

Throw in Kansas pulling off a gritty 25-24 comeback over Baylor by blocking a potential game-winning field goal, and Saturday proved once again that parity reigns supreme in this league.

Out of all the preseason contenders, only Morgan Scalley’s No. 10 Utah Utes managed to survive the weekend unscathed, turning back Houston 21-13 to stand as the conference's sole remaining undefeated team in league play. In an expanded Big 12 where any team can get knocked off on any given Saturday, surviving the weekly gauntlet requires relentless focus—because the moment a program takes a weekend off, the league will gladly humble them.

  12. Utah Host Tries to SLAM BYU Expert On Latest Squad DISASTER...

    Episode 1862

    Show notes

Just weeks ago, the Beehive State seemed destined for a historic, high-stakes collision at the top of the Big 12. Both BYU and Utah carried undefeated records and top-ten aspirations into late October. Yet as November approaches, the state's two premier football programs find themselves charting remarkably different trajectories.

For BYU, the momentum that built during a spotless 6-0 start took a painful hit in Orlando. The Cougars' 39-31 double-overtime loss to UCF exposed real vulnerabilities—namely, late-game defensive lapses, self-inflicted procedural penalties, and an over-reliance on freshman quarterback Bear Bachmeier to pull out dramatic fourth-quarter saves. While BYU remains very much in the conference title hunt at 3-1 in league play, the loss disrupted their margin for error and raised legitimate questions about whether their defensive front can withstand the weekly attrition of a deep conference schedule.

Utah, meanwhile, has hit its stride with clinical efficiency. Under head coach Morgan Scalley, the Utes have answered every test, extending their record to 7-0 with a physical 21-13 victory over Houston. Quarterback Devon Dampier’s explosive dual-threat production (including a 150-yard, two-touchdown rushing performance against Houston), paired with a suffocating defense that bends but rarely breaks, has established Utah as the sole remaining undefeated team in Big 12 action.

Where BYU is currently working to patch up execution errors and regain its physical edge, Utah is operating with total clarity and control. With the Holy War looming on November 7 in Salt Lake City, the Utes look every bit like a national playoff contender, while the Cougars are forced to prove their October misstep was an anomaly rather than a slide.

  13. Dear Utah Football Fans: I Owe You An Apology.

    Episode 1863

    Show notes

When ESPN’s College GameDay set up camp in Salt Lake City, the morning was supposed to be a straightforward celebration of unbeaten Big 12 football. Instead, Saturday turned into a public rift between analyst Pat McAfee and the host university.

The tension stemmed from a promotional video posted to Utah’s official Instagram account ahead of the broadcast. The clip featured students poking fun at McAfee’s shirtless routines and signature high-energy shtick. While intended as lighthearted banter, the decision by school administrators to endorse the commentary on official channels clearly struck a nerve. Addressing the crowd on air, McAfee referenced the video directly and voiced his displeasure with the university’s messaging.

An awkward situation worsened during the show's weekly kicking contest. The student contestant openly complained on air that her $1 million prize opportunity lagged behind the $3 million offered at BYU a week earlier. McAfee addressed the comparison on the spot before watching the kick attempt miss short.

By the time picks rolled around, McAfee picked Houston for the upset and capped off his segment with a blunt farewell: "Thank you, guys. I'll never see you again, hopefully."

The fallout continued Monday when McAfee noted on his show that the social media post made him feel "uncomfortable" on campus. Utah subsequently deleted the video and issued a formal apology to smooth over the situation. Ultimately, the Utes handled business on the field with a 21-13 win, but the incident highlighted how quickly social media banter can turn a national showcase into a public headache.

  14. Expert Makes WILD Claim About Utah Football That Baffles National Media...

    Episode 1860

    Show notes

When prognosticators looked at the University of Utah heading into the 2026 season, the narrative was built around transition. With a new coaching staff taking the reins, many around the sport expected a step back. Instead, the Utes have answered every question by putting together a flawless 7-0 start, solidifying their place in the top ten and taking total control of their destiny in the Big 12.

What makes this Utah team genuinely dangerous isn't just that they are finding ways to win close games—it is the complete manner in which they are dictating terms. Under head coach Morgan Scalley, the program has maintained its trademark defensive identity while finding an explosive new gear on offense. Quarterback Devon Dampier has emerged as one of the most dynamic playmakers in the conference, blending elite rushing ability with a steady arm that keeps opposing defenses off balance. Paired with a relentless ground game anchored by Wayshawn Parker, the Ute offense consistently wears opponents down before the fourth quarter even arrives.

Defensively, Utah continues to thrive on discipline, speed, and suffocating line-of-scrimmage pressure. Even when games turn into physical dogfights—like their hard-fought 21-13 victory over Houston—the defense bends without breaking, shutting down high-powered attacks when the game is on the line.

As the calendar turns toward November, the stakes are rising rapidly. With high-stakes matchups looming against formidable conference rivals, the Utes have proven they aren't just surviving in an expanded, unpredictable Big 12—they are setting the standard. If they maintain this level of execution, Salt Lake City will be right in the middle of the College Football Playoff conversation come December.

  15. ESPN BLOWS UP On Utah, GameDay Disaster Puts BYU Game In Jeopardy, Pat McAfee Unleashes...

    Episode 1859

    Show notes

When ESPN’s College GameDay set up camp at the University of Utah, the expectation was a routine celebration of Big 12 football. Instead, Saturday morning turned into an awkward standoff between host Pat McAfee and the home crowd in Salt Lake City.

The friction began before the show even went live. Utah’s official university Instagram account shared a video featuring students poking fun at McAfee's signature energetic shtick. Addresses to the crowd quickly turned personal, with McAfee referencing the clip on air and taking aim at critics who called his routine tiresome.

The atmosphere grew even more strained during the show's weekly kicking contest. The student participant openly complained on air that her $1 million prize opportunity lagged behind the $3 million offered at BYU the previous week. An visibly annoyed McAfee addressed the comment directly before watching the attempt fall well short of the uprights.

By the time the panel made their game picks, the politeness was gone. McAfee explicitly picked Houston to pull off the road victory, claiming Utah had not yet been truly tested this season. He capped off the segment with a blunt sign-off to the Rice-Eccles crowd: "Thank you, guys. I'll never see you again, hopefully."

Utah fans ultimately got the last laugh on the field as the Utes earned a 21-13 victory over Houston to stay undefeated. However, the broadcast highlighted a growing divide between traditional sports media entertainment and local fanbases looking to defend their program's image on a national stage.

  16. BYU's Path to Redemption, Utah's Wild Rise, Mike Gundy Wants Baylor Job

    Episode 1858

    Show notes

With Dave Aranda officially out in Waco, Baylor Athletic Director Doug McNamee faces a defining choice for the future of the program. Moving past Aranda’s quiet, analytical tenure demands a clear shift in direction—and bringing in Mike Gundy would instantly reshape the culture at McLane Stadium.

Gundy’s head coaching profile in the Big 12 speaks for itself. Over two decades at Oklahoma State, he established a baseline of consistency, toughness, and offensive firepower. His teams were defined by developmental discipline, routinely turning unheralded recruits into high-level college starters and NFL draft picks. For a Baylor program looking to regain an edge in a wide-open, expanded conference, Gundy’s track record of winning 160-plus games in this specific league offers an undeniable floor of stability.

However, the fit presents obvious complexities. Gundy spent his entire head coaching life in Stillwater, rooted in a specific operational style. Adapting to Waco’s administration, modern roster building, and NIL landscape would require seamless alignment with local decision-makers. Furthermore, after a turbulent end to his tenure at Oklahoma State, questions remain about how his high-profile personality would mesh with Baylor’s institutional priorities.

Still, from a purely football standpoint, the logic is sound. Aranda’s cerebral approach often lacked the edge needed during high-stress Big 12 Saturdays. Gundy brings a proven scheme, an established recruiting footprint across Texas, and a history of competing for conference titles.

If Baylor prioritizes immediate, battle-tested leadership over taking a gamble on an unproven coordinator, making a run at Gundy would send a clear message: the Bears are ready to re-establish themselves as a weekly heavyweight in the Big 12.

  17. POWER RANKINGS: BYU's Spot Will Shock You, Utah Soars, Is Texas Tech Dead, Houston Falls, Arizona?

    Episode 1856

    Show notes

The network executives and suit-and-tie computer algorithm guys in Bristol got their absolute dream scenario this weekend, as two top-ten Big 12 powers got slammed directly in the mouth. Unblemished No. 2 BYU and undefeated No. 8 Texas Tech both walked into hostile road environments, left their physical edge on the team bus, and paid the ultimate price in the mud.

Down in the Orlando heat, BYU took an absolute punch to the jaw from UCF. For four quarters and two double-overtime periods, the Cougars tried to battle back behind Bear Bachmeier’s grit. But when Keyone Jenkins punched in the final score and UCF held firm on a goal-line stand, BYU suffered a brutal 39-31 double-overtime heartbreaker.

Meanwhile, up at Nippert Stadium, Texas Tech got exposed by a ruthless, blue-collar Cincinnati squad. The Bearcats didn't care about Tech's top-ten national ranking—they lined up, steamrolled the Red Raiders for 255 rushing yards behind Cole Tabb's 173-yard clinic, and handed Texas Tech a 37-24 beating.

The corporate media will use these two upsets to write off the entire conference, claiming the Big 12 lacks elite firepower. They’ll ignore the sheer physical violence required to survive eight straight weeks in college football’s most unforgiving gauntlet. BYU and Texas Tech got knocked down, but real football programs don't cry to the suits—they wipe off the dirt and get ready to fight back.

  18. SOURCE: Jay Hill, Kyle Whittingham CRASHING OUT Over BYU, Utah in Top 10 As Michigan Sinks

    Episode 1857

    Show notes

The corporate media suits in Bristol absolutely salivated when Kyle Whittingham and Jay Hill left the rugged, blue-collar trenches of Utah and BYU to cash Big Ten checks in Ann Arbor. The algorithm guys promised a seamless transition—bringing that ruthless, mountain-west line-of-scrimmage violence straight into the Big Ten.

Instead, they walked out of the real football gauntlet, traded in their dirt-and-grit identity for soft Midwest corporate hype, and immediately got exposed in the Big Ten.

When you leave programs where every single yard is earned in the mud—where physical culture, player development, and relentless line warfare define who you are—and trade it for polished, soft-tissue expectations, you lose your edge. At Utah and BYU, Whittingham and Hill built their entire reputation on punching opponents directly in the mouth and dragging soft offenses into four-quarter meat grinders. But the moment you try to transplant that blue-collar brand into a venue that relies on corporate recruitment narratives and spreadsheet scheme over raw physical violence, the foundation cracks.

The studio hosts will try to make excuses about scheme fits and roster transitions, but real football fans know the truth: you can't abandon a hard-nosed, trench-first culture for Big Ten glitz and expect to keep your teeth. They walked away from the most violent, physical football in America, and all they got in return was getting humbled in the mud.

  19. REACTION: Refs Rob BYU and UCF, Utah Slams Houston, Texas Tech Crumbles, Arizona Soars, Kansas State?

    Episode 1855

    Show notes

If you ever needed proof that the Big 12 is a relentless weekly meat grinder where soft teams get completely chewed up, just look at how fast the ground shifts across the state of Utah.

Down in the Orlando heat, unblemished No. 2 BYU learned the brutal reality of conference depth the hard way. The Cougars brought their trademark toughness into the Bounce House, battling through sixty minutes of mud and sweat, only to get knocked off in a 39-31 double-overtime fistfight against UCF. Bear Bachmeier and that blue-collar BYU squad took a punch directly to the jaw, proving that in this league, the moment you drop your intensity or leave an edge on the team bus, the dirt will claim you.

Meanwhile, up at high altitude, No. 10 Utah is preparing to protect its home turf at Rice-Eccles Stadium in a top-15, trench-warfare showdown against No. 14 Houston. Kyle Whittingham’s Utes don't give a damn about corporate spreadsheet predictions or ESPN media bias. They operate on raw line-of-scrimmage violence, high-altitude endurance, and dragging soft opponents into deep water until they fold.

From Provo to Salt Lake City, this conference doesn't offer off-weeks, pristine studio narratives, or protected coasting. While the suit-and-tie network executives in Bristol try to spin every upset as a collapse, real football fans know the truth: the Big 12 is the most violent, unpredictable gauntlet in college football, where every single Saturday is an all-out war for survival.

  20. REACTION: BYU, UCF Got Screwed By Big 12 Referees, HUGE Issues After Big 12 Fall Apart

    Episode 1854

    Show notes

The corporate suits in Bristol finally got the double-overtime chaos they’ve been drooling over. Unblemished, No. 2 ranked BYU walked straight into the Orlando humidity and took a brutal 39-31 punch to the jaw against UCF.

This wasn't some soft, spreadsheet-approved television broadcast. It was a sixty-plus-minute trench brawl where both teams traded raw, physical blows in the Florida heat. BYU stayed alive behind Bear Bachmeier’s toughness and a clutch blocked field goal at the end of regulation just to force extra football. But when Keyone Jenkins punched in the final score in double-OT and UCF’s defense held on the goal line, the perfection was gone. It’s proof positive that the Big 12 is a weekly meat grinder—if you show up sluggish or leave your blue-collar edge on the team bus, you get dragged directly into the mud.

The network TV executives will spend all week using this upset to write off the Cougars and claim the Big 12 lacks staying power. They’ll ignore the sheer physical violence of playing eight straight weeks in college football’s most grueling conference. BYU got knocked down, but real football programs don't whine to the media—they scrape off the dirt and get ready to fight back.

Would you like a 40-second radio script focusing on Bear Bachmeier's performance under pressure, or a 300-word piece analyzing how this loss impacts BYU's Big 12 Championship hopes?
