Hey, I’m Michelle. An empty-nester, grandma, and Jesus lover. I know firsthand what it feels like to wrestle with self-doubt and the inner critic during midlife. It’s like being caught in a storm where your mind, body, and spirit are all in flux.
I tried every beauty trick in the book, hoping to feel better, but the mirror kept reflecting my fears: ’Am I still beautiful? Do I still have a purpose?’
Then one day, I had a breakthrough. If I’m created in the image of Christ, how could I ever see myself as anything less than worthy and beautiful? Those negative thoughts were lies, diminishing the incredible woman God designed me to be.
The truth is, our bodies and lives change, and so should our self-care routines. I’m here to help you embrace this new chapter with grace and confidence.
If you’re ready to find a simple, effective plan tailored for midlife women… If you want solutions that fit seamlessly into your life, bringing you more energy, helping you shed those extra pounds, lifting your mood, and improving your sleep – this podcast is for you!

108 | Why “Looking Your Age” Feels Like an Insult to Women Over 50
Episode 108
Show notes
Aging makes men look distinguished.
So why are women taught to hide our aging?
Gray hair, lines around the eyes, changing skin, a softer jawline, a body that doesn’t look exactly like it did twenty years ago... somewhere in the beauty conversation, those changes became problems women were expected to fix.
And eventually, we start repeating that message back to ourselves.
“I look so old.”
“My neck gives away my age.”
“I can’t wear that anymore.”
But what if we’ve been measuring aging well in the wrong place?
In this episode of Making Life Beautiful Again, we’re talking about the cultural double standard around aging, the way women learn to use “old” as an insult, and what it really means to care for the woman you are now.
Because aging well is bigger than whether someone thinks you look younger than your age.
Look at her life.
Is she still curious? Still participating? Still trying things? Still letting herself be seen? Still becoming?
That tells me far more about how a woman is aging than the number of lines around her eyes ever could.
In this episode, we talk about:
• why women are taught to experience visible aging differently than men
• the “old talk” many women repeat without even realizing it
• how appearance concerns can eventually affect participation and confidence
• what healthy aging and longevity mean beyond looking younger
• why strength, sleep, nutrition, posture, stress and skin all matter
• how face exercise can be part of caring for yourself without declaring war on aging
• why caring about your appearance does not automatically make you vain
• what stewardship can look like for a Christian woman in midlife
• how to stop using “old” as a diagnosis and get specific about what you actually want to care forYOUR NEXT STEP
If you want to care for the woman you are now but aren’t sure where to begin, take my free Beauty Assessment.
It will help you identify which area of your health and beauty may deserve your attention first.

Part of making life beautiful again is leaving room for God to do things in your life that you could never have orchestrated yourself.
Tracy has one of those stories, and she put the whole thing into a book.
If you’ve ever wondered whether God can still surprise you or write a chapter you never saw coming, you do not want to miss this conversation.

107 | When Your Life Doesn’t Look Like You Thought It Would
Episode 107
Show notes
Have you ever looked at someone else’s life and felt a reaction that seemed much bigger than the moment?
Maybe her marriage, family, career, body or new beginning stirred something in you that you immediately labeled jealousy or comparison.
But trying to shame yourself out of those feelings usually doesn’t get to the real issue.
Sometimes comparison is touching grief over the life you thought you would have by now.
In this episode, we’re talking about the losses in midlife that rarely get acknowledged, why comparison can reveal where something still hurts, and how grief can help you recognize what still matters deeply to you.
I’m also sharing a personal piece of my own story about realizing how far I had moved away from a dream I once believed would always be part of my life, and what happened when I finally allowed myself to grieve it with God.
This episode is for you if life looks different than you imagined and you’re trying to figure out how to honor what was lost without allowing it to decide what happens next.
You’ll walk away with a different question to ask when comparison hits:
What does this reveal that still matters to me?
And ultimately:
What do I want to do with the life I have now?
If this conversation brings something up for you, I created the Comparison Cleanse for exactly this kind of work. I pray over you each day as you go through it and help you begin bringing some of this pain to God instead of carrying it into every comparison.

106 | Makeup Over 50: 5 Habits That May Be Working Against You
Episode 106
Show notes
Have you ever put on your makeup exactly the way you always have, looked in the mirror a few hours later and thought, “Why does this suddenly look so different?”
Your foundation is finding every dry line. The smoky eye you used to love is smudging into the little creases around your eyes. Your eyeliner seems to be making your eyes look smaller instead of more defined.
The problem may not be your face.
A lot of us are still applying makeup using techniques we learned on a very different face, and those old habits don’t always give us the same result in midlife.
In this episode, I’m sharing 5 makeup habits worth rethinking after 50, including how much foundation and powder you really need, why your eyeliner placement matters, what moving your blush can do for the face, and how to add definition as our features naturally begin to soften.
We’ll also talk about why I am NOT interested in giving you another list of things women over 50 are no longer “allowed” to wear.
Wear the shimmer. Wear the lipstick. Have fun with your makeup.
This episode is for you if makeup has started feeling frustrating, heavier, or simply a little “off” and you want to learn how to work with the woman you are now.
In this episode:
- Why more foundation can actually call more attention to texture
- Where powder can help and where it may be making dryness more obvious
- How full-wrap eyeliner can visually make the eye look smaller
- Simple eyeliner and eyeshadow placement changes I use on my own eyes
- Why blush placement can change the direction your eye follows
- What my nanny taught me about trying to recreate definition as our features soften
- Why changes in your face don’t mean makeup no longer looks good on youMost importantly, remember: you are not signing a lifelong contract with your makeup.
Move the blush. Try less powder. Change the eyeliner. Play with it. It washes off.Ready to figure out where to start with your own beauty routine?

105 | Beauty Is a Microphone: Cheryl on Pageantry, Purpose & Femininity
Episode 105
Show notes
What if beauty was never supposed to be the whole message?
My sister Cheryl spent most of her early life as a tomboy. Then she entered a pageant, expecting to lose, and eventually became Mrs. Tennessee.
What surprised both of us was how much that season taught her about far more than hair, makeup, dresses, and crowns.
In this episode, we're talking about beauty as a platform for purpose, rediscovering parts of your femininity you may have ignored, and what happens when another woman's beauty stops feeling like competition.
Cheryl also shares one of my favorite ideas from the conversation: beauty and pageantry can be a “microphone” for what is already inside you.
You'll hear us talk about:
• what made Cheryl enter pageantry in the first place
• how it changed the way she experienced her femininity
• why she wasn't intimidated competing beside 51 other women
• the stereotypes we both once believed about pageant women
• what Cheryl calls “fractured femininity”
• how she intentionally stays connected to her feminine side today
• what she hopes women take away from Crowned in BeautyThis was originally part of my book launch celebration, so you're also getting a very real sister-to-sister conversation, including a few stories I could never tell quite the same way without her sitting beside me.
If this conversation makes you want to go deeper into the ideas Cheryl and I are discussing, read Crowned in Beauty

104 | Finding Your Style and Confidence After 50 with Sherrie Fisher
Episode 104
Show notes
Podcast Show Notes
Have you ever looked at a closet full of clothes and thought, “Why do I have nothing to wear?”
Sometimes the problem isn’t that we need more clothes. We’ve simply stopped seeing what we already own with fresh eyes, or we’ve gotten so used to dressing “safe” that we’ve forgotten what actually feels like us.
In this episode, I’m joined by my friend Sherrie Fisher, Certified Master Life Coach, host of the Soul Journey Podcast, and the woman behind the wonderfully fun “What the Walmart?” fashion videos.
We’re talking fashion after 50, but this conversation quickly turns into something bigger: courage, confidence, color, self-expression, and giving yourself permission to experiment again.
You’ll hear us talk about:
• stretching summer pieces into fall with simple layering
• an easy way to start mixing patterns
• using accessories to make basic outfits feel intentional
• experimenting with colors outside the “rules”
• why courage often comes before confidence
• noticing the styles you admire in other women as clues to what may be calling you
• the connection between taking care of yourself and remembering that you matterI also share the story of the green leopard-print dress that made me realize I wanted to be seen more than I had been willing to admit.
And stay through the end because Sherrie leads us through a beautiful breath prayer around comparison, confidence, and showing up as the woman God created you to be.

103 | Can Christian Women Love Beauty Without Becoming Vain?
Episode 103
Show notes
Have you ever loved a beautiful dress, enjoyed doing your makeup, cared about your skin, or simply wanted to feel beautiful... and then wondered what someone else might think about you for caring?
For Christian women, beauty can get complicated fast.
The world gives us one definition of beauty. Scripture gives us a much deeper one. And somewhere in between, many of us have picked up ideas about vanity, modesty, appearance, and what a “godly woman” is supposed to look like.
In this episode, we’re opening Chapter 4 of Crowned in Beauty: The Lie That Beauty Is Vanity and drawing a clearer line between beauty and vanity.
I’m sharing the pageant story that challenged some of my own assumptions about beauty, how I realized I had been judging what was happening in someone’s heart by what I could see on the outside, and why Esther’s story made me rethink beauty as part of preparation rather than something automatically shallow.
We’ll also look at why Esther’s beauty opened a door, while her character and favor helped her carry what came next.
This episode is for the Christian woman who loves beauty but does not want beauty to define her, and who wants to enjoy skincare, fashion, makeup, and feeling beautiful without constantly wondering whether someone else will misunderstand her.
By the end, I hope you’ll have a better question to ask than, “Does this look vain?”
Instead:
What place is beauty holding in my life?
That is where discernment begins.

102 | The Beauty Rules You’re Still Living By
Episode 102
Show notes
Have you ever caught yourself saying, “I’m just low-maintenance,” “I don’t like attention,” or “I’m more comfortable behind the scenes”? What if those statements didn’t begin as personality at all? What if they started as protection? A comment about your body. A moment of embarrassment. A relationship where being noticed felt unsafe. A message about modesty or vanity that landed harder than anyone realized. Those moments do more than hurt. They teach. And when those lessons go unquestioned long enough, they start shaping the way you dress, receive compliments, use your voice, and decide whether it feels safe to be seen. In this episode of Making Life Beautiful Again, we continue our Crowned in Beauty book tasting by opening Chapters 2 and 3 and talking about what happens when the wound becomes the teacher. We’ll look at how protection can start looking like personality, why hiding can continue long after the original season has passed, and how Christian women can begin attaching spiritual language to behaviors that are actually rooted in fear. We’ll also look at Esther’s own season of hiding and why her story gives us an important distinction: hiding can have a purpose, but it was never meant to become an identity. This episode is for the woman who has started wondering whether the quieter, more careful version of herself is really who she is or simply who she learned to become. Scriptures Mentioned Esther 2:10

In this episode, you’ll hear:
• why looking at your younger self can stir up more than nostalgia
• what we may really mean when we say, “I don’t feel like myself anymore”
• why feeling like yourself again doesn’t mean becoming your younger self again
• what Hadassah, before she became Queen Esther, can teach us about identity and becoming
• one simple question that can help you reconnect with the parts of yourself that still belong in this seasonHere’s the question I want you to carry with you: What did you know about yourself before you learned to question it? 100 | What Are You Tuning Into? Frequencies, Stress + Your Face After 40
Episode 100
Show notes
Hello beautiful!
Have you ever noticed how one conversation can leave you feeling peaceful while another has your jaw clenched and your shoulders up around your ears?
Or how a certain song, scent, room, person, or even the thoughts running through your own mind can completely change how you feel?
In this episode, we’re talking about everyday frequencies and the inputs your mind, body, and spirit are responding to all day long.
And yes, we’re going to talk about David and Saul.
Long before we had words like emotional regulation, Scripture gives us this fascinating picture of David playing his harp and Saul experiencing relief. It raises an interesting question: What are we tuning into, and how might it be affecting the way we feel and even the way we carry our face and body?
We’ll talk about:
• What I mean when I use the word “frequency”
• The surprising ways frequency and sensory input show up in everyday life
• How sound, words, people, color, scent, thoughts, and our surroundings can affect us
• Why stress and emotional tension often show up in the jaw, brow, breathing, posture, and facial expression
• The David and Saul story and what music can teach us about the way we respond to our environment
• Why the most important question may be less about what you need to tune out and more about Who you are tuning into firstBecause you can spend all day trying to control every input around you, or you can build your day on a stronger foundation.
For me, that foundation is Papa God.
Psalm 3:3 calls Him the One who lifts my head, and that has become an important part of how I think about beauty, face exercise, emotional regulation, and the way we care for ourselves as Christian women.
Ready to practice this with me?
I’ve brought these ideas together in my 12-Minute Non-Surgical Facelift for Women Over 40, combining face exercise with Scripture, intentional thought, breathing, emotional regulation, and supportive sensory inputs.
It’s designed for the woman who wants to care for her face and spend intentional time with God without adding another long routine to an already-full day.
You can purchase the course and continue practicing with me inside the membership for $12/month.
https://makinglifebeautifulagain.com/12-minute-facelift-690560
Because before we worry about lifting everything we see in the mirror, we can tune into the One who lifts our heads.

Episode 99
Show notes
Hello beautiful!
Noticing jowls, a softer jawline, turkey neck, or more tension around your mouth and neck? Before adding another face exercise, jaw exerciser, or “mewing” technique, there may be something much simpler you need to look at first: posture.
In this episode, Michelle shares the jawline mistakes she made when she first noticed her own neck changing, including the jaw-strengthening gadget that actually left her hurting. You’ll discover how body posture, tongue position, jaw clenching, sleep posture, and everyday tension may influence how your lower face looks and feels, plus why Michelle always works on posture before face exercise.
You’ll also learn one simple way to start noticing your own tension patterns today, especially if you’ve been concerned about jowls, facial asymmetry, TMJ symptoms, a sagging jawline, or neck changes in midlife.

97 | Summer Skincare S.O.S. for Women Over 40
Episode 97
Show notes
Hello beautiful!
Does your skin feel sweaty and oily outside, then dry and tight the minute you step into air-conditioning?
Summer can make your skin feel like it has no idea what it wants. Add sun, wind, chlorine, extra sweating, and the temptation to wash your face every five minutes, and suddenly your usual summer skincare routine is not working the way it did a few months ago.
I know how frustrating that can be, especially when your skin is breaking out and feeling irritated at the same time.
In this episode, I’m sharing my simple Summer Skin S.O.S. framework to help you figure out what your skin is actually responding to before you start adding more products.
We’ll talk about the mixed signals mature skin can send in the summer, the habits that can quietly make dryness and irritation worse, and how to simplify your morning and evening routine so your skin can settle down.
And I’m saving one of my favorite practical tips for the end: how I handle sweaty summer skin without washing my face every thirty minutes.
You can also grab the Summer Skin S.O.S. worksheet inside the Making Life Beautiful Again Facebook group. It will help you decide what to continue, reduce, pause, or simplify this week.

96 | Forgiveness How God Turns Your Scars Into Gold
Episode 96
Show notes
Hello beautiful!
Have you ever thought you had forgiven someone, only to feel the hurt rush back when something touched that old wound?
Forgiveness is rarely a one-time event. Sometimes we forgive what happened, then later realize we are still carrying the criticism, rejection, lost years, or painful beliefs the experience left behind.
In this episode, we are talking about how to forgive someone who hurt you, recognize when an old wound is affecting your emotions today, and stop allowing another person’s actions to shape your identity.
You may have hated the lesson, but you might be surprised by the woman God has been forming through it.
Sometimes our breakthrough toward the beautiful life we want to live comes through the breaking. When we allow the Lord to heal those places, we can emerge stronger, wiser, and more certain of who we are.
Go Deeper
The Turning Scars Into Gold forgiveness and healing worksheet is available inside the Making Life Beautiful Again Facebook group. It will help you identify what you are still carrying, uncover the identity attached to the wound, and replace it with what God says is true.

95 | Can Stress Ruin Your Skincare Results?
Episode 95
Show notes
Hello beautiful!
Have you been using good skincare products but still feel like your face looks dull, tired, or pulled downward?
Your routine may not be the only thing affecting what you see in the mirror. Stress can change the way you breathe, tighten your jaw, affect your skin barrier, and create facial tension that skincare alone cannot release.
In this episode, Michelle explains the mind-skin connection and how stress and emotions can influence your skin, facial muscles, neck, posture, and overall appearance. You will also learn one simple breathing practice to help interrupt the stress pattern and give your face and body a different message.
This episode is for the woman who has been caring for her skin but still feels like stress is written all over her face. You will walk away understanding what may be pulling your face downward and how releasing tension can become an important part of your beauty routine.
Michelle also shares a sneak peek of her new 12-minute facelift using frequencies, breathwork, thought work, and face exercise.

93 | Feeling Behind in Life? A Midyear Reset for the Woman You’re Becoming
Episode 93
Show notes
Hello Beautiful!
Have you looked up and thought, “How is this year already halfway over?”
Maybe you had goals in January that felt exciting, clear, and possible. You were going to take better care of your body, finally start the thing, finish the thing, show up with more confidence, or stop putting off the dream that keeps tugging at you.
But now life has taken a different pace than you expected, and those goals feel blurry.
In this episode, we are doing a different kind of midyear reset. Not the usual checklist, planner page, or “get your life together” pep talk.
This conversation is for the midlife woman who feels a little behind, a little disappointed, or unsure what still matters for the rest of the year.
You’ll learn how to look at your goals from the end in mind, ask what still belongs in this season, and reconnect with the woman you are becoming. I’ll also share how the story of Thomas inspired this reset and why sometimes a visual reminder can help us take the next faithful step.
And if you want to create your own FUTURE YOU magazine cover, I’m sharing the exact AI prompt inside my free Facebook group so you can make yours and let us cheer you on.

92 | What Does God Say About Beauty? Why Christian Women Need to Stop Calling It Vanity
Episode 92
Show notes
Hello Beautiful!
Have you ever wondered if caring about beauty makes you vain?
A lot of Christian women were taught plenty about modesty, but very little about how to steward beauty in a healthy, biblical way. So we end up with a complicated relationship with the mirror. We want to look nice, but worry someone will judge us. We want to feel confident, but wonder if confidence will be misunderstood as pride.
In this episode, we’re asking a question many women quietly carry: What does God actually say about beauty?
This conversation is for the woman who has deflected compliments, avoided pictures, judged herself harshly in the mirror, or felt guilty for wanting to feel beautiful again. If you have ever wondered whether beauty belongs in the life of a woman who loves God, this episode will help you see beauty through a more biblical, grace-filled lens.
We’ll talk about why beauty is not the same thing as vanity, how God created beauty, how good things can become twisted, and why your beauty was meant to shine rather than perform.
And if this episode makes you think of another woman, share it with her. Let this episode be an invitation for both of you to stop arguing with what God made.
Next week, we’re doing a Q3 Refresh and talking about simple strategies for living your beautiful life in the second half of 2026 with more intention, courage and joy.

91 | Stuck in Survival Mode? How God Uses Stillness to Heal You | Stacy Jagger
Episode 91
Show notes
Hello Beautiful!
Have you ever finally gotten a few minutes to yourself, only to realize you do not know what to do with the quiet?
You thought you would pray. Take a walk. Read. Work on the project. Follow through on the thing God has been nudging you toward.
But then you pick up your phone to check one thing, and before you know it, the day has moved on and the thing you really wanted to do is still sitting there.
In this episode of Making Life Beautiful Again, Michelle Rose sits down with Stacy Jagger, author of 30 Day Blackout, to talk about burnout, screen time, emotional regulation, and what it looks like to become present again in midlife.
This conversation is especially meaningful because Stacy was Michelle’s counselor during one of the hardest seasons of her life, when she was on the cusp of empty nest and learning how to find beauty in the ashes. God used Stacy’s work in a powerful way during Michelle’s healing journey, and now this conversation opens the door for other Christian midlife women who are navigating burnout, distraction, transition, and the question, “What now, Lord?”
Although 30 Day Blackout was written for families, the principles inside the book speak to women too, especially those who have spent years caring for everyone else and now find themselves craving quiet but struggling to settle into it.
If you are a Christian woman over 40 who feels distracted, overstimulated, or unsure how to step into your next season with peace and purpose, this episode will help you begin paying attention to what the noise may be costing you and how God may be inviting you back into presence.
XO,
Michelle
