Marvel Versus Marvel

This week we go behind-the-scenes on the making of a Spider-Man movie that nobody saw - Kraven The Hunter! We’ll explore Sam Raimi’s plans to include Kraven in the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man franchise, AND Ryan Coogler’s plans to make Kraven part of the Black Panther MCU movies! We’ll also get to the bottom of why the MCU never crossed over with Sony’s Spider-Man Cinematic Universe, and why Tom Holland never showed up in Venom, Morbius, Madame Web, or Kraven! We’ll dig into the movie’s terrible reviews and disastrous box office returns, and what happened to FINALLY cause Sony to pull the plug on making these Spider-Man movie WITHOUT any Spider-Man!

This Halloween season we dig up the obscure 80s anime movie based on Marvel’s Dracula - Sovereign Of The Damned! An adaptation of the “Tomb Of Dracula” comics from the Seventies, this movie is Marvel's first-ever animated film, and yet it has been consigned to the amnesia section of movie history - well not anymore! In this Halloween edition of MVM we’ll take you behind-the-scenes on Marvel’s attempt to crack the Japanese market with anime and fighting robots, and explore the unique partnership between Marvel Comics and Japan's Toei Company! We’ll dig-up-the-dirt on Marvel’s first-EVER animated movie, and how it was part of a complex money laundering scheme by disgraced Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi! Then we’ll take you behind-the-page on the history of "The Tomb Of Dracula" comics, and how Marvel went from BANNING ALL VAMPIRES to making Count Dracula one of their biggest stars of the 70s! Then we’ll pull apart the anime scene-by-scene, bring you TONS of Marvel history and trivia about Dracula, Quincy Harker, Rachel Helsing, Frank Drake, the weird story of the Golden Angel, and Satan himself! Plus we trawl through the career histories of the American voice cast for this dubbed version of the movie and unearth all of their Marvel Connections!

For the first time ever we take a deep dive into a historic milestone in the history of Marvel Comics, the first appearance of Wolverine in 1974! We explore the huge power and influence of Wolverine as a multi-media character, his huge popularity from the movies to TV shows, from video games, toys and merchandise, to his comic book sales! Then we’ll take you through the controversial history of WHO CREATED WOLVERINE! We’ll not only pin down exactly WHO created WHAT aspects of Logan, but we’ll dig up the hidden history, the original sketches, the stolen ideas, the lawsuits, the money at stake, and what caused a grieving widow to say “seeing his name as co-creator makes me sick to my stomach!”

And then, instead of taking a deep dive into a movie or TV show, we take a deep dive into a comic book! We’ll explore Wolverine’s earliest appearances in the pages of The Incredible Hulk in 1974! The costume and the claws, the powers and the personality - we’ll examine just how much of the Wolverine WE KNOW is there at the very beginning!
