Scream #101
Season 4, Episode 10
Show notes
Don't forget to lock all of your doors, and since you live in a resort, there are so many doors to check, so be careful. Happy Halloween, everyone! This show is produced in Santa Rosa and we always love researching our favorite locally made films, and 1996's Scream is legendary in that rite. Ask anyone here who lived through the production and they will have a story to tell. Scream itself is truly a catalyst for the meta-horror films that have followed ever since the mid 90s. So get your wonderfully antiquated method for making popcorn ready and enjoy the show!
This Movie's Cocktail: I’ll Be Right Back
1.5oz Charbay R5 whiskey
.5oz curaçao
.5oz Fig Brandy
.5oz lemon
shake everything with frozen water and strain into a chilled coupe. Sip as you argue with Randy about who the greatest scream queen is

Pulp Fiction #100
Season 4, Episode 9
Show notes
We made it to 100 episodes! Through good movies and bad, through the traumatic destruction of our childhoods and our heroes falling from their pedestals like autumn leaves, we made it. And we still love movies.
Pulp Fiction is one of those films we have had high on a pedestal for so long that we stopped watching it regularly for fear of wearing it out. But how will it stand up to the discerning eyes of professional Nostalgia Killers? Will we fawn over the lengthy conversations about hamburgers and the sanitary nature of pigs and dogs? Or will the urge to pick it apart without mercy creep into our trigger fingers? Has anyone checked to see if the safety is on? (Seriously: don't take your firearm habits from this movie.)
I guess you'll just have to watch and listen. This episode is arranged in random order for your confusion and in a weak attempt to ape a format made popular by this film. Just stay our of Russel's old room.
This Movie's Cocktails:
Vincent Vega
4oz Cola
1.5 Charbay Espresso Cocktail
Splash of cream
Combine over frozen water as you get up the nerves to dance with Mia Wallace
Jules Winfield
1oz Pineapple
1oz Coconut
1.5 oz Charbay Meyer lemon vodka
.5oz Lime
Shake and strain over fresh frozen water as you prepare to walk the earth

The Mask #099
Season 4, Episode 8
Show notes
Nobody talks about Richard Jeni any more. Once a reliable sidekick character actor, now relegated to faded memories. This week we take a deep dive into one of his most successful movies where he actually had lines and screen time with the main characters, in 1994's The Mask. Also, I believe that in this entire podcast we fail to mention Richard Jeni a single time. Here's to you, Richard.
This Movie's Cocktail: Coco Bongo Cooler
1.5 Charbay Green Tea Vodka
1 Watermelon Juice
.5 Lime
Sprig of mint
Shake and serve over frozen water and sip as you turn into a horny cartoon wolf watching Tina Carlyle preform

Dazed and Confused #098
Season 4, Episode 7
Show notes
Finish sanding your custom paddles and grab a beer from any car because it's the last day of school and it's time to go whoop some memories of a movie that takes place in a time period in which none of us lived, in 1993's Dazed and Confused.

This Movie's Cocktail: Wet Wooderson
3oz of a Peach Mint Shrub (champagne vinegar, puréed peaches, mint and brown sugar)
Soda Water/Beer
1.5 Charbay R5 Whiskey
Mix up the shrub and soda over frozen water. You don’t have to add any whiskey; but it’d be a lot cooler if you did

To Wong Foo #096
Season 4, Episode 5
Show notes
Braving another movie cocktail possibly laced with fruit that she's allergic to, Magalli Larque joins us once again for one of her all-time favorite movies, To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar. Loosely disguised as a modern western, our three heroines must take refuge in a small middle American town where they might ruffle some boa feathers, but ultimately bring justice, peace, and a whole lotta color and love to the townsfolk who seem to have been left behind by the rest of the world. So hop in, betches, we're going to...Snydersville?
This Movie's Cocktail: Red and Wild
1.5oz Charbay Vodka
.75oz grapefruit juice
.75oz lychee liquor
1oz strawberry puree

12 Monkeys #095
Season 4, Episode 4
Show notes
This week we delve into Bryan's formative years and watch a film that was on heavy repeat. Despite both of us still liking this movie, close inspection reveals a devastating truth linked to its production and the man twisting the steering reigns, Terry Gilliam, in his first director-for-hire project. Strap yourself in and get ready to dose yourself with whatever may be at hand as we rewatch 12 Monkeys. And gratuitous Brice Willis scrub-downs. And butts. So many butt shots...
This Movie's Cocktail: The Gilliam
2 oz Vodka
2 oz Dark Rum
4 oz Pineapple Juice
4 oz Orange Juice
Garnish a small fishbowl with every fruit rind and swizzle straw in your kitchen and fill with ice.
Pour ingredients over ice while reciting any Monty Python sketch.
Avoid being crushed by large paper cutouts of feet coming down from above.
Sonic Death Monkey Top 5: Top 5 movies we'd go back in time to stop from happening.

Face Off #094
Season 4, Episode 3
Show notes
We haven't laughed this hard in a long time. Two actors in the prime of their careers dive head first into a ridiculous premise that is not quite science fiction and not quite horror, but is effing action from the first frame to the last, in 1995's Face Off.
This Movie's Cocktail: I could drink a peach for hours
.75oz bourbon
.75oz brandy
1oz grilled peach syrup
.75oz lemon
Dash of vanilla
Pinch of cocoa
Shake all the ingredients and serve over crushed frozen water, sip as you get your vocal chip aligned

Join us on our over-sized river boat as we enter the Amazon in search of, well, we sorta lose track of what we're looking for with all of the crazy sh*t John Voight does in 1997's Anaconda.
This Movie's Cocktail: Monkey Blood
2oz Rum
0.5oz banana liqueur
0.25oz hibiscus syrup
0.75 Lime
Combine and shake, strain into a chilled glass; then promptly douse j lo and ice cube in said mixture to attract a giant snake

The Princess Bride #092
Season 4, Episode 1
Show notes
Maura Quint joins us again for a classic movie that we've all seen a thousand times, partly to celebrate Valentine's Day, partly to honor Rob Reiner, but mostly because we just love The Princess Bride. And for this episode's Sonic Death Monkey, we list our top 5 movies we'd like Peter Faulk to read to us when we were sick in bed. And remember: Andre the Giant says that people in masks cannot be trusted!
This Movie's Cocktail: Imbibe the Inconceivable
Optional 2oz Tapatio Blanco tequila
0.75 oz Grapefruit Juice
0.5 oz Lime Juice
1oz Strawberry Syrup
Shake all of the ingredients with frozen water, and strain into a goblet of your choice. But before we drink you must know that one of these glasses contains an addition of habanero peppers. Choose wisely, the battle of wits is afoot!

Four Rooms #091

The Epilogue for this episode is FREE and we use it to wrap up our top 5 movies we watched this year and many more drunken rantings. Available on our Patreon and YouTube channel. http://nostalgiakillers.com/

Grosse Pointe Blank #088
Season 3, Episode 16
Show notes
Welcome back, Pointers! We're joined by comedy writer Maura Quint for a kind of hat-on-a-hat stacking of nostalgia to talk about 1997's Grosse Pointe Blank. Already moderately successful during its time, it has become an even stronger cult classic, and for good reason: it seems to be a nearly perfect movie. It's truly difficult to find any faults, so we simply just enjoyed watching this movie again.
This Movie's Cocktail: Drawing a Blank
Collins glass 1
.5 oz EverClear
0.5 oz Lime Juice
10 oz Lime Gatorade
In a shaker with ice, mix ingredients gently, pour into a Collins glass. With any luck, the mixer makes the Everclear passable as you wipe away your fond memories of your childhood.

Scrooged #090
Season 3, Episode 18
Show notes
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone! It's not too late... to finally edit and publish the Christmas podcast. Unavoidable during the holiday season, 1988's Scrooged is a TV staple to this day, rivaled in air time only by A Christmas Story. With a wonderfully talented cast and amazing practical effects, we mull over why this just doesn't put us in the Christmas spirit any more.
Be sure to check out the Epilogue on our Patreon where we discuss newer movies and films we've recently watched. NostalgiaKillers.com takes you there!
This Movie's Cocktail: Lumpy’s Libation
1 oz Chai Syrup
Dash of vanilla extract
0.5 oz Lemon Juice
Soda
1.5 oz Charbay Meyer Lemon Vodka
Combine the ingredients in a glass of frozen water (fuck ice) and top with soda water. Throw a few back as do everything in your power to not learn the meaning of Christmas

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles #089
Season 3, Episode 17
Show notes
Just in time for seasonal relevance we embark on the journey of probably the most Thanksgiving movie ever made, 1987's Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. This beloved classic is so entwined in our memories that they kinda blur into each other at times, and upon closer watching there are several plot points that seem to crop up out of nowhere... as if there were large swaths of this film that we've never seen and will never see... Whelp, that's my ellipses quota for this year. Enjoy, and happy holidays from the NK crew!

Sneakers #086
Season 3, Episode 14
Show notes
We send off one of the greats in this episode, and despite his rather extensive movie catalog, we chose a film perhaps not well known by most: 1992's Sneakers. Using the backdrop of San Francisco and the Bay Area, Robert Redford's high-rent A-Team trapses through ducts and bypasses security systems to retrieve a serious piece of hardware. Full of action and comedy and bad running, Sneakers delivers the goods that would go on to inspire Mission Impossible and Ocean's movies.
Goodbye, Robert Redford. (be bored forgery odd rot)
This movie's cocktail: Cosmo’s Cosmo (aka Pizza-tini)
2oz Parmesan and pepperoni infused vodka
4oz Tomato juice
A pinch of Basil, oregano and garlic powder
Mix the tomato juice with the herbs and spices and separately combine the vodka with a slice of pepperoni and an once of Parmesan cheese. Let both mixtures infuse overnight; be sure to filter out any particles.
Once both mixtures are ready; combine them in a shaker tin with ice; remembering that Cosmo likes his pepperoni pizza shaken not stirred.

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade #085
Season 3, Episode 13
Show notes
Arguably the pinnacle of the Indiana Jones series of films, in this episode we revisit The Last Crusade (and one of us for the first time) as Indy tracks down his kidnapped Sean Connery and is forced to join him on his quest of the holy grail. From the golden era of film making, paying homage to the previous golden era of film making, Spielberg keeps the magic and mysticism flowing even after all these years.
This Movie's Cocktail: Cup of Kings
2oz Nectarine infused Charbay Vodka
.5oz Lemon Juice
.5oz Simple Syrup
Tonic
Handful of fresh fruit
Combine everything in a pint glass and top with tonic water. Sip as you ruminate over the fact that you’ve slept with the same nazi as your father.

The Ring #087
Season 3, Episode 15
Show notes
Can a movie have eyes bigger than its stomach? This episode we tackle The Ring, and our haunting memories that have grown long shadows with age. Once placed on a horror pedestal and marketed to within an inch of its life, this film might not see all of us through. I don't know, though: if I handed you a VHS tape and told you it was cursed, what would race through your mind, other than where the hell am I going to find a working VCR in 2025? Would you watch it?
This movie's cocktail: She Never Sleeps
1.5oz Charbay Espresso Martini Liqueur
0.5oz Amaro
Angostura Bitters

Shake all ingredients together with ice. Once chilled strain and re-shake without ice. Serve in a chilled glass and sip as you savor your final 7 days

But I'm a Cheerleader #083
Season 3, Episode 11
Show notes
Just in time for Pride Month! Er... why wait for June to celebrate? Julia Kaplan joins us once again for this wonderful time capsule of independent film, But I'm a Cheerleader.
Writer/Director Jamie Babbit's ambitious film about a cheerleader sent to gay conversion camp lands several jabs and jokes aimed at common stereotypes and misled perceptions of, well, let's face it: squares. Beloved by many and appropriately placed on a pedestal, listen in to see what Javier thinks after seeing it for the first time. And if anyone knows where to get one of those electro-toy-thingies, leave us a clue in the comments.
This movie's COCKtail: Rocks Refresher
