Organized On Purpose | Declutter, Christian Home Organization, Faith-Based Routines
Overwhelmed by clutter, a packed calendar and a to-do list that never ends? Organized On Purpose is a Christian decluttering and home organization podcast for busy moms who want a simpler home, clearer priorities and room to breathe.
You love God. You love your family. And most days, it feels like there is more to carry than you have capacity for.
The paper piles keep coming back. The closets are full. The toys are everywhere. There's a project you started in the spring that's still sitting in the garage.
You've bought the planner, tried the morning routine and watched the organizing videos. It works for a week. Then life happens.
You don't need another pile of tips you'll never have time to use. You need a plan you can actually follow through on, and enough margin to slow down, seek God first and pay attention to what matters.
I'm Kristina Borseti, professional home organizer, wife and mom. A few years ago, I felt like something was missing, so I did what a lot of us do: I added more.
More work. More commitments. More goals.
My house got messier, my calendar got fuller, and the things I genuinely enjoyed got squeezed right out. I was leaning on my own understanding and my own willpower, and it wasn't working.
What changed wasn't a better label maker. It was beginning to ask a different question:
What actually belongs in my home and my days in this season, and what doesn't?
That's what we do here. You'll get practical, step-by-step help to:
- Declutter paper, closets, kitchens, toys and sentimental items without making it more complicated than it needs to be
- Organize what's left with simple systems that work for real family life
- Finish the projects you keep putting off, one manageable step at a time
- Create routines and plans that can bend when real life changes
- Examine your stuff, your schedule and your priorities through Scripture instead of guilt, pressure or comparison
Some episodes are practical how-tos. Some are devotional. Some are coaching conversations and real-life problem solving.
Underneath all of it is the same practice: D.O.E.R. Declutter. Organize. Evaluate. Repeat.
Because getting organized isn't only about knowing what to do. At some point we have to start doing it, and keep coming back to what God says matters.
"But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only." James 1:22 KJV
So grab a donation bag, your calendar or that project you've been avoiding, pop in your earbuds, and let's get to work. It's time to get Organized On Purpose.

181 | Feeling Defeated by Clutter? Answer These 4 Lies With God’s Word
Episode 181
Show notes
Do you look at the clutter in your home and think, “I should be able to handle this”? When the paper piles and unfinished projects return, it’s easy to question whether you’ve really changed.
In this episode of Organized On Purpose, we open Ephesians 6 as our anchor scripture, and examine four lies that can leave Christian women feeling defeated by clutter. We talk about comparison, fear of letting go, identity in Christ, and waiting for an organized home before giving God our attention.
I share a practical way to examine those thoughts alongside Scripture, recognize a responsibility we’ve neglected, and identify when we need help with home organization. A listener’s guest-room praise report also helps us consider the purpose of our spaces and celebrate progress while other work remains unfinished.
For reflection: What are you believing about yourself when you look at your clutter, and does that conclusion agree with God’s Word?
Scriptures in this episode: Ephesians 6:10–18; Romans 6:11–14; Colossians 2:10; Genesis 3:4; 2 Corinthians 5:7, 17; Ephesians 2:8–10; 1 John 1:9; 2 Corinthians 10:12; 1 Thessalonians 5:14; Hebrews 13:5; 1 Timothy 6:6; Luke 10:38–42; Psalm 73:23–24.

180 | Always Organizing but Still Cluttered? Meet the D.O.E.R. Method
Episode 180
Show notes
Always organizing but still cluttered? You’ve tried decluttering, bought the containers, and rearranged the same spaces—but your home still feels harder to manage than it should.
In this episode, I introduce the D.O.E.R. Method: Declutter, Organize, Evaluate, Repeat. We begin with prayer and purpose, then explore why your home organizing systems aren’t working, what needs to change, and how to follow through without starting over.
Through client stories, my own experiences, and James 1:22–25, we consider how caring for our homes can become an opportunity to examine our priorities, practice biblical stewardship, and grow closer to Christ.
For reflection: What do you already know God is asking you to do that you haven’t acted on yet?
Scriptures in this episode: James 1:22–25; Galatians 1:19; Ephesians 2:8–10; Nehemiah 13:8–9; Lamentations 3:40; Galatians 6:9; Matthew 5:37

179 | “I’ll Get to It Later”: Why We Put Off Decluttering—and 3 Steps to Begin
Episode 179
Show notes
Do you keep putting off decluttering a closet, spare room, or pile of unfinished projects? You tell yourself, “I’ll get to it later”—but the chance never seems to come.
In this episode of Organized On Purpose, we explore why we avoid decluttering and how overwhelm, guilt, and limited capacity can turn procrastination into a habit. I share what I see as a professional organizer, along with how my own overcrowded calendar affected my home and spiritual life.
We look at research on clutter, stress, and unfinished tasks, then turn to Scripture to consider what we’re carrying—and whether it’s crowding out what God has called us to do. Mark 4:19 reminds us how the cares of this world and “other things entering in” can choke the Word.
If you don’t know where to start decluttering, I offer three steps to help you enter the space you’ve been avoiding, consider its purpose, and begin.
For reflection: What room, space, or box have you been avoiding—and what might God be asking you to release so that space can serve its purpose in this season?
Scriptures in this episode: Mark 4:19; Psalm 71:18; Genesis 3:9–10; Haggai 1:2; Haggai 2:4; Romans 6:6; Zechariah 3:1–4; John 8:44; Ephesians 2:10; Psalm 139:23; James 1:22

178 | [Devotional] Why Start Decluttering When Life Is Still Uncertain? (Jeremiah 32)
Episode 178
Show notes
Have you been waiting for life to settle down before you start decluttering or caring for your home? Maybe there's a room you keep shutting the door on, and you think, "Why start now? I don't even know what's coming next."
In this Christian devotional, we walk through Jeremiah 32 in the KJV. Jerusalem was under siege. Jeremiah was a prisoner. And God told him to buy a field. He bought it, signed the deed, and preserved the documents. Then he brought his confusion to the Lord.
God's answer is our anchor passage, Jeremiah 32:26–27: "Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah, saying, Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?"
I share how this passage spoke to me when I was surrounded by clutter, unfinished home projects, and too many commitments. We talk about God's sovereignty, faith that acts before sight, and the temptation to let everyday responsibilities slide while we wait for a bigger answer.
Jeremiah 32 is God's promise to restore His people to their land, not a promise about our circumstances. But Jeremiah's response shows us what obedience can look like in our homes and spiritual lives, even when we still have questions.
For reflection: Where are you waiting for your circumstances to change before you start tending to what God has put in your care?
Scriptures in this episode: Jeremiah 32:1–44; Jeremiah 37:11–21; Leviticus 25:25; Ecclesiastes 11:4; Luke 16:10; 1 Corinthians 6:20; Ephesians 1:13–14; Hebrews 11:1; Genesis 18:14; Luke 1:37

177 | Organization Isn't the Goal
Episode 177
Show notes
After nearly two years and almost 180 episodes, I've been reflecting on one simple truth:
Organization isn't the goal. It's the path.
In this episode, I'm looking back on what God has taught me through this podcast, through my work as a professional organizer, and through the women He's allowed me to walk alongside. We'll talk about why a peaceful home isn't found in perfect systems, but in making room for what matters most.
I'll also share the simple six-step process I've been using to help women prayerfully decide where to focus in this season—because we don't have to do everything at once.
In This Episode
• Why organization isn't the destination
• What God has been teaching me over the last two years
• Why our homes aren't project lists
• A simple six-step roadmap for choosing your next focus
• Encouragement for whatever season you're walking through📧 I'd love to hear from you.

176 | Not Enough Space? What to Do With Bulky Sweatshirts, Appliances & Awkward Cabinets
Episode 176
Show notes
Have you ever looked around your home and wondered where all the stuff is supposed to go?
In this listener Q&A episode, I'm answering three questions that might sound unrelated at first—bulky sweatshirts, crowded kitchen countertops, and those awkward dead-end corner cabinets—but they all point to a bigger challenge many of us face: making our homes work when space is limited.
We'll talk about practical ways to store bulky clothing, decide which appliances deserve valuable countertop space, and make peace with those hard-to-reach cabinets that never seem to function the way we'd like.
Along the way, we'll also explore why many of us own more than previous generations, how to stop organizing around Pinterest-perfect expectations, and why creating space in your home sometimes starts with owning less—not buying more storage.
If you've ever felt like you're constantly rearranging things but never quite getting ahead, this conversation is for you.
In This Episode:
• Where to store bulky sweatshirts without creating closet chaos
• How to decide which kitchen appliances earn countertop space
• Creative alternatives when cabinet storage is limited
• Smart ways to use awkward corner cabinets
• Why not every inch of your home needs to be maximized
• Creating a home that works for your real life—not someone else'sHave a question you'd like answered on a future episode?

174 | Forget the Personality Quiz: 10 Organizing Principles That Work for Every Christian Woman
Episode 174
Show notes
Have you ever taken an organizing personality quiz and wondered if you're really a "visual organizer," a "label lover," or someone who needs everything hidden behind closed doors?
While those tools can be fun, what if the most effective organizing advice has less to do with your personality and more to do with timeless principles that work in almost every home?
In this episode, I'm sharing 10 organizing principles I've seen work again and again with busy women navigating real life—including caregiving, ADHD, perimenopause, grief, packed schedules, and major life transitions.
We'll discuss:
✔ Why you should always remove before you organize
✔ How reducing friction makes systems easier to maintain
✔ The power of grouping like with like
✔ Creating simple zones that support daily life
✔ Why accessibility matters more than perfection
✔ How to stop relying on memory and create trusted systems
✔ Breaking overwhelming projects into manageable steps
✔ Small resets that prevent major organizing setbacksMost importantly, we'll talk about organizing through the lens of Christian stewardship—not creating a picture-perfect home, but creating more capacity for the people, responsibilities, and purpose God has placed in your life.

173 [Devotional] Why Clutter Feels So Heavy: Is God Revealing Something Deeper?
Episode 173
Show notes
Feeling overwhelmed by clutter, unfinished projects, or the constant mental load of home management?
In this devotional episode, we're exploring a deeper question:
Can we truly trust in the Lord with all our heart if we're still carrying burdens He never asked us to carry?
Using Proverbs 3, Isaiah 58, Matthew 11, and other KJV scriptures, we'll look at the difference between real burdens and perceived burdens, why clutter often reveals something deeper beneath the surface, and how surrendering the right things can create more peace, clarity, and capacity for what God is actually calling us to do.
If you've been feeling overwhelmed, distracted, spiritually dry, or weighed down by clutter and responsibility, this episode will encourage you to examine what's truly burdening your heart—and where God may be inviting you to trust Him more fully.

171 | Overwhelmed by Basement Clutter? Where to Start When You Don’t Know What to Keep
Episode 171
Show notes
Does your basement, garage, attic, or storage room feel completely overwhelming right now?
Maybe it’s filled with holiday bins, off-season clothes, old toys, paperwork, storage totes, sentimental items, or things you’ve been meaning to go through for years… and every time you walk into the space, you immediately feel stuck.
In today’s episode, I’m answering a question from a woman inside our community who shared that her basement clutter had gotten so overwhelming that she no longer knew where to start decluttering.
This is one of the most common struggles I hear from women.
Storage spaces often become the holding place for delayed decisions, busy seasons of life, sentimental clutter, unfinished projects, and the overflow of very full homes.
So today we are briefly touching on:
• how to start decluttering a basement without getting overwhelmed
• simple organizing tips for storage spaces
• how to handle “what if I need this someday?” clutter
• why sentimental items can feel difficult to let go of
• realistic decluttering strategies for busy moms
• how to create momentum when you feel stuck
• practical ways to organize storage bins, holiday décor, toys, and miscellaneous household items
• how overwhelm, grief, and life transitions can affect clutter in the homeThis episode is not about perfection or becoming a minimalist overnight.
It’s about learning how to take the next right step, simplify your home little by little, and create spaces that feel lighter, calmer, and easier to function in.
If you’ve been wondering where to start decluttering your basement, garage, or storage room, I hope this episode gives you practical encouragement and clarity to begin.

170 | When Enough Doesn’t Feel Like Enough: Clutter, Contentment & Deuteronomy 8
Episode 170
Show notes
Hey hey! This week I’m revisiting an older episode from the archives that will always feel incredibly relevant in today's world.
We’re talking scripture from Deuteronomy 8 and the reminder not to forget what God has already provided for us—especially in a world constantly pushing us toward more.
Clutter doesn’t always begin in our homes first. Sometimes it begins with comparison which can turn into discontentment, mental overload, or constantly consuming without slowing down long enough to ask why.
If last weeks episode resonated with you and you seeking a little more encouragement...
If you’ve been feeling mentally cluttered, stretched thin, or disconnected from what actually matters in this season...
I hope this conversation gives you a moment to pause and reflect. Praying for you all as always. God knows your name. <3

168 | Calendar Planning for Busy Moms: A Real-Life Monthly Reset That Helps You Stay Ahead
Episode 168
Show notes
Hey friends-
Summer is coming, and with it usually comes a shift in rhythm.
The structure of the school year starts to loosen, schedules change, and it can feel like things get a little more reactive at home.
In this episode, I’m walking you through the monthly calendar reset I’ve been using in my own home. It’s not perfect, and it might not all be for you—but it’s helped me stay a step ahead instead of constantly playing catch up.
I share how I gather everything going on for the month, build it into my calendar in a way that actually accounts for real life, and then make it visible for my family so we’re not scrambling day to day. I also talk through why I look for white space in our weeks, and how I use a simple weekly reset to feel more prepared going into each week.
This isn’t about doing it “right” or adding more to your plate. It’s just one way to create a little more structure so your home can feel more supported—especially heading into summer.
If things have been feeling a little scattered lately, or you’re trying to get ahead before schedules shift, I hope this gives you a place to start.

167 | You Decluttered… So Why Is the Clutter Still Sitting There?
Episode 167
Show notes
You decluttered… so why is the clutter still sitting there?
You made the decisions. You cleared the space.
But the piles are still there — waiting. In this episode, we talk about the step most women skip after decluttering — and why your home still feels unfinished even after you’ve done the hard work.
This is for the woman who:
• has piles sitting for weeks (or months) because she doesn’t know where things go
• feels stuck between “I don’t want this” and “I don’t know how to get rid of it”
• keeps putting off items that require extra time, research, or effortWe walk through the idea of creating a simple exit plan — not more organizing, not more sorting — just deciding where things are going and following through.
You’ll hear real-life examples of the items that tend to stall the process, like:
• things that can’t just be donated or thrown away
• items that require special drop-off (paint, chemicals, batteries)
• old electronics, cords, and devices that need recycling
• bulky or awkward items like furniture, wood, or equipment
• regulated items like medications or medical suppliesThis episode is about closing the loop — so your home can actually reflect the work you’ve already done.
Because if you don’t decide where things are going…
they stay.Praying this episode is helpful or encouraging to you.

166 | 10 Small Organizing Changes That Reduced Stress in My Home (Simple Systems That Work)
Episode 166
Show notes
Most organizing advice focuses on where to start or how to declutter (which we cover on this show often), but what doesn’t get enough attention — and often makes the biggest difference — are the small systems that make everyday life easier to maintain.
Recently I was invited to consult on an organizing project for a nonprofit in Boston, and one word kept coming up over and over again: function. Not just how things look, but how they actually work for the people using the space.
It made me reflect on what we've been working toward in our own home too — creating systems that support how we actually live in this season, not just how we want things to look.
In this episode I’m sharing 10 small organizing changes we've made that are reducing daily stress and making life run a little smoother. Nothing dramatic and definitely nothing perfect — just practical adjustments that are working right now.
Praying you find clarity in your next steps!

165 | [Devotional] Living Busy but Feeling Empty: How God Redirected My Life
Episode 165
Show notes
What if the overwhelm you feel isn't just from doing too much… but from carrying things God never asked you to carry?
In this special Resurrection Sunday devotional episode of Organized On Purpose, I’m sharing a very personal testimony. For years I lived busy, chasing purpose, trying to prove I was enough, and building my identity around work, achievement, and what the world said mattered. On the outside life looked full—but internally I often felt empty, stretched thin, and spiritually disconnected.
In this episode I share:
• How God protected me even before I fully knew Him
• The quiet ways worldly priorities can crowd out faith
• How busyness and striving can become spiritual clutter
• The moment God began redirecting my heart
• Encouragement if you feel overwhelmed in midlife, motherhood, or home managementIf you are a Christian woman trying to balance faith, family, home, and responsibilities while wondering why you still feel tired, this episode is for you.
Resurrection Sunday points us to the price Jesus paid so we could be forgiven and brought back to God. His death shows His love, and His resurrection shows His victory. My prayer is that as you reflect on your own life, you see His grace, His patience, and His invitation to walk closely with Him.

164 | Struggling to Let Go of Sentimental Clutter? Why It Feels So Emotional (and How to Move Forward With Peace)
Episode 164
Show notes
Letting go of sentimental clutter is different than decluttering everyday items. Sometimes what looks like disorganization isn’t about stuff at all—it’s about memory, identity, and the seasons of life we don’t want to forget.
In this episode, we talk about why it can feel so emotional to declutter sentimental items and why that doesn’t mean you're doing anything wrong. If you've ever felt stuck trying to organize meaningful belongings or wondered why certain items feel impossible to let go of, this conversation will help you understand what’s really happening beneath the surface.
We’ll also talk about:
• Why sentimental clutter forms
• How memory and meaning affect decluttering decisions
• Why grief and life transitions can make organizing harder
• How to let go without feeling like you’re losing your past
• A gentle way to move forward when you feel stuckSometimes organizing isn’t about finding better bins or better systems. Sometimes it’s about giving yourself permission to move forward while still honoring where you’ve been.
If you’re overwhelmed by sentimental clutter, this episode will help you approach decluttering with more clarity, compassion, and peace.

162 | Real Life Decluttering Week (Day 7): Renew Your Mind and Reset Your Home
Episode 162
Show notes
Hi friends!
Real Life Decluttering Week is a 7-day decluttering reset designed for busy Christian women who want a calmer home without spending hours organizing.
Each day includes:
• a short Scripture reflection
• one simple decluttering step (10–15 minutes or less)
• guidance to help your home support your real lifeIf you’re a midlife Christian mom balancing family, work, marriage, and serving others, this series will help you clear the physical clutter that quietly drains your energy and clouds your focus.
Instead of tackling everything at once, we take small, faithful steps toward a home that functions well and supports the life God has called you to live.
Because God is not the author of confusion — and peace often begins with clearing what no longer belongs.
Today in Day 7, we pause to reflect on what you’ve accomplished this week and choose one simple habit to carry forward so your progress continues beyond the challenge.
New to the series? Start with Day 1: God Is Not the Author of Confusion — Start Clearing the Clutter Today and move through the week with us.
As a professional home organizer and Christian mom myself, I know how quickly clutter can build during full seasons of life — and how powerful small, faithful steps can be in restoring peace at home.
