This week Derek Micko joins us on the podcast. We met Derek at the J-MEFF event and found he designs and builds micro electric flyers. Derek prints the details of his creations on tissue paper and applies them to the build up model to create amazing projects that look and fly incredible. Join us this week as he takes us through this process and how it all comes together.

This week Shannon and AZ Mike were in attendance at 20th year of John Morgan Electric Fun Fly (J-MEFF) in sunny St George, UT. Both of them agree that it is one of the prettiest fields they have flown. The event was amazing and there were some very awesome builds and pilots. Some of the scratch built planes were in a class all by themselves and it was truly a pleasure to see them all. Special Guest – Phillip Tallman

This week we have a special guest in the studio, Phillip Tallman. Phillip joins us as his name is on the ballot for the AMA executive VP. Phillip brings us up to speed on how he got into flying remote control and where he sees the future of the AMA. We also touch on the government ability to work with the AMA to keep our hobby fun and exciting.

PC-21 Release 2026

This week Jay is back in the studio and the guys are discussing the new release from Horizon Hobby the PC-21. They go over the preorder and specs and Shannon dreams of owning a turboprop version. Jet Fun Fly 2026

This week join the guys as they send AZ Mike out to Chino Valley Flyers Jet Fun Fly. Chino Valley is located just north of the Prescott,AZ and has a beautiful flying field complete with paved runway and wonderful mountain views. The event was a little smaller than the club wanted but it allowed everyone to fly as often as they wished and some awesome turbine and EDF jets were present. The heat was upon us but everyone had a great time and some good flights. Take a video tour with the hosts as they share the visit with everyone. Arizona Scale Aviation Airshow 2026

Join the guys this week as they attend the Arizona Scale Aviation Airshow (formally Warbirds and Classics) in Phoenix AZ. AK Mike and Shannon G attended the event and Jay joined them from the studio. The event was loads of fun and lots of very cool airplanes were at the field. Even though it was over 100 degrees everyone had a great time and stayed cool. GreenFest 2026

AZEF 2026

This week we join the guys as they all attend the Arizona Electric Festival in Mesa, AZ. We are pleased this year to have Jay and AK Mike join us as we enjoy the festivities and fun here on these sunny AZ days. Over 50 pilots were registered and there were some great airplanes on the flight line. Join the guys as they discuss some of ones they like the best and which ones had great flights. Although we didn't do as much flying as in years past…due to AZ Mikes fleet reduction incident we had just as much fun chatting with new people and old friends. We had so much fun just hanging out with our listeners we totally forgot about flying..well maybe not totally….we got to fly the T28 Trojan a few times and had a blast during the noon show flying with the whole gaggle. Thanks to the entire AZEF staff for always putting up with us and making us a part of this wonderful event. Cant wait till next year!

Winter Warbirds 2026

Join the guys this week as they attend Winter Warbirds 2026 in Phoenix, AZ. This years events were blessed with great weather and 88+ pilots who brought out their gear to fly. Pacific Jets brought their F-22 and F-18 and Banana Hobby brought out the JetRuler Gripen Jet. Also on hand was Global Jet Club P-47 in the black and silver scheme that they debuted at last years event. Also out this year was the T38 that made an incredible showing. With great weather and great pilots the event was a huge success. Everyone had a blast and the airplanes were amazing.

Welcome Home Mike

This week we are lucky enough to have AZ Mike join us again on the podcast. We are sorry we missed our first episode of the year but Mike explains what happened during the holidays and brings us up to speed on his health and situation. As tragic as these events were we are so glad to have Mike with us and lucky that things all lined up the way they did, it was truly divine intervention. Thank you so much for the outpouring of support for Mike it is truly amazing and we know he truly appreciates it from the bottom of his heart. Which by the way is on the mend….Thanks for joining us and we look forward to your comments.
