Phenomenally ADHD: Manage Money The ADHD Way

Education, Health & Fitness, How To, Mental Health

Money can bring every ADHD challenge to the surface — impulsive spending, forgotten bills, avoidance, decision fatigue, debt stress, or earning good money and still wondering where it all went. But your relationship with money also influences greatly how to interact with it.

Phenomenally ADHD is a podcast for women with ADHD who want to understand what is really happening with their money, learn to manage it in a way that works with their uniquely wired brain instead of fighting it and create a healthy relationship with money.

If money feels harder than it “should” — whether that means overspending, avoiding your numbers, struggling to save, forgetting financial tasks, feeling overwhelmed by decisions, or having no idea where your money keeps disappearing — you’re in the right place.

Hosted by Zarina Boily, ADHD & Money coach and a woman with ADHD herself, this podcast explores ADHD through the lens of money because money touches almost everything: how we plan, decide, spend, earn, save, avoid, recover, and trust ourselves.

Outspoken, funny, and enthusiastic, Zarina brings a practical edge to the money struggles so many ADHD women quietly carry, making complicated things feel simpler, more manageable, and far less exhausting.

This is not about forcing yourself into budgets, routines, or financial systems that were never built for your brain. It is about understanding your patterns, using your strengths, reducing mental effort, and creating a more intentional and empowering relationship with money.

You gain so much when you do money the ADHD way. That is how you move out of chaos and into clarity.

You get to define success, money, meaning, and fulfillment on your own terms.

Because the goal is not to blend in. The goal is to be true to yourself and phenomenally stand out in your own way.

If you’re ready to stop trying to figure it all out alone and investigate what’s really going on with your money, a Breakthrough Coaching Session gives you personalized support to identify the money friction getting in your way and what to do next. More at https://www.zarinaboily.com/coaching

  6. How Knowing Your Core Values Can Help With ADHD

    Episode 6

    Show notes

Living a simple, fulfilling life with ADHD is possible, especially when your decisions, priorities and actions are driven and determined by your core values.

They are powerful, essential and can help decrease the intensity level of challenges such as:

    • Overwhelm
    • Negative self-talk
    • Inability to see strengths
    • Attention on what’s not working
    • Unable to remember successes
    • Rumination

Values help clarify your vision and give direction. They are also great to building understanding and awareness. Your perception about yourself really shift when your values are the centrepiece of your life, you have more compassion for yourself, and are more able to focus on our strengths, passions and successes because that works really well for us.

On the other hand, fearing to be late and doing everything possible to make sure you arrive on time, you are time nearsighted.

But it goes farther than that. You may arrive at the end of your day with the feeling you haven’t accomplished anything.

You may also be under the impression that you won’t have enough time to do or accomplish everything you want in this lifetime or on the contrary, that you have plenty of time.

Adults with ADHD perceive time differently and it’s one of the many reasons why functioning in a world that is so regulated by it is such a challenge.

  16. Navigating Through Emotional Chaos

    Episode 16

    Show notes

The intensity with which we, adults with ADHD, experience life can reach levels that often feels unbearable. So much so that we get easily drained and exhausted emotionally.

And with the complexity of both ADHD and emotions, the easiest thing to do is avoiding the pain instead of working through it.

Even if emotional-regulation is something that we struggle with, I don’t think it has anything to do with being incapable of navigating our emotions.

We just need to figure out ways to do it that matches our uniquely wired brain.

In this episode of the Phenomenally ADHD podcast you will discover the process I use to make sure strong and intense emotions don’t take me on a spin.
