Pickin' It Out with Andrew Pope

this week i am honored to be pickin it out with a man that we have not heard or seen much from in the last few years, mr. clinton gregory. clinton came from a long line of fiddle players and is one of the best ever. he also had a record deal in the 1990s and toured with acts like suzy bogguss, gene watson and more. sadly, in 2017 clinton had a stroke that impaired his ability to play the instrument that he loves so much. clinton invited me into his home to talk about this for the first time on camera. we filmed this great conversation because he wanted to talk about his life as well as address some other things he has not talked about. do NOT miss this with a country music and bluegrass legend that we do not appreciate enough, clinton gregory.

y'all have been askin for it, and now you have it. this week we are pickin it out with one of the best country singers you've never heard of, but you are about to. mr. thomas sheffield. he is every bit as good as traditionalists such as daryle singletary, mo pitney, and jake worthington. we talked about his move to nashville from his oklahoma hometown, his musical heroes, his rowdy days, and how God turned it all around. don't miss this'n y'all. NOTE: we had some camera overheating issues so we had to cut the conversation a little short but we will pick it back up soon.

this week, i am so honored to be pickin it out with a legend in country and bluegrass music, ricky skaggs. we talked about everything from getting his very first mandolin to working with dolly parton to his latest single 'say a prayer'. a great conversation with a music legend. don't miss this'n yall.

this week, i am pickin it out with the founder of lucky dog guitars, mr. anthony sims. we had a great conversation about everything from how he started building these one of a kind guitars, to stories about merle haggard and redd volkaert, george jones and don williams, as well as his honky tonk days. anthony's story should really inspire anybody that watches this. don't miss it y'all.

sometimes, no introduction is needed. this week, i am pickin it out with one of my biggest heroes and a man i am proud to call a friend, mr. travis tritt. if you have ever wanted to just sit and talk with travis tritt, do not miss this very candid episode with a country music legend (that NEEDS to be in the country music hall of fame). we talked about his friendships with folks like hank williams jr and waylon jennings, how he never moved to nashville, why he ever wanted to write a song, our mutual friend miss jeannie c riley, the state of country music today and so much more. if you are a newcomer in the music industry, travis also gives some invaluable advice. a lot of times i say don't miss this'n but right now i am going to tell you to absolutely NOT miss this. i appreciate travis having us out to his home to film this conversation.

this week you are in for quite a treat because i am pickin it out with a couple of legends in country music, peanutt and charlene montgomery. now peanutt wrote over 70 songs for george jones and tammy wynette. he also wrote songs for emmylou harris, hank williams jr, melba montgomery, and many more. you might have seen them on shows like 'tales from the tour bus' or 'george and tammy' but you have never seen them like this.

i apologize for the audio issues in this episode. it was filmed in april 2026, before i upgraded all of my equipment, so we had some mic problems. after a lot of thought, i decided this episode is too good not to publish so i hope y'all will enjoy this as much as i did and please forgive me for the sound problems in this one.

this week, i am pickin it out with one of my favorite real country music artists these days, mo pitney. we talk about everything from mo meeting merle haggard to the bible to the current state of his longtime record deal with curb records.

And if you are in the market for a new home give Gerald a call at the Gerald Murray Home Center in muscle shoals alabama.
