It was a HUGE week on and off the pitch!

The Premier League delivered another weekend full of surprises, big results, and plenty to talk about — including Arsenal’s impressive win, a Manchester derby decided by a single (very sketchy) goal, and some unexpected results around the league.

But this week was extra special for us because while we were watching the Premier League action, Luca was battling it out on the pitch with his own team FC Charleston! After a weekend of hard-fought games, his team went for the championship… and WON IT 2-1 in the finals going 4-0 over the 3 day tournament. We are so proud of him and his teammates for playing so well and working so hard🏆🔥

So this week on Premier League Playground, we’re celebrating the beautiful game at every level — from the biggest stadiums in England to the youth soccer fields of Mount Pleasant, SC where the next generation is learning what it takes to compete, work together, and win.

This week on the PLP we of course dive into one of the biggest moments in modern English football history as Arsenal are crowned Premier League champions for the first time in 22 years. As much as we love to cover the whole Premier League the Dad and Lad are massive Gunners at heart! We break down Mikel Arteta’s incredible rebuild, the key performances from stars like Gabriel, Declan Rice, and David Raya (all who were nominated for Premier League player of the year) and what this title means for Arsenal fans around the world after years of near misses and heartbreak. We’ll also discuss where this squad ranks among the club’s great teams, the emotional scenes in North London Tuesday night and what could come next for the new kings of England.

What a week 36 in the Premier League! Arsenal remain 5 points up on City (who have a game in hand) after one of the most consequential VAR checks in the history of the Premier League. And the battle for the last relegation spot still remains tight with Spurs leading West Ham by two points with two games to go. Luca gives us his take on who the top three Ballon d’Or candidates should be at this point. And we look at some of the stats on how long the ball is actually in play during a Premier League match.

Week 35 in the Premier League is done and we only have three weeks left of the Premier League season. Arsenal gained a little bit of an edge in the title race as City tie Everton in a thrilling 3-3 game. Tottenham move above West Ham in the race to not be relegated. We get Luca’s opinion on his favorite sports to watch and play. We learn a little bit more about the Scottish Premier League and an interesting way they break down the end of their season in our Did You Know section. Plus can you name all the PL teams with a soccer ball in their badge? Find out who they are in our penalty kick trivia shootout.

Happy 12th birthday to the Lad! We had a big birthday this week as well as some big games in the Premier League. Week 34 in the books. Luca gives us his take on the best soccer leagues in the world. We learn a few more soccer terms and the origin of the words. And of course Luca gives us his picks for a hugely important week 35 coming up.

We are coming down the stretch in the Premier League season and City are chasing down Arsenal and look to be the clear favorites to win the league after beating Arsenal 2-1. In other soccer news Luca and his teammates did great in a weekend tournament winning their division in dramatic fashion scoring a goal to win the championship game 2-1 with no time left on the clock. Great job by FCC Gold JD!!

Week 32 in the books and we’re definitely into the business end of the season now. The title race is getting tighter as Man City pick up three big points on Arsenal with Arsenal’s loss to Bournemouth. West Ham leapfrog Tottenham putting them in the relegation zone. And the battle for fifth, six and seventh is as tight as it’s been all season. Join us as we break down all the action. Luca gives us his take on his two favorite retired players of all time. And we learn a little bit more about the FA Cup in the Did You Know section.

The first trophy of the season was given out and City are the winners. A decisive victory in the League Cup final against Arsenal. Not a whole lot of movement in the table after week 31. We now go into an international break as the World Cup final spots are decided and we get the FA cup quarterfinals going. Luca runs down his team's tournament from last weekend and we look at the new Championship playoff format in our mailbag question.

Did a 16 year-old help Arsenal win the title? Max Dowman becomes the youngest ever Premier League goal scorer at 16 years 73 days old as Arsenal win in dramatic fashion extending their lead over City by two points. All teams in the relegation battle tied and its still too close to call for Champions League spots.
