S1 Ep29: He Died Twice. Then the Divine Called Him Back to the Desert. / Jonathan Ashford
Season 1, Episode 29
Show notes
Jonathan Ashford died twice. And then Divine Consciousness told him it was time for a third experience.
We traveled to Sedona, Arizona, to reunite with Jonathan and Elise for a remarkable follow-up conversation. When Jonathan previously joined us on Realization Lab, he shared the story of his death and return to life, and how that experience transformed virtually everything about him. He emerged with an entirely different perspective, eventually giving away his possessions, living out of his car, and dedicating himself to helping others.
Jonathan also shared how, exactly three years after his first death, he was instructed by Divine Consciousness—which he refers to simply as “It”—to travel to the Moab Desert, where he experienced a second death.
And now, in this episode, Jonathan tells us about a third extraordinary experience. Once again, the setting was the Moab Desert. In the middle of the night. But this time, he wasn't alone.
Jonathan was told that Elise could accompany him as a witness, and that Jay could come along to photograph what was about to happen. But “It” also made an extraordinary promise: both Jay and Elise would have important experiences of their own.
In this episode, Jonathan, Elise, and Jay recount the events of that extraordinary night: what they witnessed, what they experienced individually, and how the experience changed all three of their lives. David joins the conversation to hear the story firsthand.
Three people. One night in the desert. And a third experience none of them could have anticipated.
Welcome to Realization Lab.

S1 Ep28: He Saw Things the Rest of Us Can't See / Christopher Henrikson
Season 1, Episode 28
Show notes
Throughout his life, Christopher Henrikson has seen amazing things. Things the rest of us can't see. And his experiences have led him down a remarkable spiritual path.
In this episode, we sit down with Christopher Henrikson, founder of Street Poets—an organization that helps gang members and other young people channel their rage, pain, and life challenges into spoken-word poetry.
Christopher’s life has taken him on a fascinating journey, bringing him face-to-face with some of the hardest, most violent realities of our world, such as gang culture. And simultaneously into profound spiritual experiences that challenge our understanding of reality.
Christopher talks about facing off against a dark, serpent-like energy connected to a gang member he was working with, and helping that man break free from its influence and leave gang life behind.
He shares the otherworldly experience that helped inspire his life’s work: a visit from the spirit of the poet Walt Whitman.
And he recounts a deeply personal healing experience in the woods, where he literally took on the identity of a bear—and freed himself in the process.
Join us for a fascinating conversation about spiritual energy, encounters with the unseen, the mysteries of consciousness, and the possibility that reality is far stranger—and more transformative—than we could ever imagine.

S1 Ep27: "We are Inside a Simulation" - What I Saw When I Died / Betty Guadagno
Season 1, Episode 27
Show notes
Are the challenges we face in life part of a pre-planned journey our souls chose before we were born? Or are we trapped inside a simulation or a cosmic reincarnation loop on a "Prison Planet"? And what if all the pain we endure are really our most treasured jewels uniquely designed to help each of us reach our highest potential?
In this fascinating Q&A conversation, Betty Guadagno shares the profound insights she brought back from a near-death experience that transformed her understanding of God, consciousness, and the purpose of being human.
After surviving years of hardcore addiction and profound personal struggles, Betty experienced a reality that challenged everything she thought she knew. She returned with a startling perspective on why we voluntarily choose to come to Earth, how we plan our major life markers before birth, and why reality can feel like a game of "The Sims" filled with weird side quests.
In our conversation we wrestle with the core question: If we are all part of a greater divine consciousness, why do we need to experience the dense difficulties of human life at all? Betty explains that her mission isn't to convince anyone, but to help people dismantle shame and guilt—and recognize that they are worthy of unconditional love, no matter what they've been through.
We also explore spiritual guidance, surrender, and a challenging lesson about letting go of the internal GPS of control to accept what is in the present moment.
Join us for a thought-provoking journey into the nature of reality, the purpose of suffering, and what it might mean to be loved without judgment.

S1 Ep26: I Refused to Return to Earth. The Light Beings Laughed at Me / Betty Guadagno
Season 1, Episode 26
Show notes
There was a time when Betty Guadagno was living on the edge of destruction.
Her childhood was marked by trauma, addiction, and chaos. As an adult, she became a heroin addict and prostitute, spent time homeless, and found herself trapped in a life she could barely imagine escaping.
Then, Betty had a near-death experience that shattered everything she thought she knew about reality.
During her NDE, Betty was confronted with a terrifyingly raw Life Review where she didn’t just look at her past—she was forced to literally feel the exact pain and anguish of every person she had ever harmed. It was a space so intense she initially believed she was trapped in hell.
But when it came time to return to her body, Betty completely refused. She threw herself down in front of the light beings, screaming that she didn't want to go back to Earth. What happened next, and the cosmic reason the light beings laughed and sent her back anyway, is a profound revelation about why souls actively choose to live such brutal, hard human lives.
The woman who emerged from that bathroom floor was radically and spontaneously healed. The addiction was gone. The degradation was gone. And in its place was a profound new understanding of universal love, consciousness, forgiveness, and what it truly means to be human.
Today, Betty is happily married, deeply grounded, and one of the most compelling spiritual teachers we've encountered. She doesn't speak about consciousness from some ivory tower—she speaks from raw, firsthand experience.
In this conversation, Betty takes us inside her remarkable transformation: the childhood that shaped her, the addiction that nearly destroyed her, the unforgettable near-death experience that changed everything, and the radically different way she sees life now.
It's a story about addiction, survival, cosmic awakening, and the beautiful possibility of becoming someone you never imagined you could be.
And ultimately, it's a story about just how completely a human being can change.

S1 Ep25: ETs Speak Thru Him / Daniel Scranton
Season 1, Episode 25
Show notes
The Arcturians Say ET Contact Is Coming Within 12 Months
In Part 2 of our conversation with Daniel Scranton, we go directly to the source. Daniel channels an Arcturian collective, who speak through him about the future of humanity and the transformation taking place on Earth – now and in the near future.
According to the Arcturians, global extraterrestrial contact is coming within the next 12 months. They explain why this is happening, what humanity may experience as contact becomes more open, and what this extraordinary moment could mean for the future of our planet.
This isn't simply a conversation about extraterrestrials. In this episode, Daniel channels the Arcturians themselves as they address humanity and describe what they say is in store for Earth.
What will happen when humanity realizes we are not alone? What might first contact actually look like? Why are the ETs coming? And what do the Arcturians say we should expect over the next year?
Join us for a fascinating—and potentially paradigm-shifting—conversation about extraterrestrial contact, consciousness, humanity's evolution, and the future of Earth.

S1 Ep24: First Contact Is Coming!
Season 1, Episode 24
Show notes
Daniel Scranton has been talking to non-human intelligences for over a decade — and this episode, he's telling Jay and David what they're planning for Earth.
Scranton, one of the most-read channels in the world (his audiobooks top Amazon's charts), walks through the two encounters that changed his life: a devastating rock-bottom night in 2010 that ended with an overwhelming download of energy he could only describe as "aliens," and a close encounter on a California freeway where a translucent, amoeba-shaped craft flew straight at his windshield before veering off at the last second.
From there, he lays out what he says is coming — a lifted quarantine, soft disclosure rolling out in real time, Pleiadian first contact designed not to terrify us, and a timeline he puts at within the next twelve months.
David, ever the skeptic, isn't really buying it — but he's willing to find out. And by the end of the episode, Jay and David do exactly that, opening the floor to one of the entities Daniel channels directly.
Hybrid beings, nuclear disarmament, galactic history, and what happens to human belief systems the day the ships actually show up – it’s all here in this mind-blowing episode.

S1 Ep23: Ibogaine, The Toad & A Journey Beyond Death | Kate McCabe
Season 1, Episode 23
Show notes
What if something poisonous could also be profoundly healing?
In this fascinating episode, Jay and David sit down with plant-medicine practitioner Kate McCabe for an extraordinary conversation about psychedelics, addiction, healing, and the mysterious territory where spirituality and science intersect.
Kate's own journey is remarkable. After years of struggling with opioid addiction, she was set free almost instantly by ibogaine. And then, just days later, she had a profound encounter with bufo – toad poison – that would change the course of her life.
Jay also shares his own extraordinarily intense experience with bufo, including visions of past lives, encounters with what he perceived as spiritual guides, a terrifying struggle to surrender, and the overwhelming realization that reality may be far larger than the categories we use to explain it.
Is what happens during these experiences a chemical reaction in the brain, a journey into the subconscious, a glimpse into another dimension—or something we don't yet have language for?
As always, Realization Lab doesn't tell you what to believe. We explore the experience and leave the mystery open.

S1 Ep20: David Goes Under: A Past Life Regression / Sarah Breskman Cosme (Part Two)
Season 1, Episode 20
Show notes
In Part Two of our conversation with Sarah Breskman Cosme, Sarah puts our own David Ronn under hypnosis for a past life regression.
What happens next takes David somewhere he never expected to go. He begins describing images, people, places, and experiences from what appears to be another lifetime—details that seem to emerge spontaneously as Sarah guides him deeper into his subconscious.
But the regression takes an even stranger turn when Sarah begins asking David about his purpose in this life, the lessons he may have carried forward, and his possible connection to something beyond our physical world.
Some of what David experiences is deeply personal. Some of it is downright bizarre. And some of it is difficult to explain away.
After the hypnosis, David and Jay sit down to unpack what happened. Did David actually access a past life, or was his imagination simply creating a story in real time? We land — as we often do — on opposite sides of things, and dig into it: quantum physics, levitating yogis, dream logic, and what it would actually take to change either of our minds.
Welcome back to the Realization Lab.

S1 Ep17: 3 Years Later He Died Again / Jonathan Ashford & Elise Phipps (Part Two)
Season 1, Episode 17
Show notes
In Part One, Jonathan Ashford described being a driven tech executive who had a powerful near death experience (NDE) — and came back changed beyond recognition. In Part Two, the story goes further than anyone expected. Jonathan reveals the messages that started arriving months in advance, pinpointing an exact time and location: 4:30 a.m., deep in the Moab desert, on the third anniversary of his death. He walked in not knowing if he'd walk out.
Jonathan says, during his second death, he was somewhere else entirely — a place he calls "the space between spaces." When he came back, so did pieces of his humanity he thought were gone for good: taste, desire, the ability to fall for someone.
That someone is Elise Phipps, who joins the conversation to tell her side — how she found her way to Jonathan through a small Idaho town, a wave of second-hand recommendations, and a first meeting that left her without a single question left to ask. Together they trace the eerie synchronicities that followed, and a bond that developed without it ever feeling like a choice.
It's a story about surrender, about what's left of a person after everything material has been stripped away twice — and about what starts to grow back.

S1 Ep16: How Dying Changed My Life / Jonathan Ashford
Season 1, Episode 16
Show notes
Jonathan Ashford never expected to become one of the most compelling voices in the near-death experience community.
Before his death, he was a successful technology executive living what he describes as a "James Bond lifestyle"—wealthy, ambitious, intensely driven, and openly dismissive of spirituality. Then, at just 46 years old, his body suddenly began shutting down – and Jonathan died.
What followed completely shattered his understanding of reality.
In this deeply moving conversation, Jonathan describes leaving his body, experiencing overwhelming unconditional love, witnessing a profound life review, encountering what he calls "Love Itself," and being given a choice: remain where he was... or return to help others.
He also explains why he no longer fears death, why he believes consciousness survives the body, and how the man who came back bears almost no resemblance to the person who died.
Whether you're skeptical, spiritual, or simply curious about what may await us beyond this life, Jonathan's story is one you won't soon forget.

S1 Ep15: Healing Across Lifetimes / Shana Schlossberg (Part 2)
Season 1, Episode 15
Show notes
When we left off, Jay was about to reveal what happened when he got on Shana's table himself — and how it cracked something open within him he never expected.
In part two, Shana takes us inside the mechanics of her work: how trauma lodges itself in the body long before the mind can name it, how she reads a client's chakras like pages in a story, and why she believes nearly every adult struggle traces back to something unresolved in childhood — or, in a surprising number of cases, in a past life entirely. She walks through the session that surfaced a buried memory from Jay's own childhood, and Jay describes a powerful experience he calls nothing short of life-altering.
The conversation widens from there into the biggest questions Shana grapples with in her work: why suffering exists at all, what Kabbalah teaches about the sanctity of every single soul, and why she believes humanity is racing against the clock to wake up before the "new world" fully arrives. Along the way, David — still very much the skeptic — presses her on how much of this he can actually buy.
Part two of two — funny, unflinching, and at times genuinely startling.
