SceneS DissecteD

Welcome to the Movie Lab, my fellow Scene Sleuths!

I'm your host, Lee Howard, and we're kicking off our very first cinematic investigation with a trip back to 1999 and Stephen Sommers' The Mummy!

In this episode, we're taking a closer look at Scene 1: The Living Death. We'll break down the characters, performances, special effects, sets, costumes, music, and all the little filmmaking details that help bring this unforgettable opening to life.

But before we get our hands dirty in the Movie Lab, we're taking a look back at 1999. What movies were dominating the box office? What made The Mummy such a memorable hit? And how does it compare to Universal's legendary Monster Movie Classics?

We'll also take a quick look at the upcoming The Mummy: Book of the Dead and discuss what's happening with the next chapter in the franchise.

So grab your lab coat, put on those safety goggles, and get that popcorn ready.

The dissection is about to begin!
