  1. Seahawks Postgame: Brian Fleury, Goldilocks Sam and the Playoff Math

    Show notes

The Chicago Bears handed the Seattle Seahawks their worst loss of the Mike Macdonald era and left our Seahawks at 4-4 with one week to go before the bye. We start with an offensive line that was reshuffled on a week of prep, as Jeffery Simmons wrecked Grey Zabel at right guard in Quenton Nelson's debut. From there we get into Sam Darnold, who bailed from clean pockets, threw a late interception and overall looked uncomfortable behind his offensive line. Is it too soon to give up on offensive coordinator Brian Fleury, whose pace and red zone calls drew plenty of heat from the chat? We also talk through how Jaxon Smith-Njigba continues to carry the passing game, a run game that never got going, a B-minus defensive performance and the critical special teams mistakes. We step back to a short week against the Cardinals, look at the math on making the playoffs, and talk about why we would sign up for a rematch with Chicago in January.

  2. Seahawks vs Bears: Week 8 Game News, Notes, and Top Predictions

    Show notes

With kickoff less than a day away, we go through some of the injury news and rumors we've been hearing leading to the Seahawks game against the Bears. First come the trade rumors, and why would our Seahawks move on Jarran Reed or Jadarian Price in the middle of a Super Bowl run? We also try to decode what Mike Macdonald meant when he said the team would let the transaction speak for itself, and where we stand on a Jonathan Taylor trade. Then it's the injury report: Charles Cross is out, Uchenna Nwosu is doubtful and the absence of Rashid Shaheed could open the door for Tory Horton. We also run through the Bears' injuries, including Kyle Monangai and Cole Kmet, check the rooting guide as Sunday's games wind down and update the Pick 'Em league. Then we make our picks for the weekly bets segment, from a Tory Horton prop and a Sam Darnold touchdown long shot to a Swift-under parlay and two Fail Marys.

  3. Seahawks Week 8 Preview: EJ Snyder of Bear Era, Plus Nite Wave's Pregame Tailgate Set

    Show notes

The Seattle Seahawks are set to play on Monday Night Football, and their opponent just made a blockbuster trade of their own to counter the acquisition of guard Quenton Nelson. Bears fan and Bootleg Football/Bear Era co-host EJ Snyder explains why Caleb Williams looks like a different quarterback in Year 2 of Ben Johnson's offense, and why that should worry our Seahawks. Will Kyle Monangai play, and will Johnson ever stray from the run when it gets tough? EJ also breaks down what Simmons brings to Chicago, why Jaxon Smith-Njigba against the Bears' struggling outside corners is a nightmare for any defense, and whether a Devin Bush revenge game is coming.

Then Michael Henrichsen of the 80s cover band Nite Wave joins to preview the band's set at the Seahawks' official tailgate at the WaMu Theater (2:30 to 3:30 p.m. before kickoff), tell the story of how a birthday-party stunt landed Billy Idol and share what it was like to be the Kraken's emergency goalie. He also gives his take on the Jonathan Taylor trade rumors and why he feels great about this team.

  4. What If?... Quenton Nelson is the Missing Piece for the Seahawks

    Show notes

The Seattle Seahawks (4-3) host the Chicago Bears (5-2) on Monday Night Football, and both teams just traded for a lineman who could swing the night: guard Quenton Nelson for us and defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons for Chicago. The Bears are coming off a 30-24 win over the Patriots, and Ben Johnson's offense looked as dangerous as advertised. We look at the Bears who could pop up and be a nuisance and talk about which matters more in the run game, quality or quantity? There's also a floor-and-ceiling look at Darnold and Caleb Williams, a round of quick-fire match-ups (the Fridge versus the Boz), and a hard look at how Ben Johnson might attack Devon Witherspoon and Nick Emmanwori. Our wishes include two Seahawks interceptions and three or fewer interior pressures on the new-look line, plus a stacked batch of wishes from the Flock.

  5. Seahawks vs. Bears Preview, Quenton Nelson's Fit, and JSN's Historic Start

    Episode 511

    Show notes

The Seattle Seahawks are coming off their 20-3 win over the Kansas City Chiefs and looking ahead to a Monday Night Football showdown with the Chicago Bears and Ben Johnson's red-hot offense. The defensive performance was exceptional and Nick Emmanwori's and Tyrice Knight both played a big role. Jaxon Smith-Njigba's start to 2026 is unmatched in the Super Bowl era. We did into how the offense found its rhythm nearing 70 percent conversion rate on 3rd down. It's was the best conversion rate so far under Mike Macdonald. Should Fleury get some of the credit, and does "run, run, pass" deserve more respect?

Next comes the offensive line puzzle after the Quenton Nelson trade: where Grey Zabel, Jalen Sundell and Anthony Bradford fit, and whether Mike Macdonald is running a disinformation campaign. Maybe the answer is easier, and ultimately less disruptive, than we all expect. We also size up Caleb Williams, Luther Burden and the Bears' defense. A reluctant thank you goes out to the Falcons, as we ponder what the 49ers' first loss means for the NFC West. Finally, Do Better goes to Klint Kubiak's fourth-down gambles and the Chiefs latest signing on special teams. Better at Life features killer bees, a sock-clogged washing machine and an important tip when it comes to home repair projects.

  6. 3 IN, 3 OUT: Is Anthony Bradford Out After the Quenton Nelson Trade?

    Show notes

The Seattle Seahawks sent a 2027 third-round pick and a 2028 fifth-round pick to the Indianapolis Colts for All-Pro guard Quenton Nelson. We break down what Seattle gave up, why Nelson reportedly favored the Seahawks and who ends up being the odd man out along the o-line. Is the best five on the offensive line the obvious one, or could Zabel be snapping the ball after the bye? Then we go back to the film from the Seahawks 20-3 win over the Kansas City Chiefs, with a plethora of INs and one OUT. We talk about the duo block, gap integrity, Derick Hall setting the edge, Nick Emmanwori everywhere, George Holani in space and Jaxon Smith-Njigba getting open through pre-snap motion. We also hand out the MVC, read the Flock's own ins and outs and talk about what Seattle does next before the trade deadline. Is a pass rusher or a tight end the next big move?

  7. Seahawks Defense Stymies Mahomes, JSN's National MVP Conversation Starts Now

    Show notes

Our Seattle Seahawks stuffed the previously undefeated Kansas City Chiefs 20-3 on Sunday Night Football. This Seahawks defense was so strong that Patrick Mahomes never even got into the red zone. Kenneth Walker came home in a Kansas City uniform and was held to 36 yards on 14 carries, while Emanuel Wilson ran for 100 yards and a 21-yard touchdown. We start the show talking about a defense that played generationally great, from Byron Murphy and a relentless front to Tyrice Knight, Ernest Jones and a Nick Emmanwori who did a little bit of everything. Then we get to Jaxon Smith-Njigba's 150-yard night, Brian Fleury's offense converting 11 of 16 third downs, the Barnyard's return and what Anthony Bradford did for the offensive line. Rashid Shaheed and Charles Cross both left with injuries, and we react to the 49ers falling to the Falcons, answer Super Chats from the Flock and look ahead to the Bears on Monday Night Football.

  8. Seahawks vs Chiefs: Week 7 Game News, Notes, and Top Predictions

    Show notes

Our 3-3 Seattle Seahawks host the Kansas City Chiefs tomorrow and Zach Charbonnet is out after three straight full practices. Are the trade rumors hogwash, and what does the backfield look like behind Emanuel Wilson? Nick Emmanwori's hip, Demarcus Lawrence, Uchenna Nwosu and another game without Thomas leaves us wondering about the defense, while Anthony Bradford is back at right guard to help protect Sam Darnold. We take on a viewer's case for Drew Lock over Sam, run through the Chiefs' injuries, and look at why Jaxon Smith-Njigba could be the biggest problem for Steve Spagnuolo's blitzing, man-heavy defense. Then we go around the league with the rooting guide, check the Pick 'Em League standings, and work through this week's Blue Friday Bets, from Jason Myers' field goals to a Cooper Kupp long shot.

  9. Don't Turn It Over, Seahawks Win the Game

    Episode 510

    Show notes

Kenneth Walker is coming home to Lumen Field, and our 3-3 Seattle Seahawks get a second shot at taking down an undefeated team. It's almost annoying how simple it sounds: hold onto the football, and we win the game. Was last season's run game all Kenneth Walker? We take a look back at the run game that we need to return to. Can Anthony Bradford's return help get the offense moving again? Or will Chris Jones make Bradford look like the guy we all remember from early last season? We dig into how Charles Cross handles George Karlaftis and whether Jaxon Smith-Njigba can keep torching a Chiefs secondary that hasn't seen anyone like him. Then we go through the trade board, from Jonathan Taylor and Khalil Mack to Riq Woolen (really?), and ask if a win or a loss on Sunday changes anything at the deadline. We also celebrate the Rams' freefall, root against the Niners, and wrap up with a rental-car billing nightmare, a Dodgers ball-catching controversy and Airbnb chores.

  10. What If?... The Seahawks Don't Get Bit By K9

    Show notes

The Seattle Seahawks are 3-3, the Kansas City Chiefs are 5-0, and Sunday Night Football is heading to Lumen Field. Can we bottle up Kenneth Walker, our former Super Bowl MVP, now carrying the load for Kansas City? Who shines brighter under the lights, JSN or Walker? We break down how close Sam Darnold has to be to Patrick Mahomes on pressures, turnovers and passer rating, whether our edge rushers can finally feast on a banged-up Chiefs line, and what Zach Charbonnet's return could mean on third down. We also read your wishes from the Flock and lock in our score predictions. The Seahawks vs Chiefs matchup brings major questions and one big theme. Will K9's bite haunt the Seahawks?

  11. 3 IN, 3 OUT: Byron Murphy, the Big Stunt and Emmanwori's Rare Miss

    Show notes

The Seattle Seahawks are 3-3 after a 17-14 overtime loss to the Denver Broncos, and the question hanging over the Flock is whether we can still be a special team. We went back to the tape and found a LOT to love: a stunt up the middle that nearly turned into a pick-six, and Byron Murphy shrugging off a double team like it was nothing. We also found the stuff that still has us upset days after the game, from a pass-pro breakdown on Grey Zabel's pull to a soft zone on a crucial third-and-eight. Is Brian Fleury the problem, or does a brand new offensive coordinator need more than six games and some help at running back? We dig into the latest Rams' injury news, read your comments from the Flock and kept one eye on the 49ers and Commanders as that game played out on the other screen.

  12. Does Sam Darnold Suck? 6 Possible Culprits For His Poor Play

    Show notes

The Seattle Seahawks are 3-3 after an overtime loss to the Denver Broncos, and many in the Flock are asking the same question: does Sam Darnold suck now? Some want Drew Lock. Some of us want patience. We all want answers! So we lined up six possible culprits (an injury, an age cliff, a collapsed run game, a regressing O-line, our offensive coordinator, and plain old random variance) and put each one under the microscope with the interception numbers, the pressure rates and the tape. Is Sam cooked, or is something bigger broken around him, and how much of it can actually be fixed? The Kansas City Chiefs are next, and we've got a mini bye to get this right.

  13. Seahawks Come Back, Then Give It Back: A Pick Dooms Us in Denver

    Show notes

The Seattle Seahawks remain winless at Mile High since 2006 after a TNF loss vs the the Broncos. Jaxon Smith-Njigba put on another clinic, but Sam Darnold couldn't take care of the football when it mattered most. Our defense held Bo Nix to 107 passing yards and kept handing the offense chances, but two Sam Darnold interceptions, a Rashid Shaheed fumble, a missed field goal, and a handful of drive-extending penalties were too much to overcome. JSN was basically the whole offense with 12 catches for 134 yards. We dig into the run game without Zach Charbonnet and Jadarian Price, a rough day for our offensive line, and whether Brian Fleury's play calling is the problem or just a symptom. Is it time to talk about Drew Lock or Jalen Milroe, or do we trust Sam to fix this? At 3-3 with a long week ahead, the questions only get louder.

  14. Seahawks vs Broncos: Week 6 Game News, Notes, and Top Predictions

    Show notes

The Seattle Seahawks are about to kick off against the Denver Broncos on Thursday Night Football, and we're fired up! Denver is missing Pat Surtain II and Talanoa Hufanga, so how much does a banged-up secondary open the door for Sam Darnold and our passing game? Our own inactive list has a big one, too: Drake Thomas is out, Tyrice Knight steps in, and we weigh what we gain and what we lose at linebacker. Is Zach Charbonnet's return really around the corner, and just how excited should we be on a scale of one to 12? Finally, our picks: from Bo Nix's completions to Jaxon Smith-Njigba's catches and a longshot look at how many points could go on the board.

  15. What If?... The Seahawks Can Win By A Mile in Denver

    Show notes

The Seattle Seahawks head to Mile High to face the Denver Broncos on Thursday Night Football, and our offense badly needs to start soaring. It's a short week, so there's no time to dwell on that loss to the 49ers. We map out what has to go right: slowing down Zach Allen and Nik Bonitto, finding yards in the run game with Zach Charbonnet still out, and getting Jaxon Smith-Njigba free against a banged-up Denver secondary. Can our offensive line hold up, and does Sean Payton, back to calling the plays for Denver make this offense scarier? We also read the wishes from the Flock, make a few wishes of our own, and lock in our score predictions. A win gets us to 4-2, and we'd love to see it happen in style under the Thursday night lights!

  16. Sam Darnold, RB Fumbles or the O-Line? Choosing Our Biggest Seahawks Concern

    Show notes

The Seattle Seahawks dropped a 32-29 heartbreaker to the San Francisco 49ers, so what is the real problem with our Seahawks? We asked the Flock in a YouTube poll (Sam Darnold's turnovers, O-line regression, JSN or bust, or a running back room we can't trust) and then went straight to the tape. Why did Sam stare down a double-covered Shaheed with Barner wide open? And why on Earth did we run a wide zone play from our own four with the half winding down instead of just taking a knee? We also break down one of the runs from a three tight end set that worked before we ditched it. There were some nooks and crannies to get into with Nehemiah Pritchett's interception that had us wondering about his low snap count. Plus, Byron Murphy's two-sack day, Mike Evans' best trash talk of the afternoon, and the Dre Greenlaw headbutt aftermath. Two losses by a combined five points and a pile of turnovers has us asking one thing. Can this get cleaned up by Thursday night in Denver?

    Show notes

The Seattle Seahawks lost 32-29 to the San Francisco 49ers, and our Seahawks gave this one away! Four turnovers, a fumble that never should have happened before halftime, and a last drive that stalled at midfield. How do you give up that many easy points and still have a shot at the end? We break down Sam Darnold's turnover problem, Byron Murphy's monster day, Mike Evans torching Josh Jobe, and the Cooper Kupp fourth-down spot everyone is asking about. We also get into when it really would be time to call for Drew Lock, and whether a healthy run game fixes this offense. The 49ers are two games up in the NFC West now, but this Seahawks defense is still for real. Can we flush this one and get right on a short week in Denver?

  18. Seahawks vs Niners: Week 5 Game News, Notes, and Top Predictions

    Show notes

The Seattle Seahawks host the San Francisco 49ers at Lumen Field tomorrow, and we're taking a look at the injury report before game day. Leonard Williams has no injury designation after coming out of the game with an ankle injury and Ty Okada is set to play. We finally get both starting safeties on the field together! The Niners? They're without Nick Bosa and Kyle Juszczyk, and Upton Stout is a question mark in the middle of the field. So is this really a new 49ers offense just because Mike Evans? We aren't buying it, and we'll tell you why. Plus, the Marvin Harrison Jr. trade news out of the NFC West, the Rams and the Myles Garrett mess, who backs up Emanuel Wilson if George Holani can't go, our rooting guide for the rest of the NFC, and a betting slate that comes with a long-shot. Our bets have been rough so far. Can we turn it around this week?

  19. What If?... The Seahawks Can 'Prove It' Against the Undefeated Niners

    Show notes

The Seattle Seahawks host the San Francisco 49ers this Sunday, and this one's a big game! The Niners are undefeated. Our Seahawks are the champs. So who proves it? We go through six "prove it" questions on this week's show. Can our run game be a positive influence? Can our pass rush get home against that top-ranked O-line? Who still has a lot to prove? What does Sam Darnold need to improve? Which pass-catching group is the best in the game? And how do our DBs make the Brock Purdy MVP talk look a little presumptive? Finally, we read your wishes from the Flock, make our own (a Devon Witherspoon sack, anyone?), and lock in our final score picks.

  20. Seahawks Running Back Panic, 49ers Rolling Into Seattle on Cloud Nine

    Episode 509

    Show notes

The Seattle Seahawks host the San Francisco 49ers this week, and we can't wait to destroy the delusion that is fueling the Niners fanbase. Are the Niners really that good? Or have they just feasted on a soft schedule? We break it all down. Our offense is still near the bottom of the league on third down, there's real running back panic after the Jadarian Price injury and the Joe Mixon attempted signing, and it appears that letting Kenneth Walker walk was a mistake. Have you heard that Brock Purdy hasn't been sacked yet? There's a reason for it that we get into and it's not likely to remain true past this weekend. Nick Emmanwori and Devon Witherspoon are set up for a monster day against this dink and dunk offense. Tune in for our predictions, a few division-rival hot takes, emails from the Flock, and our Do Better and Better at Life. Is this a must-win? You bet it is!
