I finally caught up with Digger, and Tom Cruise’s ambitious satire left me with a lot to unpack. There’s tremendous filmmaking, a committed Cruise performance, and layers of commentary about power, climate change, and public apathy. But the humor and ideas didn’t consistently land for me. In this review, I discuss what worked, what felt hollow, and why I’d recommend Digger to cinephiles more than casual moviegoers. Then I explore its polarizing reception, box office struggles, enormous budget, and what its performance actually says about the demand for original movies. Did you see Digger? What did you think? SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY is finally here, I've now seen it TWICE, and it's time to talk SPOILERS!We're breaking down everything: Peter Parker returning to being the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Scorpion and Tombstone, the bizarre use of The Hand, Jon Bernthal's Punisher, the return of rage monster Hulk, Yelena, MJ and Ned, Damage Control, Peter's Spider-Mutation and the massive introduction of Jean Grey. And that Jean Grey reveal gives us A LOT to discuss. The movie wants us to sympathize with her, but she also drives a tank through New York, plants a bomb at a government facility, takes control of innocent people, sends someone walking into traffic and intentionally uses Peter's memories of MJ to emotionally torment him.We also need to talk about Peter's mutation and the technology he creates to restrain powered individuals. Is Spider-Man: Brand New Day quietly setting up one of the biggest threats mutants and the X-Men will face in the MCU?Then there's the third act, the latest Marvel third-act trope, and the post-credit scene.FULL SPOILERS ahead!TIMESTAMPS (SPOILERS IN TIME STAMPS)0:00 Intro0:44 Second Viewing Review11:45 Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man15:56 Scorpion & Tombstone18:56 The Hand22:46 Frank Castle / Punisher31:36 The Hulk34:41 Yelena39:13 MJ & Ned44:28 The Main Plot & Damage Control47:25 Spider-Mutation & Mutant Tech50:53 Jean Grey1:00:36 Third Act1:03:29 Post-Credit Scene#SpiderManBrandNewDay #SpiderMan #MarvelFIND ME ONLINE INSTAGRAM @seantalksabout TWITTER @kirkneverdied FACEBOOK https://www.facebook.com/seanchandlertalksabout LETTERBOXD https://letterboxd.com/seanchandler/ TIK TOK https://www.tiktok.com/@seanchandler83 Patreon https://www.patreon.com/seanchandler My Merch Store https://sean-chandler-talks-about.dashery.com Check out the complete list of gear I use for creating my YouTube videos here: https://kit.co/SeanChandler/my-youtube-equipment Fan Mail can be sent to: Sean M. Ryan George joins me for an in-depth conversation about the origins of Pitch Meeting, his filmmaking background, screenwriting, comedy, Marvel's post-Endgame struggles, the current state of Hollywood, DC Studios, Christopher Nolan, and why modern blockbuster filmmaking often goes wrong.

If you enjoy conversations about movies, storytelling, screenwriting, filmmaking, and the business of Hollywood, this is one you won't want to miss.

The Evil Dead franchise is one of the wildest, bloodiest, strangest horror franchises of all time. It started as a grimy low-budget nightmare, evolved into slapstick horror-comedy, turned Ash Williams into an icon, and then reinvented itself for a new generation with brutal modern horror entries.

With Evil Dead Burn now here, it’s time to rank the entire Evil Dead movie franchise from worst to best, including The Evil Dead, Evil Dead II, Army of Darkness, Evil Dead 2013, Evil Dead Rise, and Evil Dead Burn.

Share your ranking in the comments. Which Evil Dead movie is your favorite?

Time to talk Evil Dead! Is this still one of the most consistent horror franchises! The Evil Dead franchise has always worked best when it feels nasty, chaotic, creative, and completely unhinged. So does Evil Dead Burn deliver the bloody madness fans are hoping for, or does it just recycle the same tricks with louder gore? Here’s my spoiler-free review of Evil Dead Burn, where I talk about the kills, the tone, the scares, the characters, the insanity, and whether this new entry earns its place in one of horror’s most beloved franchises. Be sure to share your thoughts on Evil Dead Burn in the comments. Did it live up to the franchise? Christopher Nolan is back with The Odyssey, a massive cinematic event that brings one of the most legendary stories ever told to the big screen with scale, ambition, and spectacle.

But this is also a movie surrounded by conversation and controversy. Does Nolan’s take on the classic myth justify the hype, or does the baggage around the film distract from the experience?

Here’s my review of The Odyssey, talking about the performances, scale, visuals, storytelling, themes, controversy, and whether Christopher Nolan has delivered another modern classic.

Share your thoughts in the comments. Did The Odyssey live up to the event-film hype?

Time to talk June 2026 movies! My Merch Store https://sean-chandler-talks-about.dashery.com Follow on LETTERBOXD https://letterboxd.com/seanchandler/ June 2026 gave us a weird mix of superhero discourse, killer hippos, Spielberg aliens, Pixar nostalgia, He-Man energy, raunchy rom-coms, and one martial arts movie that absolutely rips. So I’m ranking every new June movie I watched from the worst to the best. Some of these were worse than expected. Some were better than the internet said. And my number one might be the new action benchmark people are talking about for years. Share your June movie ranking down below, and let me know what I missed! Then Toy Story 4 changed the ending. Lightyear took the franchise in a totally different direction. And now Toy Story 5 adds another chapter to Woody, Buzz, and the legacy of Pixar’s most iconic series. So today I’m ranking every Toy Story movie from the worst to the best, including Lightyear and Toy Story 5. Which movie still holds up as the masterpiece? Which sequel surprised me the most? He-Man is finally back on the big screen after nearly 40 years.

As someone who grew up with the toys, the cartoon, and the 1987 movie, I’ve been irrationally excited for this one. But does the new Masters of the Universe actually capture that 80s toy-box magic, or is it another modern nostalgia reboot that misses the point?

What did you think of Masters of the Universe? Did you grow up with He-Man, or is this your introduction to Eternia?

00:00 Intro

00:25 My history with He-Man

01:43 The good

02:02 A live-action version of the cartoon

03:36 The fantasy/action spectacle

04:00 Capturing the toy-line fun

06:12 Skeletor and Man-At-Arms stand out

07:19 Travis Knight’s character work

08:05 My family’s reaction

09:03 What to watch before Masters of the Universe

09:39 Post-credits scenes explained

10:36 The bad

10:58 Too much modern blockbuster comedy

11:47 The Earth section problems

13:17 Too many themes and ideas

14:33 Thor: Ragnarok similarities

15:36 News segment clip

16:42 Final rating
