2026 F1 USGP - full analysis with Peter Windsor
Season 2, Episode 63
Show notes
Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli was outrageously good in Austin, Texas - at a time when he could have been forgiven for backing away a little bit, or perhaps playing it safe. Not a bit of it. The young Italian treated the USGP as just another race he needed to win - and he went out and did exactly that, taking the pole, out-shining his team-mate, George Russell, and beating back the likes of Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) and Max Verstappen (Red Bull) into the minor podium positions. It was not easy, however; it never is, despite the composure, despite the consistency. So sit back - or download - and enjoy the USGP at the Circuit of Americas as it happened through the eyes of Peter Windsor

F1 Livestream 1014 (post-Singapore GP) with Peter Windsor
Season 2, Episode 62
Show notes
There was still a buzz in the air when Peter and viewers/listeners in this livestream looked back at the Singapore GP. There was of course lot of talk about the talent of Max Verstappen - and also of the state of play at Ferrari, Mercedes and McLaren. Peter's opening monologue celebrated the arrival of Rwanda as an F1 venue - and he also looked back at the Natal GP near Durban, where both Jim Clark and Trevor Taylor won in the early 1960s for Team Lotus. Note: this was the first time we streamed live in the new European time slot of 20:00 CET (Wednesday). A big welcome to all our listeners from the Americas and Canada and thanks for joining the show.

F1 Livestream 1007 (post-Sepang, pre-Singapore) with Peter Windsor
Season 2, Episode 60
Show notes
Falling, as it did, between Sepang and Singapore, there was plenty to debrief and preview in this livestream with Peter. Singapore will be a sprint weekend, which nudges things a little further in the direction of Red Bull and Max Verstappen - and on this Wednesday morning also came the news that George Russell will be starting his factory Merc from the back of the Singapore grid (due to the new power unit he will be using to replace the one that failed in Malaysia). Peter and viewers talk about all this and much more in this latest livestream. Enjoy.

2026 F1 Bahrain GP in Malaysia (Sepang) - full analysis by Peter Windsor
Season 2, Episode 59
Show notes
From Friday through to Sunday, Peter analyses the key elements of F1's return to the legendary Sepang track in Malaysia, scene of the "Bahrain GP" that was cancelled earlier in the year due to the unrest in the Middle East. After a slow start from the pole on intermediates in the wet, Max Verstappen went on to score his first win of the season for Red Bull-RBPT Ford, decisively beating the Mercedes of Kimi Antonelli. Sir Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari chose to start on Pirelli slicks but, after sinking to P18, Lewis recovered brilliantly eventually to finish third. George Russell, trailing his team-mate, lost P3 due to a power unit issue late in the race; neither McLaren-Mercedes was ever in contention; and Isack Hadjar seemed set to finish P3/P4 in the other Red Bull before a late-race problem with the battery.

2026 F1 GP of Azerbaijan - full analysis with Peter Windsor
Season 2, Episode 58
Show notes
Excluding the staged one-twos of the Michael Schumacher/Ferrari era, Baku produced the closest F1 finish since...Jerez, 1986, when Ayrton Senna's Lotus-Renault crossed the line only 0.014 ahead of Nigel Mansell's Williams-Honda. At Baku, 2026, Max Verstappen's Red Bull-RBPT-Ford was only 0.196 behind George Russell's winning Mercedes as they crossed the line, bringing to an end a race of two worlds - a tedious follow-the-leader procession in the first phase followed by a Safety Car-generated, dramatic reboot over the closing 16 laps. Isack Hadjar underpinned an excellent day for Red Bull by finishing a strong third ahead of Charles Leclerc's Ferrari; Kimi Antonelli finished fifth in the other Mercedes (after starting 16th); and Sir Lewis Hamilton placed sixth in the other Ferrari.
Peter in this video looks back at the key elements of a spectacular day in Azerbaijan.

2026 F1 Spanish GP (Madrid) - full analysis with Peter Windsor
Season 2, Episode 56
Show notes
Lando Norris led from the pole but his win in Madrid fell away when a brief Virtual Safety Car intervention came a few seconds too late for him on lap 15 (of 57): by the time he had completed another lap the race was on again. Charles Leclerc, who didn't stop under the VSC, then led for Ferrari for most of the distance but ultimately it was Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli who scored the eighth win of the year, leading across the line the Red Bull of Max Verstappen and the charging McLaren of Norris. Leclerc finished P4, ahead of Mercedes' George Russell, but Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton was an early retirement with a brake problem. Peter in this video looks back at an intriguing day at the new circuit - and at a Red Bull call that might have cost Max Verstappen the win.

2026 F1 Pirelli Italian GP - full analysis with Peter Windsor
Season 2, Episode 55
Show notes
Sir Lewis Hamilton finished only P6 for Ferrari but for the Tifosi at Monza there was still much about which to go crazy: Kimi Antonelli, the boy from Bologna, started his Mercedes from P19, led the race, dropped to P6 in a tyre change - and then regained the lead to win. It was an epic drive in an epic, baking-hot race and it marked the first home win for an Italian driver at Monza since Ludovico Scarfiotti headed a Ferrari one-two there in 1966. George Russell led for much of the race in the other Mercedes but ultimately finished P2, ahead of a brilliant Max Verstappen, who brought his difficult Red Bull-RBPT Ford home in P3, and the two McLaren-Mercedes of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. Pierre Gasly, who took a surprise pole for Alpine-Mercedes, crossed the line P7. Peter in this video looks back at an historic day in Monza Park - and at the possible causes of the lap two accident that landed Ferrari's Charles Leclerc in the Parabolica tyre wall.

F1 Livestream 0826 (post-Zandvoort) with Peter Windsor
Season 2, Episode 54
Show notes
Lots upon which to focus after the (last) Dutch GP at Zandvoort, as can be seen from the chapter headings below. The race resulted in a second consecutive victory for McLaren-Mercedes' Lando Norris. Mercedes finished two-three ahead of the two Ferraris - but there was plenty of intra-team in-fighting behind those four results...particularly at Ferrari. Max Verstappen's race ended with a high-speed crash on lap one; Oscar Piastri was well-placed on hard Pirellis before his team unaccountably stopped him early; and Fernando Alonso was in the points for the first time with the Aston Martin-Honda.

That was the year Jim Clark stunned the motor racing world not only by becoming the first driver to win at Indy with a rear-engined car (The Lotus 38-Ford V8) - but also by clinching the F1 World Championship two months later. Allan Moffat - at that stage a young Canadian with dreams of becoming a race driver - worked as a go-fer initially for the Ford Lotus Cortina team in North America and then for the Indy-winning team; Jim Smith, a tough Aussie marine engineer who sailed to England to seek his fortune, found himself building said Lotus Cortinas in Cheshunt, England, after replying to a newspaper ad. From there it was but a small step to the Team Lotus race shop...
I spoke to Jim Smith outside my Sydney hotel; the chat with Allan is a little scratchy due to him being on an early-model cell phone in Australia while I was talking from the UK. I've re-mastered the call as best I can but apologies for any remaining imperfections.

Denny Hulme - in his own words with Peter Windsor
Season 2, Episode 51
Show notes
A true F1 hero, Denny Hulme dug deep in 1970, when his friend and mentor, Bruce McLaren, lost his life in a Goodwood testing accident. At the time, Denny was in the very early stages of recovery from extensive burns to his hands - mainly to his left hand and forearm but also to his right hand - after surviving a spectacular methanol fire at Indianapolis. Eschewing advice from the medics, Denny then returned to F1 at the French GP, determined to lead the McLaren team forwards despite the loss of Bruce. This audio podcast begins with an ebullient Denny talking after the 1969 Dutch GP, when he fought a close battle with fellow Kiwi, Chris Amon. It then fast-forwards to the paddock of the 1970 French GP at Clermont, where a shattered Denny talks about driving the M14A-Ford into fourth place despite the excruciating pain of holding the steering wheel with his left hand while he changed gear with his right. It concludes with Denny talking a couple of weeks later, after the British GP at Brands Hatch, where he has just finished P3 after a titanic battle with Ferrari's Clay Regazzoni.

Shortly after announcing his retirement from F1 - after the Mexican GP, 1970 - Sir Jack Brabham looked back at the early days of his career and talked about his sheer love of driving. As a bonus feature, this podcast also includes a short interview with Sir Jack after his heartbreaking, last-corner, out-of-fuel drama at the 1970 British GP at Brands Hatch.

Emerson Fittipaldi - in his own words with Peter Windsor
Season 2, Episode 49
Show notes
I sat down with Emerson Fittipaldi in his São Paulo office in 2015 - to talk with Emerson the double World Champion (1972, 1974), double Indy 500 winner (1989, 1993) and all-round father of all that is great about Brazilian motor racing. What a driver. What a person.

Niel Allen - in his own words with Peter Windsor
Season 3, Episode 48
Show notes
Niel Allen is without question one of the fastest racing drivers I ever saw. A quiet Australian who did things his own way - first by building a commercial property empire in Sydney, then by racing a succession of stunning race cars prepared by the unmatchable Peter Molloy - Niel by the late 1960s/early 1970s was right up there with the best of the many internationals who raced in Australia at that time. From Elans to Mustangs, to F2 and F5000 McLarens and to brutal, CanAm Elfins, Niel was always decisively fast, impeccably neat and super-competitive. He was intelligent, too - a free spirit in the truest sense of those words. I sat down with him in Manly, on Sydney's North Shore, in 2014. He passed away in 2022.

In an interview recorded with Peter in early 2014, Niki Lauda talks about his racing career, his business world and life in general. F1 Livestream 0804 (driving styles) with Peter Windsor
Season 3, Episode 46
Show notes
In this special August Break livestream Peter takes your questions and comments around a particular theme - about how Kimi Antonelli and Max Verstappen take T14 in Hungary. Delving deep into the subtleties of shorter corners and rotation zones, Peter, sketching live on camera, offers his explanation of why stars like Max, Kimi and Charles Leclerc are able to drive the way they do. Kimi recently said that he "turns in very late, very aggressively" - and that's true, of course. Thing is, many F1 observers have mis-understood this to mean that he turns in late to the entire corner. Peter in this livestream explains why the exact opposite is true. Images related to Peter's sketches can be found in the chapter headings of this livestream
