  1. RHONY Catch-Up: Episodes 1–6 – Carole's Back, Daisy Rules & Sai Goes Too Far

    Show notes

I'm catching up on The Real Housewives of New York, episodes 1 through 6: Carole Radziwill's return, the new cast, and the drama that has everyone talking.

I break down why Daisy is already the breakout star (brisket fingers and all), what I make of Erika and Hayley, the Jessel and Sai alliance coming for the OGs, Jessel vs. Erin and the Hamptons flood, Sai's word choice that didn't sit right with me as a gay man, and Sai grilling Carole about Epstein and Ghislaine. Plus Martha Mondays, the coconut golf cart, and why this cast works.

Coming up on Slay Replay: RHONY episodes 7 and 8, The Golden Life, Dexter, Buffy, and more.

Read my novel, Zombies of the Upper East Side.

  2. The Buffy Pilot That Never Aired (And the Reboot That Never Will)

    Show notes

Before Buffy became a television phenomenon, there was a completely different version of Sunnydale. Alyson Hannigan wasn't Willow, Darla was killed off in the very first episode, and Melanie Lynskey almost joined the Scooby Gang. So what the hell happened?

Jason Zeffir revisits the original, 25-minute unaired Buffy the Vampire Slayer pilot from 1996, uncovering bizarre casting choices, missing characters, surprising plot twists, and a version of Buffy that's practically a sitcom.

Plus, history may be repeating itself. Jason takes aim at Hulu's decision to kill Buffy: New Sunnydale, starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, and reveals his plans to read the leaked revival script.

  3. Vicki’s Miserable, Luann Won’t Shut Up | RHUGT: Roaring 20s Recap

    Show notes

Nine episodes, seven Housewives, and enough drama to fill every franchise. Jason Zeffir is back with a massive reality TV catch-up, recapping all nine episodes of The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20s.

Vicki Gunvalson is miserable, Luann de Lesseps never misses an opportunity to make things about herself, and the rest of the ladies are along for one chaotic, cross-country ride.

Kyle Richards, Teresa Giudice, Porsha Williams, Gizelle Bryant, and Lisa Barlow join Vicki and Luann as they revisit iconic Housewives locations from Orange County and Beverly Hills to Atlanta, Miami, New York, and the Berkshires. Plus, appearances from NeNe Leakes, Dorinda Medley, Carole Radziwill, and more familiar Bravo faces.

Jason breaks down the drama, the ridiculousness, the nostalgia, and everything that makes these women endlessly entertaining.

Plus, updates on his dark comedy horror novel Zombies of the Upper East Side, recent media appearances, what's coming next on Slay Replay, and his ongoing quest to make it into the Bravo Clubhouse as a bartender on Watch What Happens Live. Andy Cohen, are you listening?

  4. Buffy S01E02: The Harvest

    Show notes

Buffy’s first two-parter wraps up with “The Harvest.” Jason breaks down Buffy’s race to stop Luke and the Master’s plan, Jesse’s unfortunate vampire glow-up, Angel continuing to be spectacularly unhelpful, the Bronze showdown, and all the wonderfully weird ’90s details along the way.

Plus: why the characters already feel so fully formed this early in the series, some questionable Sunnydale parenting, and a few personal detours that probably explain more than they should.
