Ep. #54 | The Reason You Can’t Feel Your Deceased Loved Ones | Amie Balesky
Show notes
Why can’t you feel your deceased loved ones around you anymore? Amie Balesky has died four times, surviving childhood cancer, bacterial meningitis, a brain surgery gone wrong, and septic shock, and returned from all of it as one of the most followed mediums in America. Her answer is better news than you would guess, and she brings the receipts.
Amie opens with the man who appeared in her shower and said “Remember 12-1,” and where those two words landed later that day. She shares why she’s genuinely grateful for the cancer that nearly killed her at five, what “everything got super weird” means, and how she keeps her joy after years of being dismissed by doctors.
Then the teachings: why fear is pushed on us constantly and what to do when it hits, the low, middle, and high vibrations told through one soul’s story, why the feeling of a loved one around you fades (the answer is the opposite of what you fear), and her claim that as many as nine out of ten of the thoughts that just pop into your head are not yours at all.
Because this is Spirituality for Skeptics, we go all the way: whether we are the aliens, the black-eyed figure she saw while investigating the Annabelle doll, why she no longer believes in free will, and what she still doesn’t know about death after four trips to the other side.

Amie Balesky is a psychic medium and the founder of The Balesky Experience, bringing clients around the world peace of mind, comfort, and answers through readings, channeling, and teaching. More than three million people follow her work across social media.
Amie’s connection to the other side was forged the hard way: four near-death experiences between age five and twenty-nine. Living with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and more than two dozen surgeries, she describes her work as an ongoing investigation into the continuation of consciousness, showing people that death is not the end.
Raised in a non-spiritual home by an Air Force general and a trigonometry professor, Amie brings a grounded, skeptic-friendly voice to mediumship: she calls out fakes, questions everything, and welcomes science studying her work.

Nicole Spencer is the host and curator of Spirituality for Skeptics, a show that explores the shift from doubt to belief through raw, transformative conversations. Raised without spirituality or religion, she never expected to find herself on this path. In her mid-30s, mentors and personal experiences opened her to curiosity about the unseen, inspiring her to create a space where others could explore freely without dogma or prescription.
Before launching the show, Nicole built and sold two coaching companies at different stages of her career. Most recently, she scaled a business coaching brand to 8-figures in six years, generating over $13 million in that time. The success was rewarding and she remains grateful for it, but even at the height of achievement she sensed there was something more. Stepping away, she turned her focus to the deeper pursuit of peace, fulfillment, and meaning.

Ep. #53 | Can the Dead See Us? A Medium Answers the Afterlife Questions We All Have | Erica Barretto
Show notes
Can the dead see us all the time? Do spirits attend their own funerals? And what actually happens in the first few seconds after we die? Psychic medium Erica Barretto is back for round two: rapid-fire questions for Spirit, answered by a retired NYC law enforcement officer with rare groundedness.
Erica reveals whether your loved ones can always hear you, whether they witnessed their own funerals, and the dream she had one week before her grandmother passed, with a detail about a white dress she could not have known.
Then the conversation goes where most mediums won’t: souls who die by their own hand, where people who did evil actually go, whether places hold on to trauma, and the dark entities question, including the red-eyed figures Erica saw herself and what she discovered when she finally sat with them.
She also shares whether spirits can physically touch us (and how to invite it tonight), the reading that scared her, the message she wishes she could forget, what Spirit says about AI, and the one thing Spirit wants the collective to know right now.

Ep. #52 | How Spirit Guides Actually Speak to You (From a Medium Trained by One) | Isabeau Maxwell
Show notes
How do spirit guides actually speak to you? Almost never the way you’ve been told, and almost certainly more often than you think. Isabeau “Beau” Maxwell learned the answer the hard way: a skeptical math major who set out to disprove what was happening to her, and ended up being trained by a spirit guide, twice a week, for two years.
Beau tells Nicole exactly what that communication really sounds like, including the detail that changes everything: most spirit communication arrives in a voice you would swear is your own, and she explains how to tell the difference. She shares why the proof you’re waiting for tends to arrive only when you stop needing it, the five-minutes-a-day practice that opens the channel, and why she tells students to let what they receive be incredibly faint and trust it anyway.
Then she opens the curriculum from those two years in the woods: what her guide taught her about why time is not linear, what déjà vu actually is (hint: you planned it), what your deceased loved ones experience between the day they leave and the day you arrive, and why guides come and go at different phases of your life, including Nancy, the clipboard-carrying guide who ran Beau’s life like a drill sergeant.
Finally, Beau opens up about her calling, crossing-over work: what happens in the in-between, the people who almost never get stuck and why, whether animals ever need her help, and the one thing you can say at a loved one’s deathbed to help them leave well. Someday you will need that answer.

In this episode of Spirituality for Skeptics, Nicole Spencer welcomes back author and channeler Arthur Tadevosyan, the show's first returning guest, to follow the journey of a soul in order: where souls come from, who plans a lifetime, what happens when we die, and where it all leads.
Nicole brings Arthur the objection her listeners raised after his first episode: "I would never choose the pain and suffering in the life that I am experiencing." His answer involves the beings he calls the Planners, karmic debt, and a choice most people have never heard described this way. They also get into why heaven does not hold souls forever, how long loved ones stay close after they die, whether we all die when we are supposed to, what a life review really is, and what becomes of souls who cause great harm.
Nicole also asks about the warning from AI researchers that the technology could threaten humanity within the decade. If you have ever looked at your own life and asked "why me," this conversation gives you a very different way to hold the question.

ABOUT THE GUEST:
Arthur Tadevosyan is an Author, Channeller and Motivational Speaker. He graduated the National Polytechnic University of Armenia.
Arthur lived his early life in Soviet Union–era Armenia. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, he settled in Johannesburg, South Africa with his family, in a land with a language he could not speak and a society that was completely alien to him. These difficult and challenging circumstances are a colossal part of what led Arthur's spiritual journey and awakening, and his desire to help others through the trials and tribulations we face in everyday life.
His studies in philosophy and religion have fostered a greater understanding of life, humanity, and our soul's purpose, leading to the writing of his book, Croton, which came to him through conscious channeling. Arthur is currently published by Dolores Cannon's publishing house, Ozark Mountain Publishing, and has just launched the third and final book in the Croton Series.

Ep #50 | She Can Reach Your Guardian Team, Non-Speakers, Animals, and the Dead | Ditte Young
Show notes
What if one ability could reach your guardian team, non-speaking children, animals, and the dead? Ditte Young, featured on The Telepathy Tapes and Mayim Bialik's Breakdown, has spent three decades proving that telepathy, clairvoyance, and mediumship are all the same tool, and in this episode of Spirituality for Skeptics she opens up every side of that work, including the one almost nobody asks her about: her clairvoyant readings and her role as what she calls a business clairvoyant, where waitlisted clients come to her in crisis, doubting whether they are on the right path.
Ditte shares the story behind the gifts: hearing animals speak and predicting deaths at four years old, enrolling in clairvoyant school at nineteen to ask them to shut her abilities down, and instead receiving a prediction that came true twice over, including the pregnancy a client's horse announced before any test did. She opens up about her son Philip, the traumatic years after his birth, and how motherhood expanded her work into telepathy with non-speaking people around the world.
Together, Nicole and Ditte explore how the information actually arrives (the guardian team, the doorkeeper, and why our guides change like schoolteachers), the fear-versus-love question that can guide any decision, the red flags to watch for in an unregulated field, and why she believes skepticism is good as long as it stays open. Nicole also shares her own experience as a two-time client, including verified details from her sessions that led to real changes for her dog's health. Whether you are at a crossroads in your work, grieving someone you love, or simply learning to trust your own intuition, this conversation is full of grounded wisdom from a woman with nothing left to prove.

Ep #49 | Why the Oracle Queen Believes We Never Die | Colette Baron-Reid
Show notes
Do we really die? Colette Baron-Reid, known to her fans as the Oracle Queen, answers without hedging: there is no such thing. In this episode of Spirituality for Skeptics, Nicole sits down with the creator of 19 best-selling oracle decks, with more than two million sold worldwide, for a conversation that is equal parts mystery, mechanics, and hard-won practical wisdom.
Colette shares the story she has spent a lifetime understanding: a recurring childhood nightmare, full of details no four-year-old should know, that her mother finally explained decades later by revealing a hidden family history. From there, Nicole and Colette trace an extraordinary arc: a father who read Turkish coffee cups, an awakening she resisted for years, forty years of sobriety, and the reluctant path from aromatherapist to one of the most recognized oracle experts in the world.
Together they dig into how oracle cards actually work and the difference between navigating your life and trying to predict it, why Colette refuses the "your soul chose this" answer to human suffering, what she really thinks of ascension trends and spiritual influencers, and how she released the best album of her music career at 68 after being told at 41 she was too old. Whether you are a devoted card puller or a curious skeptic, this conversation delivers grounded insight, wicked humor, and a perspective on death that just might change how you live.

EP #48 | Why Christians Can't See the Contradictions (From a Mega Church Pastor Who Couldn't) | Dr. Todd Phillips
Show notes
In this all-new episode, Nicole sits down with Dr. Todd Phillips—a former mega-church pastor of 20 years who recently stepped away from his Christian faith and now identifies as an agnostic atheist. Dr. Phillips shares the profound story of his radical conversion at age 24, his deep dedication to evangelical ministry, and the existential crisis that led to his decade-long deconstruction journey.
Together they explore the psychological weight of cognitive dissonance, the challenges of biblical inerrancy, and the heavy personal cost of losing a religious identity. Now the creator behind "The Deconstructed Pastor," Todd discusses how he is building a supportive, highly-moderated community for others navigating the painful waters of religious deconstruction.
It’s a one-of-a-kind discussion that you won’t want to miss.

ABOUT THE HOST:
Through unpolished, emotionally honest stories, Spirituality for Skeptics offers a rare space for those who doubt but long to believe.
