  1. AMD Jumps on Earnings, Duolingo Gains, Block Reports

    Show notes

Today's biggest winners and losers in the stock market, a look at the notable movers:
On this episode of Stock Movers:

    - Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) gave a revenue forecast that exceeded analysts’ estimates, indicating that demand for data center processors remains strong. The company's fourth-quarter revenue will be $17 billion, plus or minus 3%, compared with an average analyst estimate of $16.3 billion. AMD's data center growth has helped offset a slump in the personal computer market, where rising memory-chip costs have slowed production and depressed user demand. AMD shares gained about 6% in late trading after the report was released.

    - Duolingo (DUOL) raised its outlook after investments in customer acquisition and subscription tier changes boosted the number of daily active users. The company expects 2026 bookings of about $1.3 billion and upgraded its guidance for revenue and adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization for the year. Duolingo saw daily active user growth of 29% over the third quarter and expects a similar growth rate in the fourth quarter, according to Chief Financial Officer Gillian Munson.

    - Block's (XYZ) third-quarter gross profit was up 22% to $3.2 billion, compared with the average analyst estimate of $3.1 billion. Block now expects $12.6 billion in gross profit for 2026, according to a shareholder letter by founder Jack Dorsey, up from an earlier outlook of $12.5 billion. The company's stock traded at around $76 Tuesday, after surging following a revamp announcement in February, but remaining well short of its $289 record high reached in 2021.

    - Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) is one of this year’s best-performing chip stocks, but with skepticism about artificial-intelligence spending on the rise, it could use strong results and an aggressive outlook to maintain the momentum when the firm reports earnings Tuesday afternoon. Like AMD, Intel had been a significant outperformer this year as AI spending drove demand for its central processing unit, or CPU, chips. Prior to its report, Intel was up 150% in 2026. But by the end of trading on Monday, that gain was cut to 63%.

    - Fiserv (FISV) shares gain as much as 9.4% on Tuesday, its biggest intraday boost since November 2020, after the fintech solutions firm’s third-quarter adjusted earnings per share beat the average analyst estimate.
