Tea And Soju - A C-drama Podcast

It's time for The Tea & The Teasers – October 2026! 🍵

From Where the Mask Ends to Small Town Remedy, I'm chatting about the C-dramas currently on my watchlist, what I'm absolutely loving, what's keeping me hooked, and what might be getting left behind. Because let's be honest, sometimes a drama just isn't giving what we hoped it would!

Then we're looking ahead to November, diving into the upcoming C-dramas rumoured to be on their way and discussing which ones have already caught my attention. Are there any new dramas that could be making their way onto my watchlist? And which ones have me feeling cautiously optimistic?

Grab your favourite drink, get comfy, and join me for a catch-up full of current watches, drama thoughts, and a little bit of speculation about what's coming next!

🍵 This week on Tea & Soju, Liliana is joined by special guest Angie to chat about the historical C-drama Against the Current!

At its heart, this is a story about women navigating the challenges, expectations and restrictions placed upon them by the world around them. We're discussing the struggles they face, their journeys towards finding their own place, and the strength it takes to push back against the current.

Of course, there's also a little romance along the way! ❤️ But with so much more to explore, we're looking at how the relationships, characters and wider themes come together to tell this story.

What did we think of the drama's portrayal of women's struggles? How did we feel about the characters and their journeys? And did Against the Current manage to leave a lasting impression on us?

Join us as we share our thoughts, opinions and takeaways in another Tea & Soju drama review!

Make yourself a cuppa, get comfy, and come join the conversation!

It's time to roll out the red carpet! 🏆✨

In this episode of Tea & Soju, the Drama Trio is building its very own Cdrama Actors Hall of Fame! Liliana, Jess and Caitlin are bringing their picks to the table and making the case for which Chinese actors deserve a place among the greats.

But with three drama fans, plenty of opinions and only so much room in the Hall of Fame, who will make the cut? Who will get snubbed? And will we actually agree on anything? 👀

Expect passionate arguments, questionable decisions, plenty of actor appreciation and all the Cdrama fangirling you've come to expect from us.

🏆 Who would YOU induct into the Cdrama Actors Hall of Fame? Let us know!

Grab your favourite drink and join us for another cosy chat with Tea & Soju. 🍵

There are some things nobody tells you when you fall down the C-drama rabbit hole — like why you absolutely cannot trust a drama poster, when it's okay to give up on a 40-episode commitment, how to recognise the warning signs of impending emotional damage, and why a drama being “good” doesn't necessarily mean you're going to enjoy it.

So this week, I'm sharing my C-drama survival guide: the things I wish someone had told me when I first started watching.

From ratings to filler, political plots, and knowing when to just WALK AWAY… let's talk about everything I've learned after years of watching C-dramas.

And because I know I'm not the only one who's learned some of these lessons the hard way — what would YOU add to the C-drama survival guide? 🍵

Come hang out with me and let's survive the C-drama rabbit hole together! 💕

And because this is Tea & Soju, expect plenty of opinions, questionable levels of attachment to fictional characters, and probably a few “I was NOT prepared for this” moments. 😂

☕ Welcome back to Tea & Soju, your drama hangout for all things Cdrama!

In this week's episode, I'm taking a step back and reflecting on how my Cdrama taste has evolved since I first started watching back in 2018.

When I first discovered Cdramas, I was all about actors, romance, and modern dramas. Everything felt new and exciting, and I wasn't paying much attention to things like screenwriting, directing, pacing, or story structure. Fast forward a few years, and not only has my viewing taste evolved, but so has the way I watch dramas.

From modern romances to political masterpieces like Nirvana in Fire, I'm chatting about how historical dramas won me over, why I now pay much more attention to writing and directing, how starting Tea & Soju changed my perspective as a viewer, and why I find myself gravitating towards very different dramas than I did when I first started.

In this episode, we discuss:

🍵 How I first got into Cdramas in 2018
🍵 My early viewing habits and favourite types of dramas
🍵 The shift from actors and romance to writing and storytelling
🍵 Why historical dramas became my favourite genre
🍵 Learning to appreciate political storylines
🍵 Binge watching vs watching dramas while they're airing
🍵 How my relationship with Kdramas has changed over time

I'd love to hear from you:

How has your drama taste evolved over the years?

Has there been a genre, trope, or type of drama you used to avoid but now love?

Thank you for listening, and as always, happy watching! ☕🍶

This week on Tea & Soju, it’s time for a May Wrap-Up and a little June Buzz 👀✨

I’m chatting through what I’ve been watching throughout May — the dramas I’ve spent time with, where I’m at with them, and a few thoughts along the way ☕️

And of course, looking ahead to June, I’m diving into the latest C-Drama rumours, possible release dates, and upcoming dramas that are making noise and catching my attention 👀📅

A mix of reflections, current thoughts, and a little anticipation for what might be coming next ✨

Grab your drink of the day, get comfy, and come catch up with me 💛
