“Allah is the only one that can remove this fear from us, but he will not remove it from us until we submit to His will, not our will, and fear Him and Him alone.”
    The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad

Brother Minister Jason Fareed teaches Chapter 17 of Message to the Blackman in America in the exact words of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad.

To submit is to put yourself under another, and the Messenger teaches us to put ourselves under Allah. This class covers:

    • Entire submission, holding nothing back
    • The two conditions and two promises of Holy Qur’an 2:112
    • How fear was put in our fathers when they were babies
    • The difference between the fear of man and the fear of Allah, which is reverence: not wanting to fall short before the One who loves us

Islam is the nature in which we were created. When we submit, we live in our nature, and fear and grief leave us.

When God suggests a thing, it is not a light matter. It is a heavy one.

In this Wednesday Evening Ministry Class, Brother Minister Jason Fareed teaches Food God Suggests, Chapter 3 of How to Eat to Live, Book One, by the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad. The Messenger opens the chapter with a question and answers it himself:

“What food does Allah (God) suggest? He suggests the food that is good for us and does not make us ill. Food that is for human consumption and not for animals.”

    In this class we study:

    • The two foods: the physical food that nourishes the body and the spiritual food that nourishes the soul
    • One meal a day, “no matter what anyone says,” and the doctor’s length of life
    • Why nature never teaches us to die, or teaches of life somewhere else
    • Daniel, the king’s meat, and the pulse: the small navy bean the Messenger prescribed for the Nation of Islam
    • Why we must prepare and grow our own food in a highly commercialized world
    • What we can actually do: treat ourselves better, love ourselves more, desire what God wants for us, and follow God’s suggestions

The body is our temple. Allah suggests the best for it because He loves us, and He leaves the choosing to you and me.

The Safest Way to Eat | How to Eat to Live, Book One, Chapter 33

“The safest way of all to eat is to stop eating so often (three meals a day and meals between those three meals).”
    The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad

In this Wednesday Evening Ministry Class, Brother Minister Jason Fareed teaches Chapter 33 of How to Eat to Live, Book One: The Safest Way to Eat. Food keeps us here and food takes us away. The Messenger shows us that the safest way to eat begins with who is in charge at the table. Our appetite is not our God.

    In this class:

    • Why the Messenger compares our old eating habits to the appetite of the swine, and why “the swine’s life is very short”
    • How eating too often clouds the mind, wears out the stomach and steals our clarity
    • Why our bodies are made of the best, and why we should put only the best into them
    • How America was blessed with the best food and water, and turned good things into bad
    • What it means that America “kept them here in order to prey upon them,” and why we still eat the food of slavery
    • Why the plagues are falling on America, and how those who follow the divine path will be saved

The Messenger also draws on the Supreme Wisdom, the Holy Qur’an, the Bible, The Fall of America and the Theology of Time. The class is a call to regulate what we put into our bodies and our minds, so that we can see clearly and live long.

Foods to Avoid | How to Eat to Live, Book One, Chapter 32

On October 7th, the birth anniversary of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad, the Wednesday Evening Ministry Class opened Foods to Avoid from How to Eat to Live, Book One.

The Messenger opens the chapter by setting the order straight: “We should not be asking questions about what kind of foods to eat as much as we should be trying to eat one meal a day. This is where good health and the prolongation of life come from.”

In this class, Brother Minister Jason Fareed breaks down:

    • Why one meal a day comes before the menu, and what “Of this I can assure you from self-experience” teaches us about a Messenger who lived what he taught
    • How long we could live if we trained our stomachs, and the meaning of Methuselah’s 969 years
    • The scavengers of the sea, and why the Messenger calls the catfish “the pig of the water”
    • How to identify stale fish, beginning with the Messenger’s own test: “When food smells like it is spoiled, we should not eat it.”
    • The divinely prohibited flesh of the swine, which we are not to eat, touch, or even smell
    • Doing for self: our own farms, our own food, and refusing to take our enemies for our guides

We also honor Sister Clara Muhammad, the Messenger’s strong supporter and a perfect example of the M.G.T.

Foods to avoid are physical and spiritual. Avoid the scavengers, the swine, and the poison in our food, and just as importantly, avoid wrong mental food and guidance from those who do not love you.

The Truth of the Teaching | Wednesday Evening Ministry Class | Message to the Blackman in America, Chapter 28

"It is an act of intelligence and love for us to accept our own." With that one sentence the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad opens a chapter that God Himself gave him as His first and foremost teaching for us: Accept your Own and be Yourself.

In this class, Brother Minister Jason Fareed reads Chapter 28 word for word and opens it from the Supreme Wisdom. What is our own? The Messenger answers in order: our own people, our own earth, God and His Religion, Islam, and our own place in the sun. Why do we refuse it? Because we were made blind, deaf and dumb to the knowledge of self and kind when we were babies under slavery. And what is the cure? Intelligence. The act of accepting what belongs to us by nature and by right.

Along the way: the Original Rules of Instruction and Allah's dearest desire "to give everyone his or her own"; Isaiah's ox that knows his owner; the frog pleading with the snake that already has him in its mouth; the modern Pharaoh and why we are fascinated with his riches and his crumbs; Moses' prayer that the riches be broken; and the one part of our deliverance that is on us, loving the enemy more than God. War is inevitable, the Messenger says, but he is not calling us to make war. God must come. Our part is to follow His rules, laws and regulations and do something for self.

Everything of life accepts its kind as its own. This class is the call to come back and do the same.

  6. If the Civilized Man Fail to Perform His Duty What Must Be Done?

    Episode 154

    Show notes

    Send us Fan Mail

The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad took this chapter's title straight from our Lessons. Master Fard Muhammad, to Whom Praises Are Due Forever, asked in Question 19 of Lost-Found Muslim Lesson No. 2, "If a civilized person does not perform his Duty, what must be done?" In this week's Wednesday Evening Ministry Class, Brother Minister Jason Fareed opens Chapter 25 of Message to the Blackman in America word by word, beginning with the first word of the title. If. A condition, not a verdict. The civilized man can perform his duty, or he can fail it.

From there the Messenger tells us what civilization is: "One having knowledge, wisdom, understanding, culture, refinement and is not savage." He tells us there are two civilizations on this earth, "a wicked one and a righteous one," and that "we have all been well trained into the wicked civilization." He measures an advanced civilization not by its technology but by its righteousness. And he tells us where we stand today: "My people in America are under the searchlight of the righteous, who are offering to them the right guidance to a supreme civilization of righteousness never witnessed before on earth."

In this lecture: the three types of people, the 85%, the 10%, and the 5%; the Messenger held responsible for the delivery of the message and his forty million helpers; why a beautiful society must be spiritual; the searchlight that has already found us; the slave-master who failed his duty; fear and ignorance, and the civilized man whose duty is to awaken his people; and the true friend we have today in Allah, Who came in the Person of Master Fard Muhammad, and the Nation of Islam.

The duty of the civilized man is to teach civilization to the uncivilized. That duty now rests on everyone who hears this class.

  8. Never Taught a True Knowledge of God

    Episode 152

Wednesday Evening Ministry Class, ministered by Brother Minister Jason Fareed.

"You, who have been here in America for four hundred years, have never been taught a true knowledge of self, God, and His religion, Islam. As long as you are without such essential knowledge, which is the key of salvation, freedom, justice, and equality, you are not free." The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad opens Chapter 8 with that charge, and this class takes it paragraph by paragraph.

We open on the most important question a person can ask, "Who is God?", and on the Supreme Wisdom Lesson that answers it: there is not a mystery God. We take the Messenger's words as he wrote them and follow where they go. Why we were never taught who we are. Who kept the knowledge from our ears, and why. What the Messenger means by essential knowledge, and by a thorough knowledge of our own history. When the truth arrived, and Who came to make it manifest. Why the hardest problem is not getting the truth to our people but getting them to believe it after it is in their ears. What "Islam, the Religion of Peace" has to do with what Jesus actually taught. And the Messenger's closing word on the religion that was put on us with Jesus' name attached, and what it will take to come out of it.

The class reads the whole chapter aloud in the Messenger's exact words, opens the key words, and sets the Bible and the Holy Qur'an beside the teaching so you can see the agreement for yourself.

In this powerful class, we examine Chapter 19, “The Black Man,” from Our Saviour Has Arrived by the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad.

This discussion explores the divine purpose behind the coming of Allah in the Person of Master Fard Muhammad, the Great Mahdi and Messiah, and why the restoration of the Black man begins with one essential key: the knowledge of self.

We break down the Messenger’s teaching that the Original Black man is infinitely wise, while the Black man in America has been deprived of the knowledge of himself through centuries of slavery, miseducation, and experimentation. We also connect this subject to the Supreme Wisdom Lessons, where the Messenger teaches that ignorance keeps a people blind to themselves and allows them to be used as tools for the purposes of others.

This class is a call to resurrection.

    A call to study.

    A call to unity.

A call to recognize your value.

And most importantly, a call to use the wisdom Allah gave to the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad to build ourselves, our families, our communities, and a nation of our own.

The question is no longer whether the knowledge is available.

In this powerful Wednesday Evening Ministry Class, Brother Minister Jason Fareed teaches from Chapter 24 of Our Saviour Has Arrived, “God Helps Those Who Help Themselves.”

Beginning with Lost-Found Muslim Lesson No. 2, Question 11 — “Will you sit at home and wait for that mystery God to bring you food?” — this class examines the call to move from waiting to action, from dependence to doing for self, and from education without purpose to knowledge used constructively for ourselves and our people.

The class explores the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad’s warning about mental slavery, the proper use of education, the responsibility of the educated to help lift the poor man in the mud, the danger of seeking acceptance in another people’s society, and the urgent command to “get business minded” and “get a creative mind.”

At the heart of the lesson is one central question:

Will we continue to wait for someone else to do for us what we have the ability to begin doing for ourselves?

The help has arrived. The knowledge has arrived. The guidance has arrived. Now our effort must arrive.

Build Our Own Society | The Teachings of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad

What does it truly mean for a people to build something of their own?

In this powerful class, we study the chapter “Build Our Own Society” from Message to the Blackman in America by the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad.

This lesson examines the Messenger’s call for Black men and women to move from dependence toward independence by developing the knowledge of self, accepting responsibility, becoming qualified, working together, and building the institutions necessary for the life of a people.

We break down the meaning of “fair-seeming,” connect the chapter with the Supreme Wisdom Lessons, and examine why the Messenger teaches that true freedom requires more than words—it requires disciplined men and women willing to think, work, produce, cooperate, and do something for self.

The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad teaches that we must begin “thinking and working in the way of independence.” This class challenges us to consider what that means in our families, businesses, education, communities, and everyday lives.

Whether you are hearing the Teachings for the first time or have studied them for years, this discussion invites you to return to the Messenger’s words and consider a vital question:

    Episode 145

As the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad said, above all, we want unity. In this Wednesday Evening Ministry Class, Brother Minster Jason Fareed teaches from The Theology of Time, the twenty-one lectures the Messenger of Allah delivered in 1972, on one of the most needed subjects for our growth as a people and as a Nation.

The Messenger teaches that Islam came to unite us and to remove the spirit of division, envy, suspicion, and criticism that has weakened our people for generations. This class breaks it down in his exact words: equality means to be equal in everything, with no big I and no little you; false pride must be put down and leveled off; and Islam came to "squash that thing called criticizing" and make us brothers. We all came from the same slave parents, so we have no ground to look down on one another. Give your brother and sister the benefit of the doubt, be patient with one another, and stop criticizing everything Black owned and Black operated.

The class stands the teaching next to the Holy Qur'an, chapter 3 verse 103, Surah 49 Al-Hujurat (The Apartments), and 17:37, and next to the Bible, as both Books witness for unity and against pride and slander.

In this Wednesday evening class, Brother Minister Jason Fareed teaches from the words of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad in Message to the Blackman in America, Chapter 97. The Messenger asks us the question, How can we unite, and then he gives us the answer in his own words: "Love and unity of self and kind is the key to our salvation."

We break down what unity really looks like, beginning with love of self and kind. We examine why other people unite while we have been kept divided, how respect is earned and never begged, why a people without peace cannot give us peace, and how our nearly two trillion dollar market can be turned from spending power into ownership power. The teaching is plain: we already possess what it takes to become a great and mighty nation. What has been missing is unity.

In every city, on every screen, on every corner, men and women stand up claiming divinity, claiming offices Allah never gave them, splitting the Black people up and confusing the very masses Allah came to save. In this class, Brother Minster Jason Fareed teaches Chapter 113 of Message to the Blackman in America, Beware of False Prophets, in the exact words of the Messenger of Allah.

You will learn the Messenger's own definition of the hypocrite and the self-styled leader, the test of a true man versus a false one, and why he declared, "There never was a false prophet sent to the people in the past." The lesson is verified by the Holy Qur'an and the Bible standing together as two witnesses, from Holy Qur'an 6:93 and 47:1 to Matthew 7:15, so that no honest listener of any background can be fooled again. The Messenger drops the bomb that settles it all: "You cannot get to Allah unless you come through a Messenger, Apostle or Prophet of Allah."

This is love given to us by the Messenger of Allah. He loves us. Allah loves us. Take that love and let us unite.

  19. The Right Food and the Proper Time to Eat It Is Becoming a Must!!

In this Wednesday Evening Ministry Class, Brother Minster Jason Fareed teaches from How to Eat to Live, Book One, Chapter 12, where the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad declares that the right food at the proper time is no longer a suggestion. It is a must for the people who expect to see the Hereafter.

Brother Minster opens by defining the Hereafter the way the Messenger taught it. Not a place you go when you die, but the new world of righteousness coming in on this earth, received here, in this one life. From there he walks through the Messenger's own words: that the way of Almighty God Allah, Who came in the Person of Master Fard Muhammad, is the best way regardless of who you are or what it concerns, because Allah declares in the Holy Qur'an, "I Allah am the Best Knower."

The class breaks down why the wrong food, the swine and the chemical-laden fast food of today, does not just sicken the body but makes a man other than his own self, tying the lesson back to English Lesson No. C1. Brother Minster shows why the hog was made for the white man as a medicine and a salve, grafted from three natural enemies, and never made to be our food. Backed with the Holy Qur'an and the Bible from Daniel, First Corinthians, and Proverbs, this is a teaching for the whole man, body and mind, so that we may live a long life and walk into the world that is coming.

Study the full teaching, then carry it home.

  20. Abundancy of Life. What the Bible Left Out, the Messenger Gives Us.

The Bible says, in John 10:10, "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." That is the promise. But brothers and sisters, the Bible never told you HOW. It never told you what to put in your body. It never told you what to keep out of your body. It never told you when to eat, how many times a day to eat, what to plant, how to build, how to heal, or how to live one hundred years and more, like the days of a tree.

The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad, Messenger of Allah, gives us the blueprint. Allah, in the Person of Master Fard Muhammad, to Whom Praises Are Due Forever, revealed it to him, and he put it in our hand across both volumes of How to Eat to Live and across all of his scriptures.

In this Wednesday Evening Ministry Class, Brother Minster Jason Fareed walks the body through Abundancy of Life, Chapter 7 of How to Eat to Live, Book 2. You will hear:

Why the food in this world is, in the Messenger's own word, "robbed" of its natural vitamins and proteins, and why the chemicals used to take them out and to fake them back are not safe.

Why the work day was set up with 15, 20, and 30 minutes for lunch, on purpose, so we cannot properly masticate our food, and why the Messenger names half-chewed food as America's number one cause of her many ailments.

Why the Messenger said the stomach is not the boss, the brain is the boss, and how to train yourself, day by day, to put the brain back on the throne where Allah placed it.

Why fasting three days, when sickness comes, is the Messenger's prescription, and why he teaches that fasting is "greater than all the drugs of the earth combined into one bottle or a billion bottles."

And why the abundancy of life is not a promise about the hereafter. We have but one life. The abundant life is received here, in this body, on this earth, on the other side of our daily practice.

Eat one meal a day. Eat good food. Refuse the food Allah has Divinely prohibited. Chew it well. Grow it where you can. Take back the seed. Take back the table. Take back the life.

If you found value in this class, brothers and sisters, do not sit on it. Share it far and wide. Send it to a brother. Send it to a sister. Send it to your mother, your father, your cousin who is sick, your friend who is still searching. The world is hungry for the truth, and we have the bread of life in our hand.
