TRACK 80: Becs Gentry on Running Through Every Season of Life
Show notes
On this Track of The Allie G Show, I’m joined by Becs Gentry for a conversation that feels especially full circle. I started running with Becs years ago on the Peloton Tread, so getting the chance to sit down and hear more of her story firsthand was awesome!
We talk about her journey from road racing and Peloton to trail running, the experience of completing the Great World Race - seven marathons on seven continents in seven days - and what it took to take on CCC at UTMB Mont-Blanc. Becs also opens up about motherhood, finding the balance between training and family life, and stepping into her new chapter with HOKA.
Plus, we get into the highs and lows of chasing big goals, learning to embrace the unknown, and remembering why we fell in love with running in the first place.

17 days until the New York City Marathon!
Kelly Ransier is back for this year's Road to the 5 Boroughs series! Last year, Kelly was on the pod to chat about running a virtual marathon to get guaranteed entry into this year's New York City Marathon. She's trading in her volunteer jacket this year for a race bib and taking on the 5 boroughs herself.
In this track, we catch up about her training, navigating injuries through cross-training, and learning to trust her own path instead of comparing it to everyone else's. Kelly shares what she's most excited about, her race-morning plans, the magic of finishing the race in Central Park, and the little details she's thinking through before the big day.
Plus, we get into her Jonas Brothers concert experience, a very good hot take on charity race entries, and her pick for The Allie G Show playlist.

We talk about how running became such a huge part of Traci’s life, her journey through the World Marathon Majors, running for mental health and NAMI, the races that have challenged her the most, and what keeps bringing her back to New York year after year.
We also get into the importance of finding your running people, lessons Traci has learned through racing, training and fueling, what makes the Bronx such a memorable part of the NYC course, and of course… the music that gets her through a run.
Another fun conversation as we get closer and closer to the Five Boroughs. 🗽🏃♀️

Don Oswalt, founder of My Race Tatts, is on the pod to kick off the Road to the 5 Boroughs Series!
Don’s endurance journey is one of my favorites because he didn’t start out as an athlete. He got into triathlon later in life, went from borrowing a bike and learning how to swim to racing Ironmans, qualifying for Kona, running Boston, and eventually turning a simple Sharpie habit into My Race Tatts.
We get into Don’s journey into endurance sports, the mental side of racing, visualization, self-belief, and what happens when your brain starts telling you that you can’t keep going. We also talk about the mantras Don used to write on his arms during races, and how those little reminders eventually became the idea behind My Race Tatts.
We talk about how My Race Tatts started, why Don calls a mantra a “mental circuit breaker,” how new designs come to life, the community behind the brand, and what’s coming next.
Plus, My Race Tatts is the sponsor of this year’s Road to the 5 Boroughs series, so we get into some of the fun things we have coming up together for the NYC Marathon and beyond.
If you’re looking for a little reminder that you can do hard things, this one is for you.

TRACK 74: Ashley Paulson // Badwater 135, Breaking 100-Mile Records & Eating Cheetos
Show notes
Ashley Paulson is one of those athletes where you could probably talk for hours and hours and still have more stories to tell, and this conversation is exactly that.
In this Track of The Allie G Show, I sit down with Ashley to talk about an absolutely wild year of running, starting with her latest Badwater 135 experience - the big goals, the highs, the lows, and what it took to keep going.
We also get into her record-setting 100-mile year, running 100 miles on a treadmill at the Boston Marathon Expo, getting older in the sport, family, Matt’s role in her racing, and the mindset behind chasing big goals.

It’s been a minute since we’ve done a little solo check-in, so today it’s just me catching you up on ALL the things.
I’m deep in training for both the Tussey Mountainback Ultra and the New York City Marathon - which are only a week apart - so we’re talking big mileage, long runs, recovery, fueling, hydration, gear, and what it’s actually like trying to balance 70–80 mile weeks with work, life, strength training, and, you know… the podcast.
I’m also giving you the latest on my Team Skinny Pig NYC Marathon fundraising, including the marathon squares fundraiser, and a HUGE thank you to everyone who has donated, bought a square, or sent some encouragement along the way.
And because I can’t do a solo Track without completely changing the subject, we’re also getting into what I’ve been listening to lately, concerts I’ve been to, music I’m currently obsessed with, and of course… the US Open. 🎾
Basically, this is a little life + running + music + tennis catch-up from wherever I am in this very chaotic training block.
Thanks for hanging out with me. ❤️

Matt Zelaya’s path into endurance sports wasn’t exactly a straight line. He played football through college, competed on American Ninja Warrior, tried Spartan races, and eventually found himself running marathons, completing an Ironman, racing 100-milers, competing in Hyrox, and continually looking for the next challenge.
In this track, Matt and I talk about what drives that constant progression, why he tends to sign up for things that scare him, and what he’s learned from the injuries, setbacks, PRs, and races that haven’t gone according to plan. We also get into how endurance training has changed the way he approaches work and everyday life, and how those experiences have shaped the way he coaches other athletes.
