The Chris Voss Show Podcast – Wall Street Maverick: Musings on a Career of Innovation, Derivatives, Credit, and Risk by Thomas Jasper
Show notes
Wall Street Maverick: Musings on a Career of Innovation, Derivatives, Credit, and Risk by Thomas Jasper
https://www.amazon.com/Wall-Street-Maverick-Innovation-Derivatives/dp/B0H46WQY1M
IN THE WALL STREET boom of the 1980s and 1990s, fortunes were made, markets were invented, and the rules were still being written.
Where others saw risk, Tom Jasper recognized opportunity, but never at the expense of his ethical code. Wall Street Maverick is as much the story of Jasper’s contributions to derivatives, swaps, and credit markets as it is the story of a career defined by adaptability, curiosity, and a willingness to operate on the edge. He navigated steep learning curves to thrive in a highly competitive—and sometimes cutthroat—environment.
This is no typical Wall Street memoir. It is, instead, a front-row account of how one modern financial market was built, told by a man who helped build it.
At the start of his career, Jasper stumbled into Lower Manhattan and seized opportunities to transform his trademark high risk tolerance into innovation. He recounts building and running Salomon Brothers’ successful interest rate swap desk (one of the largest in the industry), helping found and co-chair the ISDA by uniting fiercely competitive market participants, and later creating new credit default swap distribution models at Primus Guaranty.
Innovation, however, never came without danger. Jasper writes candidly about navigating scandal, global crises, and the 2008 financial meltdown—surviving by staying flexible, surrounding himself with exceptional talent, and never losing his moral compass as he walked the tightrope between risk and respect for the bottom line.
Wall Street Maverick offers a rare, honest look at building a career—and an industry—on the knife’s edge between risk and reward.

The Chris Voss Show Podcast – Run Robbie Run by Jon Pepper
Show notes
Run Robbie Run by Jon Pepper
https://www.amazon.com/Run-Robbie-Jon-Pepper/dp/B0H116JL73
Jon Pepper’s political farce Run Robbie Run is a razor-sharp satire of an American political party at war with itself— and it’s wickedly funny.
Set during an election year nomination process, the novel follows two spectacularly unfit candidates: Dewey Fenwick, an 87-year-old former president who can barely stay conscious, and his successor Robbie Crowe, a lazy, self-absorbed billionaire who stumbles into the nomination without earning a single vote.
Pepper’s comic gifts are immediately on display.
The opening scene, in which campaign aides frantically try to rouse Dewey from a Golden Girls dream before television journalists arrive, is a masterclass in political absurdity. But the novel’s real engine is Robbie — a man so thoroughly unprepared for the presidency that when asked about his vision for America, he offers a few lyrics from What a Wonderful World and tells his aide to write it down.
The satire cuts in all directions.
The party machine, corrupt billionaire puppet-masters, a fawning media, campus radicals planning “mostly peaceful” firebombings at the Chicago convention — no faction escapes unscathed. The fictional surveillance program “America’s Just Rewards,” essentially a social credit system dressed up in loyalty-points marketing, provides the novel’s chilling undertow beneath all the comedy.
The supporting cast is superb: Dinda, the idealistic campaign intern who slowly realizes the party has no actual principles; Senator Hiram Fry, a straight-talking old warhorse who delivers the novel’s most sobering warnings; Lady Janice, the former First Lady desperate to return to the White House; and Marty, Robbie’s long-suffering aide whose deadpan exasperation carries the humor throughout.
Pepper writes with the confidence of someone who has watched Washington up close, and it shows.
Run Robbie Run is sharp, fast, and bracingly cynical — a comic novel that lands its punches because the absurdity never strays too far from reality.About the author
Jon Pepper’s six novels form distinctive set of modern satirical fiction—mainly focused on business, politics, and popular culture. They have won praise from critics and readers alike for their humor, insight, clear prose, and brisk pacing.Jon’s newest novel, “Run Robbie Run,” debuts June 16, 2026. It’s a fast, sharply comic political satire that aims its barbs at the modern campaign machine, media incentives, and the wealthy “do-gooder” class. One review observed: “What makes this work is the voice: brisk, confident, and unapologetically satirical. Pepper writes with a comedian’s timing and a columnist’s eye for hypocrisy.”
“Run Robbie Run” is Jon’s sixth novel. It follows his five-book series, “Fossil Feuds,” centered on the wealthy Crowe family’s New York-based energy empire. Intra-family warfare, executive rivalries, crosstown competitors, government regulators, and climate activists threaten to bring it all down. The Crowe family’s battles are sometimes petty, sometimes mean, but they’re always lively, amusing, and deeply human.

EARLY PRAISE
Kate Danaher’s novel Unstoppable is a revelation—and I say this having written a biography of Victoria Woodhull myself. In her fictional account of this extraordinary character, Danaher combines the work of a skilled researcher with the flair of a poet to resurrect Victoria as she was, not as she has been incorrectly depicted for a century. This Victoria, Danaher’s Victoria is the true Victoria, and she is an inspiration. — Mary Gabriel, Pulitzer Prize Finalist and author of Ninth Street Women.
Kate Danaher is an exceptional researcher, writer and storyteller. Right from the opening scene, the reader is swept into the world of American’s most famous woman of 1872. Danaher writes stirring dialogue, and her use of short, active scenes moves the book along beautifully. Historical fiction has a new starring voice, and it is that of Kate Danaher. — Marion Roach Smith, The Memoir Project
Danaher accomplishes what the finest historical novelists—from Hilary Mantel to Geraldine Brooks—understand instinctively: the past becomes meaningful not when it resembles the present but when it reminds us how different intelligent, courageous people once understood the world. — Robert Rivenbark, Amazon bestselling author of The Cloud.

Over two thousand years ago the circumstances surrounding Christ’s birth presented a sign for the Jewish people that Jesus was born to be the Savior who would die for God’s people. But few understood the sign. Likewise, for almost two thousand years Gentile Christians have been saying, “Worthy is the Lamb . . .” without even realizing what they are saying. Consequently, the meaning of the birth of Christ and the Christmas season are not commonly understood by the masses. This book clarifies everything for both Jews and Gentiles by exploring how and what the circumstances of Christ’s birth spoke to the Jewish people at the time of His birth, and thus, revealing to us all the deeper meaning of referring to Jesus as the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.Over two thousand years ago the circumstances surrounding Christ’s birth presented a sign for the Jewish people that Jesus was born to be the Savior who would die for God’s people. Biblical and Non-Biblical Evidences For The Book of Mormon: That Show Its Validity As Scripture: A Layman's Thesis by Joseph Dean Debarthe
https://www.amazon.com/dp/1963917464What about the Book of Mormon? That it is a controversial book cannot be denied. Many do not accept it as scripture. They believe that Joseph Smith, Jr., "wrote" it. They also believe that the Bible is the only scripture ever written, but nowhere does the Bible make that claim. This belief is not biblical. In fact, just the opposite is true. The Bible testifies to the existence of other written scriptures and specifically a second scripture written about the tribe of Joseph (Ezekiel 37:19). This Joseph is the same Joseph of the coat of many colors, the same Joseph sold into slavery in Egypt and the Same Joseph that saved Egypt and all of the tribes of Israel from the seven-year famine that occurred.
Due to his lack of knowledge and education, if Joseph Smith, Jr., has written The Book of Mormon, it would have been disproven years ago. Instead, as time passes, more and more of it is proven to be correct. Joseph Smith could not have written it for many reasons, not the least of which is the fact that he was a barely literate man. He knew very little of the scriptures and no Hebrew at all. Yet The Book of Mormon is clearly written by highly educated men with a strong background in Hebrew customs and writing techniques, none of which were known by any American in the 1800s. More information on this subject will be explored within this book.
This book was begun by the direction of the Holy Spirit and written to the entire body of Christ. Some might ask why they should read it. Some will read it to try to refute it; others will read it to learn and still, others will use it to further their own agendas. However, you should read it and pray over it, asking God through His Holy Spirit to give you a witness as to its validityAbout the author

It’s no secret that we are in a great time of woes. Whether we have fully come to the Tribulations described in the scriptures, is not yet certain. I quote multiple Scripture references that describe what will take place in the end times preceding the Second Coming of Jesus. I talk about the increase in people complaining about the churches because of people supposedly living hypocritical lives. Those same individuals much of the time, are still living worldly lives themselves. Marked is a reminder that Jesus is still coming, even if we don’t know exactly when. I discuss several issues tying Biblical scripture to our Post Modern current events. I also go so far as to admit that the prophesies in Scriptures concerning the end times are being fulfilled as we read. Last thing anyone want’s is to be caught on the wrong side of salvation. So the question is, “Who’s mark do you have? The mark of the lawless one? or the mark of our Lord Jesus Christ? He is closer now to coming than before. It is worthwhile to thoughtfully consider and decide. My Name is Reverend T. Magnolia Robinson-Felix. I have my Batchelor’s Degree from Rochester Institute of Technology in 1996. Even though I was raised Protestant I graduated from a well known Catholic Grade and High School. So Basically I had extensive experience in both faiths at a young age. I bounced around trying various other churches for over a decade. That is until life’s severe trials and a long bout with serious life threatening illness really made me return to the faith of my youth. That faith being Protestant Non-Denominational and a closer relationship with the LORD Jesus Christ. I was much like the Prodigal Daughter coming home after loosing everything. It wasn’t long after that when I enrolled in Bible School and spent 5 years commuting the long distance to attend classes each week. I received my Minister’s License in 2019 and my Certificate of Ordination in 2020. I have been serving in my home church and around the community ever since.

When I looked at Rosalia’s face, she was pale as a ghost. Her smile was gone, and for a brief moment, I thought her eyes looked ‘dead.’ This haunting image would stay with me for years. Eventually, I came to understand why I had the haunting image of Rosalia. I had allowed my own unknown prejudice to show through, and it targeted her. I condoned the prejudice message that said it was okay to treat Rosalia as unworthy simply because she was different from me. Rosalia was cut deep with the knife of prejudice, and the scar would be eternal.
Our youth today have an array of social issues they are trying to cope with and to comprehend. As an example: they may struggle with friendship, bullying, prejudice, or drugs. Our youth are often confused, searching for answers, and in need of guidance. Parents, families, school staff, the juvenile system, church and civic youth groups, and the medical profession are all educators who impact the social development of today’s youth. Intertwining Choices is a curriculum designed to aid these educators as they guide our youth through formative years today and to socially empower them as they traverse into the realm of adulthood tomorrow.

Born into hardship, I spent years searching for love and acceptance in all the wrong places. Though I knew God was there, I struggled to see His hand in my story—or to recognize my own worth. For a long time, I tried to numb the pain through destructive choices, repeating cycles that seemed impossible to break.
But God had other plans. At my lowest point, He sent an unexpected guide who helped me uncover the truth: that I am worthy, loved, and created for more than survival. Step by step, I learned to embrace myself, to heal, and to live with courage and joy.
Today my life looks very different. The darkness has given way to light, and what once felt like endless struggle has become a testimony of freedom, adventure, and miracles. When you’ve faced the depths of brokenness and discovered the One who loves without limits, fear no longer has the final word.

They fight for the love they know is there, hiding beneath a wicked and drug-fueled storm.
This is the story of a relationship overwhelmed by an unbelievable force, addiction. This force attempts to repeatedly destroy Cali and Tim, but through will and determination, the couple finds a way to continue the fight.
The Addictions Coach Dr. Cali Estes and her husband, professional drummer Tim Estes come clean about their amazing story as the couple struggled with Tim’s heroin addiction which threatened to end their relationship…and his life.
Cali grew up in rough and tumble, blue-collar Pottstown, Pennsylvania. Surviving a childhood where verbal abuse was the norm, Cali made her way to higher education, motivated to make something of herself. After realizing she was addicted to food and finding a path to her own recovery, Cali found success in the business world before it all came crashing down.On her way back up, she discovers Tim in New York City, an aspiring rock musician who had migrated north after leaving his “American Dream” upbringing in Florida. Tim brought aspirations of making it big, like his idols Mötley Crüe, along with a penchant for cocaine and the rock n’ roll lifestyle.
Cali and Tim launch their new lives together and celebrate with a move to the warm Florida sunshine, where Cali’s Addiction Coaching business begins to thrive and so does Tim’s new passion for heroin.
