  1. The First Thanksgiving Was in Texas!

    Show notes

Texas celebrated not one, not two, but three Thanksgivings before the Pilgrims ever left England, and Chet brought the receipts.

Here's the thing: Cabeza de Vaca shared a feast with Native tribes in 1535, Coronado gave thanks in Palo Duro Canyon in 1541, and Oñate feasted with 400 soldiers near El Paso in 1598. Pick your favorite. Texas wins either way.

In the November Talkin' Texas Podcast, Chet and Daniel also recap a chaotic October of new episodes (South Austin, Roma, Garland, and Galveston), answer your questions about cowboy hats, the F1 track, and that $375,000 guitar, and review a Midland "black panther" video and a banana-eating porch visitor in Watauga. Plus a Texas Music Minute with Josh Weathers.
