The Pacers Post Up

Basketball, News, Sports, Sports News

Brad and Ryan Knight, affectionately known as The Brothers of Basketball, are lifelong Indiana Pacers fans turned podcast hosts who bring heart, humor, and hoops knowledge to The Pacers Post Up, a show built entirely by fans, for fans.

Brad’s love for the Pacers dates back to the Reggie Miller era—the legendary playoff heroics, the fierce Eastern Conference Finals battles, and the team’s lone trip to the NBA Finals in 2000 are part of his basketball DNA. He still vividly remembers watching the Malice at the Palace unfold in his parents’ living room. That deep-rooted connection only grew over the years. Brad’s wife has been a Pacemate for 8 seasons, and he credits their parents’ investment in season tickets as a key part of the family’s shared bond with the Blue and Gold.

Ryan, a few years younger, missed the height of the Reggie era but became fully indoctrinated during the Paul George years—when the Pacers battled LeBron and the Heat year after year. A proud member of the G2 Fan Zone in the late 2010s and the world’s biggest Lance Stephenson fan, Ryan brings unapologetic energy and passion to the pod.

Together, Brad and Ryan launched The Pacers Post Up as a passion project to give Pacers fans a voice in the media landscape. Their goal has always been to deliver meaningful basketball conversation in a way that’s accessible, insightful, and fun. Whether diving into analytics and X’s and O’s or riding high on the emotional wave of a big win, their show strikes a balance that keeps fans informed and entertained.

Since launching, the brothers have followed the team from Vegas (for the inaugural NBA In-Season Tournament) to Paris (for the NBA Global Games), covered the All-Star Weekend in Indy, and chronicled this new golden era of Pacers basketball with playoff runs to the Eastern Conference Finals.

They bleed blue and gold and love nothing more than building community through the game that’s meant so much to their lives.

  1. THE SUPER 6 | Decimated Pacers Show Heart in Heartbreaking Loss to Hawks

    Episode 444

    Show notes

Six players. Forty-eight minutes. ALL HEART.

The Indiana Pacers were absolutely DECIMATED by injuries, playing just six available players against the Atlanta Hawks. But what the Blue & Gold lacked in numbers, they made up for in hustle, toughness, and determination.

Despite Atlanta knocking down 20+ threes, Indiana battled all night, with all six Pacers scoring in double figures and a chance to steal the game in the closing moments.

Braden Smith answered some BIG questions, and the entire group delivered the kind of effort Pacers fans have been waiting to see.

It’s another loss in the standings, but this one felt different.

The SUPER 6 reminded everyone what Pacers basketball is supposed to look like.

Brad breaks down an inspiring performance, Braden Smith’s emergence, and why the rest of the roster should be taking notes.

  2. Haliburton OUT Multiple Weeks! Pacers Fall Apart Late vs. 76ers

    Episode 443

    Show notes

The injuries continue to pile up for the Indiana Pacers. Shams Charania reports that Tyrese Haliburton will miss multiple weeks with a left hamstring strain, adding to an already lengthy injury list that going into Wednesday night’s game included TJ McConnell, Aaron Nesmith, Andrew Nembhard, Ivica Zubac, Obi Toppin, Johnny Furphy, and Ben Sheppard.

Meanwhile, the Pacers let another winnable game slip away at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. After trailing by double digits at halftime, Indiana dominated the third quarter 36–13 to take a 13-point lead into the fourth. But Tyrese Maxey’s late-game heroics helped Philadelphia steal the win.

Now 2–3 on the season and without Haliburton for the foreseeable future, the Pacers face an uphill battle.

Brad and Ryan break down the injury news, another frustrating loss, and how Indiana can stay competitive until reinforcements arrive.

  3. Pacers vs. Bucks Recap: 11-Point Halftime Lead, Not Enough in Milwaukee

    Episode 442

    Show notes

The Indiana Pacers had an 11-point halftime lead in Milwaukee and looked poised to pick up their third win of the season. Instead, the Blue & Gold ran out of gas, got absolutely punished on the glass in the 2nd half, and let a rebuilding Bucks team off the hook in a game they’ll wish they had back.

Yes, it was the second night of a back-to-back. Yes, tired legs were a factor. But there’s no excuse for letting this one slip away.

Brad and Ryan break down a frustrating night in Milwaukee:

11-POINT Lead Squandered! Indiana controlled the first half before getting outplayed by double digits after halftime.

60 REBOUNDS ALLOWED?! Milwaukee dominated the glass, grabbing 16 offensive rebounds and making the Pacers pay for their inability to finish defensive possessions.

RUNNING ON EMPTY! The fatigue was obvious down the stretch as Indiana struggled to generate stops, secure rebounds, and mount a late comeback.

SOME BRIGHT SPOTS! Despite the loss, there were encouraging individual performances and flashes of what this team can become.

A MISSED OPPORTUNITY! Against a Bucks team in full rebuild mode, these are the games Indiana simply HAS to find a way to win.

The Pacers showed plenty of promise in the first half, but basketball is a 48-minute game. And when the legs disappeared, so did the lead. You can explain the loss with fatigue. You can’t excuse it. Brad and Ryan break down what went wrong, what deserves credit, and why this loss is so frustrating for a Pacers team trying to build early-season momentum.

  4. Haliburton & Pacers BOUNCE BACK vs. Nets in ABA Throwbacks!

    Episode 441

    Show notes

“I FEEL LIKE DR. J OR SOMETHING!”

You KNOW it’s a good night when Tyrese Haliburton is channeling his inner Julius Erving in the postgame press conference! The Indiana Pacers got BACK ON TRACK in Brooklyn, bouncing back from an embarrassing home-opening loss with a much-needed win over the Nets in their ABA throwback uniforms. And while the first half wasn’t pretty, the Blue & Gold finally found their rhythm. After committing 11 TURNOVERS in the first half, Indiana cleaned things up with just THREE in the second as Haliburton took over, finishing with 24 POINTS, 10 ASSISTS and a ridiculous self alley-oop dunk that had everyone talking! Brad and Ryan break down EVERYTHING from the Pacers’ get-right win in Brooklyn:

HALI GOES FULL DR. J! 24 & 10, a self alley-oop and another reminder of what makes Tyrese special.

OBI BRINGS THE ENERGY! Toppin delivers a big night off the bench as the Pacers finally get their offense rolling.

OUBRE’S BEST GAME YET! Kelly Oubre Jr. turns in his best performance in a Pacers uniform, bringing energy on both ends.

SIAKAM STAYS STEADY! Pascal delivers 21 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists.

ZUBAC GOES DOWN! Ivica Zubac exits early with an ankle injury, but Jay Huff steps up with 14 points on 5-of-6 shooting and 3 BLOCKS after getting the second-half start.

TAKING CARE OF THE BALL! From 11 first-half turnovers to just 3 in the second, Indiana finally starts looking like itself.

The Pacers needed this one, but there’s NO TIME to celebrate. It’s straight to Milwaukee on Monday night for the second half of a back-to-back against the Bucks, with a chance to carry some momentum back home for Philadelphia on Wednesday night. The ABA throwbacks were BACK. The vibes were BACK. And Tyrese Haliburton looked like he was having FUN again.

  6. HALIBURTON HEROICS! Pacers SURVIVE Pelicans 123-120 in Wild Season Opener!

    Episode 439

    Show notes

TYRESE HALIBURTON IS BACK… AND THE PACERS ARE 1-0!

It wasn’t pretty, but the Indiana Pacers escaped New Orleans with a 123-120 opening night victory over the Pelicans, thanks to some late-game heroics from a familiar face!

After nearly 500 days away from NBA basketball, Tyrese Haliburton delivered 23 points and 12 assists, including 13 points in a PERFECT fourth-quarter shooting performance to help Indiana steal a win on the road.

Pascal Siakam poured in 30, Ivica Zubac posted 16 points and 15 rebounds, Andrew Nembhard added 18 and 9 assists, and Obi Toppin chipped in 20 off the bench. With numbers like those, you’d think the Pacers cruised to victory. Not even close.

A 38-point first quarter turned into an ugly 18-point second, as Rick Carlisle experimented with some questionable rotations while trying to integrate new faces into the lineup. The Pacers battled back in the second half, overcame their rebounding struggles, and found a way to finish despite missing key pieces.

We break down Haliburton’s incredible return, Zubac’s “debut”, the lineup challenges, Quenton Jackson’s impact, the physical battle with New Orleans, and a little Derek Queen drama along the way.

It wasn’t always pretty, but a win is a win.
