The Séance
Horror fans sit down with the people who make horror. Each sitting of The Séance puts an independent horror filmmaker at the table with hosts Landon Brittain and Danny Alamary: how the film got made, what went wrong, what it cost, and what they'd do differently. Directors, cinematographers, producers and actors, no budgets hidden, no PR answers. From HorrorMeet, the horror fans' own house, where every film we cover is free to watch on the Film Shelf. Join free at horrormeet.com, where the next Séance is announced.

Ep. 4: Sophia Louisa on the Ouija night, writing The Wrecker and making movies anyway
Season 1, Episode 4
Show notes
Sophia Louisa was nine when three girls, a brand-new Ouija board and a dark house changed how she felt about the thing for good: "all of a sudden everything got really quiet, and the lights went out." So when she sat down at The Séance she would not touch the board, and we did not ask her to. This one is different in another way too: the whole episode is animated, the three of us drawn at the table, lip-synced to the real conversation. New Séance every Tuesday at noon PT. Follow the show so you never miss one.
The Séance, Episode 4: writer, producer and actress Sophia Louisa (@sophialouisalee), co-writer of The Wrecker (Tyrese Gibson, Harvey Keitel, Mena Suvari, Danny Trejo), sits down with Landon Brittain and Danny Alamary. Her new short, Much Too Vulgar, shot the day before and set on the Georgetown campus (and the word parabiosis). The night the lights went out. How The Wrecker got written and what survived to the screen. Ed Wood's pitch, Bela Lugosi's last footage and Vampira, fact-checked. Cannes and Yes She Cannes. The Exorcist and Eileen Dietz. Who really made The Terminator (Danny was right). The Matrix Reloaded's digital Neo (Danny was right again). Ghostbusters, Street Fighter and Raúl Juliá. From Dusk Till Dawn and the clerk who turned out to be John Hawkes. Curry Barker's Obsession and why the win is winning the people. A lightning round answered out loud, no board. And one piece of advice for anyone who wants to write their first horror script: just do it.

Ep. 3: Manta Mystic on the night an Egyptian goddess spoke through her: "I am her master"
Season 1, Episode 3
Show notes
Four minutes into the sitting, Manta Mystic closes her eyes and an Egyptian goddess named Wadjet starts talking: "I am her guidance, but more than that, I am her master." It is the first time she has ever channeled on camera, and it happens at a table with a Ouija board, two horror hosts and a dog with digestive issues.
The Séance, Episode 3: channel and healer Manta Mystic sits down with Landon Brittain and Danny Alamary. The live channel, start to finish, uncut. What a channeler is and is not (she is not a medium). The paranormal story from this house. Bali, Ubud and the guru. Shaktipat, Reiki, Kundalini. Mantak Chia and sexual transmutation. Wim Hof and DMT. LA's spiritual centres. The business of the unseen. And a word to the skeptics.
