  1. Milan win the derby, Dortmund stop Bayern and Champions League returns

    Show notes

The Euro Show is back to look ahead to another set of mouthwatering Champions League fixtures and discuss what’s been an enthralling weekend of action on the Continent.

AC Milan continue their imperious recent record over city rivals Inter with a 3-1 win at San Siro. Christian Pulisic is yet again amongst the scorers against the Nerazzurri and that result means it’s Lazio who are now outright top of the pile in Serie A after 10 games. Gennaro Gattuso’s side and local rivals Roma, who go to Manchester United this week, are now the only two unbeaten teams in the league.

Ballon d’Or winner Harry Kane misses a penalty and Fabio Silva scores a late equaliser as Dortmund hold Bayern to a 2-2 draw in Germany. The Bavarians stay top on goal difference ahead of Die Schwarzgelben, whose former striker Niclas Fullkrug STILL can’t stop scoring for Werder Bremen.

Jude Bellingham scores his 50th goal for Real Madrid as they beat Racing Santander 3-0, while Barcelona get back to winning ways with a 6-1 victory over Alaves. But the attention is on Atletico boss Diego Simeone, who has won a record-equalling 344th La Liga game as a manager. It’s just the small matter of Bayern Munich in the Champions League next up for his side.

And in France, Achraf Hakimi scores a hattrick and creates two assists, all from right-back, as a much changed PSG smash Le Havre 5-1 to maintain top spot in Ligue 1.

  4. Shocked Arsenal head to Anfield as Carrick’s United go to Chelsea

    Show notes

The top four all face each other in a mouthwatering Matchday 9 in the Premier League.

Jimbo, Tom Williams, Liam Twomey and a debuting Jay Bothroyd are in the studio to comb through all the action.

Champions Arsenal go to Liverpool in Sunday’s only fixture. The Gunners were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by League Two Fleetwood on Tuesday with Max Dowman sent off. But did the 16-year-old prodigy do the right thing?

Michael Carrick is surprisingly still the manager of Manchester United. They travel to Stamford Bridge where Xabi Alonso has more questions to answer after Chelsea’s League Cup exit at Anfield.

Man City come from behind twice to edge past Brighton via a shootout. Those two teams will do it all again on Saturday. Can the Seagulls claim their first ever win at City?

On the pitch, Jose Mourinho’s Real Madrid become the first team to beat Barcelona in La Liga this season, with Kylian Mbappe scoring twice in a 2-1 win. That leaves Atletico Madrid just two points off the leaders.

In Germany, Bayern win 3-1 at Freiburg without Vincent Kompany on the touchline as he recovers in hospital after collapsing during training. Niclas Fullkrug can’t stop scoring for Werder Bremen, while in Italy there are still four teams unbeaten after eight games for the first time ever.

And in Ligue 1, protests in Paris affect PSG’s top of the table clash with Lyon.

Jimbo, Daniel Storey, Tim Spiers and Matt Davies-Adams are in the studio to review all the action from Matchday 8.

The Cherries run out 3-0 winners as United’s winless run extends to 8 matches. All that with Bruno Fernandes an unused sub.

Brighton hit the skids after an Araujo-powered Liverpool reign supreme at Anfield.

Spurs win at Stamford Bridge on Saturday - a once in a generation event - as Cole Palmer also sees red. Was this the day things finally clicked for De Zerbi at Tottenham?

    Show notes

It’s another Euro Show and there are more blockbuster Champions League fixtures to look ahead to.

Jimbo is joined by James Horncastle, Tom Williams, Pol Ballus and Seb Stafford-Bloor as Barcelona travel to PSG and Bayern host Arsenal in Matchweek 3. Are they the four best teams in the competition?

Barcelona have won 11 games in a row in all competition, with Lamine Yamal scoring another outrageous strike against Real Betis. There’s no Vinicius Jr for Real Madrid, but they still beat Sevilla 4-1. Why have Los Blancos released a statement attacking La Liga President Javier Tebas though?

Bayern are back on top in Germany after a thumping 6-1 win over RB Leipzig. Harry Kane loves scoring against Arsenal, but he’ll have to do so without the help of suspended Michael Olise this time.

In France, there’s a five way split at the summit after Monaco lose at Lorient. Are PSG starting to look inevitable?

And in Italy, Lazio have made their best start to a Serie A season ever. Is it time to take Gennaro Gattuso’s side seriously and what does that 3-0 defeat of Juventus mean for Luciano Spalletti?

  10. Arsenal strike late at Forest…and are Brighton in the title race?

    Show notes

Jimbo has Daniel Storey, JJ Bull and Tim Spiers for company after Matchday 7 of the Premier League.

Champions Arsenal were made to wait at the City Ground but Noni Madueke’s late strike took the 3 points home for the Gunners as Forest continue to struggle in front of goal.

Man United were ahead at Elland Road but get pegged back. It’s now just 2 wins from 10 matches in all competitions for Michael Carrick’s side.

Man City make it 7 wins out of 7 under Enzo Maresca as we continue to ponder what that’s worth.

  13. Vini's remarkable red + Man City welcome champions PSG

    Show notes

The Euro Show is back after an international hiatus and there’s plenty to discuss with the return of the Champions League and yet more headline making for Vinicius Jr.

Jimbo is joined by James Horncastle, Tom Williams, Seb Stafford-Bloor and a special cameo appearance from Pol Ballus ahead of some blockbuster Champions League clashes. It’s all eyes on the Etihad Stadium as Manchester City host holders PSG. What’s been the reaction to City’s charges across the rest of Europe?

Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho’s Real Madrid go to his former club Roma with both teams having had star attackers sent off over the weekend: Donyell Malen seeing red at Como, while Vinicius Jr is dismissed for pulling Villarreal midfielder Nathan Saliba’s hair.

    Show notes

The most anticipated Premier League game for many years is won by Enzo Maresca’s men in controversial circumstances. Jimbo, Tom Williams, Adrian Clarke and Colin Millar try to make sense of it all.

Will the English top flight ever be the same again? Jimbo, Julien Laurens, Duncan Alexander and Si Hughes have lots to ponder.

After being ruled to have violated the Premier League’s financial rules for almost a decade, Man City travel to Liverpool on Sunday with the eyes of the world on them. Can Maresca’s men make it six wins out of six against a Liverpool side yet to lose under Iraola?

Spurs are winless and bottom of the table. But could their luck turn against similarly under pressure Man United at Old Trafford?

Champions Arsenal have had three weeks to stew over the 3-0 thrashing by Brighton, as they welcome unbeaten Leeds to the Emirates.

From East London to global superstardom, he lit up English football with his magical right foot and the red carpets with his good looks.

Not the fastest or the biggest as a kid, he famously practiced relentlessly and was taken under the wing of Alex Ferguson who turned him into one of the Premier League greats, winning 6 Premier League titles and shining as Man Utd won the treble in 99.

A talismanic England captain, he wore his heart on his sleeve and perenially found himself on the front and back pages in a tabloid time.
