The Truth (In My Opinion)

Comedian Preet Singh is our correspondent this week. Preet is a literal comedy machine sometimes doing 7 gigs a day which, let’s be honest, is unhinged but makes him very very very good. They discussed more AI madness and whether it’s ethical to put on extortionate gigs when the performers are holograms and also importantly, dead.

And for subscribers, perhaps the maddest story of all time. All we will say is Banbury FC and male strippers. Do make sure to subscribe on either Apple Podcasts or Patreon if you haven’t already!

'Two things you should know about the Budget' because it's not as radical as Andy Burnham would like us all to think and really, he's not that different at all. Plus could Tommy Robinson be locked up for 10 years? We can but dream! And please don't panic but Liz Truss has written a book.

Comedian Dan Tiernan is our correspondent this week. This was Cody's first time meeting Dan, his first time crying with laughter on the pod and the first time someone brought an Advertising Standards Authority update as a headline. Cody and Dan talked a lot about mental health, coping mechanisms and the power (or not depending on what side of the fence you’re on) of crystals.

Frances supermarkets have fallen victim to their freezers being hacked and Cody thinks it's pretty scary... Author and broadcaster Natasha Devon is our correspondent this week. Cody endured another embarrassing moment by asking a weekly news commentator with a show on news channel LBC whether she is a newsy person. Natasha’s headlines were however not embarrassing, covering everything from Meghan Markle’s £112 advent calendar to Kemi Badenoch’s avoidance of a potential coalition with Reform UK.

Many of you having been writing in with your questions about the far right party Reform UK. They still confound lots of us, particularly when it comes to understanding why family or friends might actually vote for them. In this episode, Cody fields SOME of the MANY questions we received about Nigel Fararsehole's merry band of arseholes. What do they actually stand for? Why are they allowed to be a business? And are being too harsh on the people that actually vote for them?

'AI isn't dangerous, it's just shit!' is the statement spilling out of Cody's mouth this week as he believes he's stumbled on a new theory. We're not all in danger of AI taking over and killing us, it's simply a story made up by the big billionaire bosses who've made a rubbish product and are too scared to admit it. What do you all think? Commentmaxxers get involved please! Plus Becky brings a tabloid story, UH OH!

Comedian Jen Brister is our correspondent this week, brought to you from our live show at The London Podcast Festival. Her headlines covered the UK Government's ban on trade and services involving illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank, Trump's mad commitment of 5,000 dollars to voters if the Republicans keep hold of the senate at the mid terms and the misindentification of the under 19s Pakistan cricket team as asylum seekers by far right extremists. 'Non-political Ed Sheeran got it wrong with Macklemore'. Cody and Becky are discussing the biggest news of the week which sees an unlikely trifecta of some of our biggest musicians. But how wrong did Ed Sheeran really get it? Answer - very wrong.

Comedian and satirist Tom Walker is our correspondent this week. He brings, in classic Jonathan Pie style, a righteous fury about Nigel Farage's apparent inability to listen to important conversations about accepting illegal money for his party, Reform. There are pills being popped but not the fun kind, as OAPs are finding their over prescription of over the counter drugs being responsible for sending them to A&E. 'I do not give a s*** about Elon Musk!' Producer Becky's buttons get pushed this week as Cody wants to talk about how trauma might *possibly* have had something to do with Elon Musk being insane. WE KNOW! A new documentary looking into the life of Elon has been premiered at Venice Film Festival and we apparently learn that he is planning for a Civil War in America.

Becky want's to talk again about the public sector being coopted by private interests, with a new focus this week on child care providers. Cody outlines what colonialism for clicks is. Plus we chat through the recent far right AfD win in Saxony-Anhalt in Germany.

Comedian Gianmarco Soresi is our correspondent this week bringing us some headlines from the USA! The brand new SILENT Fast & Furious ride at Universal Studios has proven to not be so silent, with thrillseekers bringing the noise as they ride and boy is it upsetting some neighbours. Cody and Gianmarco get into the landmark Meta settlement over the mental heath of children, that really won't make even a tiny dent in their profits. 'I do think this is a case of woke gone mad!' A commentmaxxer has struck gold with a headline about a Titanic themed slide being forced to change it's branding after people were furious at the idea of any fun being associated with the disaster. But what happened when they did ultimately change the name of their slide?

Shock and horror, AI fraud detection might not always work! And which.co.uk have proved it in a No.10 Downing Street Hotel hoax.

Comedian Kiran Saggu is our correspondent this week bringing some incredibly important headlines. In a podcast first, we have a Vogue headline and it's a strong one. Was Love Island star Jasmine Gaziza Müller vilified for being a confident brown girl? We also discuss a rise in domestic violence directly linked to the World Cup in our second headline which might be triggering for some listeners, so do skip that story if so. 'Donald Trump is selling Truth Social posts?!' Yup, you read that right! Donald Trump is selling his 'market moving' Truth Social posts to anyone willing to pay the $100,000 price tag. Which as you can imagine has attracted some really ethical customers!

Andy Burnham has announced 70,000 new social and affordable houses will be built in the next 10 years. But is this good enough when 1.3 million people are currently on a waiting list for social housing?

Plus Whetherspoons are expanding into the European airport market!
