I’m going straight into one of the most taboo ideas in the mediumship world: living mediumship, or communicating with the soul and higher consciousness of someone who is still alive. Death is one of the few experiences we all share, yet most of us are forced to guess what it’s like. I’m Nicole Pope, and I’m pulling death and dying out of the shadows to talk about what I’ve learned through mediumship, client readings, and the consistent patterns I see around the transition from the physical body to the spirit world.

We start with a perspective shift: this 3D reality is real, but it’s temporary, and our natural state is soul consciousness in the spirit world. From there, I walk through what can happen before someone passes, including the “between worlds” experience I hear about often with dementia or cognitive decline, and the surprising phenomenon of living mediumship that can show up in complex caregiving dynamics.

Then we go straight into the part most people fear. Over and over, I’m shown that before any meaningful pain, the soul is pulled out of the body. That includes expected deaths in hospice and also sudden or traumatic passings like accidents and unaliving. I also share what I’ve seen with pets. From the soul’s view, the crossing can be fast, light, and even shockingly natural, followed by reunion energy on the other side with loved ones, guides, angels, and more.

We also talk about the life review: not punishment, but a 360-degree understanding of your impact, your growth, and the lessons your soul carries forward. You can admire a spiritual teacher, trust their work, buy the books and classes, and then suddenly feel a full-body absolutely fucking not. The confusing part is what happens next: your mind starts explaining away your own reaction. Maybe you’re judging. Maybe you’re jealous. Maybe you’re resisting growth. Or maybe something genuinely changed.

There are actually three very different reasons a teacher can start giving you the ick. The teacher may no longer embody what they teach. Your own resistance may be trying to keep you comfortable. Or you may have simply outgrown the lesson.
