Tiki Time Spotlight: Jeff Granito, Tiki Artist & Mug Designer
Season 1, Episode 3
Show notes
Jeff Granito grew up spending his school years at his parents' place in Kihei, Maui. He earned a history degree, then studied graphics and packaging at ArtCenter College of Design, where he met his wife. Disney's WonderGround made him an artist-in-residence, and when visitors kept asking "Do you do tiki?", he found tiki culture and never looked back. We caught up with Jeff at his booth to talk about Hawaii, Disneyland, Cartoon Network and Warner Bros., the old packaging and '70s screen prints behind his style, why selling his art was his wife's dream, his favorite tiki drink, and the tiki bar he won't name.

Tiki Time Spotlight: High Roller Tiki Lounge with Michael Cobb
Season 1, Episode 2
Show notes
Michael Cobb spent almost 20 years at Disneyland, about 10 of them inside Club 33, and his favorite job there was at the long-gone Tahitian Terrace. On July 17, 2020 (Disneyland's birthday, in the middle of the shutdowns) he opened High Roller Tiki Lounge, a Vegas-style tiki lounge in the Danish village of Solvang. We sat down at the bar to talk about where the name came from, why his menu runs on wine cocktails, Disney's influence on the lounge, his exclusive tiki mugs and how they're made, his favorite tiki drink and tiki bar, and what's next for the High Roller.

Tiki Time Spotlight: Adrian Eustaquio of Inside the Desert Oasis Room
Season 1, Episode 1
Show notes
Adrian Eustaquio has spent 9 years recording the stories of the tiki world on his podcast and vlog, Inside the Desert Oasis Room, recorded at the bar in his own home. We sat down with him there to talk about how a 1980s visit to Don the Beachcomber hooked him for life, why Tiki-Ti is his favorite bar (and why that's different from the best), Ray's Mistake, the one-of-two Cobra's Fang mug Mike Buhen Sr. gave him one Christmas, getting his shrunken head, and why he records everything as a time capsule for future generations.
