Why You Don't Need to Change
Season 8, Episode 385
Show notes
Catherine explores a paradox: how can we grow and change without making ourselves wrong or trying to become somebody different?
Drawing on an Enlightenment Intensive workshop she attended years ago, she asks whether we can give up wanting to change and instead surrender to accepting ourselves and our lives as they are. She suggests that our power lies in being present with what is true now, rather than fighting with ourselves.
Catherine distinguishes between working on aspects of our behaviour and trying to change who we fundamentally are. She uses her own capacity for being bossy as an example, and explains how accepting that part of herself actually reduced its hold on her and created more freedom to choose how she behaved.
She also explores this through the metaphor of a garden. We can remove dead growth, clear paths and help the roses thrive without believing the garden is fundamentally broken. In the same way, we can work on our relationships, behaviour, attitudes or knowledge from a place of self-trust and acceptance.
The invitation is to surrender into exactly who you are now, while remaining free to learn, grow and make changes by choice rather than from a belief that you need fixing.

What If You’re Ready to Leave Everything Behind? Following Your Inner Spark with Nedjma Belaid
Season 8, Episode 384
Show notes
Catherine welcomes Nedjma Belaid, who guides self-aware women to release roles, protections and conditioning that no longer serve them and reconnect with their truth.
A former pharmacist and Tony Robbins coach, Nedjma is a clinical hypnotherapist and NLP master practitioner and trainer. She has facilitated over 2,500 transformational sessions and continues her own journey in deep inner alchemy. She created the Sacred Undressing Journey and the Five-Pointed Star Path to help women become aligned and turned on through high consciousness leadership.
Nedjma describes the “fire within” as the spark that leads us towards what inspires us and creates aliveness. They explore her journey from mathematics and pharmacy to coaching, the courage to leave secure careers, and the challenge of knowing when something is truly not aligned rather than simply uncomfortable.
They discuss self-selection, why seekers may need a path rather than a promised result, and how Nedjma's Sacred Undressing Journey helps people uncover layers of conditioning, wounds, coping mechanisms and limiting beliefs through four archetypes: the Sovereign, Warrior, Lover and Mystic.

What If Everything In Your Life Is Something You Attracted?
Season 8, Episode 383
Show notes
In this episode of Truth and Transcendence, Catherine explores attraction and the law of attraction from her particular point of view. What are we attracting towards us right now? And what would we like to attract?
Rather than approaching attraction as simply thinking positively or believing hard enough that we will get what we want, Catherine invites us to treat it as an experiment: what if everything in our lives is something we have attracted towards us? Not as a reason for blame, but as an opportunity to become more conscious of the energy, vibration and messages we are expressing.
She explores the relationship between what we do and who we are, the importance of embodying the qualities we want to attract, clearing unhelpful conditioning and questioning our beliefs. She also shares a simple practice for noticing what we are attracting in each moment—and why humour and having fun may be some of the most powerful ingredients of all.

00:10 – What is attraction, and what attracts what?
00:42 – The different levels of attraction.

02:51 – Moving beyond blame and treating the idea as an experiment.

03:45 – Embodying what we want to attract.
04:21 – Attraction is about being as well as doing.
04:44 – Letting go of unhelpful habits, conditioning and beliefs.
05:37 – Why attraction cannot be created through the mind alone.
06:35 – Checking in with what we are attracting in each moment.
07:10 – Attraction as an ongoing, moving feast—and the importance of humour.

Catherine welcomes spiritual seeker, teacher and author Indra Rinzler to explore consciousness, intuition, surrender and living beyond conditioned stories.

Indra shares stories from his spiritual journey, including 20 years in a spiritual community, travelling the world and an experience in New Zealand of deep completeness. He describes learning to make decisions from intuition and explores surrender as releasing control and the need to be in charge.
They also explore his work with Vedic astrology, the Enneagram, astrocartography and the Wheel of Totality, and the story behind Indra’s Net.

Why the Fastest Route Through Your Organisation Isn't Official
Season 8, Episode 381
Show notes
In this episode of Truth and Transcendence, Catherine explores “wormholes” as a metaphor for unexpected openings within companies, organisations and other complex systems that can create a much quicker route from A to B.
A wormhole might be a junior person reaching the CEO with an important message, or an unexpected connection providing exactly the knowledge needed to unlock a problem. The key is recognising that possibilities can exist beyond established structures.
Catherine explores how wormholes may reveal themselves through unexpected conversations, connections or emerging groups, and invites us to stay receptive rather than dismissing developments simply because they were unplanned.
It is a playful exploration of organisational change, possibility and emergence – and the idea that the quickest route through a complex system may not be the official one.

What If You Could See The World With Fresh Eyes? with Stephan Kerby
Season 8, Episode 378
Show notes
Catherine Llewellyn welcomes Stephan Kerby, who goes by Kerby, to explore curiosity, openness and how these qualities can change the way we experience ourselves and the world.
Kerby's own journey through depression, anxiety and a search for fulfilment led him into exploring consciousness, healing and identity. Today he works with people around transformation while continuing to question who we are beneath the stories we tell ourselves.
Kerby shares how curiosity has guided him throughout his life, including a childhood insight about watching the world like a movie and having some choice about how we respond. They explore how becoming curious about our thoughts, beliefs and programming can create space for different responses and new patterns.

Finding Your Place in Life: Are You Living the Life You Actually Want?
Season 8, Episode 377
Show notes
Catherine Llewellyn reflects on conversations she has recently been having with people from her past and what these conversations have shown her about the different ways people choose to live their lives.
Some people have found a life that suits them and are enjoying retirement, travel and family. Others are continuing to create, collaborate, work, learn and develop. Some are somewhere in between. Catherine explores what it means to find your place, including recognising when the life you are living is not the life you actually want.
She considers the different relationships people have with work and retirement, and the importance of not living according to what we think we ought to be doing. Whether we are settled and content or uncertain about what comes next, Catherine suggests that wherever we find ourselves has value and can be the place from which the next part of our lives emerges.

Finding Common Ground: David Deighton on the Art of Talking to Strangers
Season 8, Episode 376
Show notes
Catherine Llewellyn welcomes David Deighton, creator of Triptych Dialogue, an art experiment exploring how we can bridge societal divides by changing the way we talk to one another. David's work brings people together in person, often around difficult subjects such as politics, using art, active listening and the senses to create deeper connection.
David shares how his understanding of impermanence developed through years of meditation and study, including time spent at a monastery in India with a Burmese monk. He describes his practice of using rocks as reminders of impermanence, suffering and connection, and how these ideas became part of his artistic work.
They explore the origins of Triptych Dialogue, including an encounter with a medieval triptych at the Victoria and Albert Museum. David explains how the missing parts of the artwork prompted him to think about what is absent from our conversations, and how this led him to begin speaking with strangers about politics.
David describes his approach to these encounters, asking three questions, listening without debating and looking for the emotional common ground beneath political differences. He explains how these short conversations can transform both participants, and how his own anger and sense of division have changed through the practice.

What Happens When You Finally Accept Your Feelings?
Season 8, Episode 375
Show notes
Following on from the theme of letting go, Catherine Llewellyn explores what can happen when we stop trying to change our feelings and instead surrender to what we are actually experiencing.
Catherine shares a personal experience from a relationship in which sexual chemistry had changed. Rather than continuing to try to restore the feelings they thought they should have, they asked a simple question about what each of them wanted right now. The resulting clarity and willingness to feel what was actually present transformed the situation.
From there, Catherine explores how the same principle can apply in our other relationships and choices. When we stop trying to control our feelings, we create space for clarity, reflection and natural change. Sometimes the most useful thing we can do is tell the truth about what we feel in this moment and allow that feeling to be what it is.

Is Stress Actually Good For You? The Truth About Intensity with Nico Verresen
Season 8, Episode 374
Show notes
Catherine Llewellyn welcomes Nico Verresen, former Muay Thai champion, psychologist and founder of Burnout Boxing Experience. Nico explores his lifelong relationship with intensity and how a passion that took him to the top of combat sports eventually led him to a very different mission: helping people embrace intensity rather than automatically seeing stress as something harmful.
After years of fighting, Nico's body finally forced him to stop when severe eye injuries ended his competitive career. The experience helped him recognise that intensity itself wasn't the problem—it was how we related to it. He now works with people to understand their nervous systems, embrace challenging experiences and develop the presence to choose how they respond.
They explore stress as an adaptive system, the difference between stress and suffering, why our beliefs about stress can influence how we experience it, and how challenge can become the “spice” that makes life more alive. Nico also shares how his relationship with intimacy and intensity has evolved, and why emotions such as stress, anger and anxiety can be understood as messages rather than problems to suppress.

Is Your Body Asking for More or Less? A Guide to Letting Go
Season 8, Episode 373
Show notes
Picking up from the previous episode's theme of letting go, Catherine Llewellyn explores what happens when we stop forcing ourselves and instead listen to what the body is actually asking for.
Using her experience with yin yoga as a starting point, Catherine reflects on the Western tendency to push harder, do more and strive to get things “right”. She contrasts this with surrendering into a comfortable stretch, allowing the body to find its own version of a pose, and discovering that letting go can create more relaxation rather than more effort.
The conversation then expands into food, emotions and relationships. What if, instead of automatically responding to hunger, anxiety, discomfort or habitual patterns, we paused and tuned in to what the body is really asking for in that moment? Catherine invites us to become more alive to our bodies, our relationships and ourselves by releasing into what is actually present rather than pushing ourselves beyond it.
#LettingGo #BodyWisdom #ConsciousLiving
==================
Where our conversation went:
00:07 Letting go as a continuation of the previous episode's theme
00:20 Catherine's experience of yin yoga and the invitation to let go into a pose
00:55 The Western programming to do more, try harder and push through difficulty
01:26 How forcing a stretch can create more tension
01:36 Modifying the pose and discovering that less can actually give us more
02:20 Allowing tension to melt away by relaxing into what feels comfortable
02:36 Surrendering into the body's experience rather than forcing it
02:59 Applying the same principle to fitness, nutrition and how we relate to our bodies
03:39 Pausing to ask the body what it is actually hungry for
04:00 Listening to the body's specific request rather than letting the mind embellish it
05:21 Recognising that cravings may be asking for comfort, connection or something else
05:43 Discovering that the body may be asking for a hug—or for some distance
06:03 Bringing more aliveness into relationships by tuning into what the body is asking for
06:57 Letting go into what the body wants: food, hugs, lovemaking, walking or yoga
07:21 Releasing into the body's limits rather than pushing, yanking or forcing ourselves

Life is the Teacher: How Steven Ferrara turned 20 Years of Grief into Wisdom
Season 8, Episode 372
Show notes
Catherine Llewellyn welcomes Steven Ferrara, a lifelong spiritual student, teacher and coach who spent decades building a successful financial services business before selling it to focus fully on his spiritual path.
Steven introduces the idea of the “inside life”—the part of ourselves that can observe our thoughts, emotions and experiences rather than simply reacting to what happens around us. He explains how this inner awareness has helped him live from the inside out, including through the profound losses of his son and his wife.
They explore spiritual awakening, the difference between intellectual learning and true transformation, and why Steven believes that life itself is the teacher. Steven also shares how spirituality and material success can coexist, his approach to coaching through listening rather than motivation, and why inspiration and higher purpose matter more than external achievements.
The conversation also leads to Steven's book, Grief to Gratitude: Embracing the Inner Pathway to Healing and Peace, which grew from more than 20 years of daily journaling and the life lessons he discovered by looking back through his journals.

What You Let Go of Can Be Someone Else's Treasure
Season 8, Episode 371
Show notes
Decluttering is usually framed as getting rid of things we no longer need. But what if we looked at it differently? In this episode, Catherine Llewellyn explores the possibility that what we are releasing may be of real value to someone else.
From jewellery and household possessions to tasks, responsibilities and even relationships, Catherine invites us to consider not only what something is worth to us, but whether it still fits who we are now. Letting go can create space for us while simultaneously creating opportunities for other people.
This is a different way of thinking about decluttering: not as removing something unwanted, but as contributing something that may have greater value elsewhere.
#Decluttering #LettingGo #TruthAndTranscendence

Where our conversation went:
00:05 Why decluttering has become such a familiar part of modern life

01:47 Letting go because someone else might benefit more from what we have
02:17 Clearing a relative's home and discovering that things we don't value may be valuable to others
03:07 Moving beyond the idea that decluttering is simply about getting rid of things

03:29 Could someone else enjoy, develop through or benefit from the tasks that no longer suit us?
03:52 Decluttering as contribution rather than disposal
04:03 Asking what we are contributing and what opportunities we are creating for others

The Freedom to Not Know: Why You Don't Need an Opinion
Season 8, Episode 369
Show notes
Catherine Llewellyn explores something deceptively simple: we don't have to have an opinion. In a world full of pressure to decide what is right and wrong, true and false, good and bad, Catherine asks whether our constant need for certainty may actually be limiting our freedom.
She reflects on how we are conditioned from childhood to distinguish right from wrong, and how that useful social conditioning can expand into a demand to have a position on everything. What happens when we allow ourselves to say “I don't know”, “I haven't decided”, or simply “that's not where I want to put my energy”?
This episode is an invitation to step out of judgement, pause before reaching a conclusion, and honour our individual sovereignty—including our freedom not to have an opinion.

Where our conversation went:

01:04 We don't have to have an opinion, agree, disagree or draw a conclusion
01:45 Why our ideas of right and wrong are important—and how they can run out of control
02:58 Applying the need for certainty to relationships and everyday decisions
04:03 The discomfort of saying “I haven't decided yet”
04:35 Is it acceptable simply to say “I don't know”?
05:22 How social pressure can make certain opinions feel forbidden
07:12 The vital importance of honouring our individuality, perspective and sovereignty
07:50 Why a society where everyone agrees on everything would be deadening to human life
08:43 The idea that we must always have an opinion as a form of cognitive slavery
09:11 Taking a pause when you notice yourself judging, labelling or trying to decide
09:53 When decisions are necessary—and when we may simply be forcing ourselves to have an opinion

Brain Athletes: Arnold Beekes on Training Your Mind & Becoming a “Better for All” Leader
Catherine Llewellyn welcomes Arnold Beekes back to Truth & Transcendence to explore his work with “brain athletes”—people who deliberately train their thoughts, emotions, relationships and leadership in much the same way an athlete trains their body.
Arnold introduces three ideas at the heart of his approach: unconditioning, aspiration, and united uniqueness. Together, Catherine and Arnold explore the invisible “straitjackets” created by conditioning, the possibility of consciously shaping our emotional states, and the importance of bringing our unique qualities together in service of a world that is “better for all,” rather than simply better for a few.
They also discuss neuroplasticity, self-kindness, the impact of our inner critic, and why becoming more authentic can transform not only our own lives but the lives of everyone around us.

Medusa: Why We Need to Start Playing Again
Season 8, Episode 367
Show notes
Catherine Llewellyn takes us on location to meet Medusa, an extraordinary handmade car created by her brother from an original idea and a collection of old and salvaged parts. But this episode isn't really about a car. It's about what Medusa represents: the freedom to create simply because you want to.
Catherine explores the difference between creating from genuine inspiration and creating for approval, money, conformity or recognition. When we allow ourselves to play, experiment and make something purely for the joy of it, our creativity opens up—and life gets more room to express itself through us.
What would you create if you didn't need it to have a reason?
